Discoverer Installation details

HI Gurus,
I am planning to install discoverer for my reporting purpose.
CAn anybody tell me the hardware and software requiremnet for the same and any installation document.
I am having oracle 9i and oracle 9i IDS installed on my machine.
Any help would be appericiated.

Hi,
Can we populate the IB Installation Details screen (IB Transaction) details automatically, while creating an order through order import?
My requirement is to create an IB Transaction automatically i.e populate CSI_T_TXN_LINE_DETAILS while importing the order.
I got below records in oe_lines_iface_all
1. IB_OWNER
2.ib_location
3. ib_installation_location.
However, these do not seem to be creating IB transactions.

You can use API call 'csi_t_txn_details_grp.create_transaction_dtls'

IMPORT OF INSTALLATION DETAILS USING API

We have got orders in the existing 11.5.10 system now we want to import the systems from our legacy system and link them to the orders. I know we can create the systems using CSI_SYSTEM_PUB but how do we link them to order lines so that they are visable in order line installation details. Is there a api to do this? Please help.

There is no public API but a group API is available. Assuming that you have already created transaction lines (using CSI_T_TXN_DETAILS_GRP) you can use CSI_T_TXN_SYSTEMS_GRP to assign systems. So first you create transaction lines and then systems.

I do not believe Oracle offers any certifications for Discoverer as it is a sunset product.

Installation Details from Charges tab in Service Request

Hi,
I have a question about filling out the installation details in the Charges tab of the service request form. While doing RMA I know that we can provide the return item instance details in the charges tab. But the question is if the returned item is a sub component I need to provide the Parent Instance details also. Where do I enter that on the charges tab? Is there a way to enter the parent instance information or not?
Can you please suggest alternate solutions if any?

Discoverer Installation Steps.

Hello Seniors,
i have solaris server for oracle 9i database server,
and solaris server for oracle apps 11.5.10.2 application server.
now, i want to create a separate discover server. is it possible to create a separate discoverer server. is there any discoverer server installation version avaliable.
or i have to use application server as a discoverer server, then in this case what is the effect on application server while using discoverer reports in bulk.
please, guide me the steps.

You need to install another instance of the Application Server specific for Discoverer.

Discoverer installation issue

Hay all,
I have an error ORA - 00942 when I login into Discoverer. This is a new installation. Anyone can help me !!!

Do you get this error while using the Admin tool or user editon?
Since this is a new installation I would drop the EUL and recreate it. This may fix the problem. If the problem persist
you may need to check your Admin User prives. This is covered within the installation I guide I think.

Problem in Discoverer installation.

Hi,
When i am trying to install Oracle BI tools for Discoverer i am getting the problem with Swap memory.
Actual Swap memory :1512 MB
Required Swap memory :1535 MB
Please suggest me how to increase Swap memory.

You increase the swap memory or virtual memory by going to
Control Panel>System>Advanced Tab, Click on performance settings>Advanced tab, You see the under Virtual memory
Total paging file... 1536.
You can click change button and increase that within the limits depending on RAM you have.

X-Fi Xtreme Gamer on Windows 7: Installation details

? On X-Fi Xtreme gamer support page there is officially only driver for W7.
What about Alchemy, Console Launcher etc? Is it the same as W Vista?
When I run Creative Software AutoUpdate it says "Critical" for several versions of Console Launcher. The most newer one is the smallest one in MBs. So what should I install. All versions, or just the last one?

Edit: Creative made this really confusing. First of all,? there is no THX console when I download and install driver from web. So, I need to insert Creative disc with old drivers, start the installation and choose only THX to install. It's really annoying. Why don't they implement thx in console installation, or driver installation? Second thing is about AutoUpdate. It says that I need to install all Console Launchers, but in fact every newer version doesn't update the old one, but removes it.

I have major problems with my Xfi in Win 7 64 right now as well. The Console works fine from Vista if you want to download that. Creative is being very lazy about updating there drivers at this point as you can see from all the upset posts in the Win 7 forums. Just hang tight like the rest of us :*(

Discoverer Installation error

I am trying to install Discoverer Admin (4.1.37) on my PC (W2k) running 9.0.1 and 8.1.7 client but it tells me that Oracle home already is used for 8.1.7 and can't be used for this. Can anyone help?

I have already had this problem and I have do that:
1- go to the registry
2- Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
3- SOFTWARE
4- ORACLE
5- Edit the key ORACLE_HOME, change it for the Discoverer Oracle Home.
It suppose to work!

Discoverer installation problem

Hi I want to install Discoverer 4.1.37 on my PC which already has oracle 9i database. I choose the default exisiting oracle home for discoverer. But I am getting error saying that C:\oracle\ora92 is already used as oracle home for Oracle Beta 82 and cant be used as oracle home for 'nt'.
I have windows XP operating system. And I am assuming that this Discoverer is only for NT OS. Is this true? If so where can I get Discoverer download for XP which will work on Oracle 9i database.

Hope you installed java jdk before started installing discoverer.
If not we need to install jdk 1.4 or higher versions it contains jre etc.

BI installation details

hi guys,
how much HD space is needed to insatall BI 7.

This totally depends on how many BI contenets you install ...i.e. for which area...?
But what I feel is this requires very small amount of space with respect to the data space on server.
This will be in the range of 9 to 10 Mb
