Diskspace in BW

Hi,
OUR basis team informed me that disk space of BW Dev is full he can't increase further.....he asked asked me to delete data
Can any one please let me know the steps as a BW Consultant i should follow
Thanks

One thing to keep in mind when deleting data is that you don't want to delete PSA data that has not yet been updated to furthur data targets.
So be sure that the data you are deleting is either not updated furthur or has already been updated successfully and will not need to be repeated.
I Hope that helps.  You can also pin point which tables are hogging the most space by checking the 'Space Statistics' in DB02
Thanks,
Nick

  • Upgrade to 10.5 fails - Not enough diskspace in Common Partition - db_hist using most of the space

    Hi All,
Tried upgrading our UCCX 9.0(2) SU1 HA deployment to 10.5(1) last night and it failed with the following message -
There is not enough disk space in the common partition to perform the upgrade. Please use either the Platform Command Line Interface or the Real-Time Monitoring Tool (RTMT) to free space on the common partition.
RTMT reported the Common diskspace used as 94%. Using RTMT we set the LogPartitionHighWaterMarkExceeded to 55% and waited for diskspace to free up. No such luck.
A little more investigation and it turns out there is a database called db_hist_dbs in the Common partition that is 33GB in size. This is the command and returned output we used to find this out -
    show diskusage common
    8.0K    /common/moh
    33G     /common/var-uccx/dbc/db_hist_dbs
    1.6G    /common/var-uccx/dbc/temp_uccx_dbs
    201M    /common/var-uccx/dbc/uccx_er_dbs
    1.6G    /common/var-uccx/dbc/uccx_ersb_dbs
    37G     /common/var-uccx/dbc
    37G     /common/var-uccx
    16M     /common/ontape_backup.gz
    8.0K    /common/cancel_upgrade
Using this command - show uccx dbserver disk - we can see that the db_hist database file is actually 80% free! Output from the command here -
SNO. DATABASE NAME      TOTAL SIZE (MB) USED SIZE (MB) FREE SIZE (MB) PERCENT FREE
     4    db_hist                            34508.6                 6836.9                  27671.7             80%
Anyone have any ideas on how to shrink the file size of the database in question? Is it even possible? Or what are our options to get around this and perform the upgrade.
    Thanks in advance
    Jeff

You may be running into this bug: CSCul18667
    Symptom:
CUIC log purge does not clean up JMX folder. Upgrade may fail due to lack of space.
"show status" command show's that logging is consuming 99% of space
    Workaround:
Can delete by going to RTMT -> Trace & Log Central -> Remote Browse -> Nodes -> "specific node" -> UCCX -> Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Servicability Service -> jmx -> select all -> Delete

  • How to find out how much bytes/ diskspace a tables uses ?

    Hi out there,
How can I need find out how much bytes/diskspace (data & index) a certain tables(BKPF/BSEG)  uses ?
    Thank You
    Best wishes Martin

    Hi Orkun,
do You know who its works for clustered tables ?
For BKPF the amount I get seems to high.
For BSEG the amount I get it seems to low.In fact uts the initial allocated size).
To me it seems that DB02 is based on the native (Oracle) SQL table names.
The (ABAP Dictionnary Tablenames) are not 1:1 equivalent to native (Oracle) SQL table names.
    Thank You !

  • SAP XSS 500 on J2EE 6.40 System Hardware/Diskspace requirements

We are implementing SAP ESS/MSS on EP NW2004s with SAP ERP 2004 (ECC
5.0) as backend system. As per note 1007341 the supported landscape
with ECC 5.0 as backend system is SAP XSS 500 on J2EE 6.40 on seperate
    System.
Could anyone have Hardware/Diskspace requirements for the SAP XSS
    instance on J2EE 6.40 ?

    Hi,
I would suggest you to perform the sizing activity based on your requirements,  whether you would be using the entire self-services package or just selected services out of it. the hardware requirements are based on many factors. Have a look at these documents:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/90ca8edb-ea76-2910-dd8b-e0aef2d2fd77

You may use the sizing tool available on http://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/quicksizer/main.do?sap-language=en&bsp-language=en

  • Simultaneous critical thresholds - diskspace

    Hi All,
I'm trying to setup a logical disk space monitor that will alert for multiple critical thresholds on a single logical drive.
I would like to have for example, 15GB - warning, 10GB error, 5GB error.
Our servicedesk has a dashboard which shows "error" alerts for diskspace, when they see this, they contact on-call support. At times our on-call support can be slow to react, so we want another "error" alert to appear on the servicedesk
dashboard when the threshold reaches 5gb, and that would prompt them to again contact the on-call support.
I do not want the 15gb warning to appear on the servicedesk dashboard.
My question is.... is it possible to have a second "error" threshold for a logical diskspace monitor at 5GB, when the 10GB alert is still open?
If so, can you please provide some detail?
    Regards,

    Hi!
You could achieve that by using the logical disk monitor that is enabled by default (the one that is checking for MB and % thresholds) for the first thresholds and additionally enable the other one for MB (or %) for the second ones:
    Windows Server 20xx Logical Disk
    Logical Disk Free Space
    Windows Server 20xx Logical Disk
    Disk Free Space (MB) Low
    Windows Server 20xx Logical Disk
    Disk Free Space (%) Low
    More information about these monitors:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd262028.asp
Or, of course, create your own monitors.
    Cheers,
    Patrick

  • I can't download iTunes because diskspace

I can't download iTunes because less diskspace. There is on my harddisk over 500 Gb.
After a new system install I have on several programs (Entourage - iTunes) no rights to write on the disk.
    I have a Time-Machine-backup.

The total storage may be 500 GB but how much free space is there?
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.

  • Why are double undo.Z files no hard links to save diskspace?

    Hi,
many undo.Z under /var/sadm/pkg files exist twice:
    <pkg>/save/<patch id>/undo.Z and
    <pkg>/save/pspool/<pkg>/save/<patch id>/undo.Z
Why are these files not hard linked? Is there a technical reason for that?
It would be nice to save some space in /var/sadm/pkg ...
    Thanks.

Good to know why undo.Z can't be hard linked. Thank you!
If diskspace is an issue, you might find this document useful:
    http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-9-14295-1
Sorry, have no service plan, don't ask why, i'm private.
Yes i have diskspace problems, /var slice was configured too small (1GB).
First i tried moving /var/sadm/pkg to a larger slice, made pkg a symlink.
That does not work, SUM means no patches have been installed.
Second try was to move completly /var/sadm to a larger slice.
This seems to work good with SUM.
But today i was wondering about that someone changed the symlink /var/sadm back
to a new directory and put only 'smc/...' into it.
Now i know who it was: i run 'smosservice add' to prepare a diskless client.
sadm/smc/smcreg was modified on the symlinked tree, after that /var/sadm was
switched back to a new directory. This makes /var/sadm completly useless,
    e.g.: 'showrev -p' answers with 'opendir' :-)
Ok, if i changed something i should not think all will work, so i think about a new
installation with much more space for /var.

  • How can i get the free diskspace?

It is about 2G free for every db file of sqlserver 2005,then i reg with theirself tool, but i can't get any free diskspace, please help me,thanks!

    What exactly are you asking?
Do you need the space for SQL to be able to write to it, or do you need it freed up for the OS to use?
SQL will automatically utilize the free space if needed, so there is no manipulation needed there.
You will need your DBA to free up the space to the OS.  If the datafile in SQL Server is 4GB in size, but only 2GB is used, the OS still sees it as a 4GB file by design (so that the space does not get taken by some other process).

  • Diskspace quota with WVC54GCA video recording software

I'm using several WVC54GCA cameras with good results with one exception - I cannot get the diskspace quota feature in the video recording software to work correctly.  I want to limit each camera to 25GB of video on disk, and overwrite older data when the quota is reached.  My problem is that no matter what I specify for a quota, the system only will record 5GB before it starts to overwrite the older video.  If I don't specify the quota feature, the system will record and save data until the disk is filled.  If I enable a quota (25000 MB for example) and there is more than 5GB of video data saved, the excess over 5GB will be deleted.
Has anyone seen this kind of problem?  Is the diskspace quota feature actually working for anyone?
Thanks in advance for helpful replies.

Have you tried un-installing and re-installing the Camera utility ?
Do you have the latest firmware installed on your Camera ?
Recordings can be scheduled and you can set disk quotas and many other parameters -
Disk Allocation for Each Camera Recording :
Total Disk Space is the total amount of storage space on your PC’s hard drive.
Available Disk Space is the total amount of remaining storage space on your PC’s hard drive.
Enable Diskspace Limitation if you want to limit the amount of disk space used by each Camera, check the box, then fill in the fields below.
Maximum allowed space per camera, Enter the maximum allowed space per camera in MB. The default is 1000 MB...I would suggest you to try 15GB and see how it goes with 15GB of Video on disk...See if it is still recording only 5GB of Video...
When allowed space is full Select the action to take when the space limit is reached, either Overwrite earliest file (default), or Stop recording...

  • Cant reimport my iPhoto Library because not enough Diskspace ???

I had to get an older Version of my iPhoto Library 200Gb in size, so i made a backup and restored the old version. Now i want to get back to the original version, but i cannot load the backup ob this file via Time Machine because there is not enough Diskspace, so i am told. And thats where it gets funny. Finder tells me i have 330GB free, the Harddiskutility tells my i have 90Gb free. I had checked the harddisk and it is okay, no error reported. Still Finder says 330GB and the other tells 90GB. *** is going on here.??  OmniDisksweeper reports also 180Gb in use on a 500Gb disk, so where are the 240Gb free space ?

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what are you seeing the exclamation point?  When you double click on a thumbnail?
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

  • Can't download battery update, said not enough diskspace?

    Hi
I have a macbook running tiger osx10.4.11. Everything has been fine until recently when i have been having battery problems. It had been suggested that I download an update to fix this but when i tried to download it (600 odd mb) it told me that my harddrive did not have enough diskspace. My Istat widget however tells me i have 43gb free, Any suggestions to what is going on here.

Hmmm seems strange that a battery update would be 600mb, I'm sure it's only a few hundred kb last time I checked? Also if you need the update it usually shows up on Software Update.

Define virtual PCs. Provide full description of the technology, vendor, and version number. If this is another attempt to use unsupported technology like VMWare then you are going against what Oracle recommends and you are on your own.
Since you do not have a valid clusterware installation as indicated by the cluster verify tool this is a really good time to stop the installation and think through these two questions:
    1. What is your shared storage solution? With Windows you only have a couple of possible choices none of which you have mentioned.
    2. What is your cache fusion interconnect strategy?
If you don't get these right you are wasting your time.
SB ... I have no idea why you think this question is in the wrong forum. Can you explain?

    Cheers
    Andreas

    Not sure.
    Try these, though:
    . Empty Aperture Trash
    . Close Aperture
    . Empty system trash
    . Reboot
    . Try the import again.
What does Finder tell you about the free space on the drive volume in question after you've emptied the system trash?
Are all of your Image's Masters managed?
Are you sure you have Aperture set to import to the drive you want?
