Discussion pages not loading

I have seen the posts regarding the outages of this forum, and wanted to add my 2 cents. I've been able to get in, then when I try to reply to a post, Safari's "wait" icon spins and spins, then it fails with a message like "network connection lost." (Of course, now that I'm posting this, I can't get it to re-occur.)
I'm sure this isn't on my end, since I'm able to surf anywhere else at the time I'm having problems here. Sometimes my post is accepted, even though I never get confirmation, other times it is just dropped.
I'm just hoping that what is happening is that the server is overloaded due to a bunch of new Mac users!

Hi KonKrypton!
No it's not your computer or connection.
Since last Friday, many members have been experiencing difficulties accessing Discussions.
Another related Topic HERE.
As far as I know, there hasn't been an official announcement, of what caused the problem, but as of some time yesterday, things seem to have mostly returned to normal.
For how long, one never knows!

  • Pages not loading completely

I am seeing intermittent issues with web pages not loading completely, or taking a long time to load. Some times embedded images will not load. The page will often load, but the page loading icon in chrome will carry on spinning.
This is happening periodically and at various times of the day, but has been going on for a couple of weeks. The rest of the time, my broadband speeds are fine and very snappy, as normal.
I've restarted my router (homehub 3) several times.
This doesn't seem to be a general speed problem.
Using speedtest.net, i can see that my download speed is pretty consistent at just under 20mbps.
Using pingtest.net i see no packet loss, with good ping times.
Using the BT speedtest tool, my line speed to the house is around 23mbps, and my download speed is again around 20mbps.
This is effecting all devices attached to the router, both wired and wifi... both windows PC/laptops and ipad/iphone devices.
I am not sure where to look next, and am kind of dreading a conversation with BT helpdesk.
    Any ideas?

Thanks... That's a long thread, and I am not going to pretend to understand all of it.
It seems to be similar issue, but I am seeing this any webiste, including this one, not just on a handful of specific sites.
If I understand the thread above correctly, that issue is with BT, and was apparantly fixed, although the most recent post suggests it has not been. And that if this is the same problem, I can't do anything to fix this myself, other than raise this BT?
Having played around a little more, I think I can see that this problem becomes more accute when i am jumping rapidly from one webpage to another in quick succession, until i get to the point where pages are just not loading anymore.

  • Web Pages not loading on Mobile Devices

Browsing web pages not working on mobile devices
I have bt inifinity 2, from my laptop and mac (with same wifi connection) webpages load no problem, from my android tablet and iphone (with same wifi connection) web pages not loading. On these devices I can load youtube videos, and apps have connections/load data, it seems to be limited just to browsing webpages.
I have tried changing ssid for the 2 channels, I have tried disabling wifi on the router, and using apple time capsule as the router, everything seems to result in the same problem, you cannot browse web pages on mobile devices.
previously i had adsl from bt and didnt have these issues.

You can include alternative content for people who do not
    have the Flash
player. Essentially, you write the site twice--once in HTML
    and once in
Flash/Flex. This is one reason why people will often advise
    you not to put
mission-critical functionality into anything that requires
    the Flash player,
unless you're 100% certain that all of the users who need to
    see your
    content will have it.

    thanks for the help
mac book pro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

mcialdella, Welcome to the discussion area!
Anytime that you have "special software" required to use an Internet connection you won't be able to use most (if not all) routers or base stations. These devices have no capability to run that software.
That is a pretty unique situation and won't plague you in most places (except maybe in Brazil).

  • Page not loading - Events, To-do list, Notes

    Hi,
I am having this error of not loading events, to-do list or notes pages. It gives me following message.
"Sorry, we're having some problems bringing you this page. It's our fault not yours, so please try again later."
I saw similar posts regarding this on this discussions forums. Some suggested solutions were to change browser agent and clear browswer cache.
I already tried signin into Ovi using different browsers (FF, IE, Opera and Chrome) on different computers. I still get the same error message.
Also, when I try to sync Notes to my Nokia N82, Phones gives me an error message "System Error". Device firmware is V 30.0.019.
Anybody else get this error? Any solutions?
Your help will be really appreciated since I have important information on my notes.
    Thank you.

Did the problem appear just now or have you had it since beginning?
Are you using any specific language or charactersin your devices or are they all in english?
For me the cache clear has always helped but as you mentioned, you have already tried that. so it sounds like there is something wrong with your account? Did you try to contact Nokia?

  • Internet  pages not loading correctly with Explorer for Macintosh 5.1

I received the Ibook from my brother-in-law after his death. I've updated it with 512 ram and the newest version of OS X for this Ibook. When I access a web page with explorer for Macintosh 5.1 the page is not loaded correctly. it seems to wraparound , some heading overlap each other. Some pages won't load at all. When there are scroll bars and they are used, all that shows is blank. I'm use to the windows environment and am just preparing this machine for my brother to use to access the internet in his retirement. Am I missing some plug-ins or set-up?

It looks like most people in the OS 9 Forum are recommending the wamcom-131-macos9-20030723.sit download available from this page:
    http://wamcom.org/latest-131/
You have to sort through a lot of builds to find the correct one, but that looks to be it for Mac OS 9.
I'm not sure that any browser version for Mac OS X 10.0.4 will work satisfactorily at this point in time, Jim. They are all likely to be as creaky as Internet Explorer 5.1, I'm afraid.
lvg416, you may want to post about the problem in the Mac OS X v10.3 & earlier > Using Mac OS X Forum:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=745
I did a little poking around in there, but not many people are using Mac OS X 10.0 (and for good reason). Personally, I didn't find Mac OS X usable until Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) came on the scene.

  • Pages not loading - youtube, Yahoo, flikr etc etc

    Hello all
I'm having a bit of an odd problem. Certain pages don't load correctly in Safari or Firefox.
I have tried the advice of http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5736973&#5736973
The page will display as blank with 'completed x of y items'. Eventually the page will load (maybe 5 minutes) but not as designed but in a simple format, no graphics etc.
    Any thoughts?
    Mick

I am by NO means an expert in this, but it sounds to me like you have a slow connection. You don't have any info entered about your OS, or type of computer. Wondering if you're using wireless and maybe are too far from the base station?
This occasionally happens when my internet connection is running slow for whatever reason.
I'm sure others who have more experience will respond. Good luck.

  • Router's Web-based page not loaded correctly.. Need Help!!

I'm using WRT54G v2.2 router and recently i noticed tat i've flashed a wrong firmware which is WRT54GL version, so wat i did was i flash the original v2.2 firmware which i noticed it had not been updated since 2007... after i flashed the router and i log into the 192.168.1.1 webpage.. all the tabs and many options are missing as though the page was not loaded correctly or fully loaded and i cant even get into the management page and so on..

  • Pages not loading correctly anymore

Running firefox 7.01 on win7 64 bit. I just recently got a popup asking me whether I would like to see additional information from when I click on a link (on my nas) or not. I selected no. However, now I do not get any confirmation dialogs anymore and some websites (which use java) seem to have stopped working. I went into settings but could find nothing that would block these particular sites are particular java options.
How can I get this back to where it was before because now I am unable to access some sites that do not load with this setting in place anymore

Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security:
If you are using a single computer: Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2296
If your computer is part of a network: please refer to this page: http://www.opendns.com/start/bestpractices/#yournetwork and follow the advice given.
You could also try these codes as well: 4.2.2.1 & 4.2.2.2
If you use a Router, make sure it has the latest firmware installed.
One reason for a slowness in page loading may be the 'DNS Pre-fetching' feature of Safari 5.x
    This is described here:

  • Pages not loading until refresh

    Hi all,
Recently I have noticed on my Ipad and PC that webpages like google for example do not load, they get stuck until I refresh then it will go through and load the page. Also youtube has problems when I am using the ipad with certain videos just refusing to load. Wat can I do to rectify this problem!
    Thanks
    I am using a Netgear R6300 router

Could be a DNS problem. Try using Google DNS instead - 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

  • Pages not loading completely or at all.

This is a problem I've been having for weeks and weeks. Pages in Safari (or in IE or in Firefox) will not load completely or at all. For example, the apple.com homepage does not load at all and neither does ebay. However, the amazon homepage will load almost completely, but a few of the images don't appear.
    I've tried numerous ideas.
I've run through the power cycle. (Turning my router and cable modem off, and then restarting them.)
    I've run network diagnotics.
    I've reset Safari.
I've typed in IP addresses manually.
    We bought a new router.
It even got down to me having to reinstall the operating system. (The computer is fairly new, so there wasn't any important information on it.)
I tried calling my ISP, but they don't know what's wrong.
Apple won't speak to me because my 90 days is up, and my parents won't pay $160 for the care plan.
I'm becoming desperate at this point. I love my new iMac, but there isn't much I can do without the web.
Oh, I also can't download updates, access the iTunes music store, or anything else that requires internet acces.
We have three windows computers in the house that are all running fine on the WLAN.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Any other ideas?
Hmm, can you try logging into another user account to see if the problem is present there as well? This will confirm where the root issue is - your user area or system wide. It sounds like it wil be system wide but best to double check.
If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> [+] to create a test one (and [-] to remove it if needed).
I've typed in IP addresses manually.
Can you expand on what you mean by that? Are you referring to the DNS addresses or typing the IP address in the browsers address entry box?
