Display "Arrangement" option

The arrangement option on displays is no longer there. what do i do? running 10.6.8 OSX Only shows "Displays" & "Color"

Recently updated my MacBook (MB) (late 2009) OS from SL to Lion. With SL was able to connect to a projector no problem using the Optoma WPS-2. This device plugs into the projector's VGA port and uses wifi connection to communicate with the MB. Now what gets projected is simply the MB cursor on a black screen, and a trail of the cursor as it moves around the MB screen. Others have suggested going to the arrangement tab, to change to extended or mirror display - but no such luck.
This is what I get.
Any suggestions? Very frustrated and probably going to downgrade to SL. But that seems like such a hassle as well.

If you are having issues using an HDTV via HDMI as an external display to your MacBook Air, you may find the following article helpful:

(Note: You will generally only see the arrangement option in Displays when you are configured to use the external display in Extended Desktop mode; there is no arrangement in Mirroring as both screens are showing the same image.)

Extended Desktop - no Arrangement option?

Hi there everybody!
I'm a new mac user - just got an iBook G4 w/OS X 10.4. I have an Apple Studio Display (an old one I was actually using with a PC) that I'd like to extend my desktop to. I checked out the Mac Help and it told me to "Go To System Preferences -> Display and click on Arrangement and follow the instructions there." So, I went to System Preferences -> Display, but there's no Arrangement option! I've looked everywhere on that screen
Apologies if I'm totally missing something obvious, but does anybody know how to get extended desktop working in this situation?

As the specs say, iBooks are only capable of showing the same content on the internal and external monitor, so arrangement doesn't apply and the option isn't available. You'd need a PowerBook to do extended desktop.
(Actually, I think a hack exists to enable extended desktop on an iBook, but it's totally unsupported and I don't know where to get it. You might be able to find the hack by searching here or with Google over the Web in general.)

Display arrangement behaves strangely

I have a Macbook Pro with 2 1280x1024 monitors attached, one with a DVI out cable and one with a DisplayLink adapter via USB. All seems to work fine for most arrangements, however in the display arrangement gui ins system preferences I am getting an inconsistent result. When I try and put the laptop screen beneath the DVI attached monitor and set the dock to be on the DVI monitor, it actually appears in reality on the laptop screen. If I move it under the other monitor it works fine.
So I am getting a different result to what is being displayed in the arrangement window

Desktop?
Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Re-launch Finder by restarting and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

How to Disable "Auto Align" in [System Pref.] - [Display] - [Arrangement]

Does anyone know How to Disable "Auto Align" in [System Preferences] -> [Display] -> [Arrangement]?
It always want to align the two screens from the top when they are lined up close together and I need them to be aligned from the bottom. Since the resolution heights are so close together (1080 & 1050) it does not allow one to align side by side from the bottom as it prioritizes top alignment.
I guess I'm looking for a script to disable this feature.

Anyone got any ideas?

How do I get my laptop to remember different display arrangements for different external monitors?

I have a couple of different places where I work, and in both places there is an external monitor. As it turns out, the external monitor is on the left in one place and on the right in the other. They are different monitors, too (one's an old dell and one's a mac monitor). I remember in previous versions of Mac OS X, my MacBook would remember the display arrangement depending on which monitor was connected, and place my secondary desktop on the correct side. In Mavericks, it seems to maintain the arrangement from the last place that I changed it.
What this means is rather than my computer remembering where my external monitor should be, I have to change the arrangement of my monitors every time I switch desks.
Is this a feature that Apple removed from Mavericks? Was I imagining things in older versions of OSX?

24" Imac only showing 2 display resolution options

Within the past week something changed after running a Mac software update that resulted in only having 2 display resolution options. The display choices now are limited to 1900 X 1200 and 960 X 600. I think this happened after having a Mac software update. I don't know what the updates were other then they were suggested as part of the automatic software updates check.
Running OS X Lion version 10.7.4.
Graphics = NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 128 MB.
I have rebooted and checked for additional updates put still only seeing 2 choices.
Is anyone else having this problem or ideas why all the other resolution options disappeared?

Thanks for quick response. I looked as suggested but those listed are older issues and not recent new events. I guess I will sit back and see if there is a new update coming that fixes issue. Really madding not being able to re-set resolution to one that I have been using for years.
If anyone else knows background/input on why resolution options would go from at least if not more then 10 to now only having 2 would be great.

OWA will not display Options Display All Options

We upgraded Exchange 2010 to SP3 the other day.
OWA Users are not able to select OPTIONS > Display All options.
The browser just reloads and displays no additional options.
Thi shas been tested with Chrome, IE , Mac, Win 7 and Win 8.
All with the same outcome!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?

Have you tried to recreate the OWA virtual directory?
If you haven't, please try to recreate the OWA virtual directory to check result.
If the issue persists, please check the application log to see if there is any related error message.
Please check if Outlook Web App is running in the Light Version.
Besides, please check the setup log and make sure you upgrade to SP3 successfully.

HT2905 Where is the Display Duplicates option in iTunes 11?

I just downloaded iTunes 11 and notice that the "display duplicates" option is not available in the Music Library. Why?

Two Windows scripts to make playlists of Duplicates and Exact Duplicates. Use shift-delete to remove selected tracks from the library as well as the playlist.

Display arrangement hot keys

i have the original macbook unibody late 2008. my display has gone and until recently i have been using my tv as a display. had to reboot the machine and now the display arrangement has gone back to default and i the comman + F1 hotkey doesnt seem to do the trick or re-arrnging the display. what can i do as i have a new machine now and need all the data from the last one??

Mavericks forgetting my display arrangement

I have a MacBook Pro with three external displays - two of which are connected via USB/DisplayLink adapter. Since upgrading to Mavericks, my system forgets the display arrangement every time I reboot. It defaults back to "mirroring" which I have to fix and then the order of the monitors is wrong which I also have to fix. This is quite annoying.
On top of that, I have the issues that others have mentioned - screen flickering when opening the Mail application, lagging mouse pointer, etc.
According to DisplayLink, this needs to be fixed in an OSX update. Does anyone know if there are plans for this and/or is there a workaround?
(and yes, I do have the new beta driver for DisplayLink)

Hello everyone,
While I fear everyone may have moved on to the ten grand can by this point, I am still trying to get this issue with the older Mac Pro resolved. I have some exciting news for you all!
About a week ago, I had had enough, so I unplugged my Mac Pro, and carried it 10 blocks down to the Apple Store in Charleston, SC, where I was graciously greeted by the genius team whom I had previously spoke to about the problem. We did some testing in the store and were in fact able to replicate the problem. The genius spent some time looking through Apple's logs of cases and support documentation, but was unable to find anything relating to this issue. The next step he then told me, was to escalate the issue to the engineering department. I was told I would hear a response back in about a week. To my amazement, it was less than 48 hours later. I got a call from the same guy at the local Apple store. He told me that he spoke to the engineering team and said this, "this is a software or firmware bug that has recently been brought to light. The issue is related to the order in which the displays are powered on/brought out of sleep." I was told the best thing for me to do next, was to head over to apple.com/feedback and fill out a software bug feature request. I did so, and I would suggest that all of you, still have this issue do the same as well!
I will certainly keep you all informed of any further developments.

Internal error occurred when displaying enhancement options

Hi All,
I am having an Error - "Internal error occurred when displaying enhancement options" (Message no. ED294) when trying to click on to the "Show Implicit Enhancement Option" inside the Edit > Enhancement Operation in SE37 TCode while Enhancing the FM : QAPP_CUST_IP_F4 in ECC 6.0 environment. For this error I am unable to go ahead with the enhancement process.
I have applied OSS Note 951293, but in vain. Pls help!
