Disk Sharing- Multiple disk installation

This was already asked by another user here (with no response or resolution) and I have exactly the same problem.
I have an MBA(4,1), and I'm trying to install Adobe CS3 via Disk Sharing from an iMac. Installation proceeds through disk 1, but fails when I'm prompted to insert disk 2. The installation program never seems to recognize that disk 2 has been inserted into the iMac.
Any ideas?

I gave up on installing via Disk Sharing, too. In my case, CS3 was already installed on the iMac, so I just copied all the application files and files from /Library/Application Support/Adobe over to my MBA (not sure if that was necesary). That also worked like a charm.

Hard Disk Installation, from other OS with Grub 2

I'm quite new to Arch, but not very new to Linux / Unix / BSD.
Currently - on my laptop (not a very new one ... ) - I have other distro (One of the Canonical distro's ).
But I have few gigabytes left - and really want to try Arch.
Now I want - just for the fun of learning - to install from Hard Drive. (why waste a CD?)
The Arch Wiki has the page [wiki]Hard Disk Installation[/wiki], with the section "Chainload Grub from your Existing Bootloader".
This section explains about GRUB, not about GRUB 2. And my current other distro uses Grub 2 .
So ... my question is:
How to do it with GRUB 2?

THIS IS WHAT I REALLY NEEDED TO KNOW.
1. Opening the iMac and installing your own HDD will immediately void the warranty.
THIS IS A GOOD ENOUGH REASON ALONE FOR ME NOT TO FIDDLE UNTIL THE WARRANTY HAS RUN OUT
2. The two systems use completely different partitioning schemes for the drive, you cannot run a PPC version of Mac OS X on an Intel Mac, and you should not run a version of Mac OS X on a Mac that predates or is older than the version with which it was shipped (All new Macs ship with 10.5.6 or newer and cannot run 10.4).

Insert the Snow Leopard DVD, restart your MacBook while holding down the C key, this should start your Mac from the optical drive instead of your hard drive. Choose your language and install Snow Leopard. When it's done and you've restarted on your new 10.6.3 system run software update to upgrade to 10.6.8. Done.

/boot Partiton on One Flash Drive, Multiple Arch Installs

I have read some people have done this, but I have yet to find clear guidance on the topic from perusing BBS (maybe I cannot find the right thread) or the Arch Wiki, but if I wanted to put boot on a flash drive, and have that flash drive handle different LUKS on LVM volumes on different laptops, how would I set that up?
Do I have to write out the grub conf files in the 40_custom file by hand or is there a way to have different grub2 confs in the same partition so I can have the same flash, dedicated to only a /boot partition, properly boot up separate laptops with the least amount of effort? Thanks for the help.

IPhoto for iPad sharing multiple pics

I am trying to share photos to my camera roll, but only get the option to share one at a time. The share multiple is greyed out. Is there any way of sharing multiple photos to roll?

To make an edited image go to Photo Stream you need to share that image to the camera roll as detailed here: http://help.apple.com/iphoto/ipad/1.0/#blnkee26bc1f. Multiple BAM installations on the same machine?

Hi guys,
I have a customer with the following requirement:
"We have installed BAM 10.1.3.3 with EL and upgraded to 10.1.3.4. It is currently using a remote database 10.2.0.3 in our test envt. We want to use the same Windows server for monitoring our Development enviroment also using the Dev database. Is it feasible or will it corrupt the IIS of the windows machine already running BAM 10.1.3.4. Please provide your recommendations on this, whether to have separate windows servers or we can have multiple BAM installations on same server."
Any ideas on this?

Issue with multiple application installation and server share

SCCM 2007 SP2 R3 ICP2
All servers W2K8R2
I am having an issue with software installs. When using a variable for multiple applciation installs, I get access errors when the applications go to install. It appears to be a multiple connection issue, but I can't figure out why.
I am using server shares for my DPs. The proper permissions are set. The servers (DP) are W2K8R2. I think it has to do with the way R2 handles the conenctions. I want to know if this is a known issue or if anyone has come accross
it.
I am going to post in the software distribution forum as well, but thought this would be a config question.

Hi! I'm waking up this dead thread but I've got a *very* similar problem!
I've got a SCCM 2007 SP2 R3 installation on Win2008. All clients are in the same ConfigMgr-site. Multiple package deploy in the same site-boundary as the CM-server works excellent. (We've got three DPs in the same site-boundary as the
CM-server itself.)
Now, we have a new site-boundary with it's own Protected DP where multiple package deploy fails
but the same packages, being run from the task-sequnce works! So then the client can download, install and run the packages from the proteced DP just fine. All "single" packages install fine before the "Multiple Appliaction"-step.
I've tripple checked that we're running the same packages when we're installing Multiple Packages as we do in the Task-Sequence. And
the same Task-sequence with the Multiple Package installation step
works fine in our site-boundary where the ConfigMgr-server is installed.

I know that the TS checks package dependencies before executing the TS. That's not possible with Multiple packages since they are variable dependant. I think this is somehow related although it doesn't explain why my client can't authenticate properly.
The Network Access Account is a member of Domain Users and Domain Users have Read Access on the share and on the folder of the VAXCMDP01 DP - which should be identically configured to our other DPs closest to our ConfigMgr Server.
Any ideas?

How to determine Oracle_Home default from multiple home installation?

Does anyone know how to determine the current Oracle Home default in the registry when multiple Oracle Home exists?
Both 8i and multiple 9i Version X's exist on a client machine. We need to determine the current default oracle home to determine path for various drivers.
In analyzing the Oracle Home registry keys I have been unable to find a means for identifying the current Oracle Home default.

Thank you for you reply, your advice is good. Unfortunately our application has to deal with all kinds of Oracle configurations and one of those is the multi-home issue. We have looked throughout the registry particular in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\ORACLE|ALL_HOMES\
but have not found any entry that would indicate a default home. One two different system installation of multiple client installations there is no DEFAULT_HOME. We do have the HOME0, HOME1, ... HOME4 but, these are just sequencial based on when they where installed not on the order of preference or any default setting. Problem is our application needs to know the default home to locate the appropriate drives to use and appropriate connects service to look-up(tnsname) also.

Multiple language installations

Hi All,
Does anyone have experience of knowledge of having multiple language installations of the same version i.e. both cs6 indesign.
For example having English, French and ME installed, deactivating and activating according to need.

Multiple language installer for Adobe Reader

I need a compressed multiple language installer for Adobe Reader to install with my software. Is one available?

When we requested a license to distribute the multi-language version of Adobe Reader with our software, we recieved the following link to a download:

When you click on the link, you get a single file (AdbeRdr11006_en_US.exe). This is an installation for english only. I am looking for a single .exe file for a multi-language installation.
The link you provided above is to a .zip file that must be extracted and then run. This requires additional steps in our installation process. We were hoping you have a single installation file to prevent these additional steps.

Can we have multiple grid installations on a RAC configuration

Hi,
I just want to check whether we can have multiple grid installations running in parallel on same configuration. For eg: A 3 node RAC having 11g and 12c RAC configurations running in parallel.
I understand that we can have multiple oracle database installations under a grid , but not sure of multiple grid installations.
Can someone guide me here ?

Yes,
Adobe Application Manager support installation of multiple application at a time but it will affect the perfomance of the system
in case hardware configuration is not adequate.

Multiple window disk installation

Is it safe to install 2 different disks onto the IBook in order to put windows on the computer? We have 2 different disk but we think based on the boot camp, it all needs to be combined onto one disk first.

If you have an iBook then you CAN NOT install Boot Camp and can not install Windows.
Boot Camp can only be installed on the new Intel Macs.

Disk Installation CS6 Master

I cannot find the set-up files to install the entire collection on disks 1,2,3. Auto-run is set in Windows7. None of the disks (3) have an overall install routine for ALL programs. Also cannot find link to directly contact customer support chat. Seems as though Adobe dosen't value its customers after receiving payment!

Install your software
Install a Creative Suite 6 suite or standalone product from disc
Locate all installation media and serial numbers before you begin the installation process.
Before you begin, close all applications, including your web browser. Make sure you have administrative privileges or can validate as an administrator.
If you are installing as an upgrade, the installer will check your system to find the valid upgrade product. If it cannot find it, it will ask you to input the serial number of the product being upgraded. You can also install the software in trial, then input your new and previous serial numbers in the serialization screen shown during launch.

Just in case you're interested, the download link that you so helpfully provided takes about 2 hrs to download! I'm absolutely thrilled that I purchased a product that has no active support, provides no linke for this most basic question, and has no on-line support in the Western Hemisphere or anywhere for clients that paid for the priviledge of being actively ignored.

Can I remove my CS5.5 from an old computer and install it onto a new one without the original disk/installation software?

I'm hoping to install my Adobe CS5.5 onto my new iMac from an older Mac-- can I do this without the original installation disks that I first installed my CS5.5 with?
