Disk drive continues to eject digital dvd copy.

I recently puchased blu-ray with digital copy combo.  I tried to load digital copy to redeem but disk drive continues to eject digital dvd without reading it and no dialogue box.  How do I fix to redeem movie?

If disk drive rejects ONLY that disk, then you have a compatibility issue with that disk or that generation of disks. What about other optical disks, CDs or DVDs? Do they behave OK? If a superdrive, test recording a CD or DVD using a rw disk. If all is OK, the answer is simple: that very disk is not compatible with that generation of optical drives.
that generation of optical drives cannot—for sure—run blu-ray disks.

I am also having a similar issue. I used Adobe Lightroom and my whole display goes black. Even my laptop screen and the lights on the keyboard go black. I can still hear the fan running, so I assume it is just the display. This is my first Mac and I have had nothing but issues. I think I am going back to Windows after this.

  • Problems re-installing PSE10 using disks. Disk drive will not eject. [was: Question]

A virus fried my PC and I am re-installing Photoshop Elements 10.  When prompted to install Disk 2 the disk drive will not eject.  I have to uninstall Disk 1 before it will eject.

There is no question in your posting.

  • My disk drive keeps spitting out my dvd that I'm trying to brun a slideshow on.

My disk drive keeps spitting out my dvd that I'm trying to brun a slideshow on. Why is it doing this and how can I fix ASAP?

You usually go all the way into the Burn process until it says "Insert a blank DVD now", THEN put in the DVD.
If you put the DVD in early, Mac OS X looks at it, decides it is blank and therefore useless, and spits it out.

  • Digital DVD copy not working

I've installed many digital DVD copies before so I don't know what went wrong and how I can re-download it, since I can't use the same code twice. Is it even a fixable problem?
There's no picture – it's just a white screen instead, no sound. It's for a recent release, "Twilight."

    Hi,
Have you installed any 3rd-party QuickTime components?
This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24166 describes a similar issue caused by 3rd-party QuickTime components.
    Try removing any components, which are generally located in /Library/QuickTime(Launch Finder> click Go> Computer> Macintosh HD> Library> QuickTime) or ~/Library/QuickTime(Launch Finder> click Go> Home> Library>QuickTime).

  • Disk drive won't eject

This morning I can't eject the drive to simply insert a disk. When going to the File tab in the Finder EJECT is grayed out and the computer isn't responding to the button. I've already shut down and restarted once but that didn't help any and there's no indication that there's a disk stuck in there either. Any ideas?
I've hardly used the CD/DVD drive here at work since most of my files are obtained via memory sticks, ftp sites and the company network. Not sure if that has anything to do with my problem but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to include it.

If you have a wired mouse try holding down the mouse button while powering on.
Another trick is to launch iTunes, make a one song play list and tell itunes to burn the disk. At that point iTunes will spit out the disk and ask for a new one. Just hit cancel at that point and hopefully the disk will be out.

  • My Disk Drive won't read my DVD or CD's

Basically, my Macbook Pro won't "suck in" any disks.. It won't recognise them or anything.. Help?

    Look at your System Profiler

is the DVD drive being recognized here?
    Also >>>>>Hardware>Serial-ATA

  • Transferring purchased digital DVD copy to iPod

I recently purchased a DVD (Juno) with a redeemable code to download a digital copy for use with an iPod. I followed the instructions, redeemed the code, and was able to download it into iTunes. However, when I try to sync it to my iPod (30G 5th generation), I am told that I'm not authorized to play it on my computer. What's going on, and how can I get the copy I bought to sync?

I am having an exact same problem! How do you "authorize" the movie, please?

  • My disk drive quit keeping dvd's

I have an early 2008 macbook and wouldn't you know, just after my apple care was up so was my disk drive. It will except dvd's but then it spits them back out as soon as it is in. I'm hoping maybe someone would know if maybe it might be a software problem instead of hardware. I'd appreciate any advise that might be helpful. I bought this new from the apple store and have taken exemptionaly good care of it. It has never taken any kind of abuse and has very little signs of aging, so I am pretty upset that this is happening.
    Thank you

The drive accepts discs but they do not mount or are automatically ejected
Check the disc's surface for scratches and dirt, since these things can prevent the disc from appearing on the desktop.
Reset the Power Manager (PMU) or System Management Controller (SMC).
Ensure your drive can read the specific type of disc being used. For example a "combo drive" can read a DVD-R and burn a CD-R however it cannot burn a DVD-R. The utility System Profiler may provide additional information regarding what media your computer supports.
If the discs continue to not be recognized, please contact Apple, contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or make an appointment with an Apple Retail Store for additional troubleshooting, evaluation, or service.

  • I have a hard disk drive with data that i want to back up onto another hard disk drive. I tried just copy and it won't let me paste it in the new drive. I have also tried to drag the files across and they won't go across. Does anyone know how to do this?

I have an external hard disk drive with data that I want to back up onto another extrnal hard disk drive. I have tried to copy and paste but this wont give me a paste option. I have also tried to click and drag but it wont let me either. I have reformatted the external hard drive to accept both mac and pc files and this did not make any difference. Can anyone help me with this?

How did you reformat the drive? If you formatted it as NTFS, your Mac will not be able to write files to it unless you use a small application such as Paragon's.
Please reply as to how you formatted the drive.

  • My hard disk drive failed.  How do I deactivate that copy?

My hard disk drive failed.  The genius at The Apple Store checked it out and said it was dead.  Apple sold me another drive with just the operating system on it.  Now when I installed Photoshop CS6, I am told that this is my second copy.  How do I deactivate the copy on the failed disk drive.  I was able to copy most of my data files from the drive.  I do not know if the copy of Photoshop on that drive still works or not.  What should I do?

Call Adobe support to reset activations. Have your papers handy...

  • Disk Drive ejecting itself

My Time Machine disk drive has been "ejecting" itself since I installed Snow Leopard. I'm not unplugging it, or turning it off. I'm not touching it.
I'm getting the following error message:
"The disk was not ejected properly. If possible, always eject a disk before unplugging it or turning it off."
My question is why would a disk drive be "ejecting" itself. I've turned off the auto backups, and unselected the drive as the backup disk. It is still "ejecting" itself which leads me to believe the problem isn't with Time Machine but with something else - something connected with Snow Leopard because this wasn't happening five days ago before I installed SL.

Does your external drive have its own power source or does it receive its power over the data cable?

  • Disk Drives for iMac

I purchased an iMac (Intel) to be delivered in Jan.  To my dismay it does not have a disk drive.  Some peripherals (printers an example) require loading a disk before use of the peripheral.  I also plan to set up a music library using iTunes and my large CD collection to then transfer to iPod I purchased.  I need suggestions for a reliable external disk drive that accepts CDs and DVDs, and something other than Apple's USB SuperDrive which has many poor reviews.

I would look into OWC (www.macsales.com) for a large variety of EHD's, any would do fine. I would recommend buying at least 2, you will need one for external storage and the second for your Time Machine backup drive. DO NOT, repeat DO NOT use the same external EHD for storage and backup. Even though it's possible it's foolish because when (not if!!!!) that EHD fails you will have lost EVERYTHING that is stored on it including it's  backup.

It depends on what kind of digital copy you have.  This article goes ino details regarding the two types, and depending on the type you have, you may or may not need the DVD to redeem the code.
