I bought Lion from App Store recently and installed it successfully on my MBP. After few days when I left my machine running Lion from morning till evening I see a thin green line on the left side of the screen. I tried searching the web and tried few options like restarting the machine, resetting NVRAM and doing Apple hardware test (By pressing D while the machine boots). The Apple hardware test did not detect any problem. The green line still exists.
Please suggest me how to get rid of green line.

    Hi Brent,
I took it to apple service center. They did some checks and found out that the display has gone bad and they replced it with new one.
Did you try connecting other display (may be Apple Display or Dell monitor) using an adapter?  In my case the Apple service center people tried doing it and the display was appearing just fine without any green line. So the fault was in my MBP display.

  • Selection Tool off by 1 pixel on the left side in CS4?

Having a bit of an annoying problem with the selection tool in CS4. If I open a document, say 500px x 500px, and "select all", the marquee tool will appear to leave 1 pixel of space on the left side of the composition. If I manually select an area, it will appear to be offset by 1 pixel. If I hit delete, the entire 500px x 500px canvas will be deleted and will not leave the remaining 1px on the left side even though it appears as if it would. If I zoom in as close as I can, the selection tool appears to cover the entire canvas. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire Master Collection and the problem is still there. I do a lot of web design where being pixel perfect is important and I could forsee this being a quite a pain. Anyone else experincing this? Really happy with the new CS4 this is the only real problem I've encountered.

Hi, I'm going to open this up again... I was hoping for a "it was a bug that was fixed - going to be fixed" kind of thing. This is the second time on 2 different Mac's that this has happened to me.
I too get the 1 pixel shift in the Marching ants, and as it may not be detrimental, it is - as most designers will agree - incredibly bothersome and ruins the flow of a project.
I've attached my system specs in hopes that someone from Adobe can say, "Oh, it's because of this, and we're working on it" Until then, maybe someone can tell me that the OpenGL options aren't really necessary, or needed for anything other than 3D.
    Other Specs: Photoshop CS4 11.0.1
    Thanks in advance!

  • Does LPX fully support retina displays or is there still pixelation issues?

I've been using LP9 for a while now and recently upgraded to the retina display macbook pro which displayed quite a lot of pixelation in LP9. Does LPX fully support retina screens?

There is an Apple document which specifies that key 1 should be used for WEP configuration and recommends using WPA or WPA2 for wireless security: iPad: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections. It's too bad that you didn't find this when you had problems.
The iPad will work with WPA-TKIP or WPA2-AES. AES provides much stronger security. There is much misinformation on the Internet on this subject.
WEP is insecure, obsolete and has been deprecated by the IEEE since 2004. There is no chance that Apple or anyone else will waste resources on enhancing WEP implementations. For more information on the tattered history and vulnerabilities of WEP read this: WEP - Wired Equivalent Privacy
I'm glad to hear that you got your system working. Your post was well-written and might help someone else.

  • MSI GE70 Apache Pro death pixels!!!

Hi I found on my 6 months old laptop a death pixel plus 2 gray pixels.. I try some fix for that but nothing happened.. I read MSI policy about that but in this is only saying for TFT technology.. But GE70 have LED technology so I want to know how much death or any others pixel I need have for repair under the warranty.. Thanks for reply :-)

I think the rule is the same, but you can check with MSI.
LCD  (Liquid Crystal Display) Screen Bad Pixel Policy:
All notebook displays use TFT* technology, manufactured according to high industry standards, to guarantee trouble-free personal computing. Nevertheless, your display may have cosmetic imperfection that appears as small bright or dark spots. This is common to all LCD displays and cannot be avoided by any of our models. These imperfections are caused by one or more defective pixels or sub-pixels. MSI follows the common bad pixel policy from the industry.
Following the industry standard, MSI warrants a defective LCD display as having 5 or more bad pixels*. It's required that users to contact the original , or MSI within 30 days from the invoice date for a replacement.
    * 5 abnormal pixels for 14" or smaller LCD display and 7 abnormal pixels for 15" or larger LCD display.

On 11in Macbook Air (10.10), how do I increase resolution of built-in display to 2560 by 1600 pixels?
It can be accomplished when an external display is connected, so I expect it can be done without an external display.

You're getting full native resolution 1366 x 768 on your internal display, nothing more.

  • Death Pixel Line when I toch the screen.

Yesterday I noticed that when I toch the left side of my screen, just in the middle part a line about a pixel size apears from side to side in my screen.
its just a white line crossing all over my monitor, and if I do not press it its just fine.
    What can that be?

Recently both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause an issue like that. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

  • IE 8 cropping one pixel of left side of Flash

I have a mysterious problem with Flash in Internet Explorer 8.
We have previously been using the code listed below to center Flash campaign sites on the page. The page did not have any doctype declared (not pretty, I know), but it worked fine across all browsers...
Then came IE 8. Suddenly 1px of the left side of the Flash/SWF is cropped of. I found that adding a doctype to the page fixed the problem, but that caused the content to no longer center vertically (in some browsers).
If I replace the Flash with a simple JPG image, it displays correctly - so this is related to the #¤%@ SWF / IE8 combo.
What are you guys using for centering your sites?
    Some observations
    Without doctype declared:
Works in Firefox, and IE 7
IE 8 and IE 8 in compatibility mode crops 1 pixel from left side
    With HTML 4.1 Transitional doctype:
Is not vertically centered in IE 8 compatibility mode, IE 7 or Firefox
IE 8 in compatibility crops 1 pixel from left side
    With XHTML 1.0 Transitional doctype:
    Works in IE 8
Is not vertically centered in IE 8 compatibility mode, IE 7 or Firefox
    The code causing the problem

Well, I found MY problem. It was a center tag. I had <center></center> around my Flash movie. So I put it in a table and now it's works. I looked over your code, but I don't see a center tag so maybe this won't help you. You did help me to fix mine so if I can help in any way let me know.
Update: I noticed that you centered your data cell, maybe you could try centering the whole table.

  • The website is not centered in the middle of my screen, right side is gone and left side is white. Only in safetymode the screen is centered in the middle

Websites are dislayed in the middle of the screen. Half the website is gone on the right side. on the left side it is white. Only when i startup in safetymode the websites are displayed in the center of the screen

When going to a website the picture was small - tried changing the Zoom size , tried Zoom Reset - the text did change size but the layout distorts - found under View - Zoom - Zoom Text Only was checked --- Removed this check mark and the website returned to normal size and Zoom worked normally again. I am 99.9999% sure I did NOT check this myself and there is no one else on the computer to cause it. Maybe this will help.
