Display BEx query in iFrame (non portal)?

Hi,
We're currently having trouble displaying a BEx query URL in an iFrame outside of the portal.   Meaning, we have a different application web server that is attempting to point to the URL from the SAP server.
When we simply paste the URL in the web browser, it's not a problem; so the URL is ok.   However, when we include the URL in an iFrame, the portal login screen appears, but soon after you log in, the page loops infinitely through the same request and never gets to the intended page.
Has anyone run into a solution for this situation?
Thanks

  • Publishing a BEx Query reports from BI Portal to Main portal

    Hi,
We have 2 portals in out landscape.
BI system has its own portal and the main portal for the commercial users.
I have a requirement to bring BEx query Reports to Main portal.
I am wondering, how this can be done.
    Thanks
    Sam

    Hi vel,
    1. You can connect BW/BI system with your portal.
    2. Create BEx iview (7.0) from iview templates.
    3. Then display report on portal.
Feel free to update me as per your findings.

  • Bex Query designer withour Enterprise Portal?

    Dear BW experts,
After launching the Bex Query designer with BI7 system. After designing query, If I click on execute (Ctrl+R). It is launching internet explorer with error "Invalid Syntax error - Page cannot be displayed"
It is launching the following URL
    http:///irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?QUERY=ZCCQ20071048070001&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1
I think it is looking for Enteprise Portal server. I dont have an EP server.
What is the alternate way to execute this?
    Thanks in Advance...

    Hello to all of you,
just to make sure that I do not missunderstand:
As far as I know in BW3.5 (without EP installed) you were able to execute a query directly out of the query designer and it was shown as a web-query.
Now I tried to do the same with a BI7-System the first time and I get the same symptom as Abdullah. We also do not have an EP installed on that system.
As solution, you all describe that I have to open the query in analyzer to see it in excel - OK - BUT if I do not want to see it in excel but as a webquery (like in my good old BW3.5) instead ? Isn't that possible anymore ???

  • Display Bex Query in Web

    Hi,
I want to display the Bex query directly in web. What are the possible ways that i can do, for the user to view the report in the web.Can anyone tell me how to configure RRMX in this case or how to do the settings for user to navigate from user menu to the required BW report directly from the SAP work bench.?I have tried linking from User Menu where the java servlets blocking the navigation.? Do i need to follow any configuration for this too?
    Thank You,
Edited by: sunanda G on Feb 28, 2011 9:59 AM

    Hi,
There are multiple ways to display the query in Web:
->Web Analyzer: In the query designer you need to click on the web symbol it will take you to run the query in web in the explorer. For this your server need to be setup contact your basis team for the same.
->WAD: After creating a query, you can display the same using Web application designer. Here you need to check the Java Settings to be installed.
->EP: You can copy the link generated from the query can be copied and displayed in the Enterprise portal.
There is a search option available in the SDN , you can search for more information regarding the same.
    Hope this helps...

  • How to set default Web Template for BEx Query iViews in BI Portal?

    Hi,
    1) In SPRO you can set the Standard Web Template used, e.g. ZANALYSIS_PATTERN1.
    2) I published a query to Portal and when it runs within Portal, I want it to use a different web template, say ZANALYSIS_PATTERN2.
I don't want to change the BEx Web Application Query String property for each iView to hardcode the template e.g. to "QUERY=TestQuery1&TEMPLATE=ZANALYSIS_PATTERN2"
I only want the query name in the iView
Can I set this somewhere in Portal? I tried changing the standard "BEx Web Analyzer" iView as mentioned in
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/33/39fa40ee14f26fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm (BEx Web Application or Query as iView in the Portal)
but it still seems to take the template from SPRO even after restarting J2EE
(I just published this question in Portal forum but I think it belongs here instead since it is BI Portal - apologies for the double-post..)

D Nore did you found the way to do it ?
I still have the issue, whatever the place where I force the template, the queries on the portal does not use my specific template.
    I tried :
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bexwebanalyzer
(this one was working before upgrade to netweaver stack 17).
    as well as
    pcd:portal_content/templates/iviews/sap_bw_report_iview
    and
    pcd:portal_content/templates/iviews/sap_bi7x_report_iview
    none works !

  • BEx Query designer : Execution and portal

    M.S

    Hi Michael,
The SAP Notes you are provided are very good. We are getting the URL link but I can not see the results in Internet explorer.
I am getting error the SAP Server can not be reached.
All though all settings are maintained in system, maintained server parameters in Sytstem32/hosts file, added the URL as trusted site & I am on IE 6. But nothing is working I can not see the results even the URL is generating. This is only problem with Development system, we are getting results for quality and prod system.

  • Re: BI BEx query in Portal

    Hi All,
My user wants me to develop a report which to be displayed in portal.
Kindly tell me what all the ways I can achieve this.
    Few questions,
    1. There is an option available in BEx query Designer publish to portal. How to use this. what will happen if i click that. where it will go. how to assign this to the portal user role.
    2. how to create an iview in portal for existing bi query?
    3. Iview, if i am creating an iview in portal using bi query. how to publish that to the user.
Pls give me a complete picture on the above needs.
    Regards,
    Anand.

    Hi,
If you have BEx poratl already available then there is no issue.
When you will click on that it will ask for iView creation and folder name then select the appropprite one. Just continue with that.
You need to have proper authorization for that.
You may refer following document for the same.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/80955d0f-ae67-2b10-35a3-c2efec2ba42c
    I hope it will help.

  • Bex query in Xcelsius

    Dear Xcelsius Experts,
Im having a trouble about displaying bex query data on xcelsius.
After adding a new connection i browsed my query then selected insert in area on excel.
I can see my kef figures on preview tab.On the usage tab refresh on load and use query data options are already checked.
Im also sure about my selectors (list box, combobox etc) data insertation done correctly.
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks
    Nil
    p.s:im using Xcelcius sp2

    Dear Nil,
If you pull the data from SAP BW using "SAP Netweaver BI connection",the whole set of data from SAP BW Query will be available through Cross Tab Data under "Output values" of "Definition" tab.So just Put one Spread sheet table or List View
item in the Workspace and simply map the Cross tab data into some Excel cells range and then map the same range of Excel cells into the Design component(Spread sheet table or List View). This will show the complete data (chars and KFs) which comes from SAP BW Query into the design component at runtime.
    Hope this helps you!

  • Which is better to use: BEx query or Web Application as an iView in portal?

    Hi gurus!
Are there any experienced opinions, which is better - publish a BEx query in portal or publish a BEx Web Application in portal? Is it easier to alter the layout attributes etc. if I create a BEx Web Application first before publishing?
What is the way of fixing for example filter item height if I publish BEx query in portal - is there a Web Application that it uses anyhow which I can fix? Or can I use in that case iView -properties in portal?
    Thankful for advice
    Sari

ok, means i can use jsp:useBean tag for all my
classes that are not actually bean. so it will be
instantiated at run time and provide efficiency .No. Jsp:useBean is used for java bean components.
    >
but when should i use import statement in my jsp and
it happen at translation time so will it create any
type of burden for my code if i import multiple
classes. For non-java beans, you need to import the classes, period.
    It's not a burden, it's a necessity.

  • BEX - Query Designer - Query Execution - IE "The page cannot be displayed'

    Hi ALL,
Trying to execute a query from BEx Query Designer, result needs to be displayed on Internet Explorer.
However, when IE pops up to show the result, it says 'The page cannot be displayed'.
It seems the PORT Number is wrong.
When I execute the RSPLAN the port number is 52300 (23 ASCS)  (and it works!!).
For this web query the port in URL is 55300 (53 SCS).
Could you help to configure the right port?
Something needs to be done on Basis side configurations?
    Thank you,

I have looked the services and hosts and the files has the sapgw<> and sapms<> right configured.

    Hi Arjun
Please check the SAP portal and BI system version and then check the compatibility for BEx Query in IE9.
Refer to http://service.sap.com/pam >> Click on SAP Netweaver version, here you can find the PDF files.
BI (BEX Web) is supported on IE9 with SAP porta version 7.0 SPS24 in vista or windows 7 if you SAP portal version is 7.0
