Display - Day or Week

Is it possible to display only a portion of the day? I have no need to show the period from 7.00 pm to 8.00 am and to remove this period would reduce clutter. Setting preferences to "day starts" and "day ends" and "show eleven hours at a time" still results in a full 24 hours display.
I know that this question may have been asked before but in the instances that I was able to locate it was not answered.

Beetone,
AFAIK, the display function that you describe is default behavior.
I recommend that you provide iCal Feedback.

  • Wrong month displayed in day and week views

I recently noticed that whereas the current month is displayed correctly in Month view, in Day and Week view the date is displayed as in January. This has been the case in both February and now March.
I sync my iCal with my mobileme account and my iphone and these don't have the same problem.
I have removed my com.apple.iCal.plist file and rebooted, to no avail.
Any suggestions what else I can do?

Thank you so much Ferd II
I kick myself. Though too my mind it is not logical to look inside Language & Text for a problem with month names. I forgot that last month I changed the date format to yyyymmdd in order to make it more logical sorting things. I have now reverted to day of week, day of month, month, year, and everything seems fine.

  • Determining Hours Displayed in Day and Week View

    Hi there,
Even though I have determined the Day hours to be, for example, 7am to 6pm in iCal Preferences, and I have determined the number of hours to be shown on the screen to be, for example, 11 hours, I still have to scroll down to fit my Day's hours in the view. In addition, the non-day hours (i.e. midnight to 7am, 6pm to midnight) are still being shown.
Is there any way of removing the non-day hours, and in effect the scrollbar so that on opening iCal, the correct hours as I have determined them are displayed?
Why would I want to open my Day or Week view and have at the top (what I would expect to be the first thing of my "Day") to in fact be Midnight (and go back to sleep)?
Am I missing something or does this not work the way I think it should, or thought it did?

    Hi,
It seems that you have no historical data. You need to schedule the job SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR hourly.
See if the data is collected.

  • How to format a date to display the ISO week number in BI Publisher ?

    Hi there,
I need to format a date to display the ISO week number in BI Publisher.
I've tried the following <?format-date:NEED_BY_DATE;'WW'?>, but it returns a week number (1-53) where week 1 starts on the first day of the year and continues to the seventh day of the year, which is not what I want.
I want the ISO week number (1-52 or 1-53), the one implemented by the 'IW' format mask of the Oracle PL/SQL TO_CHAR() function for example.
I've tried using 'IW' format mask, but it is not recognised by BI Publisher.
Also, as I'm working on an RTF template, I've tried 'IW' as MS Word date format, but it is not recognised by MS Word :-((
Any help would be much appreciated,
    Regards - Hugues

    Hi,
    Thank you for the post.
The thing is I don't have access to the query, unless I modify a standard E-Businees Suite view (one of those used to generate the PO document in Purchasing).
    Regards - Hugues

  • Shading certain columns depending on start day of week.

    Good Afternoon,
I have reason to edit the calendar wizard to make it completely automated.  And before anyone says that this isn't used anymore, we've received 2 separate calendar files over the last made from our Finance departments, each making them with Word calendar
wizard highlighting year end dates.  So believe me, the calendar wizard is still very much in use!
Last September, I finally figured out how to automate the first day of the week, though.  I have 2 templates now, one for Monday as first day and one for Sunday being the first day of the week.
The only thing missing is to automate the shading so that the columns for Saturday and Sunday are shaded with light grey, and since it's automation we're talking about, only those cells in the columns with a number in them.
I know it's do-able, I'm just not a vb expert, only being able to handle editing simple macros.
But I understand that since I had some help with the macros and they might have changed from the original to some degree, that I should post the code.  Is this correct?  I hope that it is.

The above is from the module labelled "Calendar".  I don't believe anything was altered in the module labelled "Common", but please let me know that I should post it.
To recap, in this wizard file, the first day of the week is set for Monday.  So the Saturday and Sunday columns always fall as the last 2 columns in the calendar table (Sunday as first day has the 1st and last column as the ones that would need shading).
How can that syntax be added to shade the last 2 columns in the Monday calendar wizard, and the 1st and last column for the Sunday calendar wizard and hopefully shading just those particular cells in either with numbers in them?
    Thank you!  Very much appreciated.

Thanks, Doug!  Works beautifully.  I tried them again this morning, really incredible!
I'm going to keep the Monday and Sunday wizard files as separate files because I realized that I don't have the skills (or the time) to try to figure out how to modify it so the user is requested the starting day.  It'll be beyond my meager skills,
I'm sure, especially since there are all those dialogue boxes to contend with at the wizard's start.  I was forgetting about those.  So leaving these as 2 separate files where one chooses the starting day as per the title, the Monday one for Monday
and the other, the Sunday one, for a Sunday start day.
However, the only difference between them at this point is that one has a "0" for Sunday and the other a "1" for Monday, at the appropriate spots in the code.  being the starting week day and the other a "1" for Monday.
That's it.  They're beautifully the same in the rest of the code.  And a further benefit is that only one module was touched at all for all of this, the Calendar module (leaving the one labelled "Common" untouched.
So anyone with a calendar wizard file can just change the piece of code below (begging the group's indulgence, if I may, in posting the modified code (??):

  • Unable to see days in Week view.

I open my iCal, and switch over to Week view, but the days of the week don't display on the top. My brother's Mac and friends display the days.
I have tried to reinstall iCal, and also removed the plist file and rebooted, and days still don't show up. Everything looks good in Day and Month views.
Any ideas or hints about what to do to get the days to display while in Week view?
Thanks in advance for your responses!

    barns,
Apple Discussions is just a user-to-user forum. You should not expect any response from an Apple employee.
    Also, check your settings in:
    System Preferences...>International>Formats>Dates>Customize.
There will be a Show: field which has Short/Medium/Long/Full. I am not sure which one fills iCal. Change them one at a time and experiment with individual settings.
As you can see the International Preference has additional time settings in:
    System Preferences...>International>Formats>Times>Customize.
I am not using Leopard, so I am not certain about the exact configuration of that preference pane.

  • Weird event display problem in week view

Hi. I'm getting a weird display problem in week view. First time this has ever happened.
Some events appear to be missing, but when i double click on where I know the event is supposed to be, a new event is created (as excepted), and the missing events suddenly appear. When i move forward or back by a week, and then return to the week in question, the missing events are gone again. But, I can see the missing events in day view or month view.
    Any ideas?

    Dean,
Next, try reinstalling the Mac OS X v10.6.2 Update (Combo).
    If that is unsuccessful:
    1. Use iCal>Export...>for each one of your individual calendars.
    2. Delete all but one of your calendars.
    3. Create a calendar and name it "Test."
    4. Delete the calendar which remained after step #2.
    5. Quit iCal.
    6. Remove the iCal plist, and drag the iCal plist file to your Desktop.
    7. Log out/in or restart.
    8. Restart iCal and use iCal>File>Import...for each one of the calendars that you exported in step #1.
    9. Delete the "Test" calendar, and any "Home/Work" calendar which was automatically created when you opened iCal in step #8.

  • IPhone Month Display Day Order?

Currently the month display on my 3GS order the Day of Week as:
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
I would like it to display the days in this order
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
My Entourage calendar is set to display as in the latter, that is the first day of the week as Sunday.
How can I change my iPhone calendar month display Sunday as the first day of the week?
    Thanks and Cheers....

This is determined by your iPhone's Region Format selection at Settings > General > International > Region Format.
The Region Format for the United States includes the day of the week starting on Sunday.

  • SharePoint Workflow Long Date does not output day of week!

    Hi all,
We have developed a workflow that sets a time delay and notifies users after three working days have elapsed. It detects a working day by checking whether the words "Saturday" or "Sunday" occur in the long date version of "Today".
This workflow was running just fine but recently we found that emails were being sent out on the weekend and the cause for this was that the long date did not contain the day of week at all!.
I have been looking at this issue for a while and the only thing I have found is that when I change the site regional settings away from UK, the long date displays correctly again. In fact, it works for most locales, but as soon as I change the locale back
to UK it stops working again. I have confirmed that this behaviour is consistent across more than one environment, and even on SharePoint Online!!
Has anyone experienced this or have any solution? To me this seems like a bug and a call to MS but I thought I would post here to see if anyone had similar experiences. The only discussion I have ever found on this subject is linked below but I do not see
a resolution to the problem. I don't think changing our locale is a solution! :-)
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/174e853f-69b6-46ab-a1a8-674daec898c0/workflow-lookup-on-datetime-field-format-set-to-long-date-but-missing-day-of-week?forum=sharepointcustomizationprevious
    Thanks,
    Tal

My last reply that this did not fix the problem when I reactivated the workflow was deleted by someone from this forum post.
I still have this issue with the calculated field and will probably end up calling Microsoft Tech Support to have them help me figure out why this works in my WSS 3.0 version of our Sharepoint Help Desk app and not in the SFS 2010 version.  I have the
exact same formula in the calculated field for both versions.  The SFS 2010 version always changes to "Sat" after any modification and there is no place in the workflows that get invoke when items are changed that this calculated field or any elements
    in the formula get touched.

  • ESS: Change First Day of Week in Date Navigator

    G'day everyone,
We are on NW2004S, i.e. ECC6 + EP7 + ESS 1.0. I'm having a hard time getting the Date Navigator, i.e. the value help for date fields in ESS, to use Monday rather than Sunday as first day of the week.
I have managed to customise the Team Calendar (and the other calendars in ESS) to start on Monday rather than Sunday by changing the FirstDayOfWeek property of the calendar element using <Ctrl>-right-mouse-click in Portal Content administration, so that displays ok now.
However, trying to do the same for the date navigator, i.e. doing a <Ctrl>-right-mouse-click just makes the date navigator disappear (actually it happens the moment I press the <Ctrl> key).
Am I doing something wrong here? Is there any other way to customise the FirstDayOfWeek property of the Date Navigator of WebDynpro for JAVA iViews in EP7?
Thanks a lot for your help and best regards!

Here's an old post, don't have time to confirm still true
'm been looking around and trying to find out about the function
"firstDayOfWeek", but I now finally found out it is much easier than that.
    Solution:
Find the CssResources_xx.properties file (where xx is the language you
want to change for) in the
    tomcat\4\webapps\gw\WEB-INF\classes\com\novell\webaccess\templates\css
    directory.
Look for Calendar.Week.startDay=1 and change that to 2 for Monday. Do
this for all language properties files you need.
Stop and start tomcat and voil*.

  • Char for Day of Week

    Hello
Is there a char which stores the day of the week. Like what i mean is a infoobject which stores that 1st day means monday etc...

    Hi,
To display the current date in report using an Exit variable on the 0CALDATE and passing the SY-DATUM should help you.
I don't think there is an particular char which stores the day of week like sunday, monday etc...
    Hope it's useful.

  • Deriving first day of week ww in year yyyy

I need to be able to display the first day of a particular week in addition to the 'week-of-year' and year; for example:
    select to_char("ServiceDate",'yyyy-ww') as "Year/Week", sum("Points") as "Points"
    from my_table
    group by to_char("ServiceDate",'yyyy-ww')
order by to_char("ServiceDate",'yyyy-ww')will give me the following:
    Year/Week     Points
    2008-33            1
    2008-35            1
    2008-42            4
    2008-43            2
    2009-01            1
...and so forth. What I would like to add to the dataset is the actual day that is the first day of the week for that Week/Year. For example, the first row would look like this:
Year/Week     1st day of week     Points
2008-33          08-AUG-2008*         1*Or whatever the first day of week 33 of year 2008 is (assuming 'first day of week' is a Sunday, for my purposes).
My brain is on 'dim' right now; any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Carl

            to_char(trunc("ServiceDate",'ww'),'DD-MON-YYYY') "Week Start Date",

  • Calendar.app not showing First Day of Week selected in iCal

I have selected Monday as the first day of the week in iCal. After syncing, Calendar.app on my iPhone 4 does not show Monday as first day of week. My original iPhone 2G (3.1.3, jailbroken) does show the correct start day, Monday.)
I do not need assistance with my iPhone 2G. I need a solution for my iPhone 4.
How do I get my iPhone 4 to be in sync with my other calendars?

That's a real pain. I'm in Australia and the regional settings have Monday as the first week, which throws me out because all my calendars and even settings in iCal have Sunday as the first day of the week (which is what it's supposed to be). To get what I want, I have to set my country as New Zealand, and this messes up my phone number formats (closest to Australia than any of the others that start the week correctly though). It should be an option in the settings!
