"Disk is full" error message

I get an error message that says "disk is full" when I try to save a photo from Photoshop 7 to my new external hard drive. Running Windows 7.

Most likely your disk is full . If you go to Preferences/Performance you are able to change your active Scratch Disks.

    stuff, this site has issues.
Okay, what I need to know is why I am getting a "disk full" error message when I try to save photos. This has only started to happen and my disk drives have plenty of space left on them.

Thanks, but what is the Scratch disk set?

  • Cannot save file, disk is full error

i am running indesign cs3 ver 5.0.3 and i have installed the update patch. just finished an ad, went to save, and received this error message:<br /><br />cannot save <filename> under a new name. disk is full. (error code: 4)<br /><br />any ideas? i tried rebooting, deleting the preferences for indesign. i can't export it as anything else and i can't make a print ready pdf either .... any help would be greatly appreciated!

Seems obvious, but I wonder why you didn't mention it. Maybe your hard
disk is full, or close to it? Usually "disk is full" means just that.
Your computer needs a few gigabytes of free space all the time.
First thing I'd want to do is go to each hard disk, right-click, choose
Properties, then Disk Cleanup. This will get you enough space so you can
breathe a little. Then think about ways to get more room: either a new
hard disk or get some of the old stuff archived.

  • Memory full error message when battery is low

(Ive done a check and cant find anything similar)
I have an E71 and keep getting "memory full" error messages ONLY when the battery is low. I have 109 free memory out of 119, and when I connect to the USB it says it doesnt recognise it, so I cant save anything to computer, not that there is anything on there.
The problem is, because it says MEMORY FULL, it wont recharge, even when the charger is plugged in and switched on. Which means basically the phone is useless.
I think this has to be a softwear problem and not a Ive-misused-it-problem because the MEMORY FULL ! message comes up only with low battery.

Hi have you checked if your 920 memory is full via the Settings > Phone Storage to ensure that your 920 has got enough memory? Otherwise, have you checked your car stereo itself (is it a model that has built-in flash storage or hard drive storage) for its memory capacity?

  • E71 "memory full" error message

    Hi there,
I've had an E71 for 7 months now and started receiving a "memory full" error message today at 1 min intervals.  I still have full functionality and have checked the phone memory which still has 1695MB free with only 191MB in use.  How do I get rid of this error message?
    Thanks

"Memory full" is a RAM issue. You've enough space on your memory card. Clean out messages, browser cache, etc....

  • I am getting "Disk is Full" errors

Yesterday we starting getting "Disk is Full" errors on our 1TB iMac.  We have approximately 100GB of music, photos, etc., as well as the operating system and Office.  It does not seem as if this should fill up the disk.  In looking at the activity monitor, it shows that 999GB is in use, with 1GB free (approximately).  While I was watching the activity monitor, it went from 1.7 GB free down to 1GB, while nothing was being (intentionally) downloaded.  Virusbarrier did a full sweep and returned no threats; spotlight turned up no files added or modified yesterday to help identify where the space is being used.  Any hints on what is causing this?  Any tips on how to locate where these supposed "files" are being saved?

Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To really see everything, you have to run it as root.
First, back up all data if you haven't already done so. No matter what happens, you should be able to restore your system to the state it was in at the time of that backup.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. When you're done with it, quit it and also quit Terminal.

    3. Check other online forums and try to empty sace.
    4. I deleted about 60-70GB worth of files from my macbook, but it still says only 1.89GB available.

  • "Disk Full" error message on Muvo TX FM 512, connected to Wi

The Muvo TX FM 52 connects fine to my Windows 2000 laptop, and my windows XP desktop, but when transferring files (drag and drop) I get an error message stating that the disk is full. Windows explorer and Checkdisk both report over 00 MB available. Not sure what to make of the problem, and am open to suggestions.

    - No, it doesn't appear. But, I don't physically have the player....it's with my daughter who li'ves in another town. According to her, it did not show up in My Computer. In fact, when she put the player into her USB port on the laptop, it didn't say "found hardware" or any message, which it usually does.
I know her laptop has Windows XP sp2, she has Windows Media Player 0, but not Creative Media Source, since we did not install the CD that came with the player onto her laptop. I didn't think it needed any drivers since it's XP. Isn't that correct? Or is that the problem?
2 - My other problem lies with the new MuVo TX FMG player I received yesterday. My PC has Windows XP Pro, no service packs. How come when I transferred music to it, nothing happened, shows "no music" when I turned it on. I saw all the files transferring. Yet when I go to explore the dri've on the PC, the music is all folders, like 50 of them? The music is there but doesn't show up on the player.
I used WMP to transfer the music, using drag and drop. I wound up deleting everything and transferred the same music using Creative Media Source and that works fine. I am very confused with both players. Thank goodness all I do is build and repair PCs!!! MP3 stuff is over my head I think!
Sorry, this post really should have been in two questions.

  • "startup disk full" error message

So, I get this error message saying "your startup disk is full: you need to make disk space available by deleting files" (or something along those lines). I went through my files, saved about 10 gigs of stuff to my external HD, then deleted it from my mac HD.
I keep getting this message, even after clearing up several gigs of space. When I boot up my computer, I have about 448mb of space on my HD, but it seems to disappear within a few minutes, even without any activity on my part.
    Thanks.
    -Erik

A Unix-based OS such as OS X requires hard drive space for log and cache files; this can take anywhere from 64MB to 2GB depending on how much RAM you have, how long since the cron maintenance tasks last ran, whether anyting is causing large write operations to the various logs, and so on. As a rule of thumb, you don't want an OS X Mac to drop below about 5GB free space, minimum; a oft-cited ballpark of keeping 10 to 15% of the hard drive free allows for user-created data and allows some safety margin.
If a Unix computer fully runs out of space, the computer can fail to start normally. You'd then face starting in single-user mode (hold the command and s keys down at startup), which puts you in a Unix command line interface. It's possible to use Unix commands to navigate around and search for unnecessary files to delete, but doing so if definitely non-trivial.
While written for Tiger, Francine: A Miscellany of Mystifying Tiger Problems has some useful tips you can try.
If you moved several GB to the Trash and tried to empty the Trash while the Mac's hard drive was nearly full, that effort may have unintentionally corrupted the disk directory. Boot from your OS X Install disc to launch Disk Utility from the Installer menu, and run Repair Disk on the hard drive (see Using Disk Utility and fsck). If repairs are reported, repeat Repair Disk until no problems are found. If DU is unable to repair the drive, DiskWarrior can often make directory repairs that DU cannot.

  • Disk full error message! But disk is not full!!!

I kept having this message "The disk is full trying to write to Macintosh HD. Free some space on this drive, ..."  while working on Microsoft Word for Apple. But I have check on my Macintosh HD and there is still plenty of available space. What is wrong???

I'm getting the same error. I tried to purchase a movie and iTunes told me I didn't have enough store credits, even though I was attempting to use my credit card. I finally was able to click the 'buy now'; but now it won't download the movies, giving me the same error and a message window which states:
There was a problem downloading "x movie".
The disk you are attempting to use is full.

  • Why am I getting a "Disk Full" error message when attempting to export?

I am trying to export my movie at large quality or higher and every time it gives me a "disk full" error. However, I was able to successfully export it at medium quality. I don't understand why I would be getting that error though because both my internal hard drive and external drive, which I am exporting from (but onto the internal), have ample amount of space to accommodate for a large or HD quality video. Any help would be much appreciated!

How much space do you have?

  • Start up disk full error message

I just started getting an error message that states that the "start up disk has not more space available for application memory". So how can I fix this myself?

Btw my HD specs say my capacity is 999.86 GB, my available is 869.24 GB. I checked and my daily, weekly, monthly scripts all appear to be running properly. Is there something else I should look at to fix this problem?
