Display data from BLOB column.

Hi All,
I want to display data from blob datatype field, which contains HTML and GIF both files.
If I set it's property from file format IMAGE then i get data only gif.
if anybody have answer plz revert back...

Hi Juned
What I suggest is that you may have overlapping fields. One to show HTML and other to show GIF. You need to add one more column to your table in order identify if the BLOB is GIF or HTML.
In the Format Trigger of each of these two fields, inspect the value of flag column and hide one field if the datatype is not its type.
For instance, if flag field is 0 then hide Image field and show HTML field. If flag field is 1 then show Image field and hide HTML field.

Hey,I have an issue with the WEBI reporting.I have a data source that has multiple columns say ( month1, month2, month3, month4,.....month 12, month 13, ....month24) with the sales data for each month.Now say I call the month 1 to month 12 as "current year", and call month 13 - month 24 as "previous year".I want to put a prompt in the report which allows me to select between "current year" and "previous year".Based on the prompt value we get a graph of the sales vs month ....as in if we select "current year", then we get a graph of the sales Vs time( remember that the sales data for each month is in a different column.)and if we select "previous year" then we get a graph of the sales Vs time for previous year..( sales vs time for Month 13, month 14, month 15....month 24).I am not able to pull data from multiple columns into a single object that I can use to populate the graphs.Any help on the same will be appreciated .

Reading the data from BLOB column

HI,
I have a table with following structure
Test_Mail(Attachment BLOB,Attachmentname varchar2(255),FileSize number)
The data in the table is like
Attachment|Attachmentname|FileSize
BLOB|test.txt|1236
I wants to read the data from the BLOB attachment in to new file.
can any one help me in doing this with plsql??

How to display images from BLOB column via APEX 4.0

I did the following in order to display images of two Oracle records on the APEX page. I am using APEX Version : 4.0.1.00.03 , Oracle DB Version : 10.2.0.4.0.
1. Created An oracle table TEST_FORM
with 3 columns
( ID number, MIME_TYPE varchar2(255) , Image BLOB )
2. Inserted two records
10001, image/gif, ( actual image1)
10002, image/gif, ( actual image2)
3. created an Oracle procedure

step1. Created an interactive report on a new APEX page
step2. Specified the following in the Region Source

from TEST_FORM
The column result shows as <img src="CCS.show_my_form?p_image_id=#ID#" />
I am unable to display the column image as a link to a proper image photo.
Could you please advise me if I missed anything ?

Maybe the space you have before the ? is causing issues. there shouldn't be any space.
Your procedure looks to be much the same of one that I have.
Have you granted execute on your procedure?
Also, what version DB are you running? This could be another issue: http://daust.blogspot.com/2006/04/xe-calling-stored-procedures.html
But anyway, you don't need to create your own procedure these days. You could do the following:
in your query, have a column: dbms_lob.getlength(blob) photo ; save, then in column attributes for that column, apply a format mask. There is usually a link below the text box for the format mask - BLOB Download Format Mask, which will help you build the format mask. Problem Displaying image from blob

Hi all,
I m using,
Database : 10g Rel 2
Frontend : DevSuite 10g
OS : WinXp
Browser : IE 6
Problem : In my forms i m displaying images from blob column but some of the images are not displayed. I have tried with all image formats available in combination with all available display quality but no luck. What could be the reason for it and how do i solve it?
Can anyone help me plz?

It is very difficult for us to "guess" what images you can read and what others you cannot.
Maybe you could provide more information on images that are not displayed ?
What is their native format ?

How to upload/download file into/from blob column in ADF/JDev 11g.

Hello to all.
I found demo from Kuba user on that page: http://kuba.zilp.pl/?id=1
But that demo is for release 10g and too complicated for me for this time (I'm fish in Jdeveloper).
I can create some simple table view (of form view) with oracle connection with table with blob data.
Blob column will content doc/xls/pdf ...etc.
Now I can add two buttons for download and upload.
What I have to do in next time?
Is it possible to use some component or something?

I was able to accomplish downloading from a blob, but I'm trying to dynamically set the ContentType.
As the table may contain different types of files, I'm setting the ContentType to #{row.Fileext}, where Fileext is set in SQL select as follows:
pseudocode: get file extension, and set the content type based on file extension.

Thanks for the response, but the example you provided is more complex than I need. For example, I have a simple table accessed through ColdFusion. The table has one filed with 7 records. I need a flex page to display that data in DataGrid, ComboBox and List controls. The Datagrid displays the 7 records but the ComboBox and List are blank. How do I get the values from the database to display in the BomboBox and List controls?

How can I Move data from one column to another in my access table?

I have two columns, one that stores current month’s data and one that stores last month’s data. Every month data from column 2 (this month’s data) needs to be moved to column 1 that holds last month’s data. I then null out column 2 so I can accumulates this month’s data.
I understand how to drop a column or add a column, how do I transfer data from one column to another.
Here is my trial code:

I looked up the Access SQL reference (which is probably a
good place to start when having issues with Access SQL), and
it suggests you probably need a WHERE clause in there.
I agree the documentation is a good place to start. But you should not need a WHERE clause here.
Too few parameters. Expected 1.
If you run the SQL directly in Access, what are the results? At the very least, it should provide a more informative error message..

After extracting data into DSO check the request whether active or not.
Check data in DSO in contents.
If is there any restrictions on info providers in Queries.

Issue with display data from infoset

Dear Experts,
When I am trying to display data from BI INFOSET in (Execute in background ctrl+F2)backend it is working fine but when in try to run the execution in forground (execute F8) then the system gets hang.. and time out. could any one has this kind of experience. if so kindly let me know do i need to implement any patch or else which way i can do work to resolve this issue.

Is it possible that the problem comes from R/3 since when I check the extractor 0FI_GL_40 with the RSA3 Tcode I've got the message:
Errors occurred during the extraction --- Message no. RJ012
I think that the pb has been solved by switching on the business function "Reporting Financials" . Inthe SAP source System -> TA: SFW5. Turn on Reporting Financials. Then I've no pb while testing the extractor.
Pb solved.
