Display about 20% darker, Dim. Happened after last update.
My imac display is dim, kinda dark. Happened after last update and I have googled like crazy to find a solution, no luck so far. This is what i have done so far.
- I have tried several settings in the Energy Saver part of settings.
- Brightness is set to 100%
- I have tried several Display Profiles and also made my own.
- Did reset the PRAM, NVRAM several times.
- Even started it in safe boot etc..
- Reinstalled OS X completely
It seems like a software related problem. If i press sleep the screen of course goes black but the interesting thing is that when it wakes up it is back to the normal nice brightness for about 5-10 seconds then goes dim again.
Screen is at the normal brightness when using boot camp, windows.
Please if anyone has a solution, thank you.
I'm not convinced that it is a software issue, here's why: Our DVD burner stopped working so we brought it in to the local Apple store for repair. BTW the machine is 2 & 1/2 y.o. and yes, I purchased the extended warranty and I'm so glad I did (usually I pass on them). Anyway, they replaced the burner, we picked it up and when we plugged it in at home I noticed that the display was nice and bright and then went dim!
I proceeded to change the display brightness controls as well as the gamma settings. I got it to look better (still not as bright as prior to repair) but it still got bright and then dim after waking.
Since there were no software issues with the burner replacement, other than perhaps some drivers for the burner???, I attribute it to the repair!
Just my $0.02 and would welcome any suggestions as to what it is and how to resolve the issue.

Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
I wasted about 1.5 hours with Apple on this issue. It all started happening after I updated to the latest version of iTunes. I haven't been able to sync my iPhone 4 in 1 month and am freaking out about possibly losing my pictures, video, text messages and music.

Wi-Fi on my iphone4s is grayed out and I think this happened after the update 7.0.4. I tried all possible solutions through apple online support and then went to apple store as a last resort and they turned me down that there is no support in the 2nd year. Only option is to pay 160 pounds and get replacement. When I argued further, they said that if I had bought the iphone directly with them, they would replace me without any cost. This is even more frustrating.
THIS IS TOTALLY UNFAIR as its not my fault. If the release of faulty 7.0.4 software is timed in my 2nd year of contract and since I didnt buy the iphone directly from Apple, how is it fair to ask me to pay for replacement. Its not my fault after all.Because you are outside the one year hard ware warrenty, Apple covers for the first year on their dime, if you had a two year contract why not make sure you have a two year insurance on your phone?
Either way as I can see/assume you are from europe you can look at your consumer laws to see if you qualify for anything there, beyond that it isn't the software that broke the device, it's a hardware failure because thousands upon thousands are happy and content with iOS 7.0.4 -

It's not impossible, you can always use CVS to get the old versions of PKGBUILD & Co. You can read about it in the wiki
I don't know how much packages are needed for the downgrade but you will need at least cups and libcups:
libcups:
there is only a PKGBUILD (no additional files) so I think this should do it (back to 1.2.9)
cups:
there are more files than just the PKGBUILD, but most of them haven't been modified since a long time except PKGBUILD (9 days ago) and maybe fr-template.patch (3 weeks ago), so most important should be this page.
With these information/files you can recreate the lost/old packages yourself. Copy /var/abs/lib/libcups and /var/abs/daemons/cups into /var/abs/local and modify the PKGBUILDs according to the CVS diff entries mentioned above and type makepkg. AFAIK this should be enough.
If you are lucky (and don't use abs too much, last maybe a month ago or so) then your abs-tree might still contain the old files and you can use them without modifications . -
The gyro no longer works when using the remote app on my iPad. I updated to iOS 7.0.1.

I have the exact same problem with some apps.
Even when I try some websites in Safari and Chrome that require loading big chunks of data they crash.
Today it crashed in two new places. In the notification center and when I opened newstand app I no longer was able to return to the main window and the dock disappeared.
I have my ipad retina for about three months now but latelly this issue has became more frequent. What should I do?

ITunes no longer opening after last update.
ITunes not opening after last update on my main user. Second user is fine however accesses different library.
Computer freezes when attempting to open ITunes. Have also searched for the sync services file but is not located under reveal in folder or go to options.
Apologies I am not the best tech savy person and have read other posts trying to solve the problem. Other posts asked for the following reports.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated - we are an apple household and this is effecting everything!

My Ipod no longer appears in the list when plugged into my computer. As a result the autofill button is gone and I cant update songs to my 1st generation Ipod shuffle. This came about after last update. It's as if the system doesn't recognize my Ipod although I continue to get the message that the Ipod is syncing and the system signals me when the syncing is complete.
My main concern is how do I go about autofilling now?I said to click on the button NEXT TO (to the right of) the Settings button, which should say "On This iPod" in the current version of iTunes. The Settings screen is what iTunes is currently showing so clicking on Settings again will not change the screen.
In previous version of iTunes, you also clicked on the "tab" next to Settings to get a listing of the shuffle's contents, and the Autofill button. It was just called something else instead of On This iPod (I think it was "Contents"). So the procedure itself has not changed in the current version of iTunes.

Battery drain after last update (5.4.0.4165)
After last update battery consumption went up to 40%, reinnstalled and it dropped to 26%. But that is still way too high. Especially since I barely use it on my phone..

Thanks for submitting feedback about the battery life of Skype for Android. The developers of the app are making great strides to improve the functionality and other aspects, including battery life, so that it runs better for its users!
Skype, by nature, does use more battery than many other apps. It should be understood that it has to constantly contact Skype's servers in order to receive incoming call, chat and contact data. You can reduce the amount of battery usage by closing some other apps that you do not use, reducing screen use time, ensuring that you are in areas with good reception (because cell standby greatly reduces battery) and rebooting the phone after a day or two can make a difference in your battery life.
Remember that the development team has surely made it a priority to make the app consume less battery and kill off the bugs that cause that. They probably have more in store, so just you wait and see! Things could be looking good! With you posting this, they'll take notice and probably work to reduce that 26% usage to something lower in later updates!

Flash CC doesn't start up after last update
Flash CC doesn't start up after last update. It said "Training en zelfstudie" (Training and self-stufy in Dutch) for the update.
Everything was working fine before the update, now if I try to start-up Flash solo,
it says: "Flash werkt niet meer" (Flash has stopped working), and quits.
As you can probably tell from the message, I'm on Windows 7.
Now here is interesting info: if I double click a previous movie, then Flash starts up fine and loads the previous movie.
However when I close it and the screen that should appear is the "new movie" dialog, flash hangs again.
So obviously something went wrong installing the new update, or the update doesn't work properly.
I'm now working with my pre-cc flash5.5 version, which I re-installed to avoid crashing flash every time I close a file.
My questions:
1- Where do I log this problem? (Or am I in the right place?)
2- Can I re-install the previous version, which worked fine? (I can live without tutorials etc.)
3- Can I try to re-install this version if the above is not possible and how do I go about doing that?What fixed the problem for me was just reinstalling Flash CC. I thought I'd give it a try, because I couldn't find a message of anyone experiencing the same problem.
So I used the control panel to uninstall Flash, then I tried reinstalling.
Creative Cloud kept saying Flash is up to date, so you can't reinstall. If you click on the gear and choose Exit and then restart Creative Cloud it will take a few seconds, but the it will see the situation as it is and you can reinstall Flash.
After the reinstall the issue was gone.
Thanks for the other solutions, I think this is a handy resource for rolling back Flash if I ever do need it
and gives me more confidence in the creative cloud product.
Maybe Adobe will pick it up and make it easier for us 'normal' creative-cloud users to
pick which version we want. Like you can do in CVS systems. -
My IPhoto crashes during database converting after last update .... help!!!!
After last update, IPHOTO started to converting images database. After step 5/9 it is hanging up. What I can do?????

TomekPYou might want to look at an earlier thread (link) about this issue, I also had the same issue with step 9 of 9 and 5 of 9 and this was my solution:
"Had the same issue with the never ending and faulty update to iPhoto 9.3. I got so frustrated that I ended up getting rid of iPhoto 9.3 and restoring my iPhoto to version 9.2.3.
You can do this by(1) erasing iPhoto from your computer from the applications folder and (2) reloading iPhoto from your iLife '11 DVD. When I did this I got overzealous and accidentally erased previous versions of the iPhoto updates as well. This was easy to correct by going to http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=search&src=support_site.psp.more&locale=e n_US&q=iPhoto and reloading the 9.1 and 9.2.3 iPhoto updates. Once I restored 9.2.3 -- the version prior to 9.3 -- I was able to see my photos again.
iPhoto 9.3 is obviously faulty if it cannot finish updating. I called Apple support and visited the "genius" bar and was told twice that they had never heard of this issue. Please call Apple support and voice your problems so that someone in the iPhoto software development team will eventually become aware of this problem." -

Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
I wasted about 1.5 hours with Apple on this issue. It all started happening after I updated to the latest version of iTunes. I haven't been able to sync my iPhone 4 in 1 month and am freaking out about possibly losing my pictures, video, text messages and music.
Windows XP user.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.If might be helpful if you actually told us what the problem is.

T510 ThinkVantage button and updates software broken after last update 12/1/2010
After last updates I ran on Dec 1, 2010, the ThinkVantage button does nothing. Running the updates and drivers from the control panel flashes the GUI splash screen then closes.
Lenovo really screwed this one up! Now you can't even get the updates to work to fix other issues.

Try uninstalling the PC-Doctor / Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox and System Update from Add/Remove programs, do a mandatory restart, thereafter download and run CCleaner, scan for registry issues with it and fix them. Subsequently, manually install both Toolbox and System Update.
Keep us posted with the results.

Mail Keep asking For my AOL Mail Password after last update
Every once in a while (about 3 times a day) mail pops up asking for my aol password (i never chanegd it). It even saves my password when the message pops up all i have to do is hit save.
Ive searched the net up and down but what i found works for a short period of time, Then it pops up again.
This is what pops up in console, ive blanked out my info. I dont know what twitter and facebook have anything to do with it but hopefully someone can help me fix this problem, its very annoying. especially since it always worked fine untill i updated.
This started happening after i updated to 10.9.1 which is odd because this and the previous update was supposed to fix this alot of osx mail problems that i never had in the first relase of mavericks.

After last update the split keyboard option is not working and side switch button option works opposite for mute and rotation lock.

A long story about your issue... I think the reason of this is why you have deleted some registry keys. If you delete something in the Windows registry you should really know what you do. You can damage the complete Windows system!
So I think this is the reason why the keyboard doesnt anymore.
In the user manual I have founded that the CD-ROM booting option is only available with optional optical disk drive.
So for me it sounds like that your USB CD drive is not compatible to the notebook
