No sync with audio for input files AVI MPEG4 23.976 fps

Using Avisynth made convert 24.000 fps to 23.976 fps, AVS opened in VirtualDub, and converted to XviD.
Audio was converted from PCM to AC3 via BeLight and was added to AVI.
And later was merged 9 equal 10-minutes parts to obtain total length 1 hour 30 minutes.
So what is the problem?
You even do not downloaded my AVI file, to see what it not any full commercial movie.
Too fast to close topics, it is impolite.

Alex,
I am a bit confused as to your workflow. I just downloaded the Big Buck Bunny, 2D 1080p 60fps Sunflower version to check it out. I don't have your original link so I am not certain exactly what you downloaded.
It came to me as a 692MB Quicktime file. Big sucker. Took over 7 minutes to get it via the HTML link. It is only 9:56 in duration. Is there more to get 1.5 hours?
In any case, the video came as H.264 in a MOV wrapper at 24 frames per second. According to Premiere Pro and according to MediaInfo. It is 24 not 23.98 or 23.976. I get all that, but I don't get why you separated the audio, or why you care about the frame rate.
What is the point behind this exercise? What is wrong with using the video the way it is. It seems to work great in Premiere Pro. Why not just export it to whatever it is that you want to use ot for? At whatever frame rate you want?

    i have an iphone 5 ana i buy it unlocked and when i update the ios to 7.1 the iphone is locked .why?

    Probably because the previous owner had the phone hacked to unlock it, and when you updated it locked back to the original carrier.
    Only the carrier that the phone is locked to is authorized to unlock it.
    If the previous owner had the carrier unlock it, you wouldn't have any issues.

  • With track locking why does it take longer to --

    1.) With track locking, why does it say so much longer to "Save As" and to create bakcup copies of songs?
    2.) If after I lock tracks to improve performance can I unlock them for the purpose of faster "Save As" and copies?

    I found from my experience that if one deletes the freeze files to save space but does not unlock the tracks GB will not search for the files upon opening but rather will recreate the locked tracks after you click "Play".
    I just wanted to clarify that. I didn't want anyone to think GB will open a tune and then begin a search right away. It won't happen until you click play.
    Heres my reasoning for leaving the tracks locked and deleting the freeze tracks and not unlocking them before hand.
    If I leave the tracks locked and then delete the files I don't have to remember later which tracks I wanted locked and which ones I did not want locked. All I need to do is open the file and click play. Its actually more convenient. If you unlock the tracks first then delete the files you have to go back later and relock the ones you wanted. TO me thats a much easier way to remember things.
    I agree with you whole heartily when it comes to "Save As Archive". Its the only way to save.
    "Save" And "Save As" only creates a pointer to your files in and from the "Project Data" file. They do not add AIFF files taken from GB browser to the "Media" folder. Only a recorded instrument (vocal or instrument) or a file dropped into time line are saved in the media folder using "Save" or "Save As". Or in other words anything from "Outside" the GB browser.
    MIDI instruments recorded into GB are not kept in the Media folder after a "Save" or Save As" or unfortunately "Save As Archive".
    "Save as Archive" saves all the files you currently have in the GB timeline (except MIDI data) in the Media Folder. A nice, safe, sure way to know all your intended files will be there when you open your tune or burn it to a disc and return it in the future. This is why I always use it. It does of course make you .band file much larger.
    Recently I have tested the .band files for operator usefulness and error to try to alleviate the somewhat unfounded fears placed upon opening the file with the "Show Package Contents" function.
    Sure thing can go wrong if your careless when you open the .band file but its not as is clicking any of the audio file will hurt anything.
    You can play many of these files saved under "Save as Archive" with the finder.
    I have found that if you ACCIDENTLY toss out any AIFF files that were taken from the GB browser and placed into the timeline that this will not hinder your .band file from opening. GB will still open and play your file as it normally would and when you "Save As Archive " again those browser files will be replaced in the media folder. Even if you have looped them, cut them, shortened them.
    If you ACCIDENTLY toss out a file added to the timeline or a recorded instrument or vocal then your in trouble because it is gone but the GB file will still open. GB will tell you it can't find the file and ask if you want to search for it.
    Now if you Toss out your "Project FIle" then your screwed. The .band file will not open and the game is over.
    Why do I even mention all this? Not to annoy anyone or go to battle over the subject but simply to mention that I have tested every scenario and that opening the .band file and clicking around will not harm a thing. Clicking around will not harm anything or damage your file. Just leave the "Project Data" file alone.

  • Discussion: AtomicBuffer - lock-free and thread-safe

    Hi,
    Since I'm always interested in discussions, I posted the following code for a lock-free, thread-safe buffer implementation.
    In this case the buffer stores (Message,Throwable, Level) triplets but that's not the point here.
    The interesting parts are addEntry() and getNextSlot(). It's actually the first time, that I tried to make use of the atomic package in a real application.
    I'm looking forward to any kind of valuable comment, may it be criticism or praise :)
    Cheers, Daniel

    Hi,
    OK, so we were talking about different specifications.
    If you are sure about that before the time you mentioned only writes, and after that time only read(s) will take place, it's an absolutely good situation.
    Sorry, I was very wrong, you're right - some (or most) implementations use hardware CAS. Hey that's a nice feature, isn't it?
    I can see that you are using the loop to determine, whether another thread has accessed the counter (or something similar). I think this technique is great,
    however, you might end up with a thread waiting for a single buffer space, while the others proceed (although this is not likely).
    Anyway, I don't really know why would I want to use a code this complicated.
    What about these lines:
    public void addEntry(Object pMessage, Throwable pThrowable, Level pLevel) {
    int lSlot = mNextSlot.incrementAndGet();
    //So this has incremented the value (now remember to instantiate with -1) atomically, fast, with no locking and no loops
    //Here I don't really worry about the real value of this int, as I only want to know if my entry fits to the buffer
    if (lSlot < mSize) {
    mMessageBuffer[lSlot] = pMessage;
    mLevels[lSlot] = pLevel;
    mThrowableBuffer[lSlot] = pThrowable;
    public int getDiscardedMessages(){
    return mNextSlot.get()-mSize; //but here I can reuse the information (i.e. the difference), which you would have discarded
    }To use this code for general purposes, one could modify it like this:
    <code>...
    //in the constructor:
    fillableSize = pSize;
    mSize = pSize + OVERFLOW; //where OVERFLOW is a number that satisfies the conditions in a given environment
    </code>...
    public boolean isFull(){
    return mNextSlot.get() > fillableSize;
    //I am sure that there is a thread periodically checking / storing the log itself, of which core should be something like this:
    if (currentAtomicBuffer.isFull()){ //or a given time period is exceeded
    AtomicBuffer newAtomicBuffer = new AtomicBuffer(BUFFER_SIZE);
    logThisToDatabase(lastAtomicBuffer); // log the previous one - there should not be any writer threads
    lastAtomicBuffer = currentAtomicBuffer; // this is the preivous one - note that there might be some threads writing to it, but this does not mean any problem
    currentAtomicBuffer = newAtomicBuffer; // from now on, work to the new buffer
    //for monitoring purposes, you still can use getDiscardedMessages: this will inform you if OVERFLOW is set right. Anyway, it should always return 0.However, one might want to catch the interruptedException (thrown in the thread that empties the buffer) and handle it with a last logThisToDatabase call on lastAtomicBuffer and currentAtomicBuffer as well.
    Kind Regards,

    I was just looking at a post i did a couple of days ago and noticed it was locked ( Harley Brown, "I have found a solution to 1 (of the many) battery problems!", 07:25am Oct 7, 2005 CDT)
    why is it locked?

    Probably because you were giving advice about the battery that conflicts with what is in Apple's own support pages. There is usually a link at the bottom of a locked post that gives a specific reason for the closure, but the link in your message seems to be broken, so this is just speculation.

  • Discussion thread removed, Why?

    Hi
    Yesterday I created a discussion thread, regarding the new advertising standards authority legislation, to which a number of people did present there opinions and thoughts.
    Today all traces of this thread have been removed, it does not appear in any history or my list of discussions created, this points to the thread having been removed. I am therefore left wondering why?
    The tread was not meant to offend, (and did not do so as far as I can ascertain) but generate thoughts and opinions on such legislation, more legislations are to come and simply ignoring them is I think not a valid argument, but definitely something worthy of at least a discussion on the forum, as they will in some way affect almost everyone. If anyone, (possibly a moderator) can please explain why this discussion was removed I would be grateful.
    Paula Z

    Hi
    First, thank you David for clearing this up for me, as I can now post a reply to a few of the points that where raised in the original thread for those interested.
    After some research/questions into what the legislation means for those of us involved in designing/developing web sites, I have received the following information -
    It is not the intention of the ASA, (Advertising Standards Authority) to interfere with legitimate web sites offering legitimate services or products, but to stop those sites advertising services or products that are not regarded as 'genuinely deliverable', (e.g. SEO sites claiming that you will be on the first page of Google, or that having a web site will increase your sales) pirated items, (software, video, etc) or counterfeit goods, (offering products that are not genuine or as advertised).
    Stop the abuse of email marketing campaigns that the targeted person has not signed up to, or has no way of stopping. (similar to that of mail-shots or telephone cold-calling).
    Ensure that all concerned with any form of advertising or offer of services on the internet, act in a considerate and responsible manner to all users of the internet.
    Now to the other points, and these are the result of the 'lack of action' within the web design/development community as a whole to implement changes themselves, notification of possible legislation was indicated by the European community commission 4years ago regarding this, (note: I remember this notification, and I did write about it in a reply to a thread 2 years ago) -
    What constitutes a professional web designer/developer - No official training or qualifications are to be required, nor are any to be expected. But it is to be expected that anyone offering these services should at least have a good understanding and be able to implement to a satisfactory standard, the lessons of the 'Web Standards Curriculum' as appropriate to the services offered. This are now offered, (free of charge) by both Opera at - http://www.opera.com/company/education/curriculum/, and Firefox at - http://www.drumbeat.org/p2pu-webcraft. An Open university course in modern web design/development that includes html5/css3, PHP/MySQL is also now available, a degree in 'media studies' alone is NOT regarded as a qualification or experience in web design/development.
    Professional bodies - Membership to any professional organization is not seen as a qualification, though it is hoped that the community will adopt and enforce via 'peer pressure/user groups' or similar, a professional 'Code of Practice' that can be seen as a standard to which the community as a whole will aspire to uphold.
    Other government departments are also to receive powers to protect the consumer over the coming years. One such is the OFT, (office of fair trading, which does now have the powers required) which is to ensure that action is taken to uphold current legislation regarding the availability of services as defined in the disability's discrimination act and other legislation, they have the powers to remove a web site completely, and enforce a court order that stops the site owner(s) trading under another name, (action will also be taken against anyone who knowingly assisted such infringements of the law).
    O/K, that's the main points I think, any questions, and please Osgood_ no abusive language as I can already hear it from here .

  • When my phone is locked, why can I still use Siri to call and text?

    So basically yesterday I was playing around on the lock screen with Siri.. And I noticed i can still call, text and search the Internet from the lock screen.  Is this supposed to be possible? or a bug Apple have missed in the current version IOS?  I only ask because surely if I lose my phone, any random member of the public could potentially use my phone to dial any number they wish.. even call abroad and run a phenomonly high phone bill very quickly.
    Not having a moan just suprised it's possible to do this.. What's the point of a security lock code / fingerprint scanner if anyone can pick up my phone and use it?
    Thanks in advance.

    So, when you're using Siri, how are you activating it?  By pressing the Home Button?
    Do you have Touch ID enabled?
    Are you using a finger on the Home Button that is enrolled in the Touch ID?

  • OCFS2 and file locking (why not?)

    Hi,
    I have three machine connected to a SAN Storage. I'm trying to build a Mailcluster with them, storing the mailboxes on the shared storage and using DNS round robin to connect to the mailservers.
    For the shared storage I setup OCFS2 (1.2.6) with Debian Etch Kernel 2.6.22.6. The installation process was very easy and the storage is running, all machines can read and write the shared storage.
    BUT: File locking doesn't seem to work. I've read that OCFS2 is posix file locking compatible and that it uses a DLM (which is running on my machines). But I've tested flock and fcntl with a small C programm. When I'm starting this both machines get the lock on the same file. I think this will lead to data inconsistency, won't it?
    OCFS2 is a "real" filesystem, isn't it? Can I use it for my scenario? Did I miss something?
    Thanks!

    Worth reading the oss mails to find the answer - see for example

    Apple has an agreement with the licensed carriers that sell the iPhone here in Canada to only allow it to run on either Rogers, Fido, Telus, Bell or Virgin Mobile in Canada and not to be unlocked for use with a different international carrier. This ensures adequate stock for Canadian consumers who reside in Canada. The unlocked iPhone sold online Apple.ca has to be purchased with a Canadian credit card and shipped to a Canadian billing address which also helps to avoid international visitors from using the iPhone overseas. Also when Apple inserts the MicroSIM for either Rogers, Fido, Telus, Bell or Virgin Mobile it locks it to that specific carrier for use on their network. Prior to this security licensed dealers (stores) across Canada were lucky to get 10 iPhone 4 once a month for customers.
    Where did you get this info!? Certainly goes against what is stated here:
    http://store.apple.com/ca/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone?cid=WWW-NACA-IPH ONE-NAV#faqs
    Clearly states that can be used with international microSIM card purchased outside the country.

  • No search window in apple discussions anymore? Why?

    For some reason there is no search window in apple discussions anymore. No matter which browser I open the only search window is up to the right of the "support" on the menu bar. I can no longer search apple discussions. Has something changed here?

    If you do a search on these forums, you will find many threads that confirm that Apple has temporarily disabled the search function and they will try to put it back soon.
    Trying to make a little joke there.

  • Lock does not stay locked in Network...why?

    Hello. I noticed something about the lock in one of my System Preferences that has me a bit bothered, given I bought my Apple because of its promised security features. I should say I am totally new to the Apple world.
    Whenever I restart the computer, or log out and then log back in, and I go immediately to System Preferences>Network, the lock is unlocked, regardless of the fact that I locked it previously. I thought the lock could only be unlocked if I specifically went to the lock and tried to unlock it (and after I put in the prompted password). How can I make this lock stay locked? I am using dial-up if that makes some sort of difference (no choice other than spending a fortune on a dish).
    Any help appreciated.
