Display ending time in week view?

Is there any way to show the ending time for each event in week view (or anywhere?) i.e. 16:30-19:30 instead of just 16:30? I want to be able to see at a glance when my different shifts end, and at the moment I have to ad the ending time to the event title to be able to see it.

I am looking for the same thing. I actually would appreciate being able to see start and end times in every view. When I'm trying to see how many hours I'm working in a week, the easiest way is to see that, okay, Monday is 9-5, Tuesday is 9-4, Wednesday is 8:30-4:30, and so on. Those numbers are easy to calculate and add.
Plus, in month view, I can't tell what kind of gaps there will be in my days, and my down time is extremely important to me!

• ESS Working Time - Start Time  and End Time in Weekly View

Hello,
I'm having a problem with the business package ESS - functionality Working Time (cat2).
I need that information to Start Time and End Time appear in the Weekly View of the portal.
In Daily View that information are already visible, but In Weekly View that information does not appear.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you very much your attention.
Att,

Hi Bala
You can have clock in and clock out in a weekly view.
you have to change the data entry profile settings.
In general settings tab in data entry profile click the with clock times button and maintain the Period type to 02 in time settings tab.
And you can view the weekly entry in clock in and clock out.

Hi Team

I came across a better Webdynpro ABAP application which exactly fits the requirement but it is part of EHP5, getting a mini upgrade for one application was also rejected. is it possible to implement in a short period of time without great impact ..anybody experienced on this?

Hi Suresh,
Thanks for your valuable inputs. I went and looked into the java file and found bit different.I dont see how they are getting the column headers like Saturday,Sunday,Monday...
Basically I need to keep one 'Submit' button on top of my table and on click, it should populate 8 hrs in the correspounding column. For eg. if its monday, it should default 8 hrs in monday column so  that user dont have to manually type it in and also save these working hrs in the backend system without further click on 'Save' or 'Review'.
I still need to check with the ABAPers regading the user exit.
Also, Is it possible if I create a custom webdynpro application where I can use a BAPI that takes in the current day from my webdynpro and update the cats database and send an export parameter with success or error message.
Thanks

• Showing start and end time in month view?   And email like notifications ?

1- How to you set event so that they show the start and end time in month view?
2 - I have a little "1" on my iCal icon in the dock what does that mean? There is also a little one in the line of one of my calendars? I know I should know this but I am at a loss/

FDWifeCFD,
1- How to you set event so that they show the start and end time in month view?
AFAIK, this is not a feature of iCal.
2 - I have a little "1" on my iCal icon in the dock what does that mean?
That means an iCal invitation has been sent. Click the small envelope icon on the bottom right of the the screen to view the notification.
There is also a little one in the line of one of my calendars?
That represents the current time of day in the Day/Week view.

• End time in month view

Hi,
I'm new to iCal. I want to print my schedule in Month view but as it is right now, it only shows the start times of events in each day. Is there any way to make it show both start and end times for the events in month view?
I searched the help files and searched online but nothing came up.
Any help is appreciated.

• Show start & end times in monthly view?

how do I show both start and end times in monthly view of iCal?

It does come with the operating system - you don't pay any extra for it.
Perhaps the shipping to Mars is a tad expensive?

• I cal day and end hours in week view

I just installed Tiger and am having trouble getting the hours that I want (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) to only show in my week view. I followed the iCal help and set it up under preferences, yet is shows the day starting and ending at midnight. Help?

Mark, welcome to the discussions. This feature of iCal is misleading - and not particularly useful. No matter what you set in the preferences there will still be 24 hours in the day, and all will be visible (though you can control how many are simultaneously displayed. Your 7am to 8pm setting controls which part of the display iCal lightly shade, and which part it leaves unshaded.

• Wrong month displayed in day and week views

I recently noticed that whereas the current month is displayed correctly in Month view, in Day and Week view the date is displayed as in January. This has been the case in both February and now March.
I sync my iCal with my mobileme account and my iphone and these don't have the same problem.
I have removed my com.apple.iCal.plist file and rebooted, to no avail.
Any suggestions what else I can do?

Thank you so much Ferd II
I kick myself. Though too my mind it is not logical to look inside Language & Text for a problem with month names. I forgot that last month I changed the date format to yyyymmdd in order to make it more logical sorting things. I have now reverted to day of week, day of month, month, year, and everything seems fine.

• Determining Hours Displayed in Day and Week View

Hi there,
Even though I have determined the Day hours to be, for example, 7am to 6pm in iCal Preferences, and I have determined the number of hours to be shown on the screen to be, for example, 11 hours, I still have to scroll down to fit my Day's hours in the view. In addition, the non-day hours (i.e. midnight to 7am, 6pm to midnight) are still being shown.
Is there any way of removing the non-day hours, and in effect the scrollbar so that on opening iCal, the correct hours as I have determined them are displayed?
Why would I want to open my Day or Week view and have at the top (what I would expect to be the first thing of my "Day") to in fact be Midnight (and go back to sleep)?
Am I missing something or does this not work the way I think it should, or thought it did?

• End times in month view: after 5 years of asking, will we ever get it?

About a year ago, I noted that a quick search of these forums turned up 28 requests dating back to 2005 requesting an extremely simple feature every paper calendar has: the ability to show an events' end time in addition to its start time.
I had forgotten all about this issue until my wife started using iCal to manage her calendar after buying an iPhone. Her first question: "why can't I see when something ends in month view?"
Great question. I've added another request to this feature http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html. If you're frustrated by this too, please visit the URL above and request that Apple add this ability.

Re: how to print a monthly calendar with start and end times

It looks like we're not alone in looking for this feature. I found 28 other posts to this forum alone asking for this functionality (dating back to August 2005).
I know Apple likes to be different and elegant with their apps, but until iCal adds this trivial feature, it's not an adequate replacement for even paper calendars.
Do the engineers in Cupertino not care how long their appointments last? Why not at least let users show the end time on appointments as an option in month view?

One thing I must add.
I'm giving switching to Google Chrome/Chromium a lot of serious thought, now. It might actually be the better open source browser. Why?
I've discovered that if I go into chrome://flags, I can search for 'HiDPI support' and ... toggle it to disabled. Making Google Chrome behave as it did before High-DPI support was a thing. What a magical feature!
Apparently this feature is not impossible to implement because Google managed it. Why can't Firefox have an about:config option that completely disables High-DPI??
Seeing that Google has done this makes me feel all the more hated by Mozilla. And it creates links between Mozilla and the likes of Apple in my mind.

• Printing appointment times in week view?

I would like to print my appointment times when printing in week view, but can't find a way to do it. Possible?

Hmm, suddenly they locations have appeared again on my latest attempt to print them out. Not sure what that was all about, but whatever it was is now sorted.
Cheers anyway!

• End times in list view

Is there a setting in the calendar that shows the end times of events in the List view?

When you are in the list view, if the event is not an all day event, the time should be listed to the left of the event name.  There are two times listed there, the first in bold is the start time and the end time should be right underneath it but in a faded print.

• Still not seeing times in week view

*I still have not gotten a solution* to why the hourly times (eg 8 a.m., 9 a.m., etc.) no longer show in the left column of iCal in either the daily and weekly screen views. Only Noon shows in the column under the year header (2008).
If I print a calendar for any of the three views, the times DO show on the printed page as expected.
The problem showed up on this machine after the upgrade to 10.4.0. Dates do show on another machine on the same home network running 10.4.11. It is a basic iMac with only the fonts that came with it or software installed.
I have removed the iCal prefs as suggested in a previous post, but that had no effect. I have adjusted my prefs to the day range and hours to show at a time and there were no changes. My pref setting are exactly the same as the other computer that shows times.
I also removed iCal yesterday and reinstalled the program from the Tiger OS disc. No change.
It is not the font conflict that causes the date of the dock icon to be misaligned (when don't use the Apple Helvetica). I have turned off/on fonts in font book to check. I have over 400 font families, but normally only about 50 families are active.
*I have been trying for since November 2006 to get a solution to this*. Does anyone know?
The closest Apple store is over two hours away and when I did visit it once, I was told I had to make an appointment on a future day to see a Mac expert.

Greetings,
The calendar will always have all 24 hours on it. What you can do is set the number of hours you want in the day, in preferences, which will scale the hours for you, then slide the screen to show the hours that you want, and then quit iCal. Restart it, and it should come up with the same view that you left with. This way it looks like just the hours you selected.
