Dismount Database in DAG Exchange 2010

got 2 nodes DAG.  A/P - 2010 Sp3
Dimounted a DB on Node2 which holds all the active copies.
I see now it shows DB dismounted on Node2 and shows healthy on node1.
I beleive this a norm????

Hi,
Yes, this is expected behavior. I tested in my lab, it's the same result.
Besides, here is a similar thread for your reference.

  • EMC Does Not Show All Databases Copies Information on DAG - Exchange 2010 SP2

    Hi guys,
    Really need your help here, suddenly my customer complain that they cant see any information on database copies on their Active Copy DAG Exchange server, for another DAG members, the database copies information is visible. After do some readings, I found
    this related to Exchange 2010 SP1 known issue.
    http://workinghardinit.wordpress.com/2010/09/13/emc-does-not-show-all-database-copies-after-upgrade-to-exchange-2010-sp1-still-investigating/
    But, for my environment, there is Exchange 2010 SP2. I have no idea on this issue since there is no error log thrown out from the event viewer. I already try to restart the server itself and the Microsoft Information services but no luck.

    Hi,
    Based on the description, your customers could see passive database copy information, but they couldn’t view the detail information such as state: Healthy in EMC.
    When did this issue begin?
    Please restart the AD topology service to check result.
    Since we have the information correctly on Exchange shell, please try to clear EMC cache and then open console to check if you can see database copy in EMC.

  • CLUSTER(DAG) EXCHANGE 2010 - Updates

    Hello
    I want apply Updates in Exchange 2010 with Cluster
    What is the procedure?? ( step by step please )
    Thanks and regards
    MCITP

    If its Exchange 2010 with SP1 and above, you only need to run the maintenance script.
    The script will automatically do the following tasks for you:
    Calls Suspend-MailboxDatabaseCopy on the database copies.
    Pauses the node in Failover Clustering so that it can not become the
    Primary Active Manager.
    Suspends database activation on each mailbox database.
    Sets the DatabaseCopyAutoActivationPolicy to Blocked on the server.
    Moves databases and cluster group off of the designated server.
    Exchange services will be stopped automatically if necessary, but it is recommended to stop AV services.
    Please flow the steps provided above.

  • Restore Exchange 2007 database backup on Exchange 2010 server

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to restore mailbox from 2 years old when backup taken from Exchange 2007 server. Now we are on Exchange 2010 server where backup happens. So out of 2 years 1 year backup happen from Exchange 2007 & later happen from Exchange 2010
    server using Netbackup.
    We have 2 Exchange 2010 mailbox server & 1 Exchange 2007 mailbox server. Mailbox to be restore currently exists on Exchange 2010 mailbox server & functional.
    can someone guide me with exact steps or best practice for restoring mailbox. confused by reading over multiple posts.

    Hi ,
    You cannot export data to a .pst file from a mailbox that is in a recovery storage group (RSG).
    Mailboxes that are in a database that has been mounted in an RSG cannot be connected to Active Directory directory service accounts. These mailboxes have to be merged into existing mailboxes, or copied to a folder in an existing mailbox.

  • Добавить Exchange 2013 в DAG Exchange 2010

    Возможно ли добавить сервер Exchange 2013 CU3  в существующую группу обеспечения доступности серверов Exchange 2010?

    Hi,
    I translated it using translator, and the result is here. "Is it possible to add the Exchange Server if you are in an existing group 2013 server availability for Exchange 2010?"
    Do you mean you want to add an Exchange 2010 Server as a member of Exchange 2013 DAG? If so, we should note each DAG member should be running the same operating system and the same Exchange version. For more details about this, you can refer to the "Software
    requirements" section in
    this article.
    If I misunderstood your concern, please free let me know. In order to resolve the problem more efficiently, I recommend you describe the problem in English.

  • Mailbox Databases - 1500 users Exchange 2010 DAG

    I have the following setup for a 5 server DAG setup and would like to know the recommended setup for high availability for all user databases. I would like the databases copied to several DAG members servers, but am unsure as to how i should stagger the
    database replication. Please see the drive sizes below and send me feedback/recommendations.
    Each of my DAG member servers (mailbox servers) has the following storage space available:
    C:\60GB(O/S), D:\1TB(Mailboxes), E:\1TB(Mailboxes) F:\(logs)
    How many databases should i create to maximize efficiency and give best user performance/experience?
    To how many DAG member servers should i copy the database in order to achieve a reasonable amount of High Availability?
    Again, I have 1500 users and 2TB per server to accommodate mailbox databases.
    Users average 500MB mailbox quotas.
    Can i create the DAG replicas on the second drive (E:\) or should i just use both terabyte volumes exclusively for users mailboxes?

    Hi,
    5 members in a DAG and one database created for every member, I suggest you create three copys for a database like the following figure. Any two servers corruption couldn't interrupt any client connection.

  • Rename existing Exchange 2010 database in DAG

    Hello,
    I want to rename one existing database on our exchange 2010 server. This database is in DAG and hosting around 1000 users. So not possible to create a new mailbox database and move.
    How can I rename the database?
    After renaming it, what will happen to the Copy database on another server as it is in DAG.
    Thanks,
    Mihir

    Appreciate your response, Andy.
    To clear my doubt,
    If I am ok to reseed the passive copy, then I can follow below steps, Correct?
    --> Remove Passive copy
    --> Remove Database files and Log files on this passive server manually
    And
    "1. Then will a New database with this new name be created?"
    --> On Move database, I will mention same location, but just
    rename .edb file. So a exact copy of new database with this new name will be created. Correct?
    --> And then I can delete the old named .edb, Correct?
    Thanks.

  • What is the Exchange 2010 maximum mailbox database size that is support by MS in a single DAG environment?

  • Exchange 2010: Remove high available mailbox database error

    Hello everyone,
    I have a two node DAG exchange 2010 and recently split one mailbox database into two databases.
    Now when removing the original database I get the following error:
    Please provide specific details.
    The following was done thus far:
    Deleted all softdeleted items
    this is not the default mailbox database
    Suspended the second mail server and removed it from mailbox, leaving now just one mail server attached to the mailbox database.
    Help

    Try to check mailbox import request is there or no by this command. Get-MailboxImportRequest. If you can see any requests listed. Remove it by this command Get-MailboxImportRequest | Remove-MailboxImportRequest.

  • Exchange 2010 dag with only 2 servers

    I have my exchange 2010 running on win server 2012 R2 and I have installed another exchange 2010 server with the same FQDN and I want to configure DAG with only these 2 servers. Can I implement DAG with only 2 servers?Can the mailbox,client access and hub
    transport roles still work with only 2 servers? If Mailbox and Hub transport could work it will be fine for me as CAS switchover can always be done manually.My main concern is securing data. Any article on how to implement that would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Yes, we can create a DAG with 2Servers and Each server can have upto 100 database depends upon Standard or Enterprise.

  • How to get Exchange 2010 database size c#

    I'm trying to get smallest Exchange database in my Exchange 2010 server using remote session.
    I successfully connect to my exchange server and get database with properties. Some of them with value, but Properties "DatabaseSize" with Null value for each of them.
    Did some body be able to get database size value?
    For me important to use URI to connect Exchange DAG.
    Part of my code below:
    static void Main(string[] args)
    string exchangePowershellRPSURI = "http://my.domain/powershell?serializationLevel=Full";
    PSCredential credentials = (PSCredential)null;
    //Provides the connection information that is needed to connect to a remote runspace
    // Prepare the connection
    WSManConnectionInfo connInfo = new WSManConnectionInfo((new Uri(exchangePowershellRPSURI)),
    "http://schemas.microsoft.com/powershell/Microsoft.Exchange", credentials);
    connInfo.AuthenticationMechanism = AuthenticationMechanism.Kerberos;
    connInfo.SkipCACheck = true;
    connInfo.SkipCNCheck = true;
    connInfo.SkipRevocationCheck = true;
    // Create the runspace where the command will be executed
    Runspace runspace = RunspaceFactory.CreateRunspace(connInfo);
    // Add the command to the runspace's pipeline
    runspace.Open();
    //Represents the base functionality of a pipeline that can be used to invoke commands
    Pipeline pipeline = runspace.CreatePipeline();
    Command getMDB = new Command("Get-MailboxDatabase");
    getMDB.Parameters.Add("Identity", "*");
    getMDB.Parameters.Add("Status", null);
    pipeline.Commands.Add(getMDB);
    Collection<PSObject> select = pipeline.Invoke();
    if (select.Count > 0)
    foreach(PSObject obj in select)
    var db = obj.Properties["DatabaseSize"].Value;
    string name = obj.Properties["Name"].Value.ToString();
    Console.WriteLine("Database Name: {0} Size: {1}", name, db);
    else
    Console.WriteLine("Failed to create email account");
    runspace.Dispose();
    Console.ReadLine();

    I found solution of my problem by myself. I just changed in string
    getMDB.Parameters.Add("Status", null);
    "null" to "true" like this:
    getMDB.Parameters.Add("Status", true);
    Now everything work fine for me.

  • Legacy integration between Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010

    Dear Team,
    we are using Microsoft Exchange 2003 & 2010 Server for Emails, now we have both servers are connected, we want to raise new Single incident request for doing this activity, we want disconnect 2003 server from 2010 server so accordingly need support,
    we are ready to pay for this incident,
    pls do the needful,
    Thanks & regards
    Anteshwar Bhosale

    Hi Anteshwar,
    If you want to remove Exchange 2003 from your coexistence environment, please perform the following procedure:
    1. Move all mailboxes to an Exchange 2010 server in the organization.
    2. Move all content from the public folder database on the legacy Exchange 2003 server to a public folder database on an Exchange 2010 server in the organization.
    3. On Exchange 2003 servers, for each offline address book (OAB), move the generation process to an Exchange 2010 server.
    4. Verify that Internet mail flow is configured to route through your Exchange 2010 transport servers.
    5. Verify that all inbound protocol services (Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Microsoft Office Outlook Web App, Outlook Anywhere, POP3, IMAP4, Autodiscover service, and any other Exchange Web service) are configured for Exchange 2010.
    If all above steps have been prepared, we can remove the last Exchange 2003 server from the Exchange 2010 organization from ADSIEdit. For detailed steps about this, please refer to:

  • Exchange 2010 - Decommissioning Exchange 2007 Coexistence and Removal of Public Folders

    We are about to decommission exchange 2007, currently in coexistence with Exchange 2010.
    We do not want to use ANY public folders in exchange 2010 going forward. Will do this after decom of 2007:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876883(v=exchg.141).aspx
    I see this in the outlook connection status in outlook:
    I have changed all Exchange 2010 mailbox databases to use a temporary 2010 public folders db named "public1" so that it is not communicating with the 2007 mailbox virtual server. However, the exact same connection status appears after I changed
    the 2010 mailbox DBs to use a 2010 public folder db instead of the old 2007.
    Question is, is it safe to decom the 2007 environment now? Is it normal to still have a connection to 2007  in "connection status" in outlook when the users mailbox is on a 2010 mailbox db? Is this connection related to public folders or something
    else that needs modified before decom?
    Thanks,
    Josh

    So, that wasn't the answer. I switched the Public folder DB on each mailbox database to a exchange 2010 server, PF DB, but hadn't actually moved any data from 2007 to 2010.
    I didnt realize this is needed when we don't use public folders except for free-busy, default, etc.
    What is the correct way to move the default public folders to a 2010 public folder?
    I'm using the below URL as a template to migrate this info to a 2010 PF db.
    https://www.simple-talk.com/sysadmin/exchange/upgrade-from-exchange-2007-to-exchange-2010---part-ii/
    "The user Public Folders then need to be replicated to the Exchange 2010 Public Folder database as well. It is possible to manually configure
    all Public Folders with a new replication partner, but it’s better to use PowerShell scripts that Microsoft delivers with Exchange Server 2010. Open the Exchange Management Shell and navigate to the Scripts directory
    by entering the CD $ExScripts command,
    and execute the following script:
    AddReplicaToPFRecursive.ps1 -Server 2007MBX -TopPublicFolder "\"
    -ServerToAdd 2010MBX"
    My question is, do I have to do this "3rd step" since I don't think i have any custom "user public folders". Is this the user's free busy that I have to migrate, or is this author referring to custom PF db info?
    Do I have to have public folders for free-busy and default exchange services at all in 2010?

  • Same CAS Array Exchange 2010 (HLB), with OS Windows 2008R2 and Windows 2012.

    Hello,
    We have a 10 node DAG (Exchange 2010 SP3, Windows 2008 R2), with 2 CasArray.
    We are planning to add news (multirole) servers and create a new DAG (Exchange 2010 SP3, Windows 2012) in this infra, in the same AD site, to migrate all mailbox from the other DAG (Migration from virtual servers to physical servers).
    So we use the same CasArray (HLB, with F5) with différent OS version, during the migration time (1 month or more). I haven't found anything that say it's not supported or can be problematic.
    Have you feedback or advice?
    Thanks,
    Sébastien

    Hi,
    Based on my knowledge, there is no need to deploy a CAS array with CAS servers running on the same Window version. The version can be different.
    After a Client Access server array is defined within an Active Directory site, all Client Access servers within that Active Directory site are automatically part of the Client Access server array.
