  • Documentation links broken?

The Documentation link on the Database Home Page takes me to a page with links to the Oracle XE documentation.
All of those links seem to be broken.

Yes - I was just about to amend my previous response. All the links from the XE documentation home page are broken.
Interestingly, the OTN site has very recently undegone it's semi-annual redesign. Based on past experience, I've found that the 'improvements' in the OTN site every 6 months often result in 1/2 the links being broken until reported.
I wonder what Oracle's policy is about partners and customers mirroring the docco?

  • Oracle Documentation Links no longer work

I have been trying to access the Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 Application Documentation. The Master Index., etc load fines, but when I try to open the Ad,omostratpr's Guide for Oracle Identity Directory, it returns a 404. Being persistent I have tried this over the last 4 hours and it has failed every time.

Just tried the documentation links and they still seem broken. I have just clicked on the link http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/idmanage.1012/b14085/toc.htm
and it returns a 404 page not found. This link is the Identity Management Integration Guide HTML

  • Can Discoverer have link to display documents stored outside the database?

I posted a message some time ago called "Possible for Discoverer to display BLOB type documents stored in database?" and got great answer.
Now our customers are asking if it is possible, from Discoverer, to link somehow to a file stored outside the database on the Unix file system and get their computer to display it? Can anyone tell me if this is possible please?
The only thing I've seen in the documentation that may be related is in Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Configuration Guide, section 10.6 List of Discoverer user preferences. It says there that Discoverer preference ProtocolList can be set so that Discoverer hyperlinks can be set to use protocols such as telnet, but the default is HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP.
THank you in advance if you can help.
    Regards,
    Julie.

    Hi Rod,
I have tried the second method: "create a Oracle directory pointing to the Unix directory containing the files". I have had success with it, but I'd be grateful if you could advise me if you would have done this the same way as described below:
I put two Word docs and two text docs called clob_test1.txt, clob_test2.txt, blob_test1.doc, blob_test2 in the Unix directory corresponding to an Oracle directory called 'EIF'. I thought an extrenal table was needed so that Discoverer would have an object to write a queruy against. So I created a file called lob_test_data.txt with the following contents:
    1,01-JAN-2006,text/plain,clob_test1.txt
    2,02-JAN-2006,text/plain,clob_test2.txt
    3,01-JAN-2006,application/msword,blob_test1.doc
    4,02-JAN-2006,application/msword,blob_test2.
THen I created an external table using the following DDL:
    CREATE TABLE jum_temp_lob_tab (
    file_id NUMBER(10),
    date_content DATE,
    mime_type VARCHAR2(100),
    blob_content BLOB
    ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL
    TYPE ORACLE_LOADER
    DEFAULT DIRECTORY EIF
    ACCESS PARAMETERS
    RECORDS DELIMITED BY NEWLINE
    BADFILE EIF:'lob_tab_%a_%p.bad'
    LOGFILE EIF:'lob_tab_%a_%p.log'
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
    MISSING FIELD VALUES ARE NULL
    file_id CHAR(10),
    date_content CHAR(11) DATE_FORMAT DATE MASK "DD-MON-YYYY",
    mime_type CHAR(100),
    blob_filename CHAR(100)
COLUMN TRANSFORMS (blob_content FROM LOBFILE (blob_filename) FROM (EIF) BLOB)
    LOCATION ('lob_test_data.txt')
    PARALLEL 2
    REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED
then created a Discoverer End User Layer folder against this external table, and used exactly the same technique as we did for downloading the BLOB from the database table (creating a new folder item containing a URL calling a database procedure which calls the Oracle code to download the doc). THis worked, but sometimes my PC didn't seem to know that the Word docs were Word docs and it needed to launch Word. Other times it did manage to do this OK. It always displayed the two .txt files as HTML docs.
Just wondered if you'd be good enough to critique this approach.
    THank you, Julie.

  • Documentation Links are bad

The documentation links for Discoverer are bad (I would assume this applies to other documentation.
None of the HTML or PDF links on this page return a valid result:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/discoverer.html
They all return: "The page cannot be displayed"
    Please remedy ASAP.

Just to clarify here; software downloads (from download.oracle.com) will not work for employees during business hours but documentation will - if you remove *.oracle.com from your browsers proxy exceptions.

  • 'Documentation link fails

The 'Documentation' link on my MII 12.0.4 home page fails to resolve properly.  The link points to 'http://wbhelp.sap.com/manufacturing/xmii_120/{$Language}/43/E80B59AD40719AE10000000A1553F6/content.htm' but my MII account (coming from an LDAP data source) isn't providing the Language variable.  When someone from our Basis group (with administrative rights and also coming from LDAP) uses the link, Language is available as 'en' and the link works properly.
What is the source of the Language variable?  Why is it resolving properly with administrative rights but not developer rights?
    Thanks for the help!
    David Macindoe

The {$Language} in the url comes from the DynamicHomePageLibrary.xsl that builds the home page itself for the logged in user.  Whatever your particular custom home page theme is would likely inclue this xsl file such as:  <xsl:include href="/XMII/CM/xMIIDS/Themes/DynamicHomePageLibrary.xsl"/>
Your Language attribute is part of your profile which is the source of content used by the building process:  /XMII/Illuminator?Service=SystemInfo&Mode=CurrentProfile&Content-Type=text/xml
and then gets pulled into the help url with:
    <xsl:variable name="Language">
        <xsl:value-of select="/Profile/@Language"/>
    </xsl:variable>
You will see at the top of the xml results for the above URL:  <Profile .....Language="en"...... along with other typical ones like IllumLoginName and IllumLoginRoles.
Do you not see this attribute or is it blank?
In fact, /XMII/PropertyAccessServlet?Mode=List which shows all of the name/value pairs in the session should more or less line up with the attributes in your home page profile xml.

    Jeremy

  • Documentation links missing in portal

I'm opening this thread on behalf Tiina. Please kindly help her:
We have updated documentation links in the portal. After the links have been added, they just disappear from the portal.
    Best regards,
    Márcio Leoni on behalf Tiina.

    Hi,
you have to import some libraries (in your case it is com.sap.portal.navigation.api_service_api.jar).
You can find it on the server installaton filesystem here:
    \usr\sap\EXX\JC0XX\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.navigation.api_service\lib\com.sap.portal.navigation.api_service_api.jar
If you cannot find some classes to import I use this technique: I go to filesystem of the portal to the \usr\sap\EXX\JC0XX\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\ directory (using TotalCommander in my case) and let it search for desired class (in your case it is INavigationNode.class) - you have to set to search also archives (jar files are zipped classes). Now I copy this JAR to my local filesystem and add the library to the project.

  • Latest Flash Player For Windows 8 x86 - link broken?

    Hi all,
Is it my imagination or is the download link broken from W8 x86?
    The webpage is here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2880289
But when you click on the the link for W8:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=711cb843-123e-4b69-a47c-7bd017da3 0a0
it redirects to a generic search page.
    Anyone got a working link?
    Cheers,
    Mike

Yup, I fully understand that those links are on Microsofts website but I was alerting to the fact that this is for an Adobe product, and the links are borked.
Perhaps I'm naively thinking that someone from Adobe will read this and contact MS (I've already posted on MS forums).
The unforunate thing is that as its Windows 8, you *can't* install directly from Adobe. It's MS or nothing so the download links from Adobe don't help - but thanks anyway!

Guess all I can do is keep my finger crossed that someone will wake up and fix the links....
