Discovering bluetooth devices

My Iphone 5 is not discovering any bluetooth devices.

I am having this issue too - the bluetooth in my mazda 3 and it won't even "discover" my old iphone 4S. All items are set to discoverable. But they can't even pick up my 5S. Frustrated as I am not tech savvy enough to know what to do next.

My iPhone 4S bluetooth is not discovering bluetooth devices, specifically my new Platronics Voyager Pro HD headset which worked just fine with the iPhone 4 even after the recent software upgrade.  I noticed that others are having bluetooth discovery issues as well.  Will Apple be addressing this problem with a software fix or is this a hardware problem?

Nevermind!  It always helps to re-read the Platronics - how to pair your device instructions.  DUH!!!!

  • Iphone4 is not discovering bluetooth devices

My Iphone4 will not discover any bluetooth devices. It used to connect to my car other iphones but now it wont. Ive updated to IOS5.1, I've reset, restored, tried various things recommended by O2 and Apple support and finally the Apple store replaced my phone but I still cannot connecting to any bluetooth devices. My husband who has exactly the same Iphone can connect to all our bluetooth devices and I suspect its some setting that I need to change.
    Please help!

You probably need to delete the pairings and re-pair the devices. The device you want to pair with must be in discoverable mode. Consult the manual for the device to find out how to do this.

  • TS3581 Iphone 4 wont discover bluetooth devices ie. my car

Out of the blue my iphone 4 has stopped connecting with bluetooth devices.  I removed my car builtin bluetooth out of my phone and took my phone out of the car's system.  It was synced to the car's system but just stopped working.  Car is brand new 2013 Ford Explorer & I'm sure it's not the car.  I've tried to add the phone but it just spins and says discoverable but does nothing.  This is why I'm sure it's the phone!  It won't discover any bluetooth device. I have shut off my phone, reset my phone, made sure my phone was charged, deleted things that could be taking up to much memory etc.  My phone software is current @ iOS 6.1.3
    Please help!!!!

How do i add a bluetooth device to my mac?  There is no " +" button in my bluetooth preferences and turning the devices to discover mode doesn't work

The Bluetooth setup assistant should "find" a device in range when that device is turned on. What are you trying to add?

  • Discover Bluetooth LE Device and its custom service with uuid and its characteristics

    Hello Team,
I have a requirement for developing a library in C# which can be used in any windows app (Metro or Non Metro) apps to discover Bluetooth LE devices which are advertising a custom service with uuid and pair and find all the characteristics of the service
and send parameters and receive response.
I have tried 32feet.NET library which everyone talks about but realized it doesn't support Bluetooth LE devices. Is there any way I can do that? Or do I have write C# wrapper to use winsock2.2 library to call native code to access Bluetooth stack?
Please suggest. We have been able to achieve this requirement in Mac OSX by using their core Bluetooth framework.

    Hello Priyanku,
    >>Is there any way I can do that?
As far as I know, there is not such API that you can use to enumerate all services belonging to a Bluetooth LE device, nor all characteristics belonging to a service.
    >>Or do I have write C# wrapper to use winsock2.2 library to call native code to access Bluetooth stack?
I suggest that you could try it.

  • IPhone 4S Bluetooth not discovering any devices

Hi, my iPhone 4S won't discover any Bluetooth devices at all.
I've tried resetting network settings, hard resetting the phone and neither of these work.
I have another iPhone 4S for work that will find the devices (I tried it as a test) but I need my personal phone to connect as the devices personal devices are a headset (which my phone did previously connect to) and a Nike Fuelband.
Any ideas what's wrong with the Bluetooth or how to fix it?
    Thanks

    Hey Ellen12345,
Thanks for the question, and great troubleshooting so far. You've almost completed every step, as the following article outlines:
iOS: How to troubleshoot Bluetooth connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4562
    Additional Information
    - If the steps above have not resolved the Bluetooth behavior you are experiencing, perform a software restore in iTunes.
    - If the issue persists after restoring your iOS device in iTunes, contact Apple for support and service options.
Tip: You may want to go back and run through every step one more time before restoring, just to make sure we didn't miss anything.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • HT204387 Why My iphone 4 wont discover any other bluetooth device, including my ipad

Why my iPhone 4 wont discover any other bluetooth device, including my ipad?

It will not connect to your ipad.  This has never been a feature of ipad/iphone/ipod
It supports stereo headsets/speakers, handsfree telephone devices, some keyboards, some apps from the app store, and internet tethering if provided by the carrier.
Other than these, it will not connect to another phone or computer.

  • IPhone 5 is unable to discover bluetooth enabled devices Mac Book and iPad

My new iPhone 5 is unable to discover bluetooth enabled Macbook and iPad sitiing next to it

That's not a feature of the iPhone. The only thing you can use bluetooth for with a computer is tethering.

  • Have to "Set up Bluetooth Device" for wireless trackpad and keyboard almost every day

Almost every day when I turn on my MacBook Air in my home office, my Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad do not automatically reconnect. They used to connect just fine when I was in the viscinity, but now (for the past 6 months or so) I almost always have to:
Bluetooth > Set up Bluetooth Device
Turn off the keyboard (hold down the power button for several seconds)
Turn the keyboard back on (hold down power button for several seconds)
    Go through the setup wizard
    Repeat for the trackpad
    Things that don't work:
Pressing the button on each Bluetooth device
    Restarting each Bluetooth device
    Turning Bluetooth on and off
Setting the Bluetooth devices as "Favorites"
Selecting the device from the Bluetooth menu item and clicking "Connect"
    Rebooting my MacBook Air
    Resetting  the NVRAM / PRAM
Once the device is connected for the day, I do appear to be able to "Disconnect" and then "Connect" again from the Bluetooth menu item. The devices will also automatically reconnect by pressing a button on them. It just appears to lose the "lease" on them or whatever after a little less than a day.
I'm trying to think of other troubleshooting steps I could take and it just occurred to me that I could try swapping them with the peripherals I use at work (which are possibly newer models, but otherwise identical). Any other suggestions?

Huzzah! Less than 1 week after finally getting fed up and posting this question, I have discovered the root cause - my wife had been inadvertently stealing my keyboard and mouse connection whenever she turned on her laptop! She's using my hand-me-down MacBook Pro which I thought I had reset, but apparently it remembered its Bluetooth connections.
I had suspected something similar since I occasionally used the wireless keyboard with my iPad, but had already ruled that out.
I can't believe I figured this out after 6 months of mild frustration, but just days after posting this question
