Chinese character display scrambled in iTune!
I have a folder containing mp4 files with some Chinese characters. When added to iTune, iTune will not display Chinese character correctly! What is the mechanism that allow iTune to display file names in different language? Should I edit the file properties? What do I edit? Please help! Thx!

I think I have a similar problem. Can you copy and paste how the songs look in iTunes, so I can compare?

Hi, I suppose it is because of the ID3 Tags being not properly read by itunes right? cos my Mac can display chinese no problems, specially it can display the mp3 files with it's chinese title in the Mac OS X Mountain Lion Finder no problem!
I have tried somethning called the "Unicode Rewriter", tried converting using Source Encoding as : Big5, Big5_HKSCS, Cp9xx, EUC_TW, ISO2022CN_CNS, MS950... everthing they had for Chinese Traditional Encoding... They all showed up in itunes in Chinese Characters after converison, but it is not the correct word... somethimes it changed even into Korean!
I read about ID3Mod2 but it costs 8US$, and I am not even sure it will work!?While the Unicode Rewriter is Free! but i dont understand why it didn't work though... it seem to be doing what it is suppose to, but just the encoding is maybe not the right one!?
Anybody experiencing the same type of problem and found a solution?
Thanks for your helpOh I forgot to mention that I'm using a straight cable as resource to the network. I do have access to the internet and some other networkdisks, But I can't access the main one, which is described above.
Thanks! -
I have a number of Chinese songs on my iPod that loaded from a Windows pc. Now, I am using MBA with iTunes and all song titles become garbage. I am using English version Leopard 10.5.2 and iTunes. Can someone advise how to configure it to display Chinese correctly. Thanks!
You probably need to fix the encoding of the ID3 tags. See if this note helps:

Display Chinese/Japanese Character
I upgraded my PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 recently, and after installing the latest iTunes 10.7.0.21, I notice that it cannot display chinese/japanese characters.
Is there any setting in iTunes or Windows to correct this?Have your tried googling your problem?
I found this article: [http://www.chinesecomputing.com/programming/java.html|http://www.chinesecomputing.com/programming/java.html] That seems promising, but ofcourse I cant tell if it will work on your application without seeing a shred of code.
Im certain there is others that has had the same problem before, and put up their solutions on the net. -
The Problem/s
1. I am unable to sync my iPhone 4S with my Mac Book Pro, either by cable, wifi or bluetooth
2. iTunes will initiall open and briefly identifies the iPhone in the Device section in iTunes.
3. When iTunes starts to read the iPhone (displaying the spinning wheel), it immediately then quits and
4. Opens a 'dialogue box' which displays the message "iTunes Quit Unexpectedly"
5 The dialoge box offers the following button options to:-
'Show Details'
The 'Show Details' button will open and display a list of the 'Problem Details and System Configeration'. To the average user the information is useless, as one doesn't know what to look for to solve the problem. This is a long and detailed report (too long to include in this message), which includes information such as:-
Crashed Thread: 20
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x00000000000006f0
'OK'
The 'Ok' button simply quits and closes the dialogue box
'Reopen'
The 'Reopen' button will again reopen iTunes, briefly showing that it is trying to read the iPhone in the Devices section, but then returns again to display the same dialogue box.
Other Information
1. iTunes will still start normally once the USB cable is removed from the Mac book Pro, but crashes again once the USB cable is reattached to the computer
Any advice or help offered would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely
Rob

How can i reveal the chinese on iTunes?
hey, thanks for your attention first, i have read alot on this topic before i have a post of my own. but none have come to a solution to my problem. so here it is, i'm using a MicrosoftXP OS, and i see the name of the file as 相逢(2chinese characters), but when i right click the music and select properties and on summary page the title shows "Ïà·ê" which is unreadable. When i put that music file into itune, it shows Ïà·ê instead of 相逢. i have this problem for quite some time.
if anyone wants to suggest me to go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/handson/user/xpintlsupp.mspx
it doesnt work. i have done everything there.
i even downloaded lots of trial version of chinese input programe. eg. njstar, chinese reader, etc.. these programes allows me to read chinese in itune but not really changing it, because when i plug my ipod on, the ipod still shows those unreadable letters..
Anyone have a solution to this? million thankz to the person that can help me. thank you very much on spending your time here.
Windows XP MSI motherboard.
Windows XPalright, i have read all the articles and all the solution given. it still doesnt work. i'm not sure why all my friends got his song nicely in chinese(the same file), whereas mine is in unreadable letters. I downloaded ConvertZ, and used it. the first one it says unable to convert and then the second time i manage to get it convert, however it convert to the same file as before and it still have the same problem. i think the problem for me in convertZ is that COnvertZ only convert the title, but not the composition in it. is there still any advise on how to get it fix?
here are my problem:
-the name of the file is 相逢(2chinese character).
-when i right click on the file and on summary page it shows that title is "Ïà·ê" and comment is "Mobile Suit GUNDAM¾ç³¡°æ ¢ó~".
-when i convert the file using convertZ it just changes the file name insteed of title. (itunes takes title instead of file name)
-i have enable the chinese language on my pc.
-but some chinese song on itune does appear.
thank you for all the help before. i dont think its anything to do with myipod or itune. it more like windows problem. but is there any help that i can reach to? thank you very much. more advise will be appreciated. -

Need help in Displaying Chinese Character in JSF
Hi. Good Morning!
I'm having problem with displaying Chinese Characters in JSF. I've tried placing all the chinese words in the *.properties file however it doesn't work..
The result in the browser is something like this.
     Hi,
When you say that you put Chinese characters in
*.properties files, can you be more specific? Did
you use native2ascii to convert the files to ASCII?
What is the character encoding setting for the JVM?
Have you sniffed the HTTP headers? If so, what's the
character encoding listed for the response?
Answers to these questions should help you nail down
the problem.
Regards,
PeterHi...
I did not use any converter like native to ascii... an example of what I placed in the properties file is:
title : 以下5种标签的表面要求列样
Request=条码离边框
Tablehead=透明标签
Note1= 透明标签
Note2= 透明标签
NoteA= 印商标图
then when i build the project in linux it turns out to be like this:
title= ???
Request=???
Tablehead=???
Note1= ???
Note2= ???
NoteA= ???
The character encoding for JVm.. i haven't check that yet nor know how... -
My 4th Gen iPod Nano isn't displaying a "Use iTunes to restore" message, but iTunes is displaying a restore message when I connect it. I have original music that I can't back up on my iPod. Is there any way that I can fix the iPod without restoring it?
It's not designed to work like this. When you sync, the iPod stores some information that basically says 'this iPod belongs to computer xyz'. Apple did this to prevent copyright issues (syncing someone else's music).
If you really want to do this, you'll have to at least tie both iTunes installations to the same account. Maybe have them sync with each other. -
Themes are not displayed correctly on iTunes 11
Chosen theme is not displayed on iTunes U, version 11 for some collections
See below for collection
https://itunes.apple.com/fr/itunes-u/prof.-yunus-conference-2012/id586627154?mt= 10
Should be displayed in black:
Preview is correct (but is displayed like in iTunes version 10):
But the real one is not correct (see below)Greetings firemansam101;
Unfortunatly there isn't a "fix" for this issue. User specific art work seems to have disappeared from iTunes U with the release of Version 11. I hope that in future versions of iTunes this feature will be restored.
All the best...

Podcasts not displayed correctly in iTunes or iPod
Some podcasts I subscribe to (but not all) are displayed in the "Library" section of iTunes as well as the "Podcasts" section. However, on my iPod, it is displayed only in the "Music" folder and not the "Podcasts" folder. How can I get all my podcasts to be correctly displayed both in iTunes and my iPod?
Thanks,
SteveWell considering no one replied. What I had to do was this.
Go under iPod in My Computer (as a device plugged in). Then make sure hidden folders are visible. Then search under the Ipod_Control folders for the titles of all the podcasts that were missing. I then deleted them and now have room back on my Ipod...thank you Itunes. -
