DIsplalying BI reports with Folder structure in SAP EP7.0

HI Dear Friends,
I have  a requirement in my current project where i am integrating the BI reports with SAP EP.Iviews are associated with BI Reports. In the portal on clicking workset it should display folders in the portal content area with Icons instead of in Detail navigation .On click of the displayed folders it should display its sub content with Icons.
I tried in all ways with detail navigation but later i came to know there there is a SAP BI business package which would come up with predifined iviews associated for BI Reports.By importing this business package we can dispaly the  BI content in the portal in a folder format .
i am using BI and EP 7.0 versions.

    Ratnakar,
Let me understand your requirements, correct me if I understood it wrong. You need to display BI reports in Folder structure that is similar when you log on through BEx analyzer or WAD. If this is correct, then you need to upload the BI Role which contain all the required Folder structures and it BI Queries or BI Queries url assigned to that role.Once you upload this role on to portal , you will see folder structure on PCA.
    Example
    BI Reports  - Folder 1
      I--> FI reports  -- Subfolder 1
      I            I--> AP reports 1
      I--> CO reports  -- Subfolder 2
                   I--> Cost Report 1
    Hope it helps,
    Cheers,
    Balaji

  • How to check In a file with folder structure

    Hi,
Is it possible to check in "a file with its complete folder structure".
For Ex: folder A contains Folder B and B contains a file , Then is there an option to check in the file in content server with the same structure A-->B-->file.
    Thanks In advance.

JRS, this will copy ALL the files and folders from folder A to the content server.
If he only wants to copy file A that is inside folder B than your way is somewhat overkill unless you are sure that the file is the only one in the complete structure but that i doubt...
I haven't checked it before but perhaps someone can tell if this is possible...
If you check in a file, perhpas you can get the original file and foldername from the metadata. If this is possible, you can create your own code that hooks on the check in and then create a directory or just move the file in the directory.
I have written such a component but it's based on some custom metadata we use, not on the original filename.
If i find the time, i will try some things and tell you if it works

  • Aggregation issue for report with bw structure

    Hi,
I am facing aggregation issue while grouping reports in webi.
We have a BW query with 16 values, which we bring to bw as structure. Out of 16, 8 are percentage values (agg. type should be average).
If we bring the data at site level, data is comming properly. But if we use same query and try sum/grouping( on region level), then percentage is getting added.
Since it's a dashboard report with lots of filters, we cannot go for seperate query at each level(site, region, zone).
How we can resolve this.. please give me suggestion.
    Regards
    Baby

    Hi,
Since we were using structure, it was not possible to produce the required result in BO.
We change structure to keyfigures and bring all of them in to BO. All the column formulas are now in BO side.
    Now it is working fine.

  • Converting an entire folder structure with images to jpeg, intact with folder structure.

    Hi!
I have a rather large folder structure consisting of images dating all the way back to when I got my first digital camera in '98.
The images are captured with a variety of cameras over the years and also includes image types processed with software. It's an almost 1,5 terabytes holy mixture of CR2, ARW, JPEG, PSD, PSB, TIFF, HDR and probably more that i forgot. However all of the formats can be read by photoshop/bridge. The file structure is /YYYYMMDD/file.ext. Converting the files folder by folder using the standard Image processor feature in bridge/photoshop is not really an option, considering the size of the structure.
What I am trying to do is to convert the entire structure to .jpeg, both for backup purposes and also for being able to view all the images on devices other than my computer. It's important that the raw files are converted with their respecive .xmp adjustments applied.
Is there any possible way to achieve this? I don't have lightroom, but if it can do this I will purchase it. Maybe some other image managment applications, like ACDSee, can do this?
If someone know of any applications or (photoshop) scripts that can do this, or have any tips for me it is *HIGHLY* appreciated!

    Paul Riggott: T-H-A-N-K-S!
The Russell Brown script is exactly what I needed, couldnt ask for anything better. I tried it out for a test run on a folder with 10 subfolders containing various file types and it recreated the folder structure complete with jpegs on another disk. The script have lots of useful options for converting, naming, color space conversion and much more.
The one small thing to take note of, if others are reading this, is that you have to open the script in Photoshop in order to to process entire folder structures (including subfolders). If you launch the script from Bridge, it will only let you process single files and not folders.
Again, you really made my day with this tip. Thanks

  • Importing images with folder structure

    Hi
I want to import images into Lightroom that are on my hard disk but keeping the existing folder structure.  When I try this, even if I tick include sub folders, the images import but all within the parent folder - all sub folders are ignored.
Is there a way around this?
    Many thanks

Are you selecting "Add" at the top of the import dialog when importing?  That preserves folder structure by adding them to the Lightroom catalog in-place.

  • Export with folder structure

When a folder in the library contains subfolders, and LR is set to show files in subfolders, when the parent folder is selected, and all pictures are exported, they all end directly in the export folder. It would be great to have an option to recreate the folder structure, to maintain the original classification without having to export each subfolder separately.

I would like to see the tree structure be available for every export type, maybe as a "filter" stage: i.e. publisher + exports.
In the mean time, there are plugins:
    TreeSync3(export)
    TreePublisher

  • Problems with folder structure

I have a mess in Lightroom 3 as far as folders (and on my hard drive).  I want to reorganize everything into a single main folder, subdivided by date, and rely on keywords and collections for sorting.  I know everyone does it different but I am wanting to go the Scott Kelby route, "You can have as many sub-folders inside that one main folder as you want, but if you want to have peace, calm, and order in your Lightroom, the key is not to import photos from all over your computer. Choose one main folder and put all your photos inside that folder. THEN import them into Lightroom."
My question is, since I already have photos in many places on my computer and a lot of folders in Lightroom, how do I go to this format.  I am tempted to move all of my photos on my computer out of their current folders and into one giant folder (/Photos) and reimport everything into a new catalogue by date.  My concern is I will lose the existing "lightroom data" associated with those photos (flags, picks, ratings, key words, develop settings...).  Hoep that makes sense and someone can help me out.
    Thanks

I think (I haven't read the book so I don't know) that the Scott Kelby quote may be applying to a different situation where the files do not already exist within Lightroom. In that circumstance Scott's method seems entirely sensible to me. In the situation you are in - files already present within Lr - it would be the wrong approach.
Lr has the tools you need to move files around and rename files & folders, so there is no need to do this outside of Lightroom and, for all the reasons mentioned above, doing so would be a bad idea.
There are many different options for file structures, but whichever one you choose it makes sense to migrate your existing files to that structure too. Personally as a wedding & portrait photographer I do maybe 100 shoots per year, rarely more than one per day. I don't favour the Bin method as it makes backups easy to create but difficult to locate when you need them. My file structure is Year then Shoot Name then Raw / JPEG / Client / Etc as appropriate. My shoot name is based on the shoot date in reverse, so I use YYMMDD. This number - YYMMDD - is also my job number and appears on all the client paperwork and in all the filenames related to that client. My Raw files are renamed on import by adding the shoot name to the file name, so I get 101223_DSC1234.NEF. My finished files are renamed with a sequence, ie 101223001.JPG, 101223.002.JPG. Other factors like client details (for a repeat client), location, type of shoot are dealt with in keywords. By using a logical structure like this my files are easily accessible using any software, and should I ever (perish the thought) move away from Lightroom then the structure will migrate easily.
This is not necessarily the best structure for everyone, but it work for me. Whichever method you choose Lr will help you to migrate and manage your files well.

  • Mass uploading of folder Structure?

    Dear Expert,
As per client requirement, we needed feasibility of Upload of multiple documents with folder structure. Suppose we had folder structure with different files in folders available in CD, which we wanted to copy/create folder structure in Content server as available in CD. Is there any BAPI is available.
While Searching for this requirement I found bapi_document_create2 u2026.but I want to know with this can I directly copy folder structure available in CD to Content Server.
I wanted to know, as per requirement will it be possible to create folder structure from CD?
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi Sam,
as explained in your SAP customer message the BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 could be used for this requirement. If you want to hand over document structure data please fill table DOCUMENTSTRUCTURE. For further information on the BAPI functionalities please see SAP note 766277.
    Best regards,

  • Vendor Payments Report with WBS Elements

    Dear Expert,
I am looking a report for Vendor outgoing payment against WBS Elements.
Is there any Vendor Payments report with WBS Elements in SAP? I have seen FBL1N but WBS Elements field is blank.
    Thanks
    Samiee.

    Hi,
You mentioned WBS Element is blank; so please check in any one sample payment documnet whetehr WBS is maintained and if yes find which field it is populated. For eg; sometimes people populate this information in the text or assignment field. If that is the case then change the layout accordingly in FBL1N.

  • SAP Netweaver Portal - Folder structure and report publishing strategy

    Hi gurus,
I'm working on a project in which we are publishing BW reports in SAP Netweaver Portal (prior to this, we were using SAP Bex Browser) organizing it by Department (workset, 2nd lvl of navigation), Business Processes (workset, 3rd lvl of navigation) and "iview types" (transactions, queries, dashboards and so on). On 1st level we have a workset simply called "Reports".
For each PFCG role we have on BW (ABAP Server), we created a portal role and defined which of the higher navigation tiers is visible to users (delta-linking the top level navigation worksets to the portal role and setting visible accordingly) and then we assigned Portal roles to the appropriated Group (PFCG role) so all users that have access to certain PFCG role can have access to the corresponding Portal role.
    For example:
In BW (ABAP) we have a PFCG Role: Sales PMR Analysis - Administrator, which grants access to Sales Infoproviders, queries and data for PMR analysis. The user that have access to it, should be able to see:
    |Reports|
    |Sales Administration|
    v PMR Analysis
      > Web Queries
      > Transactions
      > Dashboards
      > Workbooks
In Portal we create a workset that has: "Reports" and under it, all Departments (Sales Administration, Financial, Services, Human Resources and so on) set as "not visible". We create a Portal role called PMR Analysis and add the Report/Departments workset, set Sales Administration as visible and add worksets/folders named PMR Analysis, Web queries, Transactions, etc, and all the corresponding iviews under it.
If we assign this new Portal role to the Group of the corresponding PFCG role, the user will see exactly as the example from above.
Pros: The users have a clean view of the reports he/she has access.
Cons: The users doesn't have a clear view of what is available in BW so he can request access. There might be some useful report lost in on of the hundreds of BW roles that he doesn't know it exist.
One of the options would be to grant visibility to ALL departments, business processes and iviews in Portal and let PFCG security roles control user access, but that might be confusing to have an overwhelming amount of links, making it hard to find what the user needs, specially during first access. Not to mention possible security breaches.
So, I'd like to know how other consultants are defining this kind of folder structure and report publishing strategy in Portal. Ideally we would like to be able to have:
    - Visibility of all existant reports even those that the user does not have acess (so he can learn that it exist and request access)
    - Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
    - Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
I'd appreciate if you guys can share your experience on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Leandro

Cons: The users doesn't have a clear view of what is available in BW so he can request access. There might be some useful report lost in on of the hundreds of BW roles that he doesn't know it exist
This is not a refutation: your BW developers/consultants should be able to write reports, which points you in case of insufficent backend rights. EP is not designed to be familiar with ABAP security concept and cant take any influence at it.
One of the options would be to grant visibility to ALL departments, business processes and iviews in Portal and let PFCG security roles control user access, but that might be confusing to have an overwhelming amount of links, making it hard to find what the user needs, specially during first access. Not to mention possible security breaches.
    Yes, bad idea.
    - Visibility of all existant reports even those that the user does not have acess (so he can learn that it exist and request access)
As you already wrote on your own, this would be not good
    - Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
    - Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
This is not covered by SAP, if you wanna provide that, develop it on your own.
    cheers

  • ALV report with dynamic columns, and repeated structure rows

    Hey Guys,
I've done some ALV programming, but most of the reports were straight forward. This one is a little interesting. So here go the questions...
    Q1: Regarding Columns:
What is the best way to code a report with columns being dynamic. This is one of the parameters the user is going to enter in his input.
    Q2: Regarding Rows:
I want to repeat a structure(say it contains f1, f2, f3) multiple time in rows. What is the best way to do it? The labels for these fields have to appear in the first column.
Below is the visual representation of the questions.

  • How to develop repository manager with initial folder structure

    Hi 2 all!
I wonder if it is possible to create new repository programmatically with defined folder structure. I'm interested in solutions when repository manager is works with db or file system. Can you provide any example or tell me where can I define my structure?
    thnx

    Hi Nata!
Basicly this task consists of two steps:
    1. Deploy a new configuration object for the repository manager
    2. Create the intial folder structure
Step one is simple. Here is the configuration object of the repository manager for /documents. It's been exported from the KM configuration by using the standard export mechanisms. This can be included into a portal application project in Netweaver Studio.
    documents.co.xml
    <?xml version="1.0"  encoding="UTF-8" ?>

This is a DB repository. The config object for a filesystem repository might differ.
Step 2, the creation of the initial file structure may be done with in two different ways:
    a) Include a Repository Service with your repository, which creates the folder structure on the first access of your repository.
    b) Include a Portal app which has to be called once to create the folder structure.
