Hey Batouhan,
Try the workarounds others suggested in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1798338
One was to change the iPhones language to English in Settings> General> International.

  • I have a question about a discrimination as user of iPhone

I am using an app named VoiP where you can sin up at the webpage www.internetcalls.com
I have used this service to make cheap calls from my iPhone since a long time and am quite pleased. However I received a mail with publicity of a new service named VoiPyo and the rates are much cheaper than the app I am using now.
It seems that it is the same company who lauched this new service which you can see on their website www.voipyo.com but it says that users of ios CAN NOT SIGN UP BUT MUST USE THE ANDREOID PHONE FROM  A FRIEND
They use the same app from itunes store; both websites are the control of the same company and I feel very much frustrated that having an iPhone makes me pay more expensive rates. I assume this is not legal or should be looked into by apple.
I tried to contact apple directly but the contact information is so complicated that there is no option to report this.
Can anyone advise me what to do and how to inform apple
    Thank you

Apple will not read nor respond to any posts here. These are user-to-user forums only. And as long as the app isn't deceptive in some way, which it doesn't seem to be that it is since you're not paying for something you can't use, there's almost certainly nothing Apple can or would do about it.
Again, take it up with the developers or find another service.
    Regards.

  • Availability of iPhone in Finland?

I tried to buy an iPhone at my local electronics shop here in Finland friday October 16th. To my amazement they couldn't deliver. I had to put my name on a waiting list. The salesperson told me that I probably will have to wait several months before I get the phone. He said I'll be lucky if I get one before new year. The reason, he said, is that Apple ships about 500 iPhones to Finland each month. This is ridiculous. Apple could outsell Nokia in Nokia's own back yard if they would meet demand.
I realize that Finland is a very small market area (abt 1/3 of Manhattan), but I've understood that Apple has no severe bottlenecks in the production. So why not deliver?
I am a journalist and I need a phone that is compatible with my MacBook. This is the first time during my 20+ years with the Mac that I'm not satisfied.
Can anyoe give a plausible explanation to this discrimination of us Finns?
    iFinn

No, I didn't. The salesperson in the store claimed that Sonera's webstore has even longer waiting lists, because they deliver to their dealers in the first place.
But maybe he just tried to stop med from shopping elswhere. Perhaps I should explore this further…
    thanks

  • Vibration alert causing problems for a deaf iPhone user

    Hello,
I very recently acquired myself an iPhone 3GS, and have been trying to work out how to make it so I can actually tell when I receive an SMS.
I'm severely/profoundly deaf and cannot hear the ringtones that come with the iPhone. I also cannot feel the vibration alert as it is so weak on the phone. I wanted to contact apple to discuss this with them as it really is quite discriminating to disabled users, but of course you can only contact them by phone, which is even worse as I can't hear people on the phone!!!
I'm really quite upset about this as I paid a lot of money for a phone that I love but can't really use due to the lack of vibration. I have constantly missed text messages due to this problem, and so I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me at all?

Thank you very much for that Feedback link, I wrote them a long email explaining how disappointed I am in their lack of accessibility for those with a hearing impairment. I'm hopeful that they'll actually contact me regarding this, as it is a serious matter that they are not providing for those with a serious hearing impairment (particularly regarding contacting them!)
I also looked at the TTY adapter, but that wouldn't help me at all, I don't think. I cannot use a phone to call anyone, I use my phone for text messaging and the web, which is why I chose an iPhone on o2, it fitted my needs perfectly (apparently not for vibration, sadly).
I really appreciate the responses, you've both been very helpful. Just a waiting game to see what happens now really. Thanks again.

  • Why this Discrimination in pricing ?

After Steve Jobs announced the launch of iPhone at the previous new price(b4 3G-S) of $199 being available all over the world, Apple surreptiously contradicted its Chief, by launching iPhone in India at $ 700 , with the phone locked in to the operators and absolutely no benefit to the customer.
    Simple questions ?
    1. Why this contradiction to the stated global pricing strategy ?
    2. Why should the end user in India alone be discriminated by asking them to pay the full price of $ 700 and still not aloowing them the freedom to switch between any operator of their choise ? Is this not unfair trade practice ?

    .Rocky wrote:

There is no contradiction. In the US, ATT heavily subsidizes the cost of the phone and we pay the subsidy back as part of a 2 year contract.
    2. Why should the end user in India alone be discriminated by asking them to pay the full price of $ 700 and still not aloowing them the freedom to switch between any operator of their choise ? Is this not unfair trade practice ?
In India, your cell phone company does not subsidize the cost of the phone.

  • Apple only accept debit or credit card for iphone purchase

Apple Inc. no longer accepts cash for iPhone purchases and now limits sales of the cell phone to two per person in a move to stop people from reselling them.
The new policy started Thursday, said Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris. Before then, there was no cash restriction and the purchase limit was five per person.
How can I buy an iphone i do not have a debit or credit card is that even legal not to accpet cash as i recall you must accept cash for any payments under $ 9,999.99
im wondering is that legal since everybody doesnt have debit or credit cards and that would be discriminating customers

Apple can invoke any policy they want for accepting tender for the purchase of the iPhone or any other product.
It would be interesting if you or I went up to the counter and wanted to buy a Mac and they did accept cash in lieu of a debit or credit card. I believe that would be a "double standard".
Having said that, the real issue I believe and what I read in the information released by Apple in their quarterly report last week is the unlocking of iPhones.
It appears that there has been the development of a "cottage industry" in the business of unlocking the iPhone to the point where the President of Apple (not Steve Jobs) stated that they, Apple, believe that there are at least 250,000 iPhones that have not been activated through AT&T to date, i.e., through September 30, 2007.
How the taking restricting of cash transactions for the iPhone will reduce the unlocking issue is beyond my comprehension. I could buy a number of iPhones two at a time with my debit card and/or my debit card by just showing up at a store a number of times. Just in my area alone, northern Virginia, there are 4 Apple Stores within 1.5 hours of my home.
I have 5 credit cards and 2 debit cards. I could buy 14 iPhones without ever violating the new Apple policy. I guess I could also write a check off of my 3 checking accounts - that would permit me to buy 6 additional iPhones.
Is Apple going to hold credit card or debit receipts to compare how many times an individual purchased an iPhone.
If so, isn't that a potential security problem with regard to having that data around for other than electronic transfer purposes?
There has to be some misunderstanding of the policy if in fact there is such a policy.

My phone faulty, but the retail stores do not solve the problem of iPhone,Because My iPhone buy in Hong Kong.
Why?This is not Apple's behavior,I hope that is not racial discrimination.

  • Discrimination to upgrade promotions

Discrimination is the prejudicial treatment of an individual based on their membership in a certain group or category. It involves the actual behaviors towards groups such as excluding or restricting members of one group from opportunities that are available to another group. The term began to be used as an expression of derogatory racial prejudice in the 1830s from Thomas D. Rice's performances as "Jim Crow".
Has anyone else noticed that Verizon offers promotions to some customers and not others based on their account?  Recently there have been promotions to certain customers to upgrade to a smart phone or iphone rebate that was made availble to customers based on their account.  When contacted by Verizon to see what my reasons were for giving Verizon a 3 of 10 in likely hood of recomending Verizon and my response was because Verizon discriminates among its own customers, the Verizon represntative said Verizon does not discriminate, promotions are offered to certain customers based on their accounts.  Thus to a certain group of people.
The promotion in question is a $100 rebate or credit for purchasing an iphone at the $199 price that was made available to some people before scheduled upgrade.  My account was not in this group, was yours?

Could this be the promo you are referring to ?
    http://www.phonearena.com/news/Verizon-to-offer-a-100-trade-in-for-basic-phone-customers-to-get-a-smartphone_id21197
And as far as it being"discrimination", spottedcatfish is right on (or spot on, I should say) - businesses "discriminate" this way all the time.  Some offers apply to any and all customers, others carry conditions (owners of certain merchandise, purchased within a specific time frame, only good on particular models...etc).  What Verizon is doing is NOT illegal discrimination.

  • Iphone 6+ won't focus

my iPhone 6+ will not focus at a distance, it is on a fixed distance 15cm or so, I contacted Apple, did all the trouble shooting, downloaded latest software, reset the phone and still no fix, I then spent 2 hours on the chat with Apple, because I live in a regional area here are my options which by the way I run a business and my mobile is the only contact, here is the reply: You have an option of regular mail in where you will receive a box from Apple with instructions on how to send the device in. We also have Express Replacement, you will receive a replacement device within 1 - 3 business days. You would then send your device back into Apple. The fee is A$39 and include GST and you would need to place the amount of an iPhone 6 Plus (A$ 1,449) onto a credit card until Apple receives your device back.
How many Billion does Apple make, what crap customer service, they have the faulty equipment but I have to jump through the hoops and pay $39 and charge my credit card!
I have a G4, G5, iMac and Mac Pro so I like my Apple products, but this does it, is just wrong, its discrimination against the poor bugger who live out of town and what happens if they decide the camera isn't under warranty, do they just keep the $1499 I get a new camera and am out of pocket, sounds very dodgy!!!!!!

    Hello, Hstone579.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are having an issue with images out of focus on the camera.  Here is a troubleshooting article that I would recommend going through.

  • ITUNES FREE SOFTWARE UPGRADE 2 WRECKED MY IPHONE

I tried upgrading my iphone to the software 2 free offer on itunes. NOT only did it not work .... itunes erased my iphone's operating system. My iphone is totally useless. I can't use my iphone at all, not even the cellphone. What itunes now tells me is that my simcard is not supported and my iphone cannot be activated? It was already activated ...... screen is blank .... it worked fine before I tried to install this free software.
I have an unlocked iphone, bought several months ago. The model just before the G3 .... however this doesn't give anyone the right to erase my iphone's operating system under the guise of upgrading my iphone's software program.
Does anyone know what itunes/apple did to my iphone to rendered it useless and how I can correct it?

I appreciate the reply ... however, went back to itunes to check for the
'WARNING' THAT if the iphone was UNLOCKED that itunes would erased the
iphones operating system. There was no such warning, at least I didn't
    see it.
I'm sure if it was "visible" people would NOT attempt to use itunes's upgraded software 2.
SO YES, it is apple's/itunes fault for being manipulative and underhanded towards iphone owners that have unlocked iphones. In Europe a lot of
people have unlocked phones .... is apple also playing around with their
operating systems or are they discriminating against Canadians only?
And hey apple ... we also/have used (PLS NOTE COULD BE PAST TENSE) your other products, such as, computers, laptops and software programs (actually just bought 2 more apple computers & the updated software)... we've spent a lot of money on your products over many years ... so you are messing around with loyal clients that have supported and bought your company products for many years.
The price of the Iphone is peanuts compared to what we pay/have paid for apples other products. Just be aware apple .... there's lots of competition out
there for both your computers and iphones???? Thanks a lot.

  • Find my iphone not free for 3gs

So even though i have the same iOS4.2 software and apps as an iphone4, I can not use the free Find my iphone app. withour paying $100? Fail apple service is fail.
    Yes, I have iOS4.2
Yes, I downloaded the app and followed the instructions.
I then got a message that my device is not eligible.

    Christophe Brun wrote:
And do you think this a fair decision from Apple to make such a discrimination between the iPhone 4 and the 3GS owners... while, technically, the 3GS is able to support the feature?
    Any good reason?
Is it fair to withhold a new feature from iphone 4 if it will not work properly with the other iphone models?
Is it fair to buy a device ( tv, dvd player, computer, phone, anything) and expect that it will always have the same features as the newest devices?
Why would you expect any product to always have the same features of all future products. This is absolutely normal for consumer electronics.
What does fair have to do with anything?
If someone told you that life was fair, then they owe you an apology.

  • Iphones for Puerto Rico

can anyone tell me why isn't ATT PR is not selling Iphones in the Island?

Hi, I can't answer that question but so far I have seen that Apple only sells things in the island via re-sellers (Comp USA, Modernica, etc). They don't sell anything and I mean anything directly to us islanders in their web site. Company policy? discrimination? who knows? I have an Iphone and I like many other islanders got a relative to buy the phone in the Continental USA and bring it back. I activated the phone using my 787 number and it is working perfectly. One thing, I was already an ATT client. So my only advice is to get someone that lives in the Continental USA to buy it for you. Wish you luck!

  • IPhone 5S Voice Memos

    Hi everyone,
I have a problem with the voice memos.
I am using an iPhone 5S -> iOS7, back up from iPhone 4S (the voice memos were recorded in iPhone 4S).
Previously, my iPhone 4S had the same problem too.
The voice memos can't be found in the iPhone VoiceMemo app, but it can be seen from iTunes > On this iPhone > Voice Memos playlist.
The memos are greyed out in iTunes, but can be played.
Also, the checkbox in iTunes > Music > Include Voice Memos is unchecked.
Someone please teach me how to remove all the voice memos in my iPhone 5S and also from the iTunes.
    Thanks.

and also why do my voice memos show up in my music - only in itunes not on iphone

  • Is there a way of getting a "schedule view" in iCal on a mac and on iPad in the same way you can get one on iPhone?

IS there a way to get a schedule view of events on a busy day in iCal on the iPad 2 Air and on the Macbook Pro?  I can get this view on an iPhone.

I am paranoid that some untrusted technician is going to make a copy of my music (11,000 tracks) or share some of my personal information (scanned copies of my birth certificate, passport, certificates, photos, etc.) on the web.
If you put your info into the computer and hand it to another, you have to assume they will copy everything.
Why are you putting scanned copies of valuable identity information into a computer than can be hacked, stolen, lost or compromised by a dirty tech?
    Have you lost your mind?
Is there a way of finding out what activity has taken place whilst they've had it in their possession?
No. The tech would just deny it if he did, or tell the truth which the answer would be "NO" in either case.
The employer won't ask that sort of questions without solid proof, less they make a enemy of the employee and/or risk being sued for defamation of character.
It's not like they bother to have a team of people watching over his shoulder that he doesn't stick a USB thumb drive of your data into his pocket to take home.
I am paranoid that some untrusted technician is going to make a copy of my music (11,000 tracks)
If it's iTunes music, it has your personal ID embedded into the song files. Most IT techs know this though.
I appreciate any advice you guys can offer.
Too late now, all you can do is not worry about it.
Take your personal info out of the machine and if you need it, burn cd/dvd copies, a few USB thumb drives, Iron Keys or self encrypting external storage drives with key and/or keypad.
