You said, "...+I would like to install Release 2(11.1.1.2.0)+ ...". Be careful. 11.1.1.2.0 is not Release 2. The version for Rel 2 is 11.1.2.0, notice that there is one less "1". Also, there is no way to patch from Release 1 to Release 2.
In EDelivery, this is what you should find if you search on "Oracle Fusion Middleware" for "Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)":
First look for this link then drill into it:
Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Media Pack for Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)
In this section you will find the following:
This is the full product installation of FMw 11 Release 2 (Forms & Reports)
    Oracle Forms and Reports 11g R2 (11.1.2.0.0) for Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) V28761-01
This is the full product installation of FMw 11 Release 1 (includes Portal, Forms, Reports, and Disco)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 1 of 4) V18785-01
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 2 of 4)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 3 of 4)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 4 of 4)
This is the FMw 11 Release 1 patch set that will bring the above 11.1.1.2.0 installation to 11.1.1.6.  This is NOT a full product installation - just a patch
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g Patch Set 5 (11.1.1.6.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) V29850-01
There are no patch sets for Release 2 as of yet.

If it works from a PC and not from the Unix box then you may have a network issue of some sort, I.E. firewall not letting it through etc.
Try using telnet on the Unix box to see if you can connect to the sql server on the port that the SQL server is listening.
    E.G.
    telnet server_name 1433
You may need to change the port number to the one that the SQL server is using.

  • Discoverer and application server 10g R2.

    hi all.
i have installed Application server with Discoverer but i did not find dicoverer there
there is just one batch file nothing else.
plz guide me what should i do?

    Hello
Which version of the application server did you install? Not just 10g but did you install 10.1.2.0.0 and patch it to 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3, or did you install another base version?
Discoverer 10g R2 will only be available if you use application server 10.1.2.0.0 and then patch it to either 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3. If you installed a different version of the application server you will not have the Discoverer engine installed.
To test it you only need to launch a browser and call the URL for the server's home page like this: http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778
If Discoverer is installed you will see links to launch Discoverer Plus and Discoverer Viewer. You can also try calling Discoverer direct using: http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778/discoverer/plus or http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778/discoverer/viewer
Another way to see if Discoverer components are installed is to locate the root for the ORACLE_HOME into which the application server was installed. From there, if you have Discoverer you will see an ORACLE_HOME\discoverer folder with sub-folders of config, deploy, doc, lib, logs, mesg, plus_files, secure and util.
Also, if you navigate to here: ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications you should see a folder called discoverer
If you cannot find the above folders then you have installed an application server that does not support Discoverer. You will need to de-install it and then install 10.1.2.0.0 and patch it up. • Removing Server 2000 DC and adding Server 2008 DC.

Removing Server 2000 DC and adding Server 2008 DC.
From: Server 2000 Sp4 (not leaving in place, no plans to demote)
To: Server 2008 Sp2 (will be a single DC and hold Global Catalog)
Single forest domain. Only one DC.
Problem: The old server 2000 is still a primary DC and the new server 2008 is not taking over.
    Completed the following tasks:
NIC binding (connected NIC at top of list on new server)
New server is also DNS server. This role is working and it points to itself 127.0.0.1 and clients have been moved to use the new server for DNS, they are working.
New server has some shared folders. Clients are connected and this is working until we remove the old server, then they cannot authenticate to the mapped drive.
Both servers show the role of Domain Controller
Adprep /forestprep and /domainprep and /domainprep /gpprep were run on the server 2000 (as it was the existing DC) with a successful message.  (not sure if enough time was allowed for replication)
All five Flexible Single Master Operations (FSMO) roles were transferred using GUI.
Schema Master, Domain naming master, Infrastructure master, RID master, PDC Emulator.
And have been verified. All roles transferred and the new server 2008 and new server is also the global catalog.
Then to verify new server is handling the role we unplugged the Ethernet cable from the Old server 2000, then went to client stations and re-started them and they would not find the new DC and connect to it.
On the new server when we opened active directory users and computers the domain did not appear.
Verified in DNS manager the A record and reverse pointer were correct.
For some reason the new server is looking to the old server. Even though all roles are moved over and DNS appears to be setup correctly it won’t exist independently.
    What’s missing?
If something was missed or performed wrong, do we have to remove the roles and start from scratch? Or can we re-run adprep and walk the steps again leaving all as-is?

    Hello,
as first step please post an unedited ipconfig /all from the old and new DC/DNS server and one problem client.
It seems that your installation from the new DC wen't well and as described in
    http://msmvps.com/blogs/mweber/archive/2010/02/06/upgrading-an-active-directory-domain-from-windows-server-2000-to-windows-server-2008-or-windows-server-2008-r2.aspx Just check again yourself.
A DC should NEVER be shutdown or just disconnected from a domain, it MUST be demoted correct, as you ruin into replication errors in the event viewer without that steps and you will never be able to install a additional DC with using the same name.
See the end of my article about removal steps.

  • Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac and Win 2000 Server

    Hello guys,
Could you please confirm that the latest version 8.0.15 is compatible with WIN 2000 Server connections? If not, could you please advise which version of Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac is the match in order to connect to a WIN 2000 server.
    Thank you in advance,

    Hello Bogdan
WIN 2000 is supported. See a complete list of supported Windows SKUs here:

  • Windows 2000 Server, and 2TB volume

    Hey there.
So we recently racked a 7TB Xserve RAID, and plugged it into our Cisco FC switch, and Windows isn't playing nice.
I have a 2.2TB RAID5 volume that I have made available to this Windows 2000 Server (SP4) which Disk Management sees, but says in "unreadable". If I split the volume into two LUNs, it sees both 1.1TB volumes just fine.
Is there a 2TB upper limit to Windows 2000, or is there some cocktail of patches I need to install? I'd rather not have to split the LUNs just do use dynamic disks to make a continuous volume on the server...
Oh, and the volume shows up just fine to the OS X 10.3.9 server which is also plugged into the FC switch...
Oh, and a side question - is there a way to force Mac OS X 10.3.9 server to rescan the SCSI bus (Fiber Channel fabric) for disks without rebooting? I find it annoying to have to call up users and tell them to save / logout when I just want to bring a new disk online...

    Then I'd recommend 2003 SP 1
Note, if you do have to slice and then re-assemble the volumes on your 2K server, be sure to do concatenated sets, NOT striped sets, from within Disk Administrator. If you stripe slices on the same RAID set, you're going to cause TONS of extra head seeking, as it tries to read from stripes on different sections of the SAME disk. There will be no performance penalty with concatenated slices, because it will always be reading off all 7 spindles.

  • Netbeans and Windows 2000 Server Problems

I've tried to run netbeans on my windows 2000 server OS a few times. It usually doesn't work out and I have to go back to pcGrasp.
Does anyone out there know of any issues between netbeans and this OS. Is it worth it. I'd like to move away from the .net world and learn j2EE but I'd like to move up my IDE. Netbeans seems like the best choice. Does any experienced individuals out there know of a better one?
This was my latest error with netbeans. From just opening a folder??? I also tried to report it - I still have to wait another hour after I registered before I could HOPEFULLY find where exactly I can report it. Maybe thats why there are so many bugs. They make it impossible to report something they tell you to report to help out.
    A java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException exception has occurred.
    Please report this at http://www.netbeans.org/issues.html,
including a copy of your ide.log file as an attachment.
The ide.log file is located in your C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\.netbeans\3.6\system folder.
    Thanks for anything

I use Windows 2000 Professional and have not problems.
    I would suggest,
    - ensure you have all windows updates.
    - ensure you have JDK 1.4.2_04
    - try eclipse which is also free (From IBM) http://www.eclipse.org/

  • Sap4.7 and sql server 2000 on windows2003:when install di ,error:MDB-05039

    sap4.7 and sql server 2000 on windows2003:
when install database instance ,there is a error,at change  tempdb
MDB-05039:Unable to stop server dev ,
    please help !!!!

Every time you start SQL Server it also creates a new tempdb. When you change the layout (physical structure, size) you have to restart SQL Server in order for these changes to take effect.
It seems that the installation routine has changed the layout (it does that according to your input!) and is now trying to stop and restart SQL Server. When you run into this error, have you tried to stop and restart SQL Server manually? After that choose the Retry option of the installation routine. Just a guess...
Do you have some more log information?

  • Client Installation does Nothing on Windows 2000 and 2003 Server.

6 Virtual machines running Windows 2000 or 2003 Server Enterprise Edition.
Only one (Win 2000) has successfully started and finished the 32bit client installation. Using win32_11gR2_client.

    Why?
    Thank you.

  • OSX and Windows Server 2000 resource forks

Our shop is 95% OSX with a Windows Server 2000 server. There is one application that is sensitive to image file resource forks copied to the server. When the app does a particular operation if there are resource forks in the folder the operation fails.
Is there a way to either strip the forks on the copy operation? Or is there a way to block them in Windows Server?
BTW, the application is a dedicated print server RIP linked to a Durst photographic printer running on Windows XP.

I feel your pain. I have been dealing with the same thing and found the following options:
Try turning on "Services for Macintosh" or SFM on the windows server. I am NOT a windows guy I have had mixed results when my LAN folks have done this for me. In some instances the ._rsrc files don't appear, and this won't fix long name issues if you are having them.
Another way to go w/o touching the windows server...third party.

I have not tried the third party solution yet. I am still convinced there must be some way to have the mac just stop creating the files, but so far I have nothing. The only article apple has that is remotley related addresses .DS_Store files and NOT the ._rsrc files. I tries the edit to com.apple.desktopservices.plist and I still had a server full of ._bsfile.
