Discussions login doesn't allow user to paste password

Hi all,
is it just me or does the discussions.apple.com not allow you to paste your password when signing in? Seems a bit of a security issue leaving you open to keyloggers....

The Jive software that runs these forums does not allow it.
Most of us just let it autofill.

DRM-61026: Unable to create user session for the following reason: Login failed. Invalid user name or password.

All Im very new to Oracle DRM and Im trying to get the app setup on Windows server running SQL Server 2008. When I try to login to the Web Client I keep getting this error.

This might be due to The 'Oracle Instance' path may not have been set to a path relative to the 'CSS Bridge Host' (i.e. the Foundation Services machine) on the Configuration > Host Machines > CSS > General tab of the DRM Configuration Utility.
if this is the case then
1. Open the DRM Configuration Console.
2. Go to the Configuration > Host Machines > CSS > General tab of the DRM Configuration Utility.
3. Ensure that the path in 'Oracle Instance' has been set relative to the 'CSS Bridge Host' (i.e. the Foundation Services machine defined in 'CSS Bridge Host').
4. If corrections are made to 'Oracle Instance' then restart the DRM services to pick up the change.

Is there a way to allow users to paste in a graph from Excel into a textfield?

I have not seen this capability, wondering if it is possible. Users of my form will need to past in a graph they created in Excel as part of the write-up they will discuss in a textfield. Barring that, is there a way to identify an image object that the user can populate at run time, associating a JPG they select to be embedded into the form as opposed to attached to the form?
This form will have digital signatures so form attachments will not be possible. I can default to a portfolio and have the user drop in the Excel sheet, etc., but it would be nice if they could type up info in to the textfield and drop in an image into the same textfield.

In my experience, the biggest problem is most users are not aware of how to attach files as comments. There's a specific tool for this in the "Comments > Annotations" panel in Acrobat/Reader 10/11 (paperclip icon). Previous versions are different. So it's a good idea to provide instructions. I will usually include a button that when clicked will provide instructions in a popup, tailoring them to the version of Reader/Acrobat being used. This is done with a relatively simple JavaScript.

VL10 batch doesn't allow user role maintenance

A batch job to create deliveries is desired.
A user role was created using VL10CUA (copied from 5001).
Access VL10G to create a variant, but the User Role tab is completely display only.
According to OSS note 310022, step 2 indicates that user role can be maintained for background processing.
Currently using ECC 5.0. Why is the user role tab display only? What changes are necessary to create a variant using the new user role?
I also looked at the screen painter and the fields were "Possible" so that doesn't answer why they are display only when using VL10G.

In VL10CUA, create a new user role from 5001 and click on Chg. Attributes and change F code to 5001.
Then assign the user role in VL10CUV to VL10 Scenario.
This will default the user role in VL10. Save the variant and then run VL10BATCH for the variant.

Anonymous login doesn't show user login channel

Recently i am doing some R&D work on portal server. Whenever the user logs in to portal server, it will bypass the authentication menus and login as anonymous user because i have set in the admin console to disable all the authentication methods except anonymous login. In order for the user to login again using membership login inside the anonymous login, at the advanced option under "Non Interactive Mode", i added "membership" as one of the variable. Now the problem comes when i added in a generic provider into my channel.I can't see the user login channel anymore whenever i log into the anonymous page. I have uncheck "the persistent cookies" at the advanced option in admin console but the problem still persist.Even if i never log in using the login channel at the anonymous user page, it will display "welcome new user" and bypass the page with "login channel". I hope you guys understand my question. :). Anyone out there knows what's going wrong here?

Make sure the iwtLoginProvider is present in the selected channel list for the anonymous user.
Go to the anonymous user profile /Manage_Domain/Role/Users and then anonymous user profile and check to see if you have the iwtLoginProvider added in your list of available and selected channels, if it is not present you have to add it.
Below the available channel list box
type iwtLoginProvider in the Channel Name text box. For the Class Name text box, type: com.iplanet.portalserver.providers.login.LoginProvider
Click the add button
Now move the channel to selected channel list and then click the submit button in the bottom of the page.

Discussions login doesn't stick

When I put my iPad to sleep, with a Discussions window open in Safari, and come back, I always have to log in again. On my computer, I remain logged in as long as the browser is open. Is this some kind of security feature? And is there a way around it?

i doubt it. in fact, i'm experiencing the exact opposite: staying connected to AD on my iPad while Safari on my Macs keeps disconnecting, requiring me to log in several times a day.

Create / Alter user doesn't allow special characters in password

When i try to change the password from say : vos1s05 to : vos1s05! i get the error message (missing or invalid option), i have used several special characters and all give the same error, is there a way to circumvent this, or will this be enabled in a new release ??

A password is classified as an oracle identifier and must conform to the rules for indentifiers. To include special characters you need to enclose it in double quotes e.g. "vos1s05!"

How to allow users to change password

I have enabled users to change their passwords in the Server.app for the Default Site with SSL, and who can access is a group of individuals.
When I load up the Server site, I am presented with

The Directory /Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default/auth/ exists with the corret permissions. This is an empty directoy tho

I cannot get this to work. WIki's are turned on but that doesnt work either.
If I Launch /wiki, I am prompted to login, to with I do, and i just get a blank web page

On the landing page at the bottom it should say "change password".
That brings you to a forbidden page?
On my server I do not have the /auth/ folder in my default site, but my changepassword page does work.
Can you check if going to https://127.0.0.1/changepassword does work? It will give an SSL error.
Then it might be DNS related conflicting with another router/server in your network
Or... charge $ 5 per user to change his or her password personally

Allowing user to set password for form?

I have a performance evaluation form that has been rights-extended so users can save data typed into the form, but the users would like to be able to set their own passwords for security purposes. Is there any way to do this? My last resort I guess will be to just tell them to zip the pdf file into a password protected zip file, but I feel like there must be a way to script something in the doc:ready event??

Hi,
I designed a sample to protect a form with a password.
Therefore I use 2 hidden fields somewhere in the form that store either the password and the state of the form (protected or unprotected).
The I added two script, one in the preSave:event one in the docReady:event.
The preSave script check if the form state is set to unprotected (0), if so it opens a response box to enter a password, that is stored in the hidden password field.
After that the form fields are set to invisible and the form is saved.
When the form is reopend the docReady script check if the form state is set to protected (1).
If so, it asks for the password.
If the password is wrong or empty the form fields stay invisible.
The preSave:event script:

Terminal doesn't allow me to input password

Hi there. Something strange has happened to me using my Macbook Pro. My Hard Drive disappeared from desktop and finder. I found out that somehow it has the "hidden" flag. Once I found this out, I tried to erase it but, when the terminal asks me my password, it doesn't accept any input at all. Any key I press, or any string I try to copy doesn't appear. The only thing I can do is press enter, receiving the "wrong password" warning. I tried to switch keyboard layout but nothing happens.
Any suggestion?

that's normal and is a security feature.
to make your drive visible enter the following terminal command
sudo chflags 0 /volumes/*
The only thing I can do is press enter, receiving the "wrong password" warning. I tried to switch keyboard layout but nothing happens.

How to allow users to launch SMC; login to SMC without root account

I've very familliar with how to create accounts and assign members to groups and assign privliges in Solairs 10 using SMC. I want a user to review the audit logs using the SMC console since the logs are GUI but I don't want the user to use the root account to login to SMC. I know the user can use the su command but I can only login with root after typing su and then launch SMC.
Bottom line what is the best way a user can use the SMC console without having the root password to execute SMC and then login to SMC and view the audit logs?

I found the best solution is to use a Role Based Access Control (RBAC). Using SMC as root go the the Role Icon and setup a Role using the wizzard. Next have the user login to the system, go to the terminal and type:
/usr/sadm/bin/smc &
The individual user will be prompted to login with his specific user name and password and then prompted to use the Role Login Name and Password you provided in the above paragraph.
Now the user can perform SMC functions without the need for root.

Facebook login does not add user and password to the account

PROBLEM
Facebook login button does not create user and password for login.
We wish we could ONLY use facebook login button to allow users the account creation on our campus.
So we disabled the user creation webform.
And only out facebook login buttons that students can only login to our campus using their fb account in the hope that they dont share it (hopefuly)
AND
This is a problem BECAUSE if I publish events and capture leads ALL those users have problems creating their user account latter.
CASE IS
1.- A person comes to my website and leaves a comment. This creates a register with their email and name.
2.- Days later this same user comes back and clicks a facebook user login/ account creatio.
2.1 The page now shows that user name as it comes from Facebook. BUT NO USER AND PASSWORD information added to that person's register in the CRM.
So
If some one leaves a comment, register to our mailing list FIRST
and SECOND tries to create his account afterward. IT DOESNT WORK
Any ideas?

TMG 2010 publishing Exchange 2010 OWA cannot change password if user must change password at first logon is set

I have an odd issue whereby if I set "user must change password" on an AD account, the end user cannot logon, they're simply taken back to the OWA login page as if their password is incorrect.
My setup is as follows:
outer TMG -- uses a listener for email.contoso.com and is configured for no authentication.This uses a publishing rule to publish the inner TMG server. This server is not a domain member.
inner TMG - uses a listener for email.contoso.com and is configured for NLTM\kerberos negotiation with forms authentication (Windows Active Directory). This server is a domain member and use a publishing rule to publish the internal CAS. Allow users to change
password is selected in the publishing rules.
Exchange 2010 SP1 - uses integrated windows and basic authentication. Has the appropriate registry key configured to allow users to change their AD password on first logon.
I've registered an snp for "http/email.contoso.com mailserver-dc1", all SSL certificates being used are valid and my configuration used to allow users to login and change their password with "user must change password on first login"
set in AD.
If I launch a web browser on an internal server and point it to email.contoso.com I'm immediately presented with a generic Windows authentication request (similar to what's seen in ADFS) rather than the standard OWA page. No matter what I do, I cannot login
and change my password using the correct URL. However if I point my browser at
http://192.168.4.10/owa I'm prompted to login and I can change my password using the sam credentials.
The only recent changes made are:
- Disabling SSL 3.0 and enabling TLS (http://www.isaserver.org/articles-tutorials/configuration-security/improving-ssl-security-forefront-threat-management-gateway-tmg-2010-published-web-sites.html)
- Replacing the TMG listener certificates so that they now use SHA2 rather than SHA2 (certificates are trusted on each TMG server)
Looking on the outer TMG and the DC logs I can see schannel errors which I believe are related to the problem. TMG monitoring also shows "Failed connection attempt: 1907 The user'spassword must be changed before logging on for the first time"
I've checked that my inner TMG and DC are using the same certificate for server authentication and gone through this guide:

Help! For some reason i-tunes 12 wont allow users to re-download past purchases all at once like it used to. Is there a way around this? It will only allow you to download what it calls "Recent Purchases" which in my case only would allow 250 items. I know i have at least 700 tracks if not substantially more possibly over 2000 tracks but I can't be sure. I don't know how to find that information, I've looked in itunes under the my account past purchases but id doesn't tell you how many total songs you have purchased or any relevant details. It only shows you small chunks of receipts by date but no total tracks purchased in an easy to view snapshot that I could find. The current support page says that if you have more then 2000 songs the "ALL SONGS" tab now listed above the left pan with all your purchased artists, will change to "Recent Purchases". IF apple changed this on purpose to stop user from downloading there entire library to cut down on bandwidth they have really upset me this time. At present the only way I can download all past purchases is by selecting each artist listed in the left pan one by one selecting the "Download ALL" button at the bottom right corner of the page at which point I have to input my apple password each time, which really slows things down. I have hundreds of artists and if this is the only way for customers to re-download there entire library this is ridiculous and really unnecessary to put customers through this kind hassle just to re-download all there past purchases when the whole idea of i-cloud is to make downloading and using your music simple, quick, and convenient on multiple devices. I know the old saying "your responsible for backing up your data" yeah I know that and I've been doing that for years when no one really should ever have had too. There is no reason a service that sells music digitally should not allow customers to be able to re download content purchased on there service regardless of the fact that people should just back up anyway as an extra precaution. Well sometimes backups fail like in my case and I have to re-download. No wonder paid subscription plans are so popular. You don't have to deal with any of these issues. I can only hope this is some kind of oversight by apple and will be fixed soon. Can anyone offer a quicker solution or any information about this issue? I would greatly appreciate any helpful assistance.
Again this is for Windwos 8.1 x64 with Itunes 12.0.1.26

After spending way too much time dealing with this issue myself, I discovered that you can:
- Within "My Music", select all the songs you need to download (all w/ the cloud icon - use Shift-Click)
- Right click and select download
All songs will begin downloading from iCloud
