Display Driver in Premiere Elements 9

I have a Hp computer with a purchased version of elements 9. use to work just fine but now when I open up a project I get a warning that says "we have detected an incompatible display driver. to get a better and faster playback performance, please update your display drive. Display driver details: NVIDIA Corporation- GeForce 8200M G/PCI/SSE2/3DNOW!3.0.0" I have tried downloading new display drivers but nothing has helped. I have a lot of projects that I need to get done so if anyone has an idea on how to fix this problem please let me know.Thanks.

1st, do NOT trust Windows Update to be correct about drivers, go directly to the ATI site
2nd, some laptops have dual video, which causes problems

  • Display driver problem - Premiere Elements will not start

Premiere Elements 10 will not run on my computer unless I downgrade to an old display driver. I would do this but it causes other problems.
I am using the most recent driver from NVidia (but a pretty old display card).  I get this message: "We have detected an incompatible display driver... driver details: NVidia Geforce GTS 250/pCIe/SSE2 3.0.0"
    On Windows 7
    Can anybody help with this?

Have you manually gone to the nVidia web site and downloaded the latest driver?
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
This fixes about 95% of these types of issues.
Also, you definitely do have a BadDriver.txt file on your computer. And you may need to delete it to clear this error.

  • Incompatible display driver. Premiere Elements 11

Today when trying to open a project a message came up saying that an incompatible display driver had been detected: Intel(R) HD Graphic Family 3.0.0 Build 8.15.10.2559. I've checked and the driver is up to date however the project will not now open. My computer is an Asus lap top running Windows 7 64 bit, Intel core i7 with 6GB RAM. Graphics GEFORCE GT 635M 2GB
The programme was working fine yesterday although it was taking almost an hour for the project to open up. It is a big project with nearly 800 HD clips but had been opening up reasonably quickly until a few days ago. Any help would be much appreciated. I had this problem once before about three years ago with Elements 9 on my PC and had to uninstall a bad driver file but can't remember how I did that.
    Thanks

Let us target the BadDrivers.txt file deletion first. There is probably more to this than that, but this needs to be ruled in or out.
You should be seeing the following if your Premiere Elements 11 is running on Windows 64 bit
If you are not, your computer is probably set with Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives disabled in Folder Options.
Click on the Start button. In the Search field above the Start button, type in Folders Options. You should then see the text
for Folder Options at the top of the left column of the page. Click on Folder Options text to open to the Folder Option dialog.
In the Folder Options dialog, click on the View Tab, and scroll down the list under View Tab until you reach the Show Hidden
Files, Folders, and Drives option which you enable.
What are the pixel dimensions of the jpgs in your project?
Any chances for any Windows Updates that could have modified your video cards/graphics cards?
    More later.
    Thanks for the follow up.

  • Incompatible display driver in Premiere Elements 9

I purchased a new computer six months ago, a Toshiba Satellite C660-1LD, and installed Premiere Elements 9 on it almost immediately. However, for six months, I have been unable to work out how to even start a new project, and only now do I have the time to seek help.
Whenever I click 'new project' I get a pop-up telling me that the display driver on my laptop is incompatible with PE9, and I should update it. I have done so several times, through both the Toshiba website and the Intel one. I have Intel HD Graphics (Core i3), version 8.15.10.2189, and I am running Windows 7 Home Premium.
No matter what update I make to the display driver, it makes no difference to PE9, which continues to display the same error message.
Thanks for any help in fixing this problem.

    Welcome to the forum.
What is the date of your Intel video driver?
Does Toshiba have a newer one?
This FAQ Entry explains a bit more about the video driver, and the BadDrivers.TXT file.

  • How can I add media from an external hard drive into Premiere Elements? Please answer.

Alright, so I have looked all over the website and the way adobe's frequently asked questions about adding media did nothing for me. I am editing a large full length video in premiere elements 13 and so I would like to add media from my external hard drive and edit from that location. Is that possible? Because I do not have enough space on my laptop to keep hundreds and hundreds of GB of videos on my internal hard drive. I have looked on how to add media from the hard drive location and adobe says to add it using the files and folders tab, but when I select it to add it, it says I need to use the Video Importer. So I go to use the video importer and have no way of figuring out how to select my hard drive. Any ideas?

    Spencer WhiteOut
Thank you for the follow up with the information
it is a MacBook pro retina . OS X Operating system. External hard drive is connected by the USB cable. fat32.
It is my understanding, whether you have Premiere Elements on Windows or Mac, if you have files on an external hard drive,  you do not select
Add Media and head for a choice that includes Video Importer. Instead, you select Add Media/Files and Folders and navigate to the external hard drive to select your file(s) for import into the project.
But, you seem to be saying that when you do you are met with a message to use the Video Importer. Does the message give you any other related information on why you are being detoured to Video Importer since Video Importer does not import from an external hard drive for me or you. It does for me using Add Media to get the files from my external hard drive into a project.  I am strictly an Elements Windows user, so my Mac information is from what I have read. Based on that...
    1. Please evaluate the format of your external hard drive. Please review the following if you have not considered this point before.
    http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-set-up-an-external-hard-drive-for-use-with-os-x/
There are many online articles on this matter which would point you away from Fat32 as the format for a external hard drive Mac.
    2. From what you wrote, you are not dealing with a DVD drive so I see no way to implicate one of them in this issue. You are dealing with an
USB external hard drive and not a USB external DVD/CD drive. Correct?
    Please review and consider.
We will be watch for further news from you.
    Thank you.

  • Output video to USB flash drive using Premiere Elements 7?

Is it possible to output a finished project to a USB-connected flash drive instead of burning it to a DVD? I want to be able to plug the flash drive into another computer and have the video play in the absence of Premiere.

Ozpeter and Steve, thanks for the timely reply. My problem is I didn't think the issue through enough to fully ask the question. I thought perhaps DVD players had auxillary USB inputs, but checked and mine at least don't. I guess that leaves me with a Windows Media file that would play on laptops or desktops, but then maybe a DVD file would work better.
I have a nearly 4GB DVD comprised of family picture slideshows sandwiching a series of video clips that works just fine on my computers, TV, portable DVD player and player/projector. I'd love to be able to carry that file around on, say, a Kingston Data Traveler to show others.
As I understand it, I need to again render this show, saving it to my hard drive, and then copy that output to my portable USB device.

Any special instructions for loading and getting Elements 10 to work with Windows 8.1?
After installing Elements 10 on my new Windows 8.1, I have a problem with the video.  This worked find on my Windows 7 machine.  When playing the imported video, I can hear the audio, but do not see the video.  The video plays successfully using the native video player in Window 8.1.  The camera is a Nikon AW100, and format is MOV.

The first question is "Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 10?"
Are you working with the program as Run As Administrator or from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?
Next, because of the current epidemic of display problems for Premiere Elements 10 users with NVIVIA video cards, I will ask "Does your computer use a NVIDIA video card? Do you have the latest driver installed? May need a roll back. But because of your Premiere Elements 10 Windows 7 vs Premiere Elements 10 Windows 8.1, I am not certain this may affect you. Nonetheless, please check it out.

I have Premiere Elements 10, 11, and 12 successfully installed on Windows 8.1 64 bit. The video card is Intel HD Graphics and no problems.
Important to know, "What are the properties of the video that you are importing into the project?" And "What have you or the program set for the project preset based on the properties of those source media?" Based on what I have read of your camera, you are probably dealing with Full 1080p30 (H.264.mov) with Stereo. If so, is your project preset

  • AVCHD 1080p50 not showing up in Premiere Elements 11

I have Premiere Elements 11, which, according to what I have read, supports editing 1080p50 (or 60 in NTSC). When I create a project it is not showing up in the list of available presets. See the available list below:
Checking the installation directories, I can see that the preset is actually installed on the computer. Screenshot below:
Comparing the two lists, all of the presets are available, except the 1080p 50. The preset has GUID 088bb726-9823-467e-b3b7-26f3703d4cf1, which is included in the Adobe Editing Modes.xml as EditingMode24, enabled on all platforms. I was going to attach both the preset and the editing modes xml to this question, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. They are both reasonably large files, so I am posting below only the definition of EditingMode24. I can post the contents of the preset as well, if required. I am on Windows 7 64bit.

Any help with this is much appreciated.

    VDOSurfer
Please excuse if the following has been brought up here or in the other thread that you referenced. I have been exploring and experimenting with this issue of the "Premiere Elements 11 Windows missing AVCHD 1080p50" that some users have run into and thought that I would post my findings here just in case.
A user in France reported the problem, same syndrome, PAL AVCHD 1080p50.sqpreset in the program files, but not showing up as a choice in Premiere Elements 11 new project dialog. Program installed with French as language. I received  a copy of the file to study. Except for it having more preset choices than I did, the Notepad document was identical to what I had in my Premiere Elements 11 Windows. Without resorting to your downloadable version, I was able to correct the problem by removing all the descriptions from the "bad" document, copying the same section with seemingly identical script from the "good" document, and then pasting the latter into the "bad" document. Correcting the occasional typing errors in the document, example 1 920 and  080, and removal of several descriptions/languages that I did not have in my copy had no impact on the issue.
Right now the project presets that you have posted appear to be the answer to this problem until Adobe gets around to addressing it. As for those who would like the displayed readouts associated with the preset to agreed with the preset properties, I have posted the following at the other forum that I frequent. The response was addressed to the user in France who was great in follow up.
Here is more information on what was your Premiere Elements 11 Windows missing PAL AVCHD 1080p50 project preset.
If you want VDOSurfer’s PAL AVCHD 1080p50.sqpreset file as the replacement for the file that came with your Premiere Elements 11 Windows
    a. to be included and displayed in the Premiere Elements 11 Windows new project dialog listings of choice
    and
    b. to have the descriptions (new project dialog as well as the Edit Menu/Project Settings) agree with the PAL AVCHD 1080p50.sqpreset file,
then you need to edit further the Notepad document for VDOSurfer’s PAL AVCHD 1080p50.sqpreset file in the following two places in the Notepad document.
    1. Where you see
    <EditingModeGUID.Win>d10b5335-ce74-4031-bc7c-79e8b73582ee</EditingModeGUID.Win>
    <EditingModeGUID.Mac>d10b5335-ce74-4031-bc7c-79e8b73582ee</EditingModeGUID.Mac>
    CHANGE TO
    <EditingModeGUID.Win>088bb726-9823-467e-b3b7-26f3703d4cf1</EditingModeGUID.Win>
    <EditingModeGUID.Mac>088bb726-9823-467e-b3b7-26f3703d4cf1</EditingModeGUID.Mac>
    2. Where you see
    <VideoFieldType>1</VideoFieldType>
    CHANGE TO
    <VideoFieldType>0</VideoFieldType>
Also, if you have a PAL AVCHD 1080p50 file, add it to the project, and drag it to the Timeline, you will now find the project will automatically set the project preset and that project preset and description will be for PAL AVCHD 1080p50 settings.
Also be aware that VDOSurfer’s download descriptions in some cases maintain certain references to the word interlaced, presumably because he edited a Notepad document for an interlaced project preset to get his progressive 1080p50 offering. But, I have found that they do not make a difference in arriving at the above.  This aspect of his document can be edited further, replacing “interlaced” with “progressive” in each of the languages offered. But I do not see the purpose in the latter at this point.
There remains many unanswered questions in pin pointing the core of the issue of the missing AVCHD 1080p50 project preset run into by some users. Particularly frustrating is trying to find differences between the Notepad document for the situation that will not work with that which will. Often the documents look identical except for perhaps a 1 920 x  080 instead of a 1920 x 1080. But those typo errors do not answer the "whys" as far as I am concerned since correcting them does not correct the problem at hand.
Until Adobe gets around to clarifying and/or correcting the situation, the work of VDOSurfer, contributions of thers, and the few suggestions that I have made for seeing more  appropriate display of settings should keep things moving along. Focus export settings.

  • How to burn my Video to a DVD in Premiere Elements 7?

    I have a
video of my son's Basketball team and I save it
on my Hard Drive thru Premiere Elements.I did make it a
project. I now want to burn it onto a DVD and don't want
anything more such as timelines and or screen lines.
Can someone step me thru the process?
    Thank You

    THEVIDEOKID
We have a lot of details to sort through systematically to get your the DVD-VIDEO that you want, but let us try some preliminary questions and answers to get started:
    a. The file that you clicked on to open your video in the Premiere Elements 7 Timeline...did it have a file extension of .prel? That is the file extension of a Premiere Elements project.
    b. When you started that project, did you set it up for NTSC DV Standard or Widescreen or the PAL counterpart?
    c. If you are working with the project.prel, when you open the project.prel, do you see your video on the Timeline? Does it play back in the Edit Mode Monitor if you hit the Play button of the Edit Mode Monitor?
    d. When you get to Share/Disc/Disc, what preset did you set...NTSC Standard or Widescreen or the PAL counterpart?
    e. After you have hit Burn in the Burn Dialog and during the encoding burn, the image in the Monitor stays at the image where you left the Timeline indicator back in the Edit Mode....nothing changes there, except maybe the image will dim during the encoding/burning process.
    f. IMPORTANT...do you get a message saying the the burn to disc has been successfully completed, followed by the DVD burner tray opening?
    g. If so, put the DVD back in the burner tray, go to My Computer/DVD drive. Right click the DVD drive and select Explore. Do you find content of two folders, one named OpenDVD and the other VIDEO_TS?
Where are you trying to play back the DVD-VIDEO that you believe that you created?

This is what I would like you to do to troubleshoot this issue....
Make sure that the issue exists with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled. Then if that did not help...
Uninstall Premiere Elements 9 via the usual Control Panel route.
Do a free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts)
    https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
Reinstall the program with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
    Keep the program closed.
Download and install the 9.0.1 Update (Premiere Elements 9 remains closed while this is going on.)
Adobe - Premiere Elements : For Windows : Premiere Elements 9.0.1 update
Reopen Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1, and open a new project in the Timeline workspace. So far so good or not? Hopefully, OK, but if not OK....

Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.
If is not going to help the present situation (that is just trying to install), but your 6 GB installed RAM is not a factor here since that Premiere Elements 9 or 9.0.1 is a 32 bit application running in a 32 or 64 bit application and as such has all the limitations of 32 bit system - maximum supported installed RAM = 4 GB of which typically 3.2 to 3.0 GB of that are available.

  • Video file help for Adobe Premiere Elements 7

    Hello,
I am not a technical person so I don't really understand all the "big words" per se.
I got my movies converted to a DVD from a company and they sent it to me in an mp4 format which I thought I could just import into Premiere and start to edit.  Well that didn't work.  Trying to figure out how to import it so I could edit it.  I know if I convert it through something the quality will go down.
I don't know anything about codecs but it says the Video Codec is LEAD H264 Decoder (3.0) and the Audio codec is LEAD AAC Decoder.
Hope that helps and someone out there could help me.

Given you have files with .mp4 file extensions on a DVD disc for storage purposes.
And, you want to use these files in a Premiere Elements 7 Windows project. What do you
    mean by
I thought I could just import into Premiere and start to edit.  Well that didn't work.
    How did it not work?
    a. When you opened Premiere Elements 7 and went to Get Media/Files and Folders/ did you
get an error message that prevented you from going further?
    b. If you imported your file into Organize/Media, did you have a problem after you dragged your video to the Timeline view Timeline or the Sceenline view Filmstrip?
    or
    c. Was the issue some place else?
Backing up a little, how did you attempt to import the .mp4 from the DVD disc to Premiere Elements 7?
    a. Copy file from disc and paste to desktop from where you used Premiere Elements Get Media/Files and Folder?
    b. User Premiere Elements 7's Get Media/"DVD(Camcorder or PC DVD Drive)"/Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader?
Once we sort out the above, then I would like to learn more about the properties of your files. Right now we know only that they are .mp4 files that use video compression = LEAD H.264 and audio compression = LEAD AAC. Do you know what we have here...720 x 480 4:3 or 720 x 480 16:9 Widescreen or something else?
Please review the above and do not hesitate to ask for clarification on anything written.
At this point, I am not sure if the problem is related to how you imported that video into Premiere Elements 7 or the properties of the video itself (original or some possible modification of the original).
    Please review and consider.
    Thank you.
