Disk failed, got a new one. How can I install the Windows 8 without paying?
So I got this product and after a year and a half disk had errors and had to replace it. Now I'm struggling to install windows 8 again! how can I do it without buying Windows 8?

In all probability you installed the wrong version of Windows that matches the key that was originally installed on your system. Definitely it was not Pro but probably the standard, Windows 8.1

If you cannot install with the proper key you will have to order recovery disks. If you live in the USA/Canada, call HP at this number 1-800-334-5144, and see if you can still get a set of recovery disks. Otherwise the WorldWide site:

Well if you don't have the laptop to get the storage drive out of it, and you don't have any previous backups how do you expect to get the photo's?
PhotoBooth is just a program, it stores the files on the computers storage drive, if the computer is lost so are your photo's.
There is nothing you can do to delete or retrieve them using your new computer unless you stored them online someplace.
DId you save them online? iDisk or something else?
I don't use such services because my data is mine and not theirs to snoop through, so if your looking for that sort of help I can't assist you any. -

Contacts are not a part of back up.
Contacts are sync with a compatible programme on your computer depending on your operating system (Windows or Mac). For example, Microsoft Outlook (for both Windows and Mac), Windows Contacts (for Windows) and Addressbook (for Mac).
Or contacts are also backed up in iCloud (depending if you chose to do so).
So, sync back the contacts from any of these programmes. If you have not made a backup of your contacts in any of these progammes, then they are gone.

Iphone 5 stollen got a new one but can't get the icloud backup
My Iphone was stollen and I put on lost mode on "find my Iphone". Now I have a new one and I'm trying to get the backup from icloud, but I always get a message that my Apple ID is locked. I've already reset my password twice and deleted the previous equipment from the app (Find my Iphone), but I still can't get the backup.
what should I do?? TksFor you to get the pictures off the old device, you would need to have connected the device to the computer in the past, so you could select it to trust the devices. Without a working screen on the device you will not be able to do that. Because of that, you would not be able to even use your computer to navigate the file system to get the photos. Since you never created a backup in iTunes, did you do one in iCloud? If not, then the pictures cannot be recovered. Why would you not backup your phone, or import photos to the computer like you would with a digital camera?

I'm having a lot of trouble with this new version of itunes. I never had problems before. Is there a way to get the older version of itunes back so I can be happy once again?

What is it that you are having issues with?
Did you know that you can display the same sidebar you were used to seeing on the old iTunes by clicking on "View" at the top, and then clicking on "Show Sidebar"?
The Songs tab provdes your list of songs that can have the same columns you had on the old Music tab, and you can sort them by any of the categories you have selected for columns.
It may just take a little getting used to. Not sure if you noticed, but the downloading of songs and other purchases is now lightening-fast. That particular trade-off is worth learning some new ways of navigating around. And finding that there are ways to bring back the "look" of the old iTunes was also helpful for me.
Are there particular things which are causing you grief?

I'm trying to update the firmware on a mid2010 macbook pro whose hard drive failed. In order to use Internet Recovery I need to update the firmware. I don't have an OS to boot to YET so I'm no sure how to use the DMG file via a direct boot.

It is very possible but you need to create the Lion Recovery Disk Assistant, Recovery HD USB drive, on the computer it is going to be used on from the Recovery HD partition that is on that computer when Lion and the R-HD is on that system.
In all honesty Apple should have a method and instruction on how to create a REAL Lion Install Thumb drive or DVD if you like. In stead of this STUPID Download system. -

What kind of iPod are you getting to replace it? If it is an iPod Touch, and you are in the US, after you set up the Touch you can use the iCloud beta and download your previous music, books and app purchases directly to your Touch.

Hold down the Option key while you boot your Mac. Then, it should show you a selection of devices. Click your flash drive and it will boot from that.
