Discoverer Monitoring Dashboard

Please take a look at this dashboard on how to monitor different EULs and objects.

Please share your input if this could be useful in any way, how it can be enhanced further?
Thanks

Nilesh.
I took a look at this - I believe - a couple of months ago. May have been an earlier version but not sure.
I'm going on memory here, but at the time I thought the idea was interesting in that you've taken - I believe - command line interface commands (Java version I would expect) but use a Java interface to wrap them around.
So it's a good concept as we alway whine on this board (at least I do) why someone hasn't bothered to use a Java interface into the Disco Admin program. But again, I believe it's simply passing command line commands, right?
If the program was expanded to be able to use Java APIs into Disco Admin - I think this is possible - then wouldn't that be the next great leap forward - and again be useful for newer - or more-experienced-but-don't-want-to-manually-do-it Disco Administrators?
Just my 2 cents. Good job as again, I haven't seen anyone do the first step via Java before.

  • Central monitoring Dashboard

    Hi,
Currently we have a requirement where we have to develop a Central Monitoring Dashboard where we can monitor the health of SAP as well no SAP systems. We are trying to build a custom dashboard of our own.
To do that, we are looking for pointers on:
1.Methods/Logic for creating the dashboard(using sap, java or any other technology)
    2.Contents of the dashboard
Your inputs would be highly appreciated
    Regards,
    Anirban

    Hi,
There are few dashboards available in Wily Introscope already & you can use solution manager as well for centralized monitoring of the entire landscape.
But, all depends what do you intend to do with this dashboard.

  • "Polling not started" on VPN Monitor Dashboard

I always get the message "Polling not started" on VPN Monitor Dashboard for the Pix firewall device I have in my list.
Is there any way to trigger polling ?
    Thank you for your help.

One possible reason : wrong community string etc. By default, it should run every five minutes

  • OSB SB Console - Operations Dashboard /Monitoring/Dashboard/Server Health - Purge Alerts/Errors

OSB SB Console - Operations Dashboard /Monitoring/Dashboard/Server Health
has lots of errors/alerts/warnings that have not been purged. I don't see any provision to purge these alerts/messages ?
    1> How do I Purge these alerts/errors/messages
2> How do I configure these
    Thank you!

    Hi,
Go to operation, Pipeline Alerts (or SLA alerts depending on type). On the right site click on the Extended Alert History.
In this page that follows you can click on the "Purge Alert History" link to purge all messages.
For auto purging you can follow the steps below:
Go in the Administration Console to Diagnostics -> Archives
Then, for each OSB server add a Data Retirement Policy
Choose a Custom Archive, and its name is the well known “CUSTOM/com.bea.wli.monitoring.pipeline.alert”.
You can retirement age (in hours) for example 336 (14 days) and the interval of purging for example every 24 hours (retirement period) at 00:00 (retirement time = 0).

  • Services Monitoring Dashboard in OEM

when I tried to run Service Monitoring Dashboard in OEM, one of the screen ask for the "Web Application to included in this report" so I was trying to picl the web site "EM WEbsite" (the only one target type that I have in my GRID), two questions
    1. what is this EM Website for?
    2. right now it show as down, do I need for it to be up? everything in my GRID seems to work ok but this guy is down and I don't know what it's for.
    Thanks,

    The EM website is EM's user interface - i.e. <hostname>:<port number>/em.
Service Leve Management (SLM) in Enterprise Manager is designed to help you model the service level agreement or operational level agreement that you define between your business users and IT, and between IT groups. To monitor the service level of applications, SLM is typically used with EM's synthetic transaction monitoring capabilities. For example, you may want to define synthetic transactions to simulate end users logging into your application, issuing queries, clicking on links, etc... in order to collect controlled measurements of application performance and availability.
Since Enterprise Manager itself is an application, we decided to set up a test to monitor it at well. What you typically want to do is to take the base setup that we provide to you, and add more beacons. Beacons are synthetic transaction "robots" that are used to send these synthetic transactions to the applications. For example, if your data center where EM is located is in the U.S., and you have administrators logging in from the U.K., you may want to deploy a beacon at their location so that the beacon can test from their location whether they can access EM or not. I am not sure why your EM website is down. Chances are something changed in your EM setup and the synthetic transaction is no longer valid. All you have to do is replace the existing test with a new one. At any case, the EM website being down is not going to affect your use of SLM in EM.
    Hope this helps.

  • Monitoring Dashboard - Syslog Alerts portlet (Prime LMS appliance)

We are using the Prime LMS appliance and have upgraded to 4.2.3.
Nothing is showing in the Syslog Alerts portlet on the Monitoring Dashboard.
If I click on the portlet title I go to the 24 Hour Syslog Report page.
This page has the standard settings and is set to run the report every 24 hours.
If I run it immediately, I get a nice long report of syslogs.
Nothing show in the portlet though.
I do not think DNS is populated with the device names & ip addresses (unsure how important this is).
Currently using the sysname (from SNMP) for device naming.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Mark.

  • Weblogic server monitoring dashboard - no data shown

    This is what I did:
    1. Clicked the “Monitoring Dashboard” from Weblogic console
    2. On the left pane, under “Build-in views”, clicked “JMS Runtime”
    3. Click the green start buttion
On the right pane, there are two sections, however both are blank - no data/graphs displayed.
Everything seems normal, but simply no data. Why?

    Hi,
It should work. Is this a single server or a clustered environment?
What happens if you do the same, but selecting "JVM Runtime Heap", instead?
    Does it work?
Which browser/version are you using? I'm asking, because Internet Explorer 6 for example would be very slow, and hang some times.

    Fabio Douek.

  • PI Monitoring dashboard in SOLAMN 7.0 EHP1

The functionality of reviewing your PI components through Solution manager is
mentioned in many presentation of SOLMAN configuration and in sap.help.
However it is only documented in SOLMAN 7.1 documents.
Are you familair with PI Monitoring as part of Solution manager configuration using transaction SOLMAN_SETUP
    for ver. 7.01 SP 26 ?

    Hello,
The PI dashboards are available only in Solution Manager 7.1
For EHP1 you have the regular monitoring tools: Wily Introscope and the E2E Workload Analysis.

    Hi All,
I have a MP to monitor a scheduled task and get the last run status of the task and fire an alert if it is sort of not running.
The alert is getting generated and getting closed for every 15 min(schedule time of the monitor). But this alert is getting repeated. I dont see any fault in my mp.

    Hi,
Why not to use a event based monitor to detect the Task Schedule running status? I am not familar with VB script, the suggestion I can give is you need to check if the script cannot properly detect the running result of the task Schedule.

  • Best practice to monitor 10gR3 OSB performance using JMX API?

    Hi guys,
I need some advice on the best practice to monitor 10gR3 OSB performance using JMX API.
Jus to show I have done my home work, I managed to get the JMX sample code from
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/jmx_monitoring/example.html#wp1109828
    working.
The following is the list of options I am think about:
    * Set up: I have a cluster of one 1 admin server with 2 managed servers, which managed server runs an instance of OSB
    * What I try to achieve:
    - use JMX API to collect OSB stats data periodically as in sample code above then save data as a record to a
         database table
    Options/ideas:
    1. Simplest approach: Run the modified version of JMX sample on the Admin Server to save stats data to database
regularly. I can't see problems with this one ...
    2. Use WLI to schedule the Task of collecting stats data regularly. May be overkill if option 1 above is good for production
    3. Deploy a simple web app on Admin Server, say a simple servlet that displays a simple page to start/stop and configure
data collection interval for the timer
What approach would you experts recommend?
BTW, the caveats os using JMX in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/jmx_monitoring/concepts.html#wp1095673
    says
Oracle strongly discourages using this API in a concurrent manner with more than one thread or process. This is because a reset performed in
one thread or process is not visible to another threads or processes. This caveat also applies to resets performed from the Monitoring Dashboard of
the Oracle Service Bus Console, as such resets are not visible to this API.
Under what scenario would I be breaking this rule? I am a little worried about its statement
discourages using this API in a concurrent manner with more than one thread or process
    Thanks in advance,
    Sam

    Hi Manoj,
Thanks for getting back. I am afraid configuring aggregation interval from Dashboard doesn't solve problem as I need to collect stats data of endpoint URI or in hourly or daily basis, then output to CSV files so line graphs can be drawn for chosen applications.
Just for those who may be interested. It's not possible to use SQL to query database tables to extract OSB stats for a specified time period, say 9am - 5pm. I raised a support case already and the response I got back is 'No'.
That means using JMX API will be the way to go :)
Has anyone actually done this kind of OSB stats report and care to give some pointers?
I am thinking of using 7 or 1 days as the aggregation interval set in Dashboard of OSB admin console then collects stats data using JMX(as described in previous link) hourly using WebLogic Server JMX Timer Service as described in
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/jmxinst/timer.html instead of Java's Timer class.
Not sure if this is the best practice.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Sam

  • How to Monitor  ALBPM  APPS with Weblogic Portals

    Hi All,
    I am new to BPM,
I have created a sample application with roles and participants ,My Requirement is i need to monitor the ALBPM Application through weblogic 9.2 Portals ,
Please let me know if any one is working on this kind of scenario
    Thanks

Monitoring examples can be found here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=7340
The WebLogic monitoring dashboard can be reached at: http://hostname:7001/console/dashboard.
For example, to view how the memory of the individual JVMs are doing you can start the JVM Runtime Heap view.
(Some examples can be found here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=7716 - in the 'testing' section.)

  • New monitoring tool for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP2 & higher

Did you know that there is a new monitoring tool available for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1?
It produces reports that summarise the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise system landscape and its configuration, helps out with troubleshooting issues and points out areas of concern.
It also delivers a lot of help with troubleshooting issues via Wily Introscope monitoring dashboards, an 'investigator' and transaction tracing.
You can read more about it in this blog: /people/miles.escow/blog/2010/12/01/remote-support-component

    Hi,
we support official IBM Tivoli and Mircosoft SMS.
Check google with "businessobjects enterprise monitoring" and you will find a lot of other vendors. maybe you find yours.

  • How to configure reload interval on dashboard

    Hi,
I am using dashboards to monitor status and availability.
The dashboard page is being refreshed every 5 min. Is there any way to change the refresh interval?
Furthermore after a period of time I get this message: "Auto reload is disabled. Please refresh the page to enable"
Is there any way to configure the dashboard so that it will never disable the auto reload feature?
    Best Regards,

    Hi,
Apparently there are 2 types of dashboard. One that you can launch from within a system and on that dashboard I can find the 'customize' link.
But the dashboard I am using is one that can be created from the 'Reports' tab. There is a 'Services Monitoring Dashboard' which I am using to display status and service level for a set of services. On that dashboard there is no 'customize' link in the top right corner. So how can I set the refresh/reload interval on that page?
After some time using that dashboard I also get this message: "Auto reload has been disabled". Then I can click the 'Refresh' button and the dashboard will continue to refresh for some time again. Can I configure the dashboard so that it will continue to refresh all day long?
