Disk space is not showing correctly in ASM views

Hi All,
I have 2 disk group of DATA (190 G) and RCV(10G). Total database size is 100 G. But v$asm_diskgroup is showing that I've only 38G is free. So what happen to rest 190-38-100=52 G.
SQL> Select total_mb, free_mb, name from v$asm_diskgroup;
TOTAL_MB FREE_MB NAME
184320 38329 DATA
10240 9681 RCV
Also why free_mb is showing 0 bytes and REDUNDANCY is showing UNKNOWN in place of EXTERNAL is in the v$asm_disk.

Where are you querying this view from? The database instance or the ASM instance?
Bear in mind that there is space overhead consumed by the mere act of creating an ASM disk group. Also bear in mind that if (I only say 'if') your redundancy was 'normal', for example, then although there might be 100GB of disk space available, only 50GB of that is usable (and only 33GB if redundancy was 'high').
In other words, if I had 100GB of disk space, actually only 50GB of that might be usable and I'd expect to lose another dollop of space on top of that to the ASM overhead -so a report of 38GB free might not be totally out of left field.
Sure, if you're not using normal redundancy, this argument falls on its face. But I can't tell that from the information you've provided (and neither, it seems, can Oracle itself!)

Hello Guys,
We have one DPM server (2K12 R2). Configured for D2D backup on HP storage. recently we have removed inactive protection of around 18 TB. But in Management Workspace it is showing only 110 GB space unallocated. If i view the things in Disk Management is also
not giving any clear picture. For example:
In Volume List it is displaying the space correctly but Graphical View is completely different.
Is there any way to claim this space in DPM console?

Hi Arun,
I assume the data was removed from Disk1 of the Disk Management screenshot - it seems that many partitions are displayed with gray.
If it is not a display issue, I cannot confirm if it is caused by storage device or Windows. It could also be caused if storage actually not "remove" data but just marked them as deleted - you may need to try a reboot or check if any specific option
is available on storage device side which could help release space.

HT4976 Some of emojis are not showing correctly in web view text are.

When I input emojis in webview's text area, some are not showing as a emojis, they are showing as a symbole e.x. ☺ (WHITE SMILING FACE),✌(VICTORY HAND) e.t.c., these are not the correct emoji as they are showing in apple device keyboard.
Can you please sugges me what should i do ?

Is Webview an app? If so, it may not support the Emoji font. Or, if you're talking about typing in a web page, the same maybe true. The iPhone Emoji font frequently shows up as garbage characters on other phones. It sound as if it's being converted to the Symbol font in whatever your trying to use it. Avoid use of the Emoji font unless you are communicating with other iOS devices.

Chart Ledgend Display Label not showing correctly in CR Viewer 2008

Hello All
I have a chart where I have edited the displayed Legend Name for 3 chart elements using Edit Axis Label. The three new labels display correctly in CR Designer, when I run the report in CR Viewer I see 2 ledgend labels with the Edited Label and the thrid displays Original Label.
Has anyone encounted this before and knows what the solution is or is this a Bug in the software, which requires an OSS?

I remember some Bugs related to chart labels fixed in Service Pack 3.
What service pack level you are?
If you have the same problems with Crystal Reports Viewer on SP3 level then we need more details about the issue to replicate and escalate it.
If you do not have SP3 yet, then please describe the steps, so we can test it in SP3.

If you are using File Vault, turn it off. To find out where all the extra space is use any of these products - Disk Inventory X

MacBook Pro with SSD that has a limited disk space (120GB). Rendering in Project File (User/Movies/Final Cut Projects), it takes huge space and the limited disk space would not be enough for the whole editing.

My question is, Is there any method to get the rendering Projects file saved into an external hard drive which is connected with USB/ Thunderbolt/ Firewire, with huge disk space (eg. 500GB HDD).
Now, new project created in my Mac is automatically saved in (User/Movies/Final Cut Projects) and my Mac has ran out of space to hold the files.

You have at least 3 different ways to show the project library:
1) Go to WIndow->Show Project Library
2) Click the button in bottom left of your window:
3) Hit the keyboard shortcut (Command-0)
The project library will be shown, occupying the area where the timeline usually is.
Your hard disks will be visible. Click the hard disk where you want the new project to reside and hit Cmd-N to create a new project.

When i press command+I (Get Info) i see that there is 140 GB "Available Space" on my hard disk but when i click on my hard disk icon on the desktop, and then press "space" i only see 102 GB free!! What the f*???

SharePont 2013 Document Library lookup Column Properties not Showing Correctly when editing in Word

I keep seeing this issue albeit intermittently. I have set up a doc library for my users which has a custom content type (lookup, metadata columns, etc) . They all appear perfectly most of the time except the lookup column. Sometimes is just
decides to display the title field of the current library and not the lookup list title . It is weird as it has been working perfectly for ages given the library is populated with valid documents.
There are some fixes listed here. Has anyone got any experience of this?

According to your post, my understanding is that the lookup column not display well while editing in word.
Did you customize the Document Information Panel?
I recommend you edit your custom document information panel or create a new document information panel, then re-publish it to check whether it works.

The web site of Adobe does not show correctly in FireFox

I have a bizarre problem. The site of Adobe (including where I can download the flash player) does not show correctly in FireFox and I only see it as a text HTML page, but without most images (typically, for instance, I do not see the image "Download now" but see a text line "Dowload now", and so on...
This seems to specifically affect the Adobe web site as I have no problme for other web sites (so far).
It is something specific to FireFox as I do have the problem with Internet Explorer.
The problem persis even if I restart FireFox without any add-on (safe mode).
Any suggestion ?

Does this only happen in Firefox? What do you see with Internet Explorer or Chrome? If it is only Firefox, I'd try these steps in this order:
1. Clear your cookies and cache
2. Reset your Firefox settings
3. Make a new profile

Hi paulique, the simplest next test would be to disable all plugins and extensions (except Shockwave Flash, which is pretty much indispensable) here, restart Firefox, and see whether your font works without them:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category<br>

Spot colors not showing correctly in acrobat 11

Spot colors not showing correctly in the output preview as well as the page correctly. I have a spot pms
295 on a page in a few different areas of text and backgrounds. The spot color shows on 1 of my backgrounds
and text and a spot color on another background does not. These items are on the same page. Although I
can use the eyedropper to check the color of these items and it states the spot color is present. The page
also prints correctly. Previews not happening.

I included 3 screen shots from Acobat 11 of the test requested. Also, included the last screen shot from Acobat 9 of same file.
Which shows correct preview. To eliminate possible ICC profile issue. I did change profiles to all that were in the profile list
with no change in either test.

Few of the text in Tibetan language subtitle is not showing correctly

Dear frds, I am working on 2 hours project which consist of 3 language i.e. English, Russian and Tibetan. Both English and Russian is showing correct while importing in Encore DVD 2 but few of the text which is in Tibetan Subtitle is not showing correctly. I have choosen the font correctly still few of the text is not correct format.
Is there any way to correct my Tibetan language text either by disabling speeling or grammer check or something else ???
Or is there any other way to import the subtitle is Picture format ???

We had Encore cs3 and that didn't handle Tibetan well.
Did you use Encore Cs6 to get Tibetan to work ?

Account Balance not showing correctly

Sir,
Suppose , i have posted an invoice of Rs.200 against a customer and after some times i recieved payment from this customer of Rs.200 So, accout balance of this customer should be zero.. But when i see the account balance from business partner master data , it should me Rs.-400 in accout balance field but when i navigate through orange arrow in to accoutn balance details , there i get zero in balance due field?? ie. it is showing coorectly in details of account ballance but in the business partner master data it is not showing correctly??

Solution
Under Administration->System Initialisation->Company Details and the 'Basic Initialisation' tab you will find the setting 'Display Credit Balance with Negative Sign'. This setting decides how Customer and Supplier balances will be displayed.
NOTE!
When creating a company it is important to know that this setting is irreversible once transactions have been made in the company.
When this box IS checked the following applies:
Customer balances will be displayed as Positive.
Supplier balances will be displayed as Negative.
When this box IS NOT checked the following applies:
Customer balances will be displayed as Negative.
Supplier balances will be displayed as Positive.
This setting also influences the entry of opening balances for the G/L accounts. Depending on this setting, the opening balances must be entered as positive or negative numbers.
By default this box is checked when a new company is created.
