"Disk burner or Software not found" error message when using iTunes

My g/f has Vista 64-bit. iTunes used to work until we installed Nero. Granted it's more then likely Neros fault since it went ape** with the registry files but has anyone else lost iTunes burnability after installing Nero?

I seem to be suffering from this very same predicament. And it is really giving me the *****. I installed a new DVD drive that came with the latest version of nero but, I'm not sure that is the problem. When i hit the advanced tab in the preferences and go to burning, it still registers the old CD burner. This seems to be the one feature that can't be changed in that window. Every other burning program on my computer doesn't seem to have a problem. It's just itunes. I want to be able to burn discs from itunes but I can't. Can one of you brainiacs out there in cyber space tell me how to sort this out.

Error 2510/2355 - Disk burner or software not found

When I run as administrator, I get Error 2510. When I run as a regular user, I get Error 2355. Either way, and in safe mode or not, I get the "Disk burner or software not found" error when trying to burn CDs. iTunes was working wonderfully for ages and overnight (literally) it stopped writing CDs. There has been no new hardware or software in my system around the time it stopped working (unless my anti-virus missed something). Help please!
What I’ve tried:
Un-install and re-install iTunes.
Steps from: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3299 (but then CDROM didn't work for regular use)
All of the steps from: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2308 including solution 3 (manually un- and re-install GEAR drivers)
Ran System File Checker (no problems found), reboot, reinstall Gear Drivers
NOTE: When putting a CD into the drive, I can select Play From Itunes and it works fine.

The last failed audio CD burn had error code 4251(0x0000109b). It happened on drive E: HP DVD Writer 1260v on CDR media at speed 16X.

Hi all....
The problem is whenever i try and burn a cd in iTunes (7.7.1) i am getting the error message 'Disk burner or software not found',it will usually give another error message '0x80020025'?
I have tried resetting the finder when this happens but to no avail.I'm also pretty sure this has only started happening since the download of 7.7.Also when i check the 'prefrences' section in iTunes it does recoqnise the burner (MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-845E).I have also tried other burning software but they dont work either?
Any help on this would be greatly appriecated guys ,thanks

I'm afraid I can't be of much help finding a solution.
Although you are using the same drive on a Windows system, the software that supports it works different.
The PatchBurn 'trick' only works on Macs and I don't know a similar application for Windows.
Things to check:
Can you burn an Audio CD with another application.
Can you burn Data CDs.
I suggest, you try to answer the above questions and start a topic in the 'Importing & Burning in iTunes for Windows' forum.
There are several users posting there who know way more of the ins and outs of Windows than I do, and probably can help you.

HELP! i was trying to burn a cd from itunes, which i just updated to the new one today, and everytime i try to burn a cd it says disk burner or software not found. i don't know what to do and i tried something b4 when this happened once b4. but i don't remember exactly what it was that i had to delete. i do remember deleting some applescripts in something in my folder. again i'm a girl and i have no clue on how to fix the problem, but i know i can at home. if anyone knows anything, or understands me, please i'm open to all suggestions. thanks

Itunes tells me "disk burner or software not found" when trying to burn a CD.

After running a diagnostics test I cant figure out the issue myself, and didnt know where else to turn. Here are the results of the test.

That program has NOT worked for me. I was hoping - in fact it seemed to slow down i-tunes horribly loading and caused it to hang several times.
IN the past I had this problem and had to edit a configuration file. Everything was fine until I updated, and no matter what I can't seem to get it working again.

After changing that line 10 thousand ways until Sunday, with a 0, with a zero, with a carriage return, with a pipe, with a space...nothing is working!
I constantly get a error on i-tunes starting, and it still ISN'T burning.
It would be really nice IF i-tunes would provide the correct file FOR the sony CRX160E drives.
Also, I can't seem to search in these forums, that would REALLY help.

And yes, I HAVE uninstalled/reinstalled and tried to do a repair MULTIPLE times. I have a feeling the problem is either disck drive or video card problems. But am not tech Savvy enough to know how to fix. The problem origionated after I had a problem with my other computer and we had all our data transfered from that hard drive to a new computer (this one) and since then I have not been able to burn CDs. I have been able to take music (import) from cds and put them in itunes. So it's just the burning I have a problem with. Any help would be MUST appreciated. Thanks!

Failed loading CD / DVD drives, error -43. Try doing a repair install on iTunes from the “Add or Remove Programs” control panel.
After running theses diagnostics I did try a repair and restart again, but it still came up as this.

On a Mac, receiving the -9812 error message when using iTunes

I have a friend with an iMac that is running OS 10.5.7 and iTunes 8.2 (23). When she tries to either order a song, select the Account link or the Buy iTunes Gifts link an error message "-9812 there is a problem with the iTunes store, please check back later." appears on screen. Another Mac (Mac mini) on the network has no problems connecting and purchasing music via iTunes. There are no firewalls setup on the machine that is having issues. The system firewall is setup to allow iTunes incoming connections.

If you're sending as SMS (green bubble) then this is a carrier issue and not an issues with your phone.
To text internationally, you nearly always need to include the country code before the rest of the phone number. If you are doing so and still have issues, contact your carrier.

when I try to burn a disk. How can I fix this? I tried usuing another application to burn my itunes purchased music onto a CD but it said it couldn't read the file. So how can I fix this problem on itunes? Or is there another free application that can read .m3u files.

Do you have a copy of Daemon Tools installed on that system?

Disc burner or software not found comes up when I try to burn a disc on iTunes.

I read a few old threads about this that said to check the disc permissions on disk utility and did all that. I read something else that said turn the computer off and turned it off and then on again but it didn't help.This is the first disc I have tried to burn since downloading mavericks. I haven't had any trouble before although I don't burn too many discs. I have an early 2009 iMac. Thanks for any help.

You may need to replace the PRAM battery. Anytime it is over 4 years old, it can make the optical drive act up.

Please help! Whenever I try to start up itunes a box
comes up and says:
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk
into drive\Device\Harddisk\DR3
I have tried updating my itunes and ipod, but nothing
has gotten rid of this box. When the box is up it
freezes itunes and I cannot do anything but end the
task.

I am having the EXACT same problem since I installed the update to itunes and tried to use my existing data on a new computer since my old one took a crap. An answer to this would be nice. I can't find anything.
