Display a particular node of Hierarchy in the Report.

Hi , all
I have an urgent requirement that i have to display only a particular node(5) of Hierarchy in the Bw Report , I have tried different options available in the Hierarchy tab (That is Expand to level 5 , Position of lower node - Above , Value of posted node - Hide ) . But stil it is displaying 5 and then 4 node , but i don't want that 4 node .
Can anybody gine me some useful suggestion .

Hi Akash,
- To show only particular nodes of a hierarchy in the Excel sheet:
Step 1: include the base characteristic
Step 2: select the hierarchy (properties of the characteristic) - (display key only)
Step 3: user restrict (from context menu of the characteristic) on the nodes that you want to display.
Step 4: expand to level: 1 (properites of the characteristics)
This should serve the purpose. I know it is a little late, but it might be helpful in the future

Header Fields are not displayed when there is no data in the report

Hi,
I am having this strange situation in my webi report.
When I refresh my report and when there is no data, column names are not being displayed in my report. All it is showing is two empty rows. When I have data, then report is displaying data along with column headings.
Please suggest me where I am going wrong.

Thanks for the update.
Can you try this.
Run the report first time for some data.
When the report is rendered select the table that is displayed.
On the left pane side properties tab.
Expand display and check all the options
Show rows with empty measures
show rows with empty dimensions
Show when empty

Display hyperlinked icon for long columns in the Report

Hi All,
I am new to APEX and i am trying to create report in APEX.
I have column whose contents are too big and displaying it directly on the report mess up the whole report.
Instead i want to display an icon/image in the column and if user wants to see the content , he can click on it and it expands.
Can anyone help me on how can this be done ?

Actually detailed_error column is almost equal to 400 char and adding it to the static text of CSS makes it bigger than 4000 it seems.
But if i change it to

Displaying a note in an area in the report that can be considered common

Hi,
All my KF fields are amounts in INR (Indian Rupees). Is there some way to show that 'all amounts are in INR' in a common place in the report instead of displaying the same in the header of every column

Thanks for telling me about the display of scaling factors in the query properties. That reduces work in adding the unit to the description of every KF
I actually wanted to know if there was way to display 'All amounts are in INR' somewhere in the report since all the KFs are in INR units

Display records returned for a query in the Report Region Title

Hi,
Is there any variable set that can be referenced to indicate how many records have been returned for a specific query. I have several hide/show regions dealing with various reports, and I would like to add a little info into the region title to display how many records there were returned for the report in this region.

Consolidation Group Hierarchy in the reports

Hello exports,
Recently we had a consolidation group hierarchy cahnge. We moved a cons unit from one cons group to other. I did not use the drag and drop of course. The change had been made from 01.10.
The consolidation group is time depended.
The problem regards the queries I have: when I open the combo box of the "consolidation group hierarchy" I expect to get
2 optional hierarchies: one for the previous hierarchy and second for current hierarchy.
Instead I get to see only the current hierarchy. In my point of view it is wrong because users who would like to watch reports for 30.09 can only get to see the new hierarchy which is not relevant for 30.09 yet.
Any ideas anyone ?

Thanks again. The resaults are correct , this is not the problem.
Let me use an example in order to simplify the problem:
Suppose I made an organizational change in 01.10 in which CC A became CG A and owns some other CC under it.
From your point of view, from 01.10 and on the users will see on the selection screen only CG A,
Even if they rather produce the report for 30.09, they wont be able to select CC A.
By the way, on the result screen of the query the hierarchy acts perfectly- just like the hierarchy has been at the specified date, 30.09. As I mentioned- the only problem is relevant for the selection screen.

How to put the product hierarchy in the bw?

I want to have the product hierarchy in the reporting, in a way, that the users can open and shut the elements of the tree.
So i added the foreign hierarchy criteria 0PRODH1, 2, 3 to the InfoObject 0MATERIAL.
Then I used InfoSource 0MATERIAL_LPRH_HIER to put data in 0MATERIAL.
In the result 0MATERIAL HAS the hierarchy, but without any materials added to the leafs.
What did i do wrong?

It says 2 main points with regarding to your problem.
1) Material master records with shared master data in the sales area cannot be assigned to a product hierarchy in BW.
This solution generates the thinnest possible hierarchy, but leads to some restrictions in the navigation options in the BW queries because you can no longer expand the hierarchy to the material numbers.
2) The 0PROD_HIER attribute of 0-MATERIAL must be active as a navigation attribute in the cube.When you expand the hierarchies by product hierarchy in the query, you can display this hierarchy.

Hierarchy problem when Reporting on Infoset

I am reporting on Infoset which is made up of 2 ODS and Customer Master.
ODS 1: General ledger: Line items 1
ODS 2: General ledger Line items- additional fields.
ODS 1 consists of G/L Account.
I have put G/L Account in the filters and i have restricted it by means of the Hierarchy Node Variable.But when am executing the report its giving the error as Variable is Invalid.
By restricting in this similar way i have created quite number of reports in Infocube that contains G/L Account.Moreover in those reports also G/L Account has been restricted by the same Hierarchy Node Variable as in the report on Infoset.
I would like to know whether any constraints when reporting on Infosets?

Error while generating the report in BI using CRM

i have created a query long back called SERVICE REQUEST using Query designer
using that particular query i have generating the reports from MAY 1 to till date
in my report i have a characteristics called USER STATUS , for this user status i can restrict the below values i.e
open
reopen
waiting
in - transfer
resolved
new
completed
in the above values , i want to get the transaction numbers which are not completed i.e. i need to exclude complete
and i need to include all the above values
but after generating the report , am getting completed records too...
and in the report i saw for that completed record i have OPEN DOCUMENTS(key figures) and NO.OF DOCUMENT HEADERS(key figures) is 0
actually if we see any updated record for the particular report the key figure NO.OF DOCUMENT HEADERS should be 1 right?
so in my scenario if NO.OF DOCUMENT HEADERS getting 0 so the filter condition for COMPLETED , is not working
so that the reason even though i have filtered the COMPLETED value for the USER STATUS field , am getting those
fields....
so friends kindly help me in this regard to avoid completed value for the filed USER STATUS..

Reporting on hierarchy particular node

Hi Gurus,
The requirement is to allow users to directly enter particular nodes. For example
WBS element Hierarchy is like this
WBS element = A2S00
Stage 1                 A2S00/01
                                   A2S00/01/01
Stage 2                 A2S00/02
Stage 3                 A2S00/03
create user entry variables like
WBS element var1 : A2S00(User will enter like wbs element)
WBS element var2:   03(User will enter partular for the above WBS element).
Please can you let me know any other options to achive the above scenario.

So your scenario is that you want to let the user input a hierarchy node first. Then, you want them to select from the particular values for the node the user just inputted, using a variable for each?
I am not sure if you can achieve this dependency between the value help for the two variables, but maybe it will work with just one variable for the node, where the user inputs the node value and hits F4 - maybe you can simulate the functionality like that? (maybe the input has to be the value and the * fx: P34-A2*)
Alternatively, if you know for each user, that they only have one or two nodes in the hierarchy that they should report on, you could set it up as an authorization or as user masterdata. Like this, you get the "allowed" node values and you can set the variable up to only display that part of the hierarchy.

Data for a node in Hierarchy not displayed in BEx report.

I have a time dependent hierarchy on 0ORGUNIT. There is a report which displays employee wise, ORGUNIT wise data. This report is based on a Infocube which also has 0ORGUNIT updated in it as a charecteristic.
When i view the contents of the cube for a particular orgunit (5000397), employee (5980) for a particular time range (01.01.2011 - 16.01.2011), it gives me some data. However when i execute a report in BEx (7.0) with the same restrictions; it shows 'No applicable data found'.
In the query designer I have corectly assigned the hierarchy properties to 0ORGUNIT with the hierarchy name, version and date (last date of the user entered time range). Also the hierarchy has been uploaded with the latest data i.e. for orgunit 50000397 there is an entry for the period: 01.09.2009 - 31.12.9999.
Can you please suggest.

Can you check and make sure..that there are no other Global filters in the Query Design..

How to return list of lowest level elements in a hierarchy given the node o

We would like to return a list of the lowest level Elements in a Hierarchy from a given node of the hierarchy. The level of the node that is given to us is unknown, but regardless, we need the ability to return the lowest level elements. We are trying to find a non-ABAP solution to our needs and trying to use a BEx query as a source for our APD.
In query designer we are able to obtain the correct list when using the Hierarchy and Condition with a Leaf value of '1' to return the lowest level. However, We have come to learn APDs do no support the BEx hierarchies. When we de-selected the 'Activate Hierarchy' display in the query, the entire structure under the given node is returned.
Does anybody know of a way to return just the lowest level elements in a hierarchy so we can feed our APD?

expac works only with official and unofficial repos, not with the AUR, but it's very nice.
Adding '-q' should help, grep to weed out false positives.

Selecting all hierarchy nodes in the report

Hi Friends,
In my report I have a Hierarchy 0ORGUNIT, there are a few sub nodes under this hierarchy.
When the user runs the report if they want to see all the nodes under a top node, they have to expand each node till the last node and select them one by one.
My question is, is it possible to select all the sub nodes under a node just by selecting the top node?.
If yes can someone please let me know how to do this?.
I did check the sdn, but could get anything.

Hi,
You can do that for the initial display i.e. the very first time you execute the query but once you collapse all the nodes you will not be able to expand all the nodes with one click.
For showing different levels in the first display go to the characteristic properties on which you have hierarchy maintained, in the hierarchy properties section set the option 'Expand to Level' and hierarchy will be expaned for all the nodes till the level you select.

Hierarchy node value in the report

Hi all,
I have a 0cost center for which master data hierarchy has been loaded.
This 0costcenter has 4 hierarchy nodes and under each node there are few cost centers.
Say these nodes are zones then under each zone there are few costcenters.
Now my question is in the reporting I want to see the costcenters Zonal wise.
Say if I want to see only the zone 1 and the rest three zones should not get visible or displayed then how could I do that?.
How can I restrict the other User viewing my zone and the cost centers and their values?
I want a report based on zones and that to with authorization?

Yes as you said I create a hierarchy node variables for zone 1 ,zone2, zone3, and zone4 and as per the requirement I can call the variable to display the data zone wise.
When it comes for Users then how could I restrict the variables according to the Users?
As you said how to fill the node with authorization?
How to use standard authorizations and where can I find them?
And how can I fill them at run time?
how to use personalisation to default in per user the value of the node and then not allow the variable to be user selected, how to do this ?
