Discoverer 3.1 compatible with 10g Database?

Please confirm or deny that Discoverer 3.1 is compatible with 10g Database?

Hello
Discoverer 3.1 is no longer supported, and we do not certify it against newer database or operating system versions. Therefore it is not possible for us to confirm or deny whether Discoverer 3.1 would work with the Oracle10g database.

  • 11g database compatible with 10g ASM?

    Hi all,
I have one server with Oracle 10g database and ASM installed. Now I need to install a new database on 11g version. Know you if my new 11g database can use the 10g ASM? Or I need to create a new ASM in 11g too?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jordi

PLease look at the following link. The 11g Database is indeed going to work with 10g asm but the features available will vary depending on the version compatibility.

  • Is 9i db compatible with 10g AS

    We have a three-tier application:
Tier 1: Client using Web deployed forms using Jinitiator
Tier 2: Oracle 9i Application Server (on Windows)
Tier 3: Oracle 9i Database (on Unix)
We want to upgrade Tier 2 to Oracle 10g Application Server. Do we also have to upgrade our database to 10g or with 10gAS work with 9i Database?

Thanyou for you're swift reply. As iam not exactly offay with mobile phone technology, does this mean that I wont be able to purchase iphone in the states until at&t sell it as pay as you go? If that is so,would be able to change be able to change to O2 in the uk,or would he be tied into an At&t contract. Many thanks. Stephen N.Ireland.

  • Is OWB 11.1 compatible with 11g database  cubes/dimensions

I heard OWB 11.1 stores data in 10g format and it is not compatible with 11g format. However AWM 11.1 creates 11g compatible data. Is it true? Any idea?
    thanks

    Hi
That is correct, the OWB 10gR2 and 11gR1 releases both generate OLAP 10g style cubes using the AWXML api. AWM 11.1 can create/administer both 10g and 11g styles cubes. Needless to say, it takes a little time to catch up with an ever changing API....plenty of fun stuff to come ;-)

  • Can I have a 9i OEM with 10g Database for repository?

    Guys
I plan to move our OEM from 9i to 10g in a planned manner.
I want to know, as a first step, if the OEM itself can stay at 9i and the repository database can be moved to 10g.
    Second: if I move OEM & repository to 10g, can I monitor 9i & 8i DBs?
    Thanks

I want to know, as a first step, if the OEM itself
can stay at 9i and the repository database can be
moved to 10g.I don't see why you would consider this....If you do a new installation of GC 10g, it will take care of creating the 10g database and creating the repository. So, this step isn't necessary.
Second: if I move OEM & repository to 10g, can I
monitor 9i & 8i DBs?You will be able to monitor 9i dbs and also 8i dbs...However, the features available for monitoring these versions isn't great. I recommend you keep your 9i OEM to monitor them. As you upgrade these target dbs to 10g, you can add them to your new 10g Management server.

  • Installing oracle 9i with 10g database installed , what do you suggest ?

    hi guys,
i have just installed oracle 10g on my WINDOWS XP machine
    Checked the registry , the
    oracle base
and oracle home values are as following
    oracle_base - c:\oracle\product\10.2.0
    oracle_home - c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db1
the values are correct according to what the oracle documentation has said.
now i would like to install oracle 9i on my windows XP machine as well and i would like both the 9i and 10g database to have the same ORACLE_BASE, different HOMES as what the OFA is capabable of providing.
However, i cant adopt the naming practise of oracle_base in 10g, as , IF i set the oracle_base of 9i to
    c:\oracle\product\9.2.0 - then i would have 2 different oracle_base which is wrong
    1) c:\oracle\product\9.2.0
    2) c:\oracle\product\10.2.0
SO i have to set the oracle_base of BOTH the DB to
    1) c:\oracle\product
to have them both having the same ORACLE_BASE.
what do you guys suggest ? or is there any impact ?
or should i just stick to 2 different base and 2 different homes.
    Thanks guys.

    Set ORACLE_BASE to \oracle\product
Then set the individual homes at the db_1 level.

  • Discoverer OLAP 10gR2 Compatible with 11g OLAP?

    Hi
I've been trying to create Discoverer OLAP 10gR2 worksheets by connecting to Oracle 11g database i.e. report on 11g OLAP measure folders.
Nothing appears in Discoverer item selection list, even though I have created measure folders.
Can anyone confirm if this is a no-go or if there is some way in which this configuration will work.
    The details are as follows:
    Oracle BI Discoverer version 10.1.2.54.25
    D4O Build 10.1.2.2.0.0010
    BI Beans Build 3.2.3.0.37
    JDK Version 1.6.0_01
    Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition : 11.1.0.6.0
    Thanks
    Greg

    No one knows the answer?
I have the same problem. I've spent 3 days trying to get olap cubes visible in d40, but no success.
    awm: 11.1.0.7.0B
    database: 11.1.0.7.0
olap cube types: either 10g or 11g
I was pretty sure, that there must be info on OTN page, wich versions of Oracle goes with wich version of database. But i was wrong - i've searched probably everything - but there is no information on this topic.
I guess that it is not normal business practice, that software vendor cannot say if its products goes together?

we still searched in MOS and found out, that the agent 12.1.0.2 is compatible (certified) down to oracle database 10.2.0.5
Unfortunately, we have a few older database releases to manage. Is it possible to monitor databases down to oracle 8i with the 12.1.0.2 agent, even though it is not certified?

The current production release of BI Beans is not compatible with 10g database. There will be a database patch out soon that will resolve this problem. Currently only 9i (9.2.0.4.l and 9.2.0.5) is supported

  • SQL Developer 3.0.04 generated scripts not compatible with Oracle 10g (XE)

    HI,
I tried to do an export from one XE database (still 10g) to another XE database. (also 10g).
I tried to do a database copy as well as a separate export and import (by loading the file and running as a script).
Neither of them work without modifying the files as it seems that SQL Developer generates scripts that are only compatible with Oracle 11g.
    - Create table contains "segment creation automatic"
    - Storage clauses contain parts that are not compatible with 10g
I ran through the wizard several times but neither can I find an option to choose for compatibility with earlier versions of Oracle.
Checked the preferences screen as well.
Is this a well hidden option or is it not possible to make this work for 10g.
Extra : found workaround by removing the storage clause to the export. Is there another way that does not force me to remove the storage clause?
Edited by: kcaluwae on 24-jun-2011 6:03

I'm sure this is far from the supported way to fix this but, seeing that it's apparently an issue with the classpath or something in it, I hacked <sqldeveloper_install>\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.bat and added [ORACLE_HOME]\jdbc\lib\ojdbc6.jar to the classpath. At least that gets me started with 3.0 and lets me create TNS connections.
I'd really appreciate a better solution, if any of you kind folks knows of something.
    Thanks,
    Kelly

Maybe there is a newer setup installer? But I can't find it.
