Discoverer on Apps Server 10.1.3.2.0

Hi,
We're trying to install Apps Server 10.1.3.2.0 and have BI Publisher and Discoverer on it.
Q1. Is it possible to install Discoverer in Apps Server 10.1.3.2.0. Has any one tried this?
Q2. To integrate BI Publisher and Discoverer (with the caveat that we can install them both successfully on 10.1.3.2.0), what web services patch goes for Discoverer?
Any help with this is highly appreciated!
-Esther

Answering my own question ---
Apps Server 10.1.3.2.0 doesn't come with Discoverer. Discoverer will still be on AS 10.1.2.2.0 with latest patch (CP6) + Web Services Patch for integration with BI Publisher.

  • 10.1.2 App Server and Discoverer

    Hello,
I'm attempting to install and configure Discoverer. I have installed the 10.1.2 Infrastructure successfully. As I read the docs for Installing the MidTier, I run into confusion. in part 7 of the Oracle Application Server (10.1.2) Quick Installation Guide, titled Installing Portal and Wireless or Business Intelligence and Forms Developer Topology. It claims that I will have a Business Intelligence and Forms option on the Installation Type screen. Well, this is not true. I have the following options after I choose Mid Tier: J2EE & Web Cache and Portal and Wireless. I don't have a BI & Forms option. Now, I did put the 3 cd's of BI on the machine in assuming that I will need them.
Do I need to install J2EE & Web Cache OR Portal and Wireless from the App Server Disk, or do I just need to install Bus. Intelligence from the 3 BI cd's? The documentation seems to have been a quick copy/paste from a previous version with pieces/steps missing. Thanks in advance,
    Kelly

    Hi Kelly,
The Oracle Application Server Middle Tier Installation should have the BI option - I just installed the Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.0 & as mentioned on the Installer Page, I saw have all these products :-

  • Oracle Discoverer with Apps 11.5.10 : Apps server side settings???

    Hi All!
We have Oracle Apps 11.5.10 set up on our Apps server. The Discoverer Services status is 'started'.
Can someone tell me what settings are required to be done on Apps server in order to create an EUL or to use the Apps BI reports?
Is there any note or document that can be useful?
    Thanks and regards,
    Aparna

    Hi Aparna
If you haven't seen that note or followed its steps yet, take a deep breath because its quite involved. From scratch it will probably take at least a day to go through it. Also, please make sure you follow every step and don't try to jump ahead. Many of the one-liners are very important and if missed will make it not work right.
The good thing though is that 100s of companies have gone through the same document so you can be reassured that it does work.
If you've not installed Discoverer in Apps mode yet and you'd like some screenshots of how Apps mode is set up in Discoverer, I have a white paper on my website that walks you through at least that part. Here's a link: http://learndiscoverer.com/downloads/downloads.htm

  • Upgrading My Oracle App Server from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3 without uninstalling ?

    Hi All,
Is their any way we can just upgrade the app server from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3 with uninstalling the older 10.1.2 and reinstalling 10.1.3 ?
    Thanks
    Raghavendra

No and yes. Please note that 10.1.2 is a full release and 10.1.3 is a Java only release, i.e. no Portal, Forms, Reports, Discoverer, Web Cache etc.
Please check out the document "Oracle Application Server Upgrade and Compatibility Guide" on the Documentation Disk for 10.1.3.
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/getstart.htm
Check chapter 1.2 "What Does It Mean to Upgrade to 10g Release 3 (10.1.3)?"

  • How do I clear the Disco cache on App Server 9.0.4

Can anyone tell me how I can clear the Discoverer cache installed on 9.0.4 Oracle App Server? Can it be done using App Server Control, is there command line syntax I can use?
    Thanks

    Hi Andy
I think the only way to get the memory back is to bounce the server. Sorry.

  • App Server Install

    Hi
I would just like to find out which install of App Server 10g i would need
On Oracle OTN there are 2 downloads available :
    - 10g AS – BI (Includes Apache & Discoverer, does not include Internet Directory etc…)
    - 10gAS – Full install
Currently I’ve downloaded & created test instance of 10g BI (Apache + Discoverer) only.
Which components would i need if i wanted to write webservices in Jdev and Deploy Them to the App Server
    Thanks

Sometimes, simply rebooting the system helps. That brings up/down some of the services whose true status is not reflected otherwise.
Almost always when I had any issue with de-installation or a corrupt installation, reboot helped.
Did you reboot the system after installation?

  • SQL Portlets - Executing across db link from app server db to DataWarehouse

    Hi
We are using Ora App Server 10.2.
Discoverer Portlets saved on app server db, execute their SQL direct to our DataWarehouse (Oracle 9r2) and this works fine.
However, when we use SQL portlets, the SQL has to be coded with db links from our app server db to our Datawarehouse. This is not ideal.
Does any know how you can use SQL Portlets without using db links?
    Thanks
    Colm

Try creating your portlets as java providers using jdbc instead of in PL/SQL.
    Cheers,
    Mick.

  • Cannot start Infra and App Server after reboot

I have installed iAS 10.1.2.0.2. on Solaris 2.9 -infra and appserver on same box. After installation I was able to configure Discoverer etc. The machine was rebooted recently and I cannot get the infrastructure and app server to start. opmnctl startall just hangs.

I think borkur is probably right.
We have our midtiers on different machines from the infra, but nonetheless, you could use the same sort of startup script.
What I do is go into a wget wait loop on the mid-tiers before trying to opmnctl start them:
    #! /bin/bash
    # script waitfordas
    DAS_RESPONDING=`wget -q -O - http://infra.mycompany.com:7777/oiddas > /dev/null; echo $?`
echo Waiting for DAS to be up on infra.mycompany.com...
    while [ "$DAS_RESPONDING" -eq 1 ]
    do
    sleep 10
echo Waiting for DAS to be up on infra.mycompany.com...
    DAS_RESPONDING=`wget -q -O - http://infra.mycompany.com:7777/oiddas > /dev/null; echo $?`
    done
    echo DAS responded.
Then I call this in my startup script:
    #! /bin/bash
    # oracleas Start/Stop the Oracle Application Server
    # chkconfig: 2345 99 10

  • SE One Edition of App server

I noticed an article from InfoWorld
    http://www.infoworld.com/article/04/08/12/HNoramidmarket_1.html
that mentioned an upcoming SE One edition of the Oracle app server. The article was not clear which components will be included with this server. Does anyone know if Forms/Reports are included?
    thanks,
    -Tony

    Hi,
Oracle Application Server 10g Standard Edition One will NOT include Forms and BI tools (Reports and Discoverer). It is almost the same as Standard Edition, but will have lower price and two limitations - max. 2 CPU can be licensed and will be available for Windows and Linux only.

  • Disco App Server high CPU usage, Disco Applet freezes, tuning possible?

    Hi again,
so I am facing again a dramatic performance issue with our Discoverer.
I have a cross-table report with ten page items, one datapoint, a percentage calculation and a total.
After querying the data from the DB, building the report (calculating total and percentages) takes 50 seconds, Disco Applet is freezed, App Server shows high CPU load (one core about 60%, other three cores about 20%). The report fetches 5600 rows, which is quite nothing.
    Disco Version: 10.1.2.54.25 (CPU IV).
Are there any parameters / settings on the application server to improve the performance at this place?
    Thanks in advance,
    Christian

I found the solution for this special problem: the total in the report was the cause. Without it, the report reacts as I expect it.
Nevertheless, other reports (approx. 300.000 rows of data in a crosstab) with four page items also cause this high CPU load on the AS and freeze Disco for some half a minute. Our costumers do complain about this as it always seems that Disco hung up.
Any suggestions on how to tune the AS?
    Regards,
    Christian

  • Using Office Web Apps Server with SharePoint Foundation 2013

I want to know whether I can configure Office Web Apps server to edit Excel documents on a SharePoint Foundation 2013 site.
I came across a TechNet article that states that "When used together with SharePoint Server 2013, Office Web Apps Server provides updated versions of Word Web App, Excel Web App, PowerPoint Web App, and OneNote Web App".
However, later in the same article, it states "If your organization licenses Office 2013 through a Volume Licensing program, you can enable Office Web Apps editing for SharePoint 2013 on-premises" (without mentioning Foundation or Server).

    Hi Lemesnil,
The Office Web App server should support the Edit licenses for SharePoin Foundation 2013, Office Web App is free to
download, you can also try installing and configuring in a test environment, see more from the below article applied to SharePoint Foundation 2013.

hi, i am running a background job in bw and for that created a file on the application server.now how do i delete that file.to create the file i just gave the name in the bw and the file got created.i am not able to find how to delete it.
    or

    hi,
but using DELETE DATASET u can remove file for app server.
If u want to delete the data alone then give the same name without data it will overwrite.
U can check it in AL11.

U can also use the function module - EPS_DELETE_FILE

    *********** UPTO HERE **********
Previously I am able to start the server and was able to test an application. But, this time somehow it failed to start.
I have checked the port numbers whether they are in use. But, all the port numbers required for the app server are free. I have checked it through "netstat -a".
    thanks in advance,
    -Ranjan

  • Error in downloading jars through jnlp from Oracle 10.1.3 App Server

I am working on migrating an application (containing two WARs) from Resin servlet server to Oracle 10.1.3 App Server. The migration was unit tested successfully. One of the WARs was implemented as a web service that downloaded JARs to the client PC through jnlp. When I tried to combine the two WARs into one (application) WAR, some of the JARs failed to download with an error message stating that they were "corrupted". 5 of the 6 "corrupted" contain native code, although two other native code JARs were able to download successfully.
    Most of the time the jnlp failure was accompanied with this error: WARNING: Exception returned by remote server: {0}

Why is the jnlp failing when the WARs are part of the (main) application, but OK when it is part of a web service WAR? How can I overcome this problem?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Marc ,
    Thanks for your reply.....
Did you mentioning the script (upgrade_10131_
10133_oracle.sql) in the orabpel. I had run this script after applying the patch.
Still iam facing the same issue.
    what need to be done?
Could you please help me on this, because I need to do the Fault Handling Framework in BPEL and so i need the faultpolicy folder to be present.
Since I got the folder by applying the patch, but what happend is when i try to check out for the activity status in the BPEL Console Activity tab it is showing the error as mentioned earlier. Any problem with patch implementation or any bug is there. So far i done the patch installation successfully without error and i upgraded the orabpel schema using the mentioned script also. Any other things i need to do?
    Regards,
    Ashok.
