Discrimination on Upgrade Licence Policy

Hi, i want to know why Adobe use a different policy on upgrading licence.
Follow me:
- i have a licence of Creative Suite 3 Web Standard and i want to upgrade that to Creative Suite 3.3 Web Premium, the price is 1.449 euro.
- if i have a licence of Creative Suite Premium or Standard 1.x, 2.x or Studio MX, MX 2004, 8 and i want to upgrade one of that to Creative Suite 3.3 Web Premium, the price is 958 euro.
Is not logic, the difference between my upgrade is smaller than others ... why i have to pay more???
Thanks.

Yes, i have called Adobe, the italian customer service, but they tell me one incredible answer: "There is no way, this is a cross-grade and you have to pay 1.449 euros. We think is better for you buy a new release because the cross grade is a complex and longer procedure ..."
Wath do you think abotu?

  • SAP DMS Licence Policy

    Hi All
We are using SAP ECC 6.0 at our organization.
Q1. What is the licencing policy for using SAP DMS. Is is based on per user licencen? How much cost is required per user?
q2. Does it come in bundle licence?
    Please answer us.

Please be informed that SAP DMS is shipped with your ECC6.0 package, hence no additional licenses need to be procured. It only needs to be turned on/configured by a DMS Consultant as per your requirements.
For users to use DMS,only appropriate roles/authorizations for transactions(CV0Xn) must be granted.

  • Oracle Licence policy

    Hi,
We have oracle 8i on TRU64 CLUSTER(active/passive) with 4 cpu on each machine.
As its active/passive cluster only one machine will be active at a time.
What should be the oracle licence policy on this kind of environment.
Do we have to pay for licence of both the machine or only one.
    Thanks in advance

Yes, in fact, Oracle trusts the Customer will install and use the software according to the Oracle License Agreement. It is easier for both parties. If ever Oracle finds software misuse on the customer's side, the oracle representative may invite the customer to regularize the software or Oracle can sue the customer and most probably Oracle will win the trial. As you can see, you can download and install whatever you want, Oracle software is in no way protected like other software, but it doesn't mean this software is free and you can only install what you are entitled to, As previously stated this is only for your records.

  • Upgrade licence entitlements in ZCM - Help

We recently upgraded from ZAM 7.5 to ZCM 10, and am struggling with the concept on how upgrade licences are managed in zcm asset management section. I find the asset managemnet documentation and online help documentation lacking. I have 3 base licences (Product A) and upgrade two licences to a higher version (Product B), how can I then create a new licence record for Product B and map that to the catalogue and discovered product - zcm doesn't seem to allow that from what I can determine. There is no full licence purchased for Product B. Help

  • Final Cut Pro Upgrade Licence Issues

    Hi,
I wonder if anyone can advise .
I had an old version of Final Cut Pro and recently bought the upgrade , which I installed successfully.
Then, seeing that I had a whole new box of manuals, in a moment of madness, I threw away the old box . In doing so, I have thrown away my old licence.
So now if I ever need to re-instal Final Cut Pro , or instal it on my laptop (it is only installed on my desktop) , I have no licence key for the original ( which I must instal before the upgrade ) .
Anyone got any ideas how I go about getting a re-issued licence key?
    Thanks in advance .

    Hope this helps.

  • Transferring upgrade: new policy

Last year one of my family members took my upgrade. We have 3 phones on the family plan(2 basic phones, and my smartphone). So then I decide to go into an official Verizon store a year later and use my dads upgrade on his phone(basic phone) to upgrade my smartphone. One of the sales reps there says I can do that but now the changed the policy saying that if I use  my father's upgrade he will now get charged the same as a smart phone. So it will be an extra 10 dollars a month. This doesn't make since. In reality we have 2 basic phones and one smartphone but if I take his upgrade they will charge us as 1 basic and 2 smart phones. It made me mad and I instantly left .Is this the new policy?I'm considering a new carrier.

jvohland, there's no need to go anywhere. We want to continue as your wireless carrier. When upgrading on your father's line, this will extend his contract. However, the monthly access fee will not increase if he continues to have a basic phone activated on his line. We apologize for any confusion this matter may have caused you.
For your convenience, you can order your new device and activate that phone on your mobile number online at My Verizon. http://bit.ly/xB4iTc

  • Discrimination to upgrade promotions

Discrimination is the prejudicial treatment of an individual based on their membership in a certain group or category. It involves the actual behaviors towards groups such as excluding or restricting members of one group from opportunities that are available to another group. The term began to be used as an expression of derogatory racial prejudice in the 1830s from Thomas D. Rice's performances as "Jim Crow".
Has anyone else noticed that Verizon offers promotions to some customers and not others based on their account?  Recently there have been promotions to certain customers to upgrade to a smart phone or iphone rebate that was made availble to customers based on their account.  When contacted by Verizon to see what my reasons were for giving Verizon a 3 of 10 in likely hood of recomending Verizon and my response was because Verizon discriminates among its own customers, the Verizon represntative said Verizon does not discriminate, promotions are offered to certain customers based on their accounts.  Thus to a certain group of people.
The promotion in question is a $100 rebate or credit for purchasing an iphone at the $199 price that was made available to some people before scheduled upgrade.  My account was not in this group, was yours?

Could this be the promo you are referring to ?

And as far as it being"discrimination", spottedcatfish is right on (or spot on, I should say) - businesses "discriminate" this way all the time.  Some offers apply to any and all customers, others carry conditions (owners of certain merchandise, purchased within a specific time frame, only good on particular models...etc).  What Verizon is doing is NOT illegal discrimination.

  • APO PP_DS licencing policy

We are an OEM automotive manufacturing company.
We need PP_DS. Is it possible to licence only PP_DS as we do not need SNP, DP & GATP
    Thanks
    Pramod

    Thanks DB
    Let me clarify my question
We already have ECC5 core modules imlemented & want to implement PP/DS.
We would like tro keep licencing costs low so wanted to know whether it is possible to licence only PP/DS without DP/SNP/GATP.& what is the minimum no. of licences required.
SAP sales reps naturally want to maximise their sales revenue, so only the user community can help.
Please let me know if you have any idea of the approximate licence costs, so that we negotiate the best price for the company
    Thanks again.

  • Upgrade Licence Question

    Hi
I have an old version of Photoshop Elements that was provided with a PC a few years ago. Will I qualify for the upgrade price for Elements 12?
    Thanks
    Peter

it's unlikely a near-future windows os will be incompatible with pse 12.  ms is pretty good about allowing legacy software to install on its os.
and any version of pse qualifies for upgrade pricing, http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements/buying-guide.displayTab3.html
just make sure you have that old verion's serial number saved in more than 1 spot.

  • Upgrade Group Policy Central Store

     Hi everyone,
Currently I have a windows server 2008 R2 domain environment with windows 7 client computers, the policy definitions are stored in the Central Store.
I have a very simple question but I can't find the answer..
I want to test the windows 8.1 group policy definitions but can I just overwrite the current windows 7 definitions with the new windows 8.1 definitions
without destroying the current group policy's ??
    Thnx,
    Pouyan

The Central Store basically lets your GPMC see what settings you can configure. Here is a guide on updating the central store plus links to another ADMX templates you might want to include.

  • What is the difference between Base licence and upgrade licence?

What is the difference between WinSL 8.1 SNGL OLP NL Acdmc Legalization GetGenuine (part No - 4HR-00400)
Base licence and WinPro 8.1 SNGL Upgrd OLP NL Acdmc (Part no. - FQC-08173).
    Are they both necessary??

Let me clear, I have bought WinSL 8.1 SNGL OLP NL Acdmc Legalization GetGenuine (part
No - 4HR-00400). It means my machine has legal OS and I can use it and I dont need to buy WinPro
8.1 SNGL Upgrd OLP NL Acdmc (Part no. - FQC-08173).
    is it?
I believe that is correct. There should be no reason to buy both licenses for one machine. You should verify this with your reseller or MS.

  • Poor upgrade/crossgrade policy.

I saw that Adobe is taking pre-orders for CS3.3.
When CS3 was released there was no package containing both Indesign and Fireworks (other than the Master collection). So I purchased the Web Premium CS3 and then upgraded a stand alone Indesign I had.
I saw the Design Premium CS 3.3 and the fact that it now contains both Indesign and Fireworks so I was considering the cross/upgrade from the Web Premium just to get everything in 1 package. Acrobat 9 may be nice, but it wasn't my primary reason for considering the upgrade to CS3.3.
I was expecting the same $159 upgrade -- after all, I already own all the software I'd be getting (except the Acrobat upgrade). To my shock, Adobe stated they want $599 to crossgrade from the Web Premium to the Design Premium. Now, I'd understand $599 if I didn't own Indesign, but I do.
Adobe really needs to look at a customer history and see that some of us are long time buyers and own many versions. Why isn't there a proper crossgrade path here? And why am I to be finically penalized because Adobe was short-sighted enough to not initially release CS3 with both Indesign and Fireworks, especially since they dropped Imageready.
Now, I'll wait for CS4 and see what Adobe is willing to do then. The sale for CS3.3 has been lost.

    Keith,
Regardless of whether you are buying software or computer hardware, an HDTV, a specific camera model, a specific car model, a quart of milk, a bottle of wine, a restaurant meal, a mutual fund, theatre tickets, a new suit, etc., a savvy shopper will carefully check it out, right down to (as appropriate) how long the product has been on the shelves, plus reviews, appropriateness for them, and quality.
Too many folks will obsess over whether diet Pepsi is better than diet Coke, but will blindly toss hundreds of dollars at software purchases.
That said, yes, customer service should be there for your questions and should be able to articulate issues clearly. Adobe (and a number of other software developers) could do better. But independent research is just as important, just as I wouldn't trust the accuracy of everything the car dealer tells me.

  • HT4007 Is Aperture 3.4.3 available as an upgrade to existing Aperture licence-holders?

I have Aperture 1, and Aperture 2.1.4. Can I upgrade to Aperture 3.4.3 with a discount therefore, or do I have to buy a brand new licence?

Since Aperture is sold from the AppStore, there are no longer Upgrade licences available, sorry. But Aperture from the AppStore is much more moderately priced than the previous retail Aperture versions have been.

Added: If you are going to upgrade from a very early Aperture version, read the "Additional Information: A note on upgrading ..." in this document:
