Display battle: Are these compatible?

Hi, this is a quick question, but I just want to know, would a Mac Pro would have any issues with any of these displays?
Is Apple's $1799 30" HD Cinema Display significantly better quality than either of these to justify its much higher price tag?

I haven't done the specific connection you're asking about (haven't owned an iMac), and I am not sure which iMac G5 you have, but I am looking at the Tech Specs for the iMac G5 with iSight (not sure if that is the model you have) and it seems to say that you can't do what you want. It says it has a VGA port for mirroring only, no extended desktop. It doesn't look like the iMac supported extended desktop until they were well into the Intel iMacs. I understand that there is an unsupported, non-Apple hack to enable extended desktop on the iMac G5, but I know nothing about using it.
The monitor you would pick depends on whether your specific iMac's tech specs says VGA, DVI, or both. If it only did VGA, for example, then you could only buy a VGA monitor, up to the max resolution that your iMac's specs say.
I don't have an opinion on the new 24" iMac glass, but what I have read is that if you are going to get a new iMac, that is the screen to get. The 20" screen is supposed to be noticeably inferior. As for the gloss, it shouldn't bother anyone who's ever edited photos on a CRT with its glossy surface, some say it's fine because they have positioned the screen so that there are no bright lights or windows reflected in it, but this seems to be a very personal issue and some hate the gloss anyway.
There are definitely a lot of people who love their iMac + second monitor setups.

Update: my Firebox arrived last night, and my Firewire 400-to-800 adapter arrived today so I had the chance to hook things up and give it a try. I didn't break out the mics, but as a direct interface for my Tele, it seems to work great, even bus-powered without using the wall wart. I plan on pulling out a couple condenser mics tomorrow and do some test recordings of acoustic stuff.

SATA is SATA.
Apple introduced GPT (GUID) years ago to support 2TB and larger (default partition scheme).
SATA III is also backward compatible with SATA II (otherwise, who would Seagate have to sell to?)
The only issues have been with green drives, using green version for RAID or for performance purposes.

Are these cameras compatible with FCP?

Does anyone out there know if any of these cameras is compatible with Final Cut Pro 5/6? It's not listed on the compatibility list, but I have a hard time believing Sony or Panasonic would make any camcorders that are not compatible with FCP these days. The qualifying devices list is not a good standard to judge by. There are many "devices" that work fine and aren't listed, and conversely, devices that are listed but may not function if the user is also using a certain third-party device; for example, certain listed Canons may indeed work well with FCS2, but attach an external drive to the same FireWire bus and it all goes fubar.

I know the one's on the Apple site are compatible but these are cheaper. Are they the same thing or are these made for PC, since NewEgg sells PC stuff?

The detailed description says it just connects with a mini-stereo jack connector, so it should work. They are like any other external power speakers. Just plug it in to the audio output port in the back, like you would plug in headphones.
The older original Sound Sticks connected using USB (if I remember correctly), and those may or may not be compatible with the latest Macs and Mac OS X version. But these are the "II" model with a regular connector, so it should be fine.

The eBay site does not show you the actual CD. So there is no way to tell if you will be getting the universal or machine specific CDs.
All universal full install CDs are white w/an orange/golden 9.x on it.
I forgot what color the universal OS 10.1 installers were if there were such a thing. A more knowledgeable user will need to confirm as I am new to the Cat Systems.
Do NOT buy a gray installation CD - those are not universal installers but model-specific [NO matter what the seller says about them!] OEM-versions have caused problems in the past when used on other computer models.
If I were you, I would contact the ebay seller & ask what color the Installer CDs are or you can check out the following links. I am not sure if they are all still good.

How can I get past the error message "Variables are not compatible DMB00"?

I'm working in Desktop Intelligence XI and I'm using an Excel data provider and a universe data provider. I've linked the two providers on the common field "Cost_Code". The Excel data provider also has a "Cost_Code_Descr_xls" field so I've created a new variable that makes this description field a detail object associated with the "Cost_Code" dimension. This allows me to use both objects in the report.
Some of the cost codes in my universe data provider are not found in my cost_code Excel provider so I'm trying to create a simple formula to deal with these null values:
= if isnull(<Cost_Code_Descr_xls>) then "Unclassified" else <Cost_Code_Descr_xls>
This is where I get the "Variables are not compatible" error.
Any ideas on how to get around this error?

Hi David,
I might have been a bit to quick with just saying that the only thing you needed to do was replacing the object with the variable you created.
The variable is only compatible with 'Cost Code' dimension, but not with any of the other dimensions in the report. Your header probably only contains the 'Cost Code' dimension and as such the formula isn't giving any problems. But your details contain ohter incompatible dimensions.
What you need to do is also create detail variables for the other dimensions and relate those to the 'Cost Code' dimension. Use those newly created detail variables in your report.

What else can I do?

Therefore I introduced MDM-WebService into NW and defined it on VC.
but "searchRecords" of "MDMSearchRecords" was displayed with "Not supported"
in the right frame .

So I decided to think from a beginning.

the earbuds supplied by Apple for the iPhone5 are of superb technology. I want to maintain them. The problem is with my ears which do not keep those earbuds in place. (there are many people with that preblem). I wonder whether there is something that could adapt these earbuds to ears such as mine (and thousads other)
