Display All Marked / Flagged for Follow Up Emails Separately

Display All Marked / Flagged for Follow Up Emails Separately
I was wondering, is there actually a way to display flagged emails in some sort of folder or separate view at least, as it is common within desktop mail applications and any other user interfaces from free email providers like Gmail, Yahoo!, or AOL and the likes?
It's very complicated and not very user friendly to mark an email for follow up, because you need to decide at what point in the future you want to be reminded. When that day arrives and you're not ready to reply yet, you will have to go through each follow up email again and repeat those steps to re-mark them for a later date. And that is really annoying. Or am I missing something here?
Can't I just simply mark my emails, like, star them in order to review them later and to be able to have a look at them from time to time, just like it is possible in other applications or in your browser?
I have noticed that there is an option to star an email within a Gmail account, but I'm not quite convinced that they sync both ways properly anyway. Also, that feature doesn't come with all email services. For example, how would I star an email in my AOL account?
I understand that BlackBerry is not based on IMAP and therefore has its limitations, however, it would be nice if there was another solution for this, or an explanation at least. It's simply impossible to go through hundreds and thousands of emails in order to find a flagged email.
It's already a pain that the emails themselves won't sync (read/unread) with your desktop and other devices, but do you have any advice or workaround to improve the synchronization of flagging or starring?
I have been using BlackBerrys for many years now, and I really still enjoy them, but the fact that it isn't based on IMAP is a big downside and no longer up to date. Times really have changed.
Another thing: When I mark as follow up, the default time always seems to be 5 p.m. -- probably because the calendar day starts at 9 AM and ends at 5 PM by default. I thought changing the "day ends" option would do the trick and also change the default time for the reminder, unfortunately it isn't. Is there another way to change that, or will I have to set the time manually every time?
Your help is very much appreciated.

  • Flagged for follow up emails in my reminders?

    The new reminders and flagged email system is great BUT I cannot see flagged emails set as reminders in Outlook to appear in my reminders list.  The process is:
    - Email is sent out regarding a quote
    - Flagged for follow up is created via a rule
    - Flagged for follow up email is located in my tasks list in Outlook (Exchange Server)
    - Email is flagged in the inbox of my iphone, but the reminder does not appear in my reminders list.
    Does anyone have a suggestion for this?  I can get the reminder to show up from Outlook if nothing is attached to the reminder.
    This is a gab I would really like to close up, because it will become a pain if I don't.  I essentially want to create list of emailed quotes to follow up on to appear in my reminders on my phone.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    You obviously have never had a job that requires you to be in and out of meetings all day.  I can't tell you how many times my phone has gone off in a meeting b/c I forgot to take it out of my pocket and use the switch when the meeting starts (as the presenter it's even more embarrassing).  Even worse, times I have remembered to flip the switch, I have forgotten to flip it back after the meeting and end up missing calls for hours since sometimes I don't feel it vibrating.
    Yes, I do attend a considerable number of meetings on a daily basis, and I, like EVERY ONE ELSE I KNOW, turns the phone to vibrate or slent during the course of meeting. The fact that you seem to struggle with this may well say more about you than the phone design. Being able to control your phone to prevent disruption is a pretty basic business skill.
    The problem isn't that Apple didn't facilitate this feature, but that they lock any other apps out of creating this feature do to limited access to the iCloud Calendar.  The only way to get around this is to jailbreak.  I shouldn't have to adapt to taking the phone out of my pocket and flipping the switch before and after every meeting; the point of technology is to make life easier.  If Apple truly wants to continue becoming the corporate platform of choice, then these types of changes are not "a waste of time and overhead."
    Yes, third party apps are locked from a considerable amount of interaction with the other apps and Os functions. It is one of the characteristics of the system that makes it relatively safe from malware and other intrusions. A far more important corporate feature than trying to completely dumb proof a phone.
    It wasn't my intent to hijack this thread, but it was obviously your intent based on your thoughtless fanboy comment.
    Is your intent to make your self sound ignorant? If so you are succeeding.
    Tying back the original post to this same topic, almost every corporate environment relies on Exchange server, so the inability to sync the Outlook flags as reminders in iOS is also a glaring absence.  Has no one found a way to solve this?
    I am connecting to Exchange and get my flags with no problem, regardless if they are set on Outlook on the PCor in the iOS mail app. Comms team here  recently polled everyone using Active Sync on mobile devices and found zero instances of issues with this within my company. That's several thousand users globally. Obviously it isn't a universal issue, and very likely has more to do with Exchange deployments than the operating system on the phones and iPads, probably an issue with Active directory, Active Sync or similar Exchange/IIS function. That means Microsoft is going to need to provide some guidance to Exchange server admins to resolve, and past history would indicate that will be very slow in coming.
    In the meantime, there are work arounds such as using dedicated action folders; a third party app that allows settings priority, dues date, etc. within it (Boxer does this); One Note; or applying some basic mail management process (which would be a good idea anyway).

  • How to mark flag for deletion for bulk of customers.

    Hi friends,
      GM..
    I hv a question , that how to mark flag for deletion for bulk of customers.Few function modules are there (eg. HRCA_CUSTOMER_DELETE ) which are going to 'XD06' transaction to set the flag for individual customers.
    But data is huge so it's not possible to go & mark the flag for deletion for  individual customers.So what is the solution for this.....
      waiting for ur reply....
    Thanx.
    Regards,
    Ajit.

    Hi Ajit,
      XD99 can be used as a appropriate mass deletion tool for customers .
    It is good for max 500 customers to mark for deletion, if you have more than that some times you may get dump.
    OR
    You can write a program to read an excel file into an internal table and call the function BUP_BUPA_MASS_DELETE to delete the customers.
    OR
    To mark the BP's for Delete use the following code sample.
    It marks the BP's for Delete and once you archive them delete them in bulk.
    data : BUPANUM type BU_PARTNER,
    RETMSG type ITMSG,
    ls_central type BAPIBUS1006_CENTRAL,
    ls_Central_X type BAPIBUS1006_CENTRAL_X.
    ls_central-CENTRALARCHIVINGFLAG = 'X'.
    ls_central-CENTRALBLOCK = 'X' .
    move-corresponding ls_Central to ls_Central_X.
    CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_BUPA_CENTRAL_CHANGE'
    EXPORTING
    BUSINESSPARTNER = BUPANUM
    CENTRALDATA = ls_Central
    CENTRALDATA_X = ls_Central_X
    TABLES
    RETURN = RETMSG.
    if you give me brief i can help you out more.
    Thank you .

  • Flag for Follow Up

    Does anyone know of a way to send a javamail message with a flag that functions similarly to the Outlook flags?
    In Outlook:
    New Message> Actions> Flag for Follow Up...

    Flags are specific to the mail store. This means that you cannot send a message and have the flag persist on the remote server.
    You can set the "priority" of a message by adding a header but that doesn't mean the client will do anything intersting with it.

  • How to display all available data for KFs from different Cubes

    Hi,
    I am using a MultiProvider that consists of two InfoCubes. KF1 uses Cube1, KF2 uses Cube2 - characteristic Country exists in both cubes. I have the following data:
    KF1 - Country 1: 5
    KF1 - Country 3: 8
    KF1 - Country 4: 10
    KF2 - Coutnry 1: 9
    KF2 - Country 2: 7
    KF2 - Country 5: 3
    I have a query that uses Country as a drilldown characteristic (ROWS) and displays the values of KF1 and KF2 (COLUMNS) for each Country. However, instead of seeing data for Countries 1-5 I only see data where I have results for KF1 (Countries 1,3 and 4). The value for Country 1 for KF2 shows up correctly in the corresponding row, but Countries 2+5 aren't displayed for KF2. If I change the Access Type for Result Values from "Posted Values" to "Master Data" I get the correct result. However this is not feasible in the final setting due to the amount of data that has to be handled (MasterData setting will lead to crashes of the query due to maximum number of cells exceeded).
    Are there any other options to force the query to display values for all characteristic values where I have data for any KF?
    Thanks a lot for your help!
    Best regards,
    David

    As it turned out the issue was due to 2 restrictions on KPI2:
    1) Restriction to InfoProvider "Cube 2"
    2) Constant selection on two characteristics that have filters on a global level but which should not affect the display of the data for KF2
    Removing (1)+(2) provided the desired result.

  • Messages are flagged for follow-up, but the user didn't flag them.

    Hello All,
    I have two users who are complaining that messages they didn't flag are showing up as flagged in their To-Do bars.  The odd thing is that the flagged messages are only present if they are not in Cached mode, or if they check OWA.  Both users are
    also able to access a XenDesktop non-persistent virtual desktop, which presents Outlook in non-Cached mode.  When they access Outlook via XenDesktop, the erroneously flagged messages are present.  If they use Outlook in Cached mode, the messages
    don't appear on their To-Do bar.  Our organization doesn't permit PST files, so neither users has a PST.  One user mentioned that it he noticed it after he re-ordered some tasks in the To-Do bar by drag-and-drop.
    -Outlook 2007
    -Exchange 2010 SP3
    Multiple Internet searches have found no solutions, so I'm hoping someone in the community here will have an idea.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    The flag is only an attribute for an email. If online mode and OWA show that the emails are flagged, it means the flag attribute is set to true on the Exchange mailbox.
    For this kind of issues, I will check:
    1. If the mailbox is shared with other users and the emails are flagged by them. (Any delegates)
    2. If there are any third-party add-ins on Outlook that may flagged the emails.

  • I3pystatus - display ALL the information (for i3)

    Language: Python
    Source + Readme: https://github.com/enkore/i3pystatus
    License: MIT
    PyPI: https://pypi.python.org/pypi/i3pystatus
    AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/i3pystatus-git (this is a git package and git is not considered stable by me)
    It's a complete replacement for i3status with a ton of modules (some need additional libraries, which is mentioned in the readme). The exceptional thing about i3pystatus are the many many options to customize everything. All modules allow to use a custom format string to display exactly what you want.
    Modules included in current release (3.27):
    Volume display for ALSA + pulseaudio
    Network status
    Wireless status
    Backlight brightness display
    Battery monitor (highly customizable, also supports D-Bus notifications if the battery goes below an alert treshold)
    Clock
    Disk monitor
    Load
    New-Mail Display for notmuch, Thunderbird, and IMAP
    MPD display for current song, play state
    Parcel tracker for DHL and UPS — currently DHL doesn't work, they changed their site and don't have a proper API (well, they do, but certification costs 400 euros)
    PyLoad status display
    Runwatch for standard pid
    files
    Intel (and others?) CPU temp display
    Also generic modules to display stuff from text files in a grep-like fashion (regex, file)
    In the upcoming release (3.28) included: CPU usage, new options for mem, new-mail notification for mbox ...
    i3pystatus also supports the click events protocol extension that is supported by i3 4.6 and newer, allowing it to do stuff if you click on something in your i3bar. E.g. clicking on the MPD info will toggle play/pause, right clicking on it will mute/unmute MPD.

    If you use the wireless module and get the following error since an upgrade of wireless_tools to >= 0.30
    ImportError: libiw.so.29: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    Then recompile basiciw
    pip-3.3 uninstall basiciw
    pip-3-3 install basiciw

  • Displaying all Operation Splits for an Order in WorkOrderList MAM3.0

    Hello Experts,
    I have the following requirement in MAM3.0.
    Mobile Infrastructure 7.0
    1.     All the Operation Split details from operation list needs to be added in orderlist based on the check for userid from MAM30_090.
    2.     Order List to be sorted, arranged in a particular manner and hiding certain fields in the jsp.
    Please provide the solutions ASAP.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Mani

    Hi,
    As far as I know thats how standard MAM works. For any gloabl order, if you create notifications on the client, they fall under order objects list.
    The only way from the client you can achieve your requirement is, when you create both order and notifications on the client locally. That means, first create the order locally, and before sync, rom the order header details click on notification create button and then create a notification. This way both order header will have notificaiton number and viceversa. And later, all the notifications created for that order falls under order objects list and the first created notification in the order header.
    For your second question of status change of order, from the error it looks like you are changing the status on the client and the middleware detects a conflict when you do a sync(but i think you are not modifying on the backend at the same time). Kindly check on the backend if you have missed to apply any related notes.
    Regards,
    Siva.

    hi we have a transaction called s_alr_86012326 in the gui...
    when we execute the transaction in the gui we can see a lot of data but i am not able to see besides 1 entry thru the portal. any idea why?
    besides this there is one more issue...
    when i log in with the test id from one another system i am not able to see the iview itself..what happens is that it presents a dialogue box aas the new window opens and prompts me to save a file or cancel it... the file got a strange extension

    Hello Ankur,
    The Pop Up is coming because you don't have SAP Logon Pad (SAP GUI) installed in that computer. Just installed it and the pop up will go.
    Regarding the transaction not displaying data, check ur authorization in backend i.e. check the authorization of the user to which ur portal user is mapped.

  • Make Outlook's "mark for follow up" become a shared task by default

    Hello,
    My overall goal here is to improve our team's workflow. Right now, it's WAY easier to maintain an excel document that we access through Excel Online (so we can simultaneously edit if we need to) than it is to try to share tasks via Outlook's Tasks list.
    We're using Outlook 2013 and Exchange Online. Basically I'd like to have tasks and everything shared between myself and my team. However, if we have to go through the rigmarole of sharing a task via email and accepting the task, then we'll just stick with
    the Excel spreadsheet, because it's much faster.
    I'd especially like the ability to take an email, mark it for follow up, and have our whole team receive it as a to do list / task item.
    I have concerns about using a shared mailbox, because we get all our emails in to our personal mailbox. We'd have to tell a lot of clients and partners to switch to emailing the shared mailbox and that would be a challenge.
    Thanks in advance!
    Joey

    Given the bug with shared hyperlinks (see https://forums.adobe.com/message/6408902#6408902), I too would like to turn off shared hyperlink destination as the default. Anyone found a way to do this?

    Exchange Server 2013, Outlook 2010 clients. I monitor a few Public Folders for our organization and items flagged for follow up don't appear in my For Follow Up search folder. What can be done?

    Search Folders do not search Public Folders.  You'd have to copy the item to your Mailbox, or create a Task in your Mailbox.

  • Is there a way to display all the image files(jpeg, png, ) present in the

    Description:
    Currently I am using Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.5 for CLDC, Beta 2 toolkit for developing J2ME applications. I am using the javax.microedition.amms.control.imageeffect package(JSR 234) for adding effects like red eye, border, etc. I need to display all the images in my /res folder so that the user can select one from the list for further image processing. I used File Connection API for displaying the images from the file system's /root folder. But while trying to apply the image effects I found that I can not access the file system's /root folder through getResourceAsStream(). getResourceAsStream()could only access the /res folder . Is this correct? Is there any other way to give the InputStream to the media processor through setInput()? Is there any other alternative to getResourceAsStream()? Or Is there any direct way to access the /res folder and display all its files for the user to select?
    Here is the code that I am using for providing the input and output streams and applying the image effect to the source file Duke.jpg in /res folder.
    MediaProcessor mp = GlobalManager.createMediaProcessor("image/jpeg");
    mp.addMediaProcessorListener(this);
    outputStream = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    inputStream= getClass().getResourceAsStream(Duke.jpg);
    mp.setInput(inputStream, MediaProcessor.UNKNOWN);
    mp.setOutput(outputStream);
    ImageTransformControl itc = ImageTransformControl) mp.getControl ("javax.microedition.amms.control.imageeffect.ImageTransformControl");
    final int border =10;
    itc.setSourceRect(itc.getSourceWidth(), 0, -itc.getSourceWidth() , itc.getSourceHeight() );
    itc.setTargetSize(itc.getSourceWidth(),itc.getSourceHeight(),0);
    itc.setEnabled(true);
    mp.start();
    mp.complete();

    you need to set resource path correct place image file resource folder is correct but there is problem so yu need put the image in resource in this way C:\WTK23\apps\Image\res\example\hello\image.gif this work
    in the code try this InputStream byteInput = getClass().getResourceAsStream("/example/hello/image.gif"); this works if you need any more help contant [email protected]

  • Marking outgoing emails for follow-up

    Hi,
    A lot of the email I send out are messages I need to follow up on at a later stage. Right now, my approach is to review my outbox every week and then read every message I sent to catch up on any developments (yay for 'organize by conversation') and either archive if case closed or follow up. It's a bit tedious and requires me to read a lot of messages I shouldn't have to. It also means that in some cases I am sitting with somebody in my team and I'll miss an opportunity to check on status because I haven't added the issue to my 'to do' app yet.
    What I'm looking for is this ...
    While I'm composing a new message or writing a response to an existing message, I want to be able to mark this message for follow-up.
    Here is what I've done so far ...
    I know I can mark a message with a flag after it has been sent. But those are a significant number of added clicks and not a very elegant solution.
    Same goes for tools like MailHub, which let me mark emails after they have been sent.
    I've considered writing a script that gets triggered upon email send, popping up a dialog asking to flag the message or not. With Mail Act-On, I can run scripts that way. Better, but could get rather annoying quite quickly.
    I've found MailTags, but it slows down Mail and the horrid user interface makes my eyes hurt.
    And while the keynote showing off Mavericks had me hoping the tags would be in Mail too, I installed the beta and it seems there is no tag support included in Mail. I guess one can hope it will get added before final release, but I am thinking it will not be.
    I'm sure I'm not the only person who faces this situation.
    Any recommendations?
    cheers,
    Rob
