Display and Repair Issue

Ok, so I picked up the 2ghz aluminum macbook 4 weeks ago. I had to to have the local apple store fix it twice, first due to a subtle screen flicker on low brightness levels, and second because when they put the new screen on it was not aligned with the base properly. No biggie, and they were quick to fix both issues. I looked the screen over in the store yesterday when I picked it up, and I noticed a silver line going across the bottom of the screen, directly above the black border (not on a lighted part of the screen, you can see this line when the screen is off). I asked the genius about it, and he checked some notebooks behind the counter, stating they had the line too. On the store's displays I noticed 2 that had it, 4 did not. I know my original screen did not have it visible. It is reflective, so only a well lit room reveals it. Anyone else have this? They also managed to give me 2 small scuffs and a small scratch on the top aluminum casing. Considering taking it back to them, but looking for insight first. Thanks for any feedback.

They can provide some kind of way towards this solutions...
eg:
1) Accept my UK iPhone in India courier it to Purchased Place (Repaired it)

5) Approve my VISA for going to UK again as it not easy for INDIAN to go there with some kind of this Reason.
6) Give the Postal Address where we can send our APPLE to get only Service and they can send it back to us if it got reparied.
As no one would like to go UK only to Purchase APPLE..
There are some personal reason they have to go to Other countries for ... and If some one is FAN of APPLE like me would do the same mistake that I have done..
7) If the APPLE wanted to serve their customer they would have get to the solutions with their excellent mind.
     As far as I am concern I am just the USER of my FAV APPLE but.. .. I guess this policy would not keep me as the SAME FAN of APPLE as I am now...
If this is not going to get solved I guess I have to start with other BRAND Like SAMSUNG S4 where I can get everything in my STATE..
But YEH it not a right was to have this BAD policy.
I just dont know why they are not coming ip with great solution for this issue in this tecnology world.
Any help to find other BEST Brand who has awesome services..

  • External display and sleep issues

    A 15-inch MacBook Pro worked fine with an external display and keyboard prior to the 10.5.2 update. After the update the external display goes dark when the laptop is closed. Hitting the external keyboard momentarily wakes up the external display but then it almost immediately goes back to sleep. It's as if the MBP thinks it's in battery mode and not plugged into an AC outlet.
    All Energy Saver settings are to keep the display awake. Could this be a corrupt driver or some other issue?

    A lot of us are having the following problems after the graphic update:
    -not waking from sleep (waking, but display staying dark, restart is only solution)
    -not being able to use in clamshell mode (with external monitor)
    -not being able to run external monitor at full resolution
    I've also had some weird bugs like the settings and calibration of my external somehow coming over to my MBP monitor after disconnecting the them.
    I hope Apple can fix this.

  • Display and driver issues with Windows 7 on i5 MBP

    Hello-
    I just purchased one of the i5 Macbook Pros, and set out to get Windows 7 working through boot camp. I did this on an older model (32-bit) previously with no problems.
    This time around, installation of Windows worked fine, but I have had some trouble getting all the drivers working. The setup.exe program on the OS X DVD didn't want to run at all, I had to do a workaround from the command line that I found on a forum (otherwise I just got a response of "Bootcamp x64 is unsupported on this computer model").
    Eventually I got (at least some of) the drivers to work, but there are still some issues.
    After installing the drivers, things like brightness and two-finger clicking started working. A number of other things still aren't, though:
    - Display: My machine has a 1440x900 screen. But for some reason Windows refuses to go higher than 1280x800.
    - Network: No wireless at all. Windows doesn't detect any wireless capability, and only gets on-line via ethernet.
    There may be other issues, but these are the big ones. Can anyone provide suggestions on what to do to get everything working?

    I just used winclone to move my Win 7 from my Core2Duo MPB to an i5 MBP and had to do a few updates and have eneded up in pretty much the same place as you. I won't bother installing from scratch. I'm guessing we just need to wait for some bootcamp updates for these new machines.
    For those of you who are looking to migrate your bootcamp partition over, winclone made it easy - I followed the directions for resizing and Win7 boots, does a disk check, then installed many of the new drivers automatically. There are some drivers that are still needed however, wifi and video. I also so a USB driver issue but have to look at that a little closer before I comment.

  • Display and sound issues with One Link Pro Dock and X1

    When my computer is connected to the dock and shut down there is a buzzing that comes from the external speakers that the dock is connected too.
    Same thing happens if I leave the dock connector not connected.
    What is causing this feedback and can anything stop it?
    Display wise, my external monitor goes black every 30 minutes or so for 5 seconds and then comes back.
    I am running Windows 8.1 if that matters.

  • IPad mini with retina display and airplay issues?

    Hey guys, So i bought an iPad mini with retina display last week. Have an ipad 3 at home that we've been using before that. For some reason, using Airplay from the Mini doesnt seem to work properly. I use the same apps (Dailymotion, Youtube and a few links online) on the iPad 3 and they work fine. But whenever i use in my mini, the video stops after a few mins. it stops playing on the tv, and continues on the ipad. Is anyone else having the same problem? BTW all my devices have up to date software so that is not an issue i think . .Be good to get some help/ feedback /suggestions about this . Thanks

  • PDF display and preview issue : NWDS 7.1 SP 05 + ALD 7.1

    Hi All
    I am creating a webdynpro java application in NWDS 7.1 SP 05. This application has an interactive form ui element. The livecycle designer version is 7.1 and reader versions tried are 8 and 9.
    The issue is that the pdf preview in NWDS is blank and also I am getting blank white space instead of the form when i deploy the application on a browser.
    I have used NWDS 7.1, SP05 + ALD 7.1 combination on another system and there i can see the form in NWDS pdf preview.
    I am completely stuck, please let me know of any way out.

    I can't give a specific response, but if possible, upgrade to LCD 8.0 - it is much smoother to use than 7.1.
    I almost pulled out all my hair working with 7.1

  • 2010 Mac Mini display and network issues after Mountain Lion installation

    I just installed Mountain Lion on my 2010 Mac Mini, but now the display won't work and it isn't showing up on my network.  I have it hooked up to my TV (I don't have another screen for it) via HDMI.  Also, I've mainly used this computer by using the share screen function with my laptop, so I don't have a keyboard or mouse for it either.  The Mini is no longer showing up on my laptop's network list...  Any suggestions?

    I would see if you borrow a USB keyboard and mouse
    from some one, because otherwise trouble shooting the
    problem will be next to impossible as sometimes the fixes
    and diagnostics require the keyboard (PRAM reset, Hardware
    Test, etc.).

  • Display and power issue with iBook G4

    My girlfriends iBook recently started acting up... here's the situation. I'm pretty sure it is a G4 but not positive. It's the "chiclet" version and a HD900? After coming back from a vacation the display seemed to go strange. I was able to get it to boot up just fine but every time I do the display starts to show bleeding colors and crazy patterns after a few minutes. When I do boot it up it always shows the "Your computers time is set to a date prior to" error as well. If I hold down the power button I get a rapidly blinking light on the front panel and a chime.
    Does anyone have any thoughts? Does that model have some sort of internal battery that might need replacing? Any type of reset that I might try? Any help appreciated!

  • Text display and scaling issue

    Hello,
    I don't know if this is done by design, but after I released our internal newspaper build on Flex, the number one complaint I received was that when zooming in, the space between the letter was not consistent and in some of the words, the letter are either too far spaced or glued to each other.
    I build a little test app to demonstrate what I mean.
    I will first post the results and then the code.
    First here is a snapshot of text at scale 1: Everything looks great
    Now, here is the same text at scale 1.5: (I only scale x and y, it never occur to me at first that I should use z as well)
    Notice how crisp the text is but the downside are the distorded words: I highlighted a few in yellow.
    So then I figured I give a shot to the z axis and scale that one as well: to my satisfaction the words keep their spacing but the crispiness of the text, not so good!

    Is there a way to get the best of both world? Even word sizing, with crisp text?

    I can use mobile skins for RichText and RichEditableText components for desktop and web projects, but there is a little problem. They have no mobile skins and they are paradoxically not recomended by adobe to use within mobile projects, because they are heavy. But they work great even if they are scaled. Do you still think that this is not a bug?

  • Registered Phone Display and Accessibility Issue

    Hello,
    I have 3 servers in my voice CUCM cluster 1 pub +  2 subs.
    Whenever I go to 2nd subscriber and look for my phones , there is an error while accessing all those.
    Firstly , the status logo is not normal and secondly, when I try to access that phone there is an error saying
    "Unmapped Exception /user/local/cm/db/xml/xml/Phone_xxxx_SIP_display_instance.xml (No such file or directory)"
    I am also attaching the screen shots of the error messages.
    I am using CUCM - - System version: 8.5.1.10000-26.

    Hi
    I would ensure that you have the same device pack/locales and other installed files on all your CUCMs.
    Then try restarting Tomcat if you have not done so already (utils service restart Cisco Tomcat).
    Perhaps also try running 'run loadxml' from the CLI.

  • BB Flip External Display Caller Notification Issue

    Hello-
    I have owned this phone for approximately two weeks; and until today it was working perfectly. As of today the external display is no longer working for "caller ID" or incoming call notification. The temporary fix was to disable the "auto answer" function for convenience, although this does not truly solve the problem.
    The question is how can I restore the external display as it was working prior to today with the display of "caller ID" incoming call notification? Incoming emails, SMS previews; continue to work properly on the external display, and the issue appears to be isolated to incoming call notification.
    Is this a bug with the device, or is their a fix to the problem?
    Any help or guidance greatly appreciated.

  • WebI issue with hierarchy display and aggregation

    Trying to wrangle what looks like a defect in WebI's handling of hierarchy display and aggregation. We just completed an update cycle and are running BOBJ 4.1 SP4.
    The hierarchy is a standard FM Commitment Item hierarchy in which both the nodes and leaves are Commitment Items (i.e. it uses InfoObject nodes, not text nodes). An example of one of these nodes looks like this in BW:
    Cmmt_Item A - Node
        Cmmt_Item B - Leaf
        Cmmt_Item C - Leaf
    Let's pretend Commitment Item A has $50 posted to it, B has $20 and C has $30. Analysis for OLAP handles this by adding a virtual leaf line to distinguish postings that are on the parent node like so:
    Cmmt_Item A - Node       $100
        Cmmt_Item A - Leaf    $50
        Cmmt_Item B - Leaf    $20
        Cmmt_Item C - Leaf    $30
    So you see both the total for the node ($100) and a line for each Commitment Items with KFs posted to them. Our users like this. They can easily see the aggregation and the breakdown.
    WebI, on the other hand, will display it like this:
    Cmmt_Item A - Node       $150
        Cmmt_Item B - Leaf    $20
        Cmmt_Item C - Leaf    $30
    It doesn't create a separate line for the value of the parent node, but it does add it's value into the aggregate. Twice. Modifying the table with the 'avoid duplicate row aggregation' checkbox yields output like this:
    Cmmt_Item A - Node       $100
    Cmmt_Item A - Node        $50
        Cmmt_Item B - Leaf    $20
        Cmmt_Item C - Leaf    $30
    We're about halfway there. While the top row now shows the correct aggregation and it creates a new line to show the distinct amount on the parent node, that new line appears on the same level as the parent. It's no longer clear that there's an aggregate and a breakdown. And attempting to expand or contract a node will now crash the report with one of those 'Error 16' messages.
    Has anyone encountered this issue with hierarchies in WebI? This report was built from scratch in 4.1, so I'm not sure if this affects older versions or not. Or if it would affect any hierarchy that uses InfoObject nodes instead of text nodes.

    Without a fix, the simplest workaround I can think of would be to restructure the hierarchy. It can't use postable nodes, so Cmmt_Item A  - Node from my example would need to be converted into a text node and the postable characteristic added as a child on the same level as the B and C leaves.
    This looks like it would affect anyone using hierarchies with postable nodes in a WebI report.
    Another oddity in WebI's behavior here - even though the postable nodes show incorrect sums the sum at the root node is correct. So extending my examples from the original post:

            Cmmt_Item C - Leaf    $30

Upgraded HD to Yosemite and was able to boot another mini from HD mounted in external enclosure, reinstalled HD still no boot. Any ideas on how to proceed appreciated.

    Call the store on the telephne and ask. However, I doubt it since a store would not normally have an item with non-USA features

    Well!
    If you have ThunderBolt, I would go with such for an External Working Drive, spinning platter or SSD depending on your budget
    This does not have to be huge just big enough to house your most current Jobs
    Once the Current Job is put to rest I would move it to a larger multi bay hard drive unit, USB or FireWire nothing fancy, no RAID, set up as one single Disk
    This would only be accessed when something is needed from a past Job so the connection does not have to be speedy
    The Drobo would be relegated to Vaults and backups
    You can set up a Vault on the Drobo to back up the External Working Library and then Reconnect it when you have moved the Library over to the other Enclosure
    This has worked for me pretty smoothly for a long while, but I have found over the years that one can not assume all people work in the same manner! :-)
