Discoverer Portlet Refresh Date

I have a Discoverer Portlet on a Portal page. Is there any way I can hide or not show the Last Refresh Date and Next Refresh Date from Discoverer Portlet?
Here's an example:
Graph or Gauge displayed and then at bottom there is:
Last Refresh Date           3/31/06 10:46 AM
Next Refresh Date           4/1/06 9:01 AM
Thanks in advance,

If anyone's interested, i found a blog that shows how to remove it.

  • Discoverer Portlets - Refresh Job

    Hello Everybody,
I have a clarification related to the Discoverer Reports Portlets.
The Refresh of Discoverer Reports Portlets can be Scheduled to run as job.
I would like to know where can i find the information of the refresh of portlets jobs.
I am currently looking into the Portal Schema to find the table.
    Thanks & Regards
    Salih KM

You can set the scheduled refresh to occur at your chosen time automatically. It works pretty good compared to manual refresh even with parameter based portlets.
For example if you want to refresh every week on Monday @ 7AM type in may 12, 2008 and also 7:00AM and say refresh weekly.
    Hope this helps,

  • How to change Refresh Time in  a Discoverer Portlet?

    Hi,
I have added a discoverer portlet to my main portal page. The minimum refresh time for the discoverer page i could set is 1 hour. Is there any way i could change it to 1 min as this is getting real time data in the database which i would like to display immediately.
Any help/suggestion is most welcome. Thanks in advance.

  • Single Worksheet Viewer used in portlets shows data only in English

    Hi all,
We have a problem with Discoverer portlets displaying data only in English:
Our MOLAP cubes contain data in English and in Bulgarian. We have two public connections - one set to EN and the second to BG language.
Into the portal we have two pages - first one contains Discoverer List of Worksheets and Discoverer Single Worksheet portlets, both using the EN connection, second page is similar but using the BG connection.
When we open a worksheet from a portlet set to BG it always shows the data in EN. Same worksheet when opened from the stand-alone Viewer shows the data correctly.
We found a Metalink note 395836.1 which says that Oracle have implemented a Single Worksheet Viewer since version 10.1.2 that is used in Discoverer portlets instead of the standard Viewer. There is also an explanation how to revert to the standard Viewer but only for the public users to the portal. We tested it and it works but we need it for the users that log into the portal.
That makes us thing that the problem is related to this Single Worksheet Viewer.
Has anyone fased this problem? Any ideas how to solve it?
    Regards,

    Hi,
I opened a SR in Metalink and the answer from the support team is:
"When the user "creates" the Disco Portlet, the language defined in the
browser, in this case English, will be the language used when
displaying the data in the SSO portlets.
And the workaround someone to be able to publish the portlet in different language is to change the default browser language to the desired language before publishing the portlet. We tested it as follows:
    1. Changed the browser language to Bulgarian - for IE (Tools - Internet Options - General tab - Languages button), for Firefox (Tools - Options - Content - Languages area - Choose button)
    2. Added portlet to the page which is using the public connection set to Bulgarian language.
    3. After publishing the portlet, the data appears in Bulgarian.
Tested with both Discoverer Worksheet and Discoverer List of Worksheets portlets and it WORKS for the both.
The inconvenience is that if you are working with multiple languages you have to be careful which language is set in the browser when you publish a portlet and you have to switch between the different languages. There is no possibility to change the language after the portlet is published - it will open always in the initial language.
I thing that such an important limitation should be included in the Discoverer official documentation.

  • Refreshing Discoverer Portlets

Using 9iAS R2, we have set up discoverer portlets on our intranet and have serveral scheduled worksheets which display within portlets.
On one report I have scheduled it to run once an hour and I have also set the Discoverer worksheet porlet to refresh on an hourly basis - which it seems to do.
However, the data is not updating at all. It is only when we actually open the worksheet using Discoverer Plus and save that data in the Portlet refreshes.
When users click on the 'view worksheet' link and open Discoverer Viewer the correct data appears
Perhaps I have missed something . . is there another way to ensure that the data shown in the portlets is refreshed?

I believe that the refresh is set as a DBMS_JOB in the database, however, I have no clue where this is set, obviously somewhere in the product and/or identity metadata database depending on your configuration. Something that might be an easier solution is use something like HTTPClient from the Apache Foundation (http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/httpclient/) and write a small app that logs into portal as an administrator and then calls each portlet's refresh URL in order. It know its a workaround, however, it should work, that being said I've never tried it. I don't know if I'll get time to write it, but if someone gets a chance to write it before I do please shoot me the code :P

  • Error editing Discoverer Portlet 'Edit Defaults'

    Hello,
I am trying to edit my discoverer portlet to change the refresh options. However, whenever I click the edit default link, the following error message shows up on the page:
The current user does not own this instance. Only the owner can Edit Defaults for this portlet. Please contact the portlet owner
This happens even though I log in as the portal admin user.
    Any ideas?

Did you find a solution to the problem? I am encountering the same problem. If the discoverer portlet is created by somebody else then I am unable to edit the defaults.

  • Cannot find discoverer portlet in portlet repository (9iAS rel2)

I would like to use discoverer portlet in my portal page. I have already install 9iAS 9.0.2.0.1 + 9iAS discoverer patch (9.0.2.5.3) and also patch 9iDS Discoverer to the same version (all products on Windows 2000). Then register the discoverer provider, it was successfully. But when I tried to add discoverer portlet from my portal page, I cannot find discoverer portlet provider in the repository. This happen without any errors. Any suggestion ?

Try to refresh your Discoverer Portlet Provider. It should do the trick.

    Hi.
I have noticed in 9.0.4 that I cannot really make modifications to the Discoverer Portlets...even if it seems to accept the changes. I usually create a new portlet, then delete the old one.
