Discoverer Desktop (4)- Receiving error Attempt to Open Workbook Failed

Hi,
The reason for this error is multiple people are opening same workbook. This has never been a problem before as the user would receive message: "Open Workbook as Read Only..."
Now they only get the message: "Attempt to Open Workbook Failed."
We have tested here and have determined it is not a generell issue because we have the problem only on two workstations.
I check the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER for diffenerence between the workstations but without any success.
There is no file access problem

We are having exactly the same problem. I've come to the point that there's a problem between Discoverer Desktop 4i and XP SP3.
The scenario we have is:
a) If an user with SP2 creates a workbook and saves it into the network shared folder,
a.1) It can be opened by users with SP2 as many times as the want. They just receive the "Open Workbook as Read Only" warning message.
a.2) Users with SP3 can open it only if the workbook is not open by any other user. After that all users receive the "Attempt to Open..." error message.
a.3) If a user with SP3 makes any change to the workbook and saves it, it doesn't matter which SP version you have, the file becomes "corrupt" and only one user can open it at the same time.
b) If an user with SP3 creates a workbook and saves it into the network shared folder it can only be opened by one user at the same time
I've also made tests and the same error occurs if the .dis file is located in a local directory (c:\My Documents for example). I can not open it twice in my computer in two different discoverer desktop instances, and I have SP3, while another user with SP2 can.
Any ideas? Our Discoverer Desktop version is 4.1.48.06.00

Unable to find error Text for this exception/Attempt To open workbook fail

Hi,
I am getting this error when I am trying to run a workbook. I had changed one of the folders name in the business area. That folder had a item which was one of the parameters of the workbook.
Can somebody please help me revert back.If I want to change any folders name,is it not possible.

You're allowed to change the folder name or the id name (via properties) but just not both at the same time (plus database reports have to be opened and saved).
But just changing the display name for an item shouldn't cause a problem (because Disco doesn't really look for the display name - it's just for us to understand what it is/does).
I think you'd know, but is it possible you changed the id name in properties to one that already existed and therefore someone's got an extension of _1 added?

In installing Adobe XI Pro this error message was received "error 1920 service print spooler failed to start verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services". What does this mean and how can I get this installed?

It very much means what it says - you do not have sufficient administrative privileges and something on your system is blocking the (virtual) PDF printer driver from being installed.

After downloading PSE 13, receive error message cannot open windows temporary internet files

After downloading Photoshop elements 13, I receive an error message as it tries to open (but instead opens my PSE 9 application) and this message appears: "cannot open C:Users\Spears\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.1E5\AV8ZNMD1\Photoshop Elements_13_LS25_win64.7z"
I have been trying various fixes to download this for 2 days now. Can someone please help me?

Did you check if the Firefox file is in that location?
If it isn't there then do a clean (re)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
If the file is there then do a malware check with some malware scan programs.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.<br />

Firefox crashes when I try to attach a file. Seems related to second problem, receive error messages when opening a pdf in adobe (which I've reinstalled twice)

Crash report:
bp-74bcae4f-7091-4121-a809-5d0a12140616 is the crash report.
I have a Toshiba.
When I open my email (gmail, school email) and try to attach a file, firefox immediately crashes and gives me two error messages. first one is a WerFault, i think. I don't know if that's relevant.
Apart from these crashes in Firefox, I am also having the same problem when trying to view or open a pdf in adobe reader, or even open adobe reader itself. It won't try to open, I just receive the error messages. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it two times now. I did this thing suggested online where you go into the control panel and look at all your plugins. Then, "repair" adobe reader - pretty sure it's just a button that says repair. that didn't do anything, of course I also could have done something wrong.
I realize this could be a problem unrelated to Firefox, but I'm doing what I can before I take my laptop in.
Please save me.

Ok two things based on the crash report and the steps you took right before the crash:
# Try to disable scrolling acceleration and restart Firefox. Does it continue to crash?
# Try Safe Mode and do the same task as above with email and the pdf [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]
# Also pdf.js may be helpful to read pdfs in the meantime. You can change the default reader in the Preferences/Options > Application menu of Firefox.
# Try to clear out the downloads folder and update flash to version 14 (that should do it)
IF it crashes again please also provide the new crash signatures and we can take a look :-) Sorry for the crashing :-(

Blackberry Desktop Manager - receiving error

I am having a problem with the Desktop Manager and synching on one of my computers. My home computer synchs no problem at all. The one at work used to but now within 10 seconds of it trying to synch I get the message "The operation terminated unexpectedly". Does anyone know how to fix this?

Installer receives error trying to open

I downloaded Photoshop Elements 12 yesterday and tried to install on a Mac Pro 3,1 with Mavericks installed. The installer errors trying to initialize and offers a message to seek help. I will definitely need help. The download completed normally using Akamai.

Error Message while opening workbook or Query in BEx Analyzer

Hi all,
Whenever I try to open any workbook or query using Bex Analyzer I get an error message saying "Serious error occured while reading history folder" Message class RSOBJS, number 170. But this doesnt stop me from opening the workbook or the query.
Kindly help me to suppress or eliminate this message. I am not able to find this message in the list of messages available in RSRT either.

Does your problem occur in a copied system?
I have same problem in our Quality-BW (copied from productive system). WE are in our QBW not able to activate personalization correct and get the same error messages. I suggest the reason in the fact, that the source-system Myself (QBW) does not work correct. This reason causes that export data sources could not be activated via RFC-Connection.
Please check to activate your source system?
We accept the error messages in our QBW and did not activate the RFC connection.

Error message on opening "assertion failed" what do I do?

The program started working normally but when I was in the middle of adding pictures to a catalogue and creating smart images I accidentally switched light room off and since then I cannot switch it back on. I get the error message "assertion failed" when I click on the icon to open light room. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program that had no effect. I then used to ccleaner to clean the registry in case there were errors that are I reinstalled the program to no avail. I phoned geek squad they took over my computer and try to discover what the error was without success. What do I do?

My discoverer user has this error when using Discoverer:
"database error - ORA-01031: insufficient privileges: Attempt to open workbook failed"
I granted this user:
1)create session
2)select any table
3)global query rewrite
Is there other privileges I must grant to resolve the error. Thank you.

Your Discoverer users need to have access to both the underlying database and the business areas in order for them to be able to query the system.
Business area access is controlled form within the Admin edition using Tools | Security from the menu bar. Make sure your users have access to the same business area(s) that Apps does.
Secondly, the users need to be able to SELECT from the same views, tables and materialized views that the business area uses. There are many ways to do this. The easiest way to do this is to grant the user the SELECT ANY TABLE privilege, which you appear to have grnted. If you do not want to do this then try creating a ROLE that has the necessary grants, GRANT SELECT ON table_name TO role_name, and then grant the role to the user.
A combination of Admin and database privileges solves most data access issues.
Whenever I am creating user accounts, I usually assign these privileges:
CONNECT
RESOURCE
ANALYZE ANY
CREATE PROCEDURE - for Scheduling
CREATE TABLE - for Scheduling
CREATE VIEW - for Scheduling
EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE
GLOBAL QUERY REWRITE - for CBO optimization
UNLIMITED TABLESPACE
SELECT ON SYS.V_$PARAMETER - for Scheduling
EXECUTE ON SYS.DBMS_JOB - for Scheduling
If you have any functions out in the database that you would like the user to be able to use you either need to grant the user execute privileges on those functions or you need to register those functions with the end user layer.

Adobe Muse Error # 3115 when attempting to open a Site

I created a Muse Site on my Desktop. When I attempt to open the site on my laptop I get the following message: "The adobe muse site file cannot be opened error #3115." I have Adobe CC installed on both machines and the file is on my dropbox folder. Other sites created under the same circumstances work fine. I cannot find any relevant documentation. I tried importing a Musegrid widget that the site employs before attempting to open the site but that didn't work. It's a rather simple site. It uses one 3rd party widget: MuseGrid Mega Menu One. Any ideas?

On OS Mavericks, receiving error message -8058?

Recently updated to OS Mavericks, and now, when attempting to copy photos from server folder to server folder or from server folder to desktop, I receive error message -8058?

Found this possible solution: Mac-The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred. | Fun BirdFun Bird. Another solution I came across suggested just restarting the computer.
