Disp+work is NOT needed by EP7 (JAVA-only NW04s) ?

I have found out that even you remove disp+work completely, EP7 still operates normally.
Please explain why it is like that?

what do you mean by disp+work?
The dispatcher? -- I cannot believe that. And work? the work directory? Try to restart and you will see that it does not work anymore.

Since you just bought a new PC, it most probably doesn't have Java installed on it.

Disp+work.exe is not working in ecc6.0 with sql database

in mmc disp+work.exe not started ,problem is message server is connected dialog is standstill 0.00, jccontrol is not connected.plz send reply as early as possible to my mail

I guess you should first check your sapstart.log, to see which profile is being called. check sapstartsrv.exe if version is consistent with disp+work.exe, and sap services is maintained startup properly (Control Panel -. Administrative Tools -> Services)
then check if the profile is ok.
then check dev_disp dispatcher log for error, in case disp+work.exe has been triggered to startup...

in my windows XI Server im facing a problem ,the disp+work is not starting (stopped),remaining all services are started .while i tried to execute r3trans -d its giving the following error:

You are getting the above error while R3trans -d because the required environment variables are not set properly. Are you using user <sid>adm to execute the command?
ERROR => SncInit(): Missing profile paramter "snc/identity/as" N [sncxxpar0614]
you have enabled SNC but not all profile parameters are properly set. This will prevent system to start.
you have to set this properly.
Provider SQLNCLI could not be initialized
SQLNCLI need to be installed for MSSSQL 2005. But this is just a warning

after a configuration change (parameter ztta/roll_extension) of the instance profile above the profile-manager (rz10) the disp+work are not getting started.
Can anybody help!

Did you perform a profile check using sappfpar after adjusting the parameter ?
as <sid>adm
sappfpar pf=<SAP system profile> check
It's possible your memory pool(s) need enlargement after you change memory parameter settings.
The sappfpar check will give error(s) and it will advise neccesary sizing for your pools so the memory setting can be used.

but under process list i only see msg_server.EXE, which is running (green). i do not see an entry for disp+work.EXE, not even in yellow or grey. this means there are no dispatcher and work processes. how can that be? how can i fix the problem?

I have updated my iTunes to the newest version, 10-25 on a windows XP system. Now my java virtual machine is not working and I need it to run applet window. My Java is also newest version. What can I do to fix/repair my issue?

If your library was working on your computer and then popped up empty all of a sudden then this might be what you need...
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

The work process are dying

if the dispatcher cannot start the work process it force the shutdown.So, you need to check
at the work process trace (dev_w*) files to find out the reason the they are dying.

this is a normal situation if the reverse name resolution is not working.
I have found this error when the DNS server has without the reverse zone configured.
However this is not a problem to the dispatcher operation.

After patching XI system to SP14, disp+work not running

Hi All,
We have finished XI installation, then we also patching it from SP9->SP14 NW04s SR2. it works ok in SP9, but when we completed patching.
then when we start XI, it runs for 3-4mins, then disp+work in MMC stops.

"disp+work" process in not getting started after kernel upgradation

Hello Experts,
Good day…..,
I am new to SAP. I installed SAP ECC6 EHP4 with default kernel version 701 and it was working fine.
I have upgraded kernel version from 701 to 741, but the “disp+work” process is not getting started after kernel upgrade.
I have posted “dev_W0” log &

SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial - service Disp+Work.Exe does not start

Hi All,
I have installed SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version on Windows Xp sp2.
But when I start sap management console, Disp+Work.Exe shows stopped and i am not able to connect through SAP login.
Any ideas?

The hostname should have 13 caracters at maximum, you will need to remove your installation (use the process below), change the hostname and install it again. It happened with me and after done this process it worked fine.
How to uninstall :
- Drop database: In order to do that go to the Control Panel click on 'Add and Remove Programs' and look for 'MaxDB'. Click on 'Change/Remove' which starts the Installation Manager of the MaxDB. Click on 'Remove MaxDB Components', select 'All Components' and enter the database manager user 'control' and your <password>. Quitt the dialog popup with 'yes'.
- Stop SAPNSP_00 service Go to the Control Panel, click on 'Administrative Tools' and stop the SAPNSP_00 service.
- Remove in your file system the directories of 'SAP' and 'sapdb'. Go to 'Program Files/Common Files' and remove the directory 'Installshield'.
- Run the [clean up |http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/softwaredownload?download=/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/business_packages/a1-8-4/nw/regcleantools.rar] tool for the registry, press the radio button for 'Uninstall Service', enter 'NSP' for SID and '00' for the number.
- Connect your PC to the network or install the loopback adapter.
- Reboot your PC.

Disp+work is NOT needed by EP7 (JAVA-only NW04s) ?
