Dismiss keyboard when naming a new Journal

I can't dismiss the keyboard when typing in the name of a new Journal. If I type nothing and just push the "Create Journal" button, it gets published as "My New Journal" and then the next one is "My New Journal 1" and "My New Journal 2". I'd really rather type the name of the Journal so it has a better description. If I scroll the window up behind the keyboard on the iPhone's screen the "Create Journal" button is not visible. Has anyone been able to manually name their new Journal?

Answered my own question after messing around some more, I had to hit the "Return" button on the keyboard to dismiss it.

Lightroom 2.1 Crashes When Naming A new Catalog

If I attempt to begin a new catalog, the default folder area pops up and I place a name for the new catalog in the provided box. Once I hit the enter key, LR 2.1 closes completely.
If I double click the icon to bring LR back up, nothing happens. If I bring up the windows task manager, lightroom.exe is now listed twice in the process section.
Select them both, hit end process, and re-click the icon, it starts with the catalog name I had just entered.
Any suggestions?

Now I have noticed other programs, if shut down (such as spysweeper or registry mechanic) will not restart unless they are stopped as a process.
It is frustrating to deal with vista the last 2 years. Should have stayed with XP Professional.
As for firewalls, no change if I switch to the Windows version or not.
I know now to start the task manager and leave it in the tray while I work on the web site.

Is it possible to make the attachment icon on my journals form a compulsary step when creating a new manual journal entry?

Our company uses EBS 11.5.10.2. The company has a policy whereby any new manual journal needs to have the supporting documentation attached to it, using the attachment icon in the task bar.
Users sometimes forget to do this, though. This has now prompted management to request that we try and make this process of attaching a document when creating a new manual journal compulsary to the process.
Is this possible on the current version we are running on?

Well, that depends on if you are using client/server or web. Currently there is a bug being investigated, which is preventing the cursor size from being altered. For client/server, do the following on the client machine (assuming Windows):
Control Panel > Accessibility Options > Display > Cursor Width
By increasing the width, the cursor will be more visible. The same is expected to work on the web, but currently is problematic and being investigated.

How do i connect my keyboard when it is turned on and the batteries are new, the bluetooth does not recognize it?

I had a connection between my macbook pro and my wireless keyboard, when the keyboard stopped working. I replaced the batteries, and it will no longer allow me to connect the keyboard. In fact, my macbook no longer recognizes it at all when I try to reconnect via bluetooth.

Yes, I've had a similar problem:
My keyboard was connecting just fine except for recently when my son would switch to his user and then I would switch back after he finished his homework in another room in the house.
Now I've restarted and there is no longer a Bluetooth option to click in System Preferences, and as I dig deeper into the Network option, I can click the Bluetooth PAN, but if I try to "add" a BT device or select "Advanced" the button is grayed-out and the message says BT is not available.
The keyboard power cycles fine and is available to my iMac for pairing.
My top of the screen menu bar shows the BT symbol, but tells me it's not available. Whaaaat???
Utilities' System Info tells me there is "no information available" when I click the BT devices under hardware.
Somehow it appears I've either lost the BT drivers or the module has failed.
Any suggestions??

Yes, you can do something like that. What you would do is create a button for each image and then hide them. When I do this type of thing I place all of the buttons on a template page and then hide the template.
You can then use JavaScript to copy the icon from any of the hidden buttons to the main button that you've set up to display the image. For example, suppose you set up 10 buttons named b1, b2, b3, ...b10. The code to copy the icon from one of them to the button used to display the image (b0) would be something like this:

So, I named my new ipod nano 7 and have the serial number on my itunes account. I still am not able to get any podcasts downloaded to it.

Before you sync, go to "podcast" in ipod upper menu. Make sure the "sync podcast"is ticked. If not, do accordingly and then sync again. Cheers!

Should I use a keyboard cover with the new retina screen?

Someone in an apple store told me I shouldn't use a silicone keyboard cover on the new 13" macbook pro w/ retina because apparently theres not enough space for it when the laptop is closed and its been causing faults? Anyone know anything about this?

It also blocks the air intake.
I use the original thin foam packaging that comes between the screen and KB from the factory to reduce debris gettting in and the monitor getting impressions.
Since it's light and thin, lets air get in under it and into the machine throught the keyboard, deflects spills it's been great for the last few years.
I use a external keyboard and scroll wheel mouse to take the wear and tear, I hate trackpads anyway.

opposite values and then I insert it (with oJournalEntries Object). But in table 'OJDT' the field 'StornoToTr' in new journal entry, must be changed with transID of cancelled Journal Entry.
How can I do that with 'oJournalEntries' Object?

Here is a nice piece of code that set the journal entries for reversal on a certain date. So when a user logs into B1 on that date they will be shown a list of journal entries that are scheduled to be reversed. The user click execute and the journal entries are revered and the functionality you are looking for will be implemented.

New Journal: an error ocurred

Hi,
I have done the "set up Journals" wizard in the admin console for an application and I get the message that it has successfully finished.
However when I go into Excel and click on Journals and then "Enter a new Journal" I get the following Error message:
"New Journal: an error occurred". Also when I click on Opening an existing Journal I get another error message:
"Run time error 91 object variable or with block variable not set".
I have done a modify application but I still get the same result. Does anybody have an idea or experienced the same problem?

Is this server setup on a single machine, or two?
I had a similar problem recently creating a journal template, on a 2-server setup, that was somehow related to the Reporting Services installation on the app server not correctly communicating with the DB server, during the creation of the journal template.
I ended up working around the problem by backing up the appset, restoring it to my own virtual machine (a single-server setup), creating the journal template file there, and copying that Excel template over to the correct path in the webfolders directory on the 2-server setup.
I never figured out the root cause, or resolved it -- but it was somehow related to Reporting Services.

Macbook pro tries to connect bluetooth keyboard when waking up from sleep

I have a 2012 Macbook pro and it is trying to connect to a bluetooth keyboard when I wake it up from sleep. The computer freezes while it is searching for the keyboard and only works properly once it discovers there is no keyboard connected. I have never used a bluetooth keyboard and I currently have my bluetooth switched off.
Doe anyone have any idea how I might stop this from happening? It can often freeze for quite a while, which can be very frustrating.

The endless scrolling technique is far too tedious when trying to add a new bookmark, because the window is simply too tiny. Is there maybe a plug-in that will let me grab the corner of that window and re-size it? Thanks!

I suggest you install the "Add Bookmark to Here2" extension, then you can expand the the list but you will not see the bookmark itself in the list if that is what you wanted. At the top you have three major folders you can select one of them and scroll up and down. Below that you have your most recently used folders and you can select one of them instead and scroll up and down. You can see the folder the bookmark is in -- they get added to the bottom
If you really want to see the bookmark within the folder the same extension allows you to bring the bookmark to the folder from say the bookmarks sidebar that is why it is named as such. I use it but mainly i use the dialog.

If you are not using tags at all, you can remove a whole lot of confusion by removing them from the dialog via the extension.

What year, screen size, CPU speed and amount of RAM installed?
To find out info about your system,
Click on the Apple symbol in the upper left of the OS X main menu bar. A drop down menu appears.
Click About this Mac. A smaller popup window appears. This gives you basic info like what version of OS X your iMac is running, the speed of your iMac's CPU and how much RAM is installed.
Click on the button that says More Info. A larger window appears giving you a complete overview of your iMac's hardware specs.
Highlight all of this info and copy/paste all of this into another reply to this post, editing out your iMac's serial number before actually posting the reply.
This will tell us everything about your iMac so we may begin to help with your iMac issues.
How full is your Mac's hard drive?
Locate your iMac's hard drive icon on the OS X desktop. Click the icon once, then use the keyboard key combination Command-I. This will give you additonal info about your iMac's internal hard drive.

Here are some general tips to keep your Mac's hard drive trim and slim as possible
You should never, EVER let a conputer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your Mac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your other Mailboxes and other Mail categories to see If there is other mail you can archive and/or delete.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
To find other large files, download an app called Omni Disk Sweeper.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
