Display help where it cannot be seen

I am learning iWeb, so I am using the iWeb help alot. Each and every time, when I choose help, the help dialog box appears under the iWeb window, meaning I have to move the iWeb window around until the help is visible so I can click on it. Command ~ or command tab will not display it.
This makes no sense, to display help where it cannot be seen.
Am I missing some setting?

Bob ~ The default behavior appears to be that the Help window floats on top of other windows (see here), so I don't understand why yours is different.
Anyway, one speculative thing to try is deleting some relevant plist files. (You should have a backup of your system in case you don't like the result!)...
First quit iWeb and close its Help window and then navigate to your Home folder > Library > Preferences
...then look for these files:
com.apple.iweb.plist
com.apple.help.plist
com.apple.helpviewer.plist
Drag them to the Trash, start iWeb and see if that has made a difference.

This is a new feature or bug if you want to call it that in OS X 10.9.3
Until Apple fixes this, here is a temporary work around.
Copy and paste the following command in the Terminal and then hit Enter, followed by your password.
sudo ln -s /Users /Users\ Folder; ln -s /Users/Shared /Users/Shared\ Folder
This will put a link to the Users folder called "Users Folder" on your Hard Drive and a link to the Shared folder called "Shared Folder" inside of the Users folder.

L3 Cannot Display Help

Installed the new CS5.5 Master Collection update after having already installed Lightroom 3.4.1; now Lightroom gives the prompt "Cannot Display Help" when trying to open help.
I've already been to the following forums and links, but they're of no use, as they're for Windows:

Error: "Cannot display help"

I just installed LR 2.1 and get this error message when i press "help" : "Cannot display help".
I am on XP64.
I find a folder named "Resources" and within that a folder named en and help.
Any ideas as to what is wrong?

Are you connected to the internet? The help is on Adobe's site.It is not on your computer.

I have upgraded to Lightroom 2. When I select Help/Lightroom Help... I get an error box that says, "Cannot display help." without any other explanation. Same if I use the F1 key.
I have tried both a Modify Install and a Repair from the CD-ROM and neither have fixed the problem.
I am running Vista on a notebook.

I also have LR2 installed on a desk top Windows XP. Help does get me to the Adobe LR web site. I have a network connection on the laptop but do not get any help message on the Windows Vista laptop, just the Error display, "Cannot display help."

System Preferences/Users & Groups shows you the various user accounts you have.
Look at your hard drive in the Finder sidebar. You should see Applications, Library, System, and Users. If you look in Users you will see a Shared folder. From the user Migration Assistant created, find the iTunes folder and drag it to Shared. Log out and log in using your normal user account, go to the same place and copy it to Music in your normal user account. Another option is to leave it in shared so any user can access it. You will have to tell iTunes where to find the music by going to iTunes/Preferences/Advanced.

Display Help for Field not referred through Data Elements in ALV

Hi,
I am working on a report program where the output is in ALV_LIST display format.The internal table used to define the field catalog contains fields that are not declared using Data elements.For these fields, when i press F1 from the output, the message I receive is 'No Document Available'.Can someone tell me how I can attach a help document to these fields without creating a new data element for each of these fields....
For eg : My internal table that forms the field catalog is
Data : Begin of i_itab occurs 0,
         matnr like mara-matnr,
         Name(50),
         end of i_itab.
When this table is displayed in ALV, if F1 is pressed on the field matnr the corresponding dictionary help pops out.But since the field Name has no help document attached to it, i cannot view any help for this..Kindly tell me how i can attach my own help document to this field.

Hi,
This issue was solved using the followiing steps.
1. There is a parameter 'IT_EVENT_EXIT 'in the FM REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY or REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
2.Set the value of the field of this paramter as
EXIT-UCOMM= '&ELP' " F1
EXIT-BEFORE = 'X'
This will make the control go directly to the user command functio written inside the program rather than the standard SAP define duser command....
3. Inside the perform -usercommand in the ALV program use the FM HELP_DOCULINES_SHOW to show the appropriate help document
This method may be used to display help text for those fields/columns in the ALV which are not referred to the fields/data elements in the data dictionary tabel

I have one song where i cannot edit!

I have an entire project where i cannot use my keyboard to edit anywhere in the song. I have no sound coming out of midi key board but see the notes going through the display by the time. I cannot find anything where a track is on solo etc. Can anyone help. Thank you very much.

You say you cannot "Find" anything that is solo'd... but are all your "M" buttons (mute) on the channel strips flashing?
If so, there is a track solo'd somewhere... simply hold the option key down while clicking ANY tracks solo button. This will cancel solo mode.

You don't need an Apple ID to use a "classic" iPod. You only need a computer (Mac or PC) that can run iTunes. If your iPod is older, your computer does not even need to run the latest version of iTunes. You can add songs to your iTunes library from music CDs, and song files you have already. Then sync the iPod to that iTunes library.

Not sure how long this has been a problem. Kids are young and I manually manage most things but recently having music synced is an issue. All software has been kept up to date.

Maybe these layers' visibility has been disabled. That'll be the case if there's a space where there normally is an eye to the left of a layer name in Layers panel. Click the space/eye to toggle visibility.

Contact picture cannot be seen while talking on the iPhone

This query is with regards to the contact picture, which cannot be seen while I am talking on the iPhone. If you see the review of iphone on the website (apple.com)..u will see a small picture next to John Appleseed. However in my iphone i cannot see it. The contact picture goes behind the menu controls(hold,mute,speaker etc).
Are you guys encoutering the same problme? Please help!

If you assign the picture from within the iphone, it takes up the whole screen. If you assign it from the computer (in your contacts database), then the picture will be in the corner. On the Mac, the contacts database is Address Book, and if you put a picture for a contact there, after a sync, that picture shows up in the corner when calling/talking to that person. I believe this works with Outlook or the Address Book on your PC too.

FCP X is open, but cannot be seen?

It says it's open at the top and I can see all the usual fcp stuff there, such as 'view, mark, modify' etc. However the rest of it cannot be seen at all. All I can see is my desktop and therefore cannot edit anything. This is extremely important as I'm required to do a showreel for next week. So if anyone could please help it would be greatly appreciated.

I'd propose you simply:
1) quit fcpx or force it out
2) remove | delete the file used in lion and M/lion to reinstate the app when it's fired up from last item. This file is at
~/library/Saved Application State/com.apple.FinalCut.savedState
Use finder opt+Go menu and drag to trash or use the bash terminal and the unix
"rm -f ~/library/Saved Application State/com.apple.FinalCut.savedState" to delete it.
3) now fire up FCPX. It should restore the FCPX UI in its pristine state using the current settings.
Try this
No need for any third party apps :) .
