Display Hierarchy

Okay, not sure how to ask this: I have two monitors, I'd like to have each display the same thing, not too picky about the resolution; my problem is that the "second" monitor keeps coming up first, with the mouse on that screen, rather than the one I want, the "first" monitor. Is there a way to identify which monitor the mouse is on? Ideally it would be both, but not necessary.
Also, one monitor only shows some of the desktop icons, not all. I've been pondering the system preferences and help menus, but nothing seems to come up.
Anyone heard of this difficulty before?

I think I just found the answer to my own question: Not exactly rocket science, I hadn't clicked the "mirror" box at the bottom of the arrangement window. Silly. And also, didn't realize the white bar in the arrangement windows could be dragged to set up a primary monitor. Ahh well, live and learn .

Urgent Error in Displaying Hierarchy in Bex- like not assigned Material

Hi Gurus,
plz solve my problem like displaying Hierarchy in Bex ,
I loaded hierarchy from R/3 system into Bw 0Mterial.
In Bex 0material Properties I Selected heirachy on Material , this heirarchy having 8 levels,
but in the out put it showing only one level displayng
like Not Assigned Material.
i did all the bex setting well, but i dnot know why i am getting this ...

hi,
Is your heirarchy uploaded properly for 0Material ?? If yes juct check out if your transcational data is in sync with the hierarchy master ? If it is not then it wuill display as Not Assigned..

No unique display hierarchy - ERROR

Hi,
I get his below error for my profit center IO in my report.
E025(R9E) Errors: No or no unique display hierarchy for 'Drill down characteristic' 'Profit Center'.
Profit Center has a restriction on a hierarchy variable.
Please let me know what this error means and how to rectify.

I also have this problem. I think this is caused because I want do make a selection on a characteristic using a hierarchy node variable. However, I do not want this characteristic to display in the report using the hierarchy.
This is the first time I try to do that with BI 7.0. However, in previous versions, it was working fine...
I couldn't find any notes. Will let you know if I find something.

Combine presentation hierarchy and display hierarchy

Hi,
We have a query with GL account and cost center in the rows. We have a custom-built hierarchy on GL account and next to that we want to display our rows as a display hierarchy. So far so good.
But next we would like to show our GL account hierarchy upside down, meaning with the lower-level nodes above. This setting however is not working in combination with the display hierarchy. I guess the solution would be to also mark the display hierarchy as being "upside down", however as far as I know this is not possible.
Anybody has a solution for this?

Hi,
1: To add a new char, add the info object as external chars in the Info object maitainance scree --> hierarchy tab. Then go to create hierarcy option. Now it will add you to insert the info object as a node.
2: Here you are mixing the Units in calculation.So you are getting the error as defined in TCODE RSCUSTV4. So as others given the idea, you can use the Data Function in a Formula (NO Dim).

"Drilldown characteristic" not permitted for display hierarchy

Hi Experts,
I want to display the hierarchy in my BEx Analyzer for which i tried to activate the hierarchy for the same and got the below error.
"Default values "Drilldown characteristic" not permitted for display hierarchy"
Also I have used a standard variable for this infoobject and it is used for user input in the selection screen of the report.
Eventhough we proceed further with this message, in the Report display, it is not showing the hierarchy in the display.
Please respond ASAP.

I don't know why you are getting this error. But we can create hierarchy either by using herarchy name or else by creating hierarchy variable......In characteristics for which you are creating hierarchy, in display tab of properties give DISPLAY AS KEY, SORT CHARACTERISTICS -- AS IN THE QUERY and RESULT ROWS --- ALWAYS SUPPRESS....
In HIERARCHY TAB --- Give Hierarchy name select use hierarchy setting check boxand select always show radio buttons......
Do in this way and it may work......

In BEx, how to display hierarchy Upper Node with selected Lower Nodes only

Currently I am displaying the Cost Centre (GFL Responsibility Cost Centre) hierarchy in a workbook. I want to be able to filter on this hierarchy dynamically. E.g. the upper node must be displayed including the rolled up results for this node, together with a selection of the lower nodes e.g 2 nodes ( not all the lower nodes related to the upper node must be displayed in the query).
What's possible when filtering :
To filter on the 2 lower nodes only ( results are displayed as required)
Not possible:
When I include the higher node of the 2 lower nodes in the query, All the lower nodes of the higher node are displayed, and the filter selection of the lower nodes are over written.
This is logically what's expected when the higher node is included in the filter.
Creating a hierarchy variable gives the same problem, I am not able to filter on the hierarchy nodes as required.
 Upper Node
 Lower Node1 LowerNode2 LowerNode3
Filter the report for UpperNode and LowerNode 2 & 3 only

Do you want to show particular node or particular level ?
If you want particular node , then create hierarchy node variable and restrict to that node ( 3rd node)
If you want particular level, what does that mean say i am taking employee hierarchy and the hierarchy is as below.
Ihe setting that we have is to expand upto n levels but if yiou say i need level 2 what does that mean and how do you want to show in report ?
 A -
(level 1)
 B,C,D( --child of A ) --- level 2
 E(Child of B), F(Child of C) -
level 3.

Display Hierarchy according to levels

Hi All,
I have Hierarchy which is of five levels. At each level their respective description is also there. When i uploaded it in data manager, It is uploaded correctly according to five levels. But at each levels, all the level descriptions are displayed, because the five descriptions are displayed fields in the Hirarchy Table. I want that each level must have its own description.
When i changed the source file accordingly, Their respective levels description are displayed but with four other blank with comma seperated.
How can i diplay level wise description with commas and blank values,

here you are taking currentelement , is the nodeKey() ,nodeManHour() cardinality is 1...1 or 0...n ?
if it is 1...1 , then try to print the values you are getting from the resultset so you will come toknow if it is coming from back end or not .
if it is 0..n then you have to create an element i.e wdContext.createKeyElement() etc and then after setting the values add this element to corresponding node.

it doesn't exist, but you have the graphical display of tables related by foreign keys and check tables (SE11, shiftctrlF11), and there are the logical databases to help you.

Displaying hierarchy in input schedule

Hi,
I have a customer dimension with hierarchy. i want to display the customer dimension in hierarchial fashion by using customer hierarchy in input schedule. i have gone throught the below thread
Create Hierarchy in REport which expalins to use REPT function REPT(" ",EVPRO(,$C47,"HLEVEL"))&EVDES($C47). when i'm expanding schedule after updating the description column(keeping customer dimension in row in evdre report) with the above said formula results are not displaying in tree like fashion. i have maintain hierarchy in customer dimension under ParentH1 property.
system doesn't generate HLEVEL property as expalined in the thread.

Hi Uday,
System does generate the HLEVEL property. You can confirm this by going into the SQL tables in the server. Open the table dim<dimension>. This table will have the HLEVEL column. This is a system generated property. If you have hierarchy in the member sheet, then you will have the HLEVEL property as well.
Just to check, place the below formula in one of the cells
=EVPRO(<appname>,<memberID>,"HLEVEL")
The above formula should display you some number indicating the level of the member in the hierarchy. If it is working fine, then you can refer to my reply in the below post

How to display Hierarchy Variable in BI 7.0 WAD

Hi Experts
I have a variable for Cost Center which is a Hierarchy Variable and not a Hierarchy Node Variable. I am using BI WAD 7.0 and my requirement is that the user wants to see for what Hierarchy s/he ran for.
I am using a Information Web Item whihc is under Advanced tab. After dragging that I check the box for Variables so that the user see all the variables he ran for and after s/he prints its more precise report.
My problem is I cant see the Hierarchy variable value in my Web Template ....I can see at the variable POP UP screen I enter my Hierarchy but after executing it I dont see my Hierarchy variable value.
Your suggestions will be reciprocated with Points.

To substantiate my earlier question ...I have 3 Hierarchies for 0COSTCENTER
In the WAD under the Information Web ITem i check the box for
Display Variables (VARIABLES_VISIBLE)
I have 3 variables
1) Hierarchy Variable : user will pick 1 out of 3 Hierarchy
(not a node but entire Hierarchy)
2) Fiscal Year/period
3) Value type
But I can see only 2 variables after the Web template is executed , the user wants to see for what hierarchy it ran when it prints the report

No authorisation for displaying hierarchy

Hello all,
some user mentioned that there can not activate hierarchy for an InfoObject within an web application. When I do this, the hierarchy is displayed correct. Also within the simulation for those users in TA RSSMQ the hierarchy can be displayed.
However: The user gets the message: No authorisation for reporting hierarchy.
Where can I allow the user to see the hierarchy?
The BW release is 3.5. Any ideas would be great.

Please check the authorizations for the user. Make sure that he has the S_RS_HIER object specified correct.

Issue is displaying Hierarchy

Hi,
I am currently facing issue in displaying the hierarchy.
I have 3 dimenion objects: Region, County, Branch.
And these 3 objects are optional prompt.
So, when Region is selected the corresponding country needs to be displayed in a column in the web, similarly when country is selected in the prompt Branch data needs to be displayed.
All these values needs to be dsiplayed in only one column in the WebI report.
I dont want to use Drill function, as I need to do manually in the report. Since, we are creating Dashboard from the report. So based on the prompt selected the next level data needs to be dsipalyed.
Could you please provide any solution for this issue as soon as possible.

I struggled with this for 3 days, I understand your pain. After a deep investigation I found that my mapping was incorrect. Try this:
1) Double click on DRILLDOWN connection between output and input ports
2) Check if WEBAPI inputfield has the web api commands
3) Make sure that none of the other input fields have values set. It usually happens that when you connect the output to the input port, similar (or like) variables are mapped automatically, for example in my case, I had Org_unit mapped to @Org_unit automatically. Delete such mappings. You should have only the WEBAPI input field with an assigned value.

Display Hierarchy in Planning layout

Hi,
I am using a Cost Center Hierarchy in planning area, level & layout. After executing a planning folder, System is asking me the Fiscal Year, Plant, and Cost Center Hierarchy. In Herarchy I have selected the PM4. But in excel layout it display node of this this hierarfhy.
i.e. MILLA -> PM4 -> 220300
I have selected PM4 but in excel planning layout header it display 220300.
Our requirement is PM4 should be display in excel planning layout header.
If anyone have idea how to do this please guide me. Thanx in advance.

1. Check into material master data itself whether it has the data (you can check either to master data & master data text). If you have no data, you need to fill it.
Yah I have loaded master data with text. When we go into BI and check maintian master data it shows plenty of records. So the data is there in BI.
2. Go to the corresponding material info-object, then edit it. Go to Business Explorer tab, you will see the setting for Query Def. filter Value Selection, you must set up it into Values in Master Data Table (M).
This setting is I have already done. But still I am facing problem.
When I click on that help button in web-layout. The new screen shows only selection fields but the below are blank.

How to display Hierarchy tree in F4 help ?

Sorry , this time i have a pure ABAP question .I have requirement where i have to extract the cube data into a flat file as per user's selection selection screen.On selection screen , there are various characteristics of cube such as COmpany code , kind of business etc.This characteristics have both master data as well Hierarchy.User can select anything .If he selects hierarchy, then i have to show him hierarchy in F4 help.
HOw is this possible?Please let me know if anybody knows any clue regarding this.

Hi Yogesh,
You want to show the F4 funtionality in a report or an Abap program. If you have to show it in a query/report then right click on the characteristic ->properties -> click on the hierarchy list and you will find a option for variable. Create the variable and it will be a selection option when the user executes the query showing all the hiararchies available when F4 is pressed.
