Disk crash deleted my iPhoto v9.4.2 how can a re-install without paying a second time?
After a disk crash, the iphoto v9.4.2 I bought via iTunes, using my Apple ID, is not longer on my machine, how can I restore it? iPhoto doesn't open my libraries because I have made changes to the libraries with version v9.4.2 while the reinstalled iphoto from ilife disk is an older version. I bought the v9.4.2 on 10 February 2013.

Yes, that is the simple solution, isn't it. Except that re-install is not an option. But, as impatient as I am, the re-install is part of the "buy now". Simple: I clicked on "Buy Now" and Apple came back with the pop up message the product was free as I haved bought it already. Installed and working al-right now. Thanks for your reply though. Hope my reply helps others not to be afraid to buy anything again, and to trust Apple. We love you Apple!

I updated my iOS, and when I was typing out a message to someone via imessage (as it forced it on) and I deleted the last one I sent (definitely not delete all, I didn't 'fat finger' it either) but for some reason it deleted the whole entire message trail, which had a couple of years of messages in it, some of which I wanted to keep - annoyed feeling commenced!!
I've since figured out how to totally turn off imessage as I hate how it looks/ feels, and have reverted to SMS messages, but have lost all of my old messages to that one person.
I've used a 3rd party bit of software and it found all the messages for me, but I have to pay for them to restore them and I'm not paying what they're trying to charge.
Given that iTunes has already sync'd since this nightmare, is there another free way to recover them and get them back on my phone though?
Thanks in advance for any help!!I know of no way to remove encryption on iTunes backups if you've forgotton the password. If you've used the 4 digit PIN code to lock your iPhone in the past that can sometimes default as your "password" for this encryption in iTunes. Try that PIN or any PIN you've used in the past. If you don't use a lock maybe you played around with that feature once when you first got your phone....try "1,2,3,4" or anything you could have possibly tried.
As far as accessing older unencrypted backups you can try this software. I do not have any experience using it but it seems like it's what you need and is probably the easiest route for both voicemail and texts:

I know with AT&T, voicemails are only stored on their servers for 30 days so any voicemail older than that you would not have been able to access again.

I'd like to download Yosemite. I am using Snow Leopard. Do I have to download the next OS X in order, or can I go straight to Yosemite, and if so, how do I go about it?
If the computer has a recovery partition, press the Command and R keys at startup and use it to download Yosemite. If not, open the Mac App Store, log in with your Apple ID, click on the Purchases tab, and redownload Yosemite from there.
Both of these are free.

That means the hard drive of your computer is full, and you don't have enough free space on your computer, to do what you are trying to do.
You need to clear up space on your computer.
If you hard drive is full, check the following places to ensure they are not holding unwanted data.
- your trash can in the dock
- if you use iPhoto, your trash in iPhoto - launch iPhoto, and select trash in the left hand column. iPhoto has it's own trash, and is often overlooked
- your download folder - finder / home user / downloads - every time you download something, it stores it here. This is often overlooked as well
- do you have more than one user on the computer? If you do, ensure they are needed. If not, delete them, and the contents of their home folders
If you hard drive is very full, you may want to consider the following:
- putting in a newer larger hard drive - (call you local apple store for prices on this)
- deleting data off your computer
- moving data to an external drive - (iPhoto Libraries, iTunes Libraries or iMovie events, as they are the biggest space hogs) -

Go to System Preferences > iCloud and turn iCloud off.
Restart holding the Command and R keys and then choose to reinstall Mac OS X. If you have applicaitons on the machine that should not be transfered to another party, after the restart choose Disk Utility and erase the hard drive and then install Mac OS X...that will return the machine to factory condition. -
How Can I re-Install Bootcamp? I deleted it from my applications somehow.
I have recently purchased an i7 core processor MacBook Pro and I am trying to install BootCamp so I can run a Windows program. I have 2 other MacBooks running BootCamp (one Windows XP and the other Windows 7).When I tried to run the Windows XP install DVD the MacBook wouldn't read it (I have an update DVD to upgrade to Windows 7 once XP is installed). Appearently XP is no longer supported by BootCamp, so I will get a Windows 7 install disk.
I have somehow merged BootCamp and it is no longer in my applications list in Finder. How can I re-install BootCamp? Is there a way to do this without wiping the disk clean and re-installing the Snow Leopard OS?
I also have a Parallels 6 DVD. Should I just use it and forget running BootCamp? I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 with 4 GB 1067MHz DDR3.

CurtIf the computer came with 10.7 Lion installed NEW then you cannot install XP or Vista now. If it's an older one then you can still use XP and upgrade to Lion and it will still work.
You do not have to install XP in order to Upgrade to W7. It will just erase and install over XP anyway. You cannot merge the OS together like you would with VIsta and W7. That's the only way you can install W7 over XP is a clean install. You already have the legal XP disk so you can just skip that step and just go to installing the Upgrade version of W7 as it is mentioned by Microsoft. There are a few ways of installing with the Upgrade version the easiest way is to just install W7 normally then without updating or authorizing it reinstall over the new install and then you can authorize it and update it normally and all is good.
I'm not sure what you mean by merged Boot Camp?
Have you done a search in Spotlight for "Boot Camp Assistant" and see what it says? Worst case scenario you can just re-install (Restore?) 10.6 over itself and it will just reinstall the core OS without deleting anything else. Click on your empty desktop and at the top of the Apple Menu click on Help and type in Reinstalling Mac OS X and follow the instructions.
Also you do have an Application Disk along with the OS disk to restore applications with, Boot Camp Assistant should be on there, you will just have to make sure to use the Apple Software Updater to make sure it gets updated before you need it.
As far as using VMWare/Parallels, if you have a heavy duty program that is processor heavy or needs a lot of ram then you may need to use Boot Camp for the native use of the hardware. If you don't need the full Proc or lot's of ram then a Virtual disk is fine. Myself I use both, I can boot into Windows for the heavy programs and stay in the Mac side and use Parallels for the lighter applications. I'm still using 10.6 so I don't have it installed on my Lion HD yet so I don't know how Version 6.x works in Lion. -

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

How can I boot my PXI controller into real-time without a floppy disk?
My PXI controller is in a lab which has intense magnetic fields that could corrupt the floppy disk used to boot the PXI controller into the LabVIEW Real-Time (RT) Operating System. How can I boot the PXI controller into real-time directly from the hard drive?
If you are using LabVIEW 5.1.2 Real-Time (RT), launch Remote System Explorer and select Disks >> Create Format Hard Drive Disk. If you have LabVIEW 6 RT, launch the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and select Tools >> RT PXI Disk Utilities >> Create Format Hard Drive Disk (LabVIEW RT 6 has not be released yet). Once you have created the disk, boot the PXI controller with the Format Hard Drive Disk, and this will format the PXI's hard drive and install the real-time OS boot loader. Now you can reboot the PXI without a floppy disk and configure the PXI using Remote System Explorer or MAX. Be aware that this will remove all information from the hard drive, including other operating systems.
