Dismiss "(blah blah) would like to use your current location" permanently?

Is there a way to just allow ALL apps to go ahead and use my location?
Or at the least, apple apps? I dread the idea that every time I start up the camera I have to "allow" it to use my location. I don't care, go ahead, use it, just stop asking!

It's not the OS that decides when to stop it's the app...I know some iPhone Developers and they write apps that pop up this question but design it to remember that setting after a few times of asking regardless of location being on or off...some apps however, only pop up that question when location is off and after you turn it on and tap yes a few times it "should" go away...
Like when I first upgraded to 3Gs the camera app would pop up asking if I want to use location even with location on...after I think 2 or 3 times of hitting yes, now it no longer asks me that...
If you accidentally hit no may that resets the future pop ups ...that I'm not sure...
Since location is a general term and there are some apps that you'd want iPhone to use it for and others you wouldn't...even with location on you will get the question for a few times the first instances you open those apps

  • Reminders.app would like to use your current location.

When I set a location-based Reminder on my iPhone 5S, a window pops up on my Mavericks-iMac asking permission, "'Reminders.app' would like to use your current location," along with radio buttons offering OK or Don't Allow.  I have scoured settings on my phone and on my Mavericks iMac--I should not be getting this message.
    Your thoughts appreciated.

I'd suggest everyone else uses that page too. Apple probably don't read these posts so if you have something to say direct it at the iOS or OS X feedback forms.

  • ...would like to use your current location

Every application I've installed that features location services prompts me to use my current location. Despite the claims that these messages are supposed to disappear after pressing "Okay" twice, each program continues to ask.
It seems like an unnecessary and excessive precaution. Why isn't the message going away?

I heard, but haven't tested for sure, that after you click "OK" for a particular application TWICE, then it assumes you don't want to be asked again, and always allows. Seemed to work with Maps, but haven't verified for other apps yet.

  • "X would like to use your current location, accept or deny"

Are you guys licensing UAC Tech off MS now? You guys made fun of that in their ad's but now on my iPhone I'm being asked this every time I use a location aware app or the camera.
Disabling location awareness isn't what I want to do, I actually use it for Maps etc - why can't we just default to accepting somehow?

I don't believe it remembers that at all - like I said, if you have your LOCATION SERVICES turned off - and go to use an app that requires it - it's gonna ask you if you wanna turn this feature on.
If the LOCATION SERVICES is already turned on in your settings - it won't ask you if you want to allow this as it is already turned on - go ahead and test it out yourself.
Turn off location services - and then go to Maps and locatre yourself - you'll see the message.
Now lock the phone, unlock and go back to maps and find your location again - does it ask you if you wanna turn it on - no it doesn't, because it's already on

  • Camera would like to use your current location

After 2.0 I am getting the above message every time I use my camera. What does this mean?

A big usage nowadays is location aware applications, such a flickr, you can find images that were taken close to where you are.
If you use an app like exposure for example, it will see where you're located, and find images near you, by getting the geotag information from the image.

  • "GadgetTrak" would like to use your current location... How do I get ride of GadgetTrak?

I'm running Yosemite 10.10 on a 2011 MacBook Pro. I upgraded to Yosemite with no problem then cleaned out my extensions including, in error, GadgetTrak's preferences pane. Now I get the above request three or four times each session. Any ideas how to get rid of it. Oddly,I'm no longer subscribing to GadgetTrak.

Well, I have all locations services disabled and have only occasionally gotten a prompt from an app which disappeared permanently after I unchecked it. You must be running an app that requires it, such as a phone or other idevice app or some setting in Facebook (I don't use Facebook, so I can't help with that). I'd check with Facebook support (if there is such a thing).

  • " 'App' would like to use your current location"

I can push 'Don't Allow' or 'OK' as many times as I like, but the notification won't clear and NOTHING else works! I can't even power down the iPad.

Have you tried a reset to see if it then works after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Application Would Like To Use Your Current Location...

I keep getting that message when I launch any applications and its getting really annoying. I want to turn it off and say yes to everything, plus... when I sync my iphone to my laptop, I get a message saying "Backup Has Been Interrupted, Continue Sync?" I keep wanting to say cancel.

I heard, but haven't tested for sure, that after you click "OK" for a particular application TWICE, then it assumes you don't want to be asked again, and always allows. Seemed to work with Maps, but haven't verified for other apps yet.

  • My ipod 5th gen says it is connected to the internet and i can go on apps that require an internet connection but whe i try to use the weather or another app that uses your current location it cant find me???

My ipod 5th gen says it is connected to the internet and i can go on apps that require an internet connection but whe i try to use the weather or another app that uses your current location it cant find me???

If you open the Maps app where does that say you are located?
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds

  • How to reset "Use your current location" setting?

Today, I downloaded an app that when I first ran it it asked me if it "could use my current location". I mistakenly touched the "Don't Allow" selection. I really wanted the app to use my current location.
Now it is not asking me to use my current location, instead it simply states "Your location could not be determined".
I went into settings hoping that I would find the app listed there and that I could change a setting to force it to use my current location, but discovered that the app is not listed in the settings apps grouping.
I deleted the app and then went to the app store and reinstalled it, all to no avail.
Anyone got an idea about how this "use my current location" can be restored?

An easier route is to go to Settings -> General -> Location Services
It will list all the apps that can use location services and you can turn them on or off.

You will have to check with Mathworks and see if they have a driver for that board that works with their software.

You should only need a SIM in it to actually activate it in iTunes.  Once activated, leave the SIM in or remove it, it should not matter.
Then, turn on airplane mode.  And then, go into wifi settings and re-enable wifi (this leaves the cellular radio in airplane mode = powered off).
Now your iPhone is effectively no more than a (wifi only) iPod Touch.

Under Start-up at the top of GENERAL, you have an option to type in the url or use the tabs to set your homepage to the current page.
Go to your chosen site, open OPTIONS and click 'Use current page.'
Sorry for the shorthand version previously. I blame the cat.

  • TS3510 I have 3 different apple devices using the same Apple ID and would like to use FaceTime to call from one device to the other.  Do I need a different Apple ID for one of the devices in order to do that?

I have 3 different apple devices (iPod Touch, iPad and MacBook Pro) using the same Apple ID and would like to use FaceTime to call from one device to the other.  Do I need a different Apple ID for one of the devices in order to do that?

I found this on a related question in the Community:
Yes you can do it. I do it with 4 different devices all using the same Apple ID.
You need to associate different email addresses for each device in order to use those email addresses as the "contact at" email address. The reason the calls are dropping on you now is that what you are trying to do is like calling yourself on your own phone.
You can also create new iCloud accounts on each device simply to use for FaceTime, but I'm guessing that the users of the other two devices have their own email addresses which will make this work for you quite easily.
Take a look at this for more information.
The seems to go against what Gail said and the issue you raised about buying dup apps was my first concern.  If this other post is correct, how to I set a different "contact at" in the iPod Touch?
