Discrete scheduling help 11i
Looking for some creative use of standard functionality. Discrete manufacturer in what is a make to order and fabricate/purchase components to stock environment. Somewhat of a vertically integrated structure. We are in the process of implementing the 11i discrete manufacturing suite. Have four assembly divisions that sometimes feed one another to ship end product as well as sometimes ship end product out on their own under one roof. These assembly operations are being served by one central fabrication division also under same roof. In our current legacy system assembly has a way of assisting fabrication with priorities. If fabrication ran strictly by due date the assembly operations furthest past due would consume the majority of the resources. An example would be if Division A is 3 weeks behind and Division B is current Division A would get 3 weeks of parts even though they wouldn't have the capacity to assemble all the additional inventory. Division B would sit waiting for parts. Hopefully I am making sense to you so far. Is there any thoughts short of building a custom form and use of dff's to continue along these lines?

1) Job is issued for 100 and at first operation
(shear) you realize that you can only make 85. There
are 3 more subsequent operations. You could reduce the job qty to 85 if for instance you decide to only make 85 because you only have components enough for 85.
2) Job is issued for 100 and after last operation
(plating) you have only 95 pieces coming out of
kettle. You should be issuing 5 pieces to scrap. This will account for all pieces and the job will close on it's own.
3) Job is for 100 and after kitting all components
you assemble only 85 pieces and deem job finished due
to other priorities. You could leave 15 in the kitting queue and change the status of the job to complete but of course you'll get a variance.

Schedule Help Desk E-Mails?
Hello All,
Anyone know if its possible to schedule Help Desk emails go to certain email address's based on Time of Day / Date?
This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks CommunityHi again:
IMAP protocol stores messages on the ISP server until deleted (or hitting a limit they impose). However, if what happened removed them from the server, they are bye bye.
In any event, to try to get them back from a Time Machine backup do this:
Open Mail. Then highlight a mailbox (for example, inbox). Open Time Machine. Select a backup before the problem. Click on restore. Move the messages from the recovered box (a new one) to where you want them. You would repeat this for all mailboxes you wish to recover.
This information is also available in the Mail help. As an aside, you can also archive a mailbox periodically (from Mail>mailbox) I do not use this as the Time Machine backups give me more options and flexibility.
I have recovered messages that a user (me) deleted in error. It takes some getting used to, but it works fine.

Help - 11i HR Address form not working
Hello
I am using US HR Manager Responsibility. When I try to enter address (Enter and Maintain) I am getting error " FRM-40212 Invalid value for field TOWN_OR_CITY". Client is using only HR. Form Name: PERACADR.Hi Hari
Issue is resolved by using the US HR Manager Responsibility. In so doing the
generic address form, PERWSADR.fmb (no address validation) automatically comes
up. This issue stemmed from the fact that the US HRMS Manager Responsibility
was used and the corresponding taskflow was pointing to the US specific address
form with address validation.
Note: The US HRMS Manager Responsibility is for Oracle Payroll users (Payroll
fully installed). It has additional menus and behind-the-scenes code for
Payroll functionality, such as address validation, taxability rules, fast
formulas for payroll processing, etc. So, a Human Resources (HR) only user
should not use that responsibility.
See Metalink
Hope this helps

Looking for feedback on processes/procedures you may have in place at your sites. How do you handle jobs that you close short? Here are a couple of different scenarios:
1) Job is issued for 100 and at first operation (shear) you realize that you can only make 85. There are 3 more subsequent operations.
2) Job is issued for 100 and after last operation (plating) you have only 95 pieces coming out of kettle.
3) Job is for 100 and after kitting all components you assemble only 85 pieces and deem job finished due to other priorities.
Just wondering if you change the status in the discrete form? How do you get job closed etc.? Going live in less than 3 months and there are still many procedures to reconcile with how we used to do it and how we are going to do it.
Thanks in advance.Michael-

I have an iPhone 4s and it is now deactivated. the phone is asking for my apple account and password. but i have forgotten my password. i tried to reset it on iforgot.apple.com, and when i entered my apple id the next thing that appeared on screen is that i have to chose either email verification or security questions. then i click the security question then it asked about my birthday. there where only asking the month and day. then i entered my birthday which is March 8.
so can somebody help me with this problem?
my apple id account is "[email protected]"
thanks in advance! The email you should NOT have published, is your iCloud, not Apple ID
You Apple ID is a valid email address
This is a user forum, not Apple customer service.
I gather the security question did not work.
If you have an email address, why not use that?
If this fails you have to contact support and schedule help. -

0 B Page-outshi john, hi all,
i was not able to remove all "User Login Items", because they did not show up, wether in the "pref pane / user / login items" nor in the library.
all cleaning did not have any effect.
So i decided to backup my data, formal the HD and install a virgin system. To avoid infecting the new system with any "germs" from the old system, I did not migrate all the old data, but copied manually only my documents, but not system files etc.
Nontheless, my macbook pro is still slow in basic tasks (in particular opening windows and dialogs, typing i search fields of spotlight, mail, browser, etc, othe UI-interaction).
Does anybody have an idea, what is wrong?
After formating and before installing the new OS10.9 i run ckecks with:
- disk utility
- dr. web (antivirus)
- virus barrier (antivirus)
- onyx
no fatal errors where found. Everything was cleaned/fixed

Can someone help me with my plug-in problem?
I have Elements 7 and recently added a slew of photo filter plug-ins that I had an another computer. When I added these filters, the drop down box that displays the filters from the top menu options, now only displays the filters alphabetically from A - D, which totally fills the drop down box. Nothing I have attempted will allow me to access my filters that start with the letters D-Z, and my favorite and most used being Topaz Adjust.
Put another way, I have way more photo filters that Elemets can/or will display in the drop down box. Is there anything I can do? Thanks kindly in advance! The email you should NOT have published, is your iCloud, not Apple ID

Dec 15, 2014, 12:50:11 AM com.apple.WebKit.WebContent_2014-12-15-005011_Tom-Mozers-iMac.cpu_[redacted].di ag [Details]1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

Scheduling jobs after upgrade to R12.1.3
Hi,
as per the upgrade guide we need to cancel all the pending jobs, stop managers before we start the upgrade.
My question is, is there any easy way to re-scedule all the jobs which were scheduled in 11i instance?
There is always an option of scheduling these jobs manually, but it could be very time consuming, specially if there are lots of jobs.
Any input/ideas is much appreciated.
Thanks,
AZHere is another approach you may want to try ..
Change the status of those request to "On Hold" then change it back once all the requests from the upgrade are completed.
How To Prevent Concurrent Requests Executing on New Cloned Environment [ID 396799.1]-- b) Set Pending jobs to 'On Hold' section
Concurrent Processing - What are the Meaning of the Codes in the STATUS_CODE and PHASE_CODE Columns of FND_CONCURRENT_REQUESTS Table? [ID 152209.1]

How to maintain schedule invoice print date
Hi everyone,
Could anybody please guide me how can we maintain schedule invoice print date in table te417.
Or, please guide how this field gets maintained?
Thanks and Regards
Edited by: MP Vashishth on Aug 12, 2009 11:36 AMhi,
scheduled print invoice date is maintained in 'portion' which is part of the scheduling setup.
scheduling helps in generate dates for meter reading, billing, and budget billing plans etc.
in portion we give some date in the following fields.
end of billing period--Date by which the portion must be billed .
allocation date of billing--used to allocate billing statistically.
scheduled billing date-Date on which the billing of contracts belonging to a portion is to be started
scheduled print invoicing date--date on which printout should be generated.
all these date are important as they help to generate schedule records for billing and invoicing.
the end of billing date should be after scheduled billing date i.e this should be last date
order of dates scheduled billing date 21042008
scheduled print date 25042008
end of billing date 30042008
table te417 stores the schedule records which are created for the portion one has made.

Exiting a scheduled policy run
Here is my scenario:
1) Poll the status of a service (could be processing or error or completed) continuously until it is in error or completed status
2) Auto-stop execution of the scheduled policy once the status gets updated to error or completed
Policy execution scheduler helps to schedule the execution of the policy. How can we exit the scheduled runs of the policy once the service status changes to either error or completed?Hi,
That is not possible in any version.
A solution could be by using a global variable, KPS / Database value, read/write a value from file on disk to control if a policy should be executed or not.. But I think I would look at a complete other solution scripting something outside of the Gateway to achieve this.
Cheers,

Trackpad and trackpad button often unresponsive in Mavericks
This is an offshoot of discussion about a mouse right click not always working since upgrading to Mavericks.
I said using the trackpad and trackpad button on my MBP often doesn't effect the computer; I have to repeat those actions multiple times before anything happens.
Drew Reece offered some suggestions for my issues:
First, I came to Mavericks from Snow Leopard because I'd tried Lion and Mt. Lion but found my old laptop (early 2008 MBP v4.1) ran way, too slow.
Before going whole hog on Mavericks I read a lot, then installed it on an external drive (spinning, connected with FW800) and played with it for a few days. I used Migration Assistant to make the move, which segregated software that was not compatible. Mavericks was slow for a few days, but did gradually speed up. However, that was when I first ran into the issue with the trackpad and button not registering with the computer's display. I also ran into the problems with Mail not liking my 3 Gmail accounts but actually solved that using by booting in safe mode, thanks to another poster here. Not sure why - I attributed it to Spotlight indexing the drive - everything about the computer was very slow and extremely funky while in safe mode; no way I would want to judge the OS based on performance during that boot. It was awful.
I did update a lot of applications to Mavericks-ready versions while I was using 10.9 on that external drive.
When I felt comfortable, I wiped my NBP hard drive and did a clean install of Mavericks, followed by repeating the same software updates. Then used Super Duper to just bring over User folders from that external drive. Because SD restores the Spotlight state there was no "break-in" period so Mavericks ran reasonably fast right away. I wasn't ready for iCloud deleting my Address Book data but, fortunately, I replaced everything from the external drive's Users/me/Library/Application Support/Address Book folder.
So, per Drew's suggestion, I ran EtreCheck:

I don't see anything that mentions software - good or bad. And I don't see anything else that indicates a problem but maybe I just don't know how to read this report?
Sorry about the length of this but I wanted to addres all Drew's suggestions. And I'm still seeing those intermittent trackpad/button issues.
- thanksI'll try to break down each of these sections & point out any bad signs below.
Hopefully the color helps…

Red items are loaded at the system level
Blue items are loaded at the user level
The other stuff gets loaded into apps like Safari - they are internet plugins.
Cleanup:
All the usual caveats apply, backup before you modify the system, delete the items (or move them to another disk or folder if you are worried about deleting the wrong thing) but ensure the originals are gone or updated.
Use the Finders "Go menu > Go to Folder…" to open the hidden ~/Library (your users library).
Reboot for the system changes to take effect.
How to find updates:
The critical launchd jobs & kernel extensions use reverse domain notation e.g.
at.obdev.littlesnitchd.plist means look at http://obdev.at for 'LittleSnitch' updates
You want to try to update or remove all the system level items.
Startup Items: Stored in /Library/StartupItems/
Startup Items have been discontinued by Apple since Mac OS 10.4. They are responsible for making changes at a system level. Remove them all or spend time ensuring ALL related software is up to date. You need a very good reason to have anything installed in here.
Kernel Extensions: Stored in /Library/Extensions/
Kernel Extensions also load third party code, but they insert it into the 'core' of the OS. These can be safe, however you must ensure the related tools or apps are up to date, otherwise the system is basically built upon quicksand. Remove them all & see if the OS works better.
Your LittleSnitch is out of date for example, how about hardware monitor or Rogueamoeba's software?
Launchd jobs: several types
LaunchAgents - Stored in /Library/LaunchAgents
LaunchDaemons - Stored in /Library/LaunchDaemons
User LaunchAgents - Stored in ~/Library/LaunchAgents
These are all background jobs, they are not necessarily bad, but if they are loading old code it could be doing untold damage to the performance & stability of the entire OS. Focus on the System level jobs (the ones inside /Library - the system level) also remove ['failed'] jobs.
EtreCheck gives a status on launchd jobs…
[loaded] - a running job
[not loaded] - jobs that are set not to run, basically harmless, remove them unless you plan to use the associated software (if it is up to date)
[failed] - jobs in a crashed or unknown state, it could be forking processes or using all the system resources, remove these.
User login items:
Applications and helpers that are managed inside 'Systems Preferences > Users and groups > Login Items tab'.
These are loaded at the 'User level', consider removing all of them whilst you troubleshoot. When you decide to re-add them ensure the software is up to date.
3rd Party Preference Panes: & Internet Plug-ins:
/Library/PreferencePanes/ and ~/Library/PreferencePanes/
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ and ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
Once again these items all must be up to date, or remove them from your system. If the prefpanes manage additional software use the uninstaller or see the developers site for uninstall instructions.
Read the list of Internet plug-ins carefully, there are often duplicate Flash player versions that won't help stability, it's just wasted space too.
Don't forget to also update Safari's extensions in it's preferences (if you have any).
Re-run EtreCheck after cleaning up to see if items have returned (some apps will reload the background jobs when re-opened, so either update or remove the software).
Hope that isn't too daunting, the OS should be better if there are less old items running at the system level.
