  • Db12 archiving directory status is displayed "unkown"

    hi,
db12 archiving directory status is displayed "unkown"
    but some systems display well.
    what do I check?
    thanks

    Hi Lee,
You can try by refreshing the db12 screen, by press F8.  Also please check the directory permission, your "SIDadm" should be able to ready the filesystem, probably you have have to give dba group access to "SIDadm".
    hope this helps.

  • DB12 not showing archive directory status.

    hi,
We are having SAP ECC 6.0 production server on Microsoft cluster.
in st06 I am able to see the free space status on each disk.
but when I check the archive dir status in DB12
    status of archive directory:
    free space (KB):Unknown
    kindly suggest.
    thanks& reg,

Please review OSS note 536954, which describes the setup of a separate cluster resource that DB12 will use.  You may also need to review 657999 for DB13 operations.

  • Archiving Directory Status Unknown in DB12

    Hello All,
As we try to check the available space in Archiving Directory from DB12 it pops up saying "Unknown", I see that SAPOSCOL is running fine as all the statistics are getting updated in ST06 and as well Checked in OS07 it has the same name as in AL15.
Can some one tell me how to fix this, I have not tried restarting the SAPOSCOL from OS. Please some let me know how to fix this.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Cheers,
    Sai

    Hi Sudhir,
In our case restarting the SAPOSCOl solve the problem.
Please consider also to upgrade your SAPOSCOL version.

  • Archiving directory:unknown

    Hi SAP Basis Guru,
In procuction system R/3 Enterprise, through accessing transaction db12, when clicking on Redo log backup-archive directory status then showing "unkown".
    Please help.
    Dilip

    Hi SBK,
At os level permission of saparch is set to full.
When we try to click archive director status, it takes the path /oracle/P01/saparch/P01arch and showing status unknown and permission for both saparch and P01arch is full.
We can see the contents of other file through AL11, but path /oracle/P01/saparch and /oracle/P01/saparch/P01arch is not there(configured) in AL11.
    Please suggest.

  • Directory Status on Login window slow to go green but not on Airport!

    Dear everyone,
I have a 10.6.2 server with a mix of 10.5 and 10.6 clients on a Gigabit LAN and some on Airpot 802.11n wireless.
I like to display the Directory Status at the login screen but the computers on the wired Gigabit LAN can take about 60-120 seconds for the Directory Status to go green with the message network accounts are unavailable whereas the Airport clients are on immediately.
I have tested this on a Gigabit Netgear Swtich and a Gigabit 3Com Swtich. The Airport Base Stations are plugged into the same switch as the wired clients. I am not using Link Aggregation on any of the servers or computers.
It is just annoying that it is soo much slower than the wireless, it does not really affect anything, people just wait a bit.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks,
    David Lee

    Hi again Foilpan,
The computers are a mix of workstations, some are laptops, imacs and MacPros. The MacPros only have Ethernet and it is at the top of the list. Funny that the wireless iMacs and MacBook Pros get their green light before the wired. They are all on the same LAN in the same subnet being served by the same DHCP and DNS servers!
    I can't work it out!
    Ta,
    David Lee

  • Status of archiving directory - Problem in T-Code - DB12

    Hello Gurus,
in our server while we are run T-code - DB12 it gives us this following error
    - Status of archiving directory - unknown
Status of SAPOSCOL is in running mode
in bottom Status Bar  it is given
    Show_directory_fill_status: function call control_perf_failed, return code 13
Can anybody give me the rectification
    Thanks & Regards
    Shishir

    Hi Shishir,
Though SAPOSCOL is running, the function call could have failed for several reasons. You could look into SM21 or ST22 for details of its failure.
The other way to check the status of the archive directory is to go to OS level and check the space for that filesystem.
    cd /oracle/<DBSID>/oraarch
    df .

  • Display archived IDOCs in transaction WE10 - click on IDOC number

    Hi experts,
If you run transaction WE10 and display IDOCs not archived (from the database), from the list of IDOCs you can click on the IDOC number and then go to the screen that displays the IDOC information (Control, Data and Status records).
However, if you run WE10 with archived IDOCs (Data Source is archive), you get to see the list of IDOCs but when you click on the IDOC number it doesn't go to another screen showing you the IDOC information but it stays on the same screen.
Is this expected behaviour? I have had a looked at the OSS and Internet Search and there is no reference to this behaviour.
Many thanks for your help in advanced.

    Hi Jurgen,
Thanks for moving my post to the correct space.
Our Auth team is very confident that this is not a user auth issue. This could possibly be true because the idoc data resides on the following tables when in the database (before archive) - EDIDC, EDID4 & EDIDS. The idoc could then be viewed via transaction WE02 or the Data Browser (SE16). There is no EDIDD table in our ERP system so obviously no authorization object to assign to.
Once the idoc is archived, the data is removed from the ERP tables and moved to our archive database/server for storage. So when trying to view the archived record, the system does not access the ERP tables but rather the archive directory (that it's mapped to in settings). I assume the SARA transaction merely displays the data in the same segments/grouping with these table names (mentioned above in my first post) but instead of EDID4 it displays EDIDD.
According to the error longtext, "The check performed when data is read from the archive is the same as that of the Data Browser (transaction SE16)". So I was not involved with setting up our archiving procedure but could it be that table EDID4 was incorrectly mapped to table EDIDD in archives?

  • Cannot display archived idoc data records in SARA

    Hello,
In our ERP system, we regularly archive idocs older than 6 months. To view these archived idocs I use transaction SARA (with archive object IDOC and infostructure SAP_IDOC_001) to search for the relevant idoc that has been archived. Once the idoc is displayed, I drill down further by clicking the magnify glass button which then displays the idoc levels:
    EDIDC               Control record (IDoc)
    EDIDD               Data record (IDoc)
    EDIDS               Status Record (IDoc)
SRL_ARLNK      SREL: Archive Structure for Links
When I try to view the Data Records, I get a message saying "You are not authorized to display table EDIDD". According to our Authorizations department, this is not an Auth issue but rather config setup or program issue.
Why can't I view the archived idoc data records? Is there another way to view archived idoc data?
    Regards,
    Fawaaz

  • Archive directory memory

    Hi,
I have to check arch. directory staus in DB12, but it is showing only free space availble. Where can i find the total size of archive directory memory. Is there  any parameter. I dont have access to OS, Please give me suggestions at R3 level.
    Thank you

    RKV
You can configure AL11 to show any directory path on your servers. You can see the contents and the size as well.
Click on configure botton in AL11 and set up the path and name and save it. It will appear in the AL11 front screen. There if you douvle click you will be able to see the size and contents of any valid path in the system.
Note This facility is not there for older versions. It is there for ECC5.0.
    Hope that helps. Thanks
Please get back if you have some queries on this.

Is there any t code in SAP to display archived shipping data (like for archived billing dicuments vf07)
Your kind help would be highly appreciated.
    Thank you
    Rajendra Prasad

    Hi Rajendra,
Whats your SAP version? VT03n supports display of archived data from 4.7onwards. If you are in a lower version then i think you should use infostructures.
    Thanks,

    Hello,
Once shipment document is archived then you can't display by VT03N transaction. As you have pointed out SARI or SARE transaction will help in displaying the archived shipment documents from archive server. (you have to select Archiving object = SD_VTTK and Archive Infosturcture = Select from display option).
VF07 - Display archived billing document. We call this transaction VF07 as archived enable transaction.
I have gone through the OSS note 590656 mentioned by Eduardo Hinojosa, with this enanchment of VT03N (respective program) you should be able to display archived shipment document. This Oss note should help you.
let me know if required further clarification on this.

  • How to monitor available disk space in archive directory

I need to monitor the available disk space of the archive directory during a long running PL/SQL program which does a lot of inserts and updates. This program is running in a background session and should regularly check for the available space. If there is less then a customizable number of MBs free the program must terminate itself. How can I access this information from the file system? (I'm using 8.1.6 and the application will run on both AIX and NT)

The directory itself is not taking space (It actually does but in most cases you can neglect its size). It is files that it has that take space. Also, the more files you create the more space gets allocates from the media that holds them. And the last, the media (Hard Drive, Floppy, or other) has free space, not directory. That is how all OS's that I know about work.
