Hi i get the following error while connecting to discoverer.How can i solve this .please help
A POPUP WINDOW APPEARS AND DISPLAYS THIS MESSAGE
oracle BI DISCOVERER

Aram,
Please mention the application release and the discoverer version.
Was this working before? Any changes have been done recently?
Did you try to bounce the discoverer services and see if this help? If you still get the same error, please check the discoverer log file for details.

We are receiving foll errors in PROD ITS after install on new servers, we have verified all the config & it looks good. but we get following script errors in IE.
scripting Errors are as follows in sequence :-
1>'mySessionInfo' is null or not an object
2>'self.myOnloadhdlF2' is null or not an object.
3>'self.myOnloadhdlF1' is null or not an object.
4>'ITS_Frameset' is undefined.
We have done ITS setup many many times, but never came across this error. please advise.

Hi all,
we had nearly the same errors.
But not after installation. We try to call a R/3 transaction from the portal with an iView. This works all the time. Since a few days the described errors came up.
I don´t know what to do, ´cause nobody did any changes.
@Chandra: Could you fix your problems in the meanwhile. If yes, who did you do that.
@Henning: Any suggestions??

Discoverer error question

Hi,
I had a Discoverer user receive the following error message when trying to log into Discoverer. The user waited for a while and then was able to log in. I suspect his Java might be corrupted but I wanted to see if there was anything else I should look at
"Unable to connect to the Discoverer server: null. Please contract your Oracle Application server administrator."

While Java could be a cause I think it is highly unlikely. More likely you could have had a network issue or the server was temporarilly unavailable.

Discoverer Error - "Failed to open document"

Hi,
I'm having this wierd problem. Sometimes, I get a message "
Failed to open Document" error on Discoverer 4 User edition. I
cannot open the worksheet I create. It does not display any
error code or message.
Please advice

I assume that you created the workbook in Discoverer Desktop and it does not work in either Plus or viewer. Does recreating the workbook under a new name correct the problem? IF not can you recreate the workbooks through Discoverer Plus and format the layout through the Discoverer Desktop. Does this fix the problem?

End User Layer - 5.1.1.0.0.0
End User Layer Library - 10.1.2.55.26
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bi
Today, suddenly when I was creating a report, got some error for the first time. Even with this error report was populated with data. So, dont know what caused this. Below is the error:

Reason: java.lang.illlegalStateException: TranslatedEventSupport

Hi Shah,
If this is a workbook corruption issue, perhaps you can go to another instance (e.g. your test or development instance) and see if this workbook is throwing this error there. If it works in this environment, your next task would be to identify the differences between the instance end user layers (and from this perhaps identify and correct the root cause).
If you strongly feel like there are no differences in the end user layer, perhaps consider exporting/importing the working copy into the instance you are working in.

Has anybody ever come across this error:
Duplicate element definition: Function Argument with identifier 'P_FOREIGN_KEY_ID'.

Reason is, that I would love to know the answer.
My thinking is that when you move an EUL from one machine to another (ie: dev to prod), then you can export, import, etc., save all the reports to disk, bring them in, etc.
But a big hole in my knowledge is when you set up an EUL for cubes (ie: OLAP), you also have to set up a catalog - not the EUL, but another storage vehicle, correct?
Therefore, when trying the move it does indeed sound as if there's more steps involved as you also need to bring over the catalog.
So, did you ever get an answer to this quesiton?

Can't Connect to Discoverer: Error Message

I came into work this morning and found the users cannot connect to Discoverer. I can't either. I was hoping to possibly get some help here. Has anyone received the error message I am about to post? I would be very grateful for any help! Here is the error message in full:

Ok, the fire has been put out. Our dba just rebooted the server Disco was running on and it seemed to fix the problem. We still don't know why it happened, so if anyone recognizes that error, I wouldn't mind a heads-up on why it occured in the 1st place if you know.

�Table space is not accessible�.This error means that the database program cannot access one of possibly many data files that makes up the database. This problem has nothing to do with JDBC or Java; and the solution may depend on features unique to DB2. You need to read your DB2 documentation or ask help in a DB2 forum.

Discoverer Error

I am getting "Join configuration cannot be resolved Reason : more than 1 of the detail folder uses non-aggregated items." while developing discoverer report using disc. desktop . When we can get this error and how to avoid it.

Hi Minakshi
In its simplest form a star schema is one where you have one central folder with all of the other folders joined to it using a 1:N join from the outer folders to the central folder. None of the outer folders join to each other and none of the outer folders have joins to any sub folders. This is the ideal data model to work with in Discoverer, if you can do it.
A snowflake is when there is still a central folder with other folders radiating outwards. However, the outer folders themself join to other folders which in turn join to even more. Eventually you end up with the same folder being joined by two or more other folders, with there being more than one way to get from A to B. This is when you get the error you have described.
The solution, as commented by Russ, Esther and others, is to use a database view where you take control of the joins, as opposed to letting Discoverer decide. Don't be afraid of database views - they have their place in this Discovever world as do materialized views, VPDs, partitions, and other complex constructs that some organizations shy away from just because of the complexity.

Nevermind, I'm a moron. Right at the end of the Flex Builder
3 install, it specifically says to open Flex for the first time as
an administrator (right click the Flex application icon and choose

this error is beacuse the variable substution which is specified in the rceiver file adapter is failling....
ROOT cause:
goto the receiver file adapter of the interface you have moved into PRD...you will c the filename somethinglike this

check the foeld which is refering from the target strcuutre...the data is not coming into this field of variable substuition...so it is thorwoing this error.....
this is considering the variable substution path is right? i belive it is right since you haev omved this to PRD from Devlopment...if this was working in development...check the data is coming in that field.
wehen you did a tranposrt into PRD you went to the change list did u edit the rceiver adapter mandatory fields according to the PRD envinorment? dd u also make sure the variabel substution is not touched when you did this?

Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer - Error in Final Setup

I have followed multiple setup instructions now to try and get Forms working on my local machine.
Including the following:
Forms 11g - Installation steps for a developer machine
I have done the following on a Windows 7 64bit Setup:
Installed Oracle 11g Database
Installed Weblogic 64 bit using the wls1033_generic.jar with a 64 bit JDK
Installed Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer, but when I get to the last stage where it goes through steps they all end up as failed and I can get no further, what would cause this?
