Display is Messed Up

I don't know how it happened, but my iphone's display is in negative colors, and I don't see anywhere I can fix it. Has this happened to anyone?

  • Display color messed jo

My IPad 2 display colors are all messed up and it has lines like static. Have anyone had this problem before and had it resolved.  Thank you.

Have you tried rebooting your iPad?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Is there a way to fix ipod touch screen display problem with song list?

I was wondering if anybody has had this problem? I have an ipod touch 64gig 5th gen for probably about 2 years. I hardly use it because I have it as a back up ipod until primary one dies. This is the first time I came across this problem. Upon turning on device, the first artist/song list I choose displays correctly. Once I start choosing any other artist/song list afterwards, the display for the 1st artist/song list re-appears. If the song list is only a single song to 3-4 songs it will display correctly. Any other song list I choose that consist more than 5 songs, the first artist/song list re-appears on screen like the display is messed up.
For example: Upon turning on device, I choose Aaliyah with a list of 9 songs displaying.
Upon trying to select a different artist and song, for example I choose Nachtmar with a  list of 20 songs.
The Aaliyah with the list of 9 songs re appears in place of the song list I am attempting to choose. The songs play and it works, but the display is incorrect. Why is it doing this? Does anybody have this problem? I have tried resetting and it has currently been updated. I have came across this problem just very recently a couple of days ago. I have had a couple of hard resets requiring to erase all data in the past and I don't want to go that way again because I have about 3,500 songs. I have never experience this problem before in the past. I just want it to display the current list of songs. It's inconvenient having to type in every song while playing in the car instead of being able to easily pick an individual song.

I have this problem too and it drives me crazy. When I view my ipod, I don't want to see a list of the first 8 songs in my ipod library. I just want to see the current song playing. It's like the ipod display goes into some type of "sleep" mode while your music plays, and the display defaults to show the first few songs in your ipod touch library, even though none of those songs are currently being played. I have to take the time to either flip the ipod over a couple of times in order for that list to disappear just to see the current song playing.
This is an example of what I see on my display after the current song begins playing. These are the first songs in my ipod library. To get rid of this view, I have to either shake the ipod or flip it over a couple of times and the current song is now displayed, allowing you to see the current song, also allowing you access to the arrows to either fast forward or playback/reverse. On the display, the songs are in a grid or table format (unable to show that here).

  • Song Title Tags Messed Up

I should note first that I have my music organized manually into folders for different genres (classic rock, rap, etc.) I have also deselected the "Keep itunes music folder organized" and "Copy files into itunes music folder when adding to library" options. I had fallen behind on keeping my playlists updated, so ealier today I cleared all my playlists out and added the corresponding folders to them all over again.
Somehow after this process, the displayed titles of thousands of my songs are messed up not only in the playlist view, but also in the library view. The name column, instead of just displaying the name, displays the artist from the artist column plus the name. However, the artist and all other columns display the correct information. The ID3 tags are still correct. For instance, instead of seeing "name: I'm on Fire artist: Bruce Springsteen album: Born in the U.S.A." I see "name: Bruce Springsteen - I'm on Fire artist: Bruce Springsteen album: Born in the U.S.A."
The ID3 tags themselves are correct when I go in and check them. Also, when I actually play the song or attempt to rename it, it changes the title back to match the correct ID3 title. For some reason only the display is messed up. This problem also carries over to my ipod unfortunately! All the songs on my ipod now have the same title problem. I suppose I could just run through and play all the songs, but I have several thousand and there must be an easier way. If I select multiple songs and go in to view or change the tag, it does not correct the problem like it does with a single song. Also I would like to know out of curiosity why this might have happened in the first place.
Side note: I am running itunes 6.0.4. I have tried to upgrade to 6.0.5 to no avail. The installer doesn't open. Downloaded several times to different drives. Multiple restarts.
Thanks for any help or insight.
Self-built Piecemeal   Windows XP   AMD Athlon 3200; 1 GB Memory

There is no feature in iTunes to add tags based on the filename. You'll have to use some other program, such as Tag&Rename or MP3tag.

  • With Firefox 5.0.1 and Firefox 6 beta there are display problems apparently due to Java and some Javascript compatibility problems -- there were links to solutions, but they are no longer active. What to do?

The box and button lines are not displayed or are mis-sized, if they appear at all; problem varies with the website and page style.
The threads I found in discussions mentioned a couple pages that are no longer active/cannot be opened -- so these solutions don't work.
When starting version 5x and 6beta I get information certain add-ons are STILL incompatible with these versions?
Are there any work-arounds or patches?

I am having this problem too. Just like WinOnBatch the problem started for me around firefox 5.0.1.
I have not been able to get rid of this problem. I have tried creating a new profile, restarting firefox in safe mode. disabling extensions 1 by 1. When I built this computer I did a clean install of firefox 5.0.1, and 2 weeks later with no extensions the problems came back. At that point I had the Java and flash plugins only.
When firefox 6 was released I did another fresh install (uninstalled firefox, went through my hard disc and deleted any reference to firefox and mozilla. Did the same in the registry, then run a registry cleaner and restarted the computer) before I installed firefox 6 and the problem was happening in less than a week. The I said to hell with it and re-created my entire profile from scratch and installed all my old extensions (updated them off course). 2 weeks ago it got really sever and I couldn't see any buttons on the chome interface and all web pages I visited were displaying really messed up. The only way i can describe it is kinda like greentech70 screenshots but on every inch of the application window. Like a really bad screen tearing effect.
The only thing that seem to help is when I downgraded to firefox 3.6.18. That fixed it but like greentech70 I have security and privacy concerns, so upgraded to firefox 6 again as the issue went away for 1 day, then came back but not as severe. since then I have been downgrading to firefox 3.6.18 re-installing java and flash, then upgrading back to firefox 6. It keeps the problem minimised but im still plagued by it. I also wonder if its a problem with firefox's 6 graphical engine.

  • Display help PLZ

i try to play a AVI file on my mac but before the movie starts a message apers. i cant spell that. so anyways it tells me that the software to display is messing and its on the quicktime website and i cant find the display software. i tryed downloading divx player but the same thing but without the message. PLZ SOMEONE HELP ME.
thinks for mac os x 10.2.8

You need to check one of the solutions below, though I don't know about support for Jaguar or Panther or whatever it is you are running. You may also need to update Quicktime to whatever version will work on your machines and the utilities.
[VLC media player|http://www.videolan.org/vlc> - general media player that plays just about anything.
[Perian codecs for Quicktime|http://www.perian.org] - plugins to add functionality to Quicktime for playing additional audio and video formats
I also don't know the specifications of your imac. Some of those G3 imacs were pretty slow and may simply be incapable of playing any form of compressed video.

  • Dropped MacBook Display Problem

Hi, I dropped my old MacBook while it was asleep and closed, now the display is messed up.
The right third of the display is no longer functional. Roughly half the damaged area is black. The other half consists of vertical lines in various colors, one pixel wide, running all the way from the top to the bottom of the screen.
Im hoping to get some advice on what is damaged. The video cable that runs between the motherboard and the LCD is $40, a new LCD is $150. If I can be pretty sure which part I damaged it's well worth fixing.
    Thanks for any help.

It would be pure guess work withouth physically being in front of the machine.

  • Detects wrong display at startup

I am running 10.5 and every now and then on start up my MBP will detect a VGA display and mess up the resolution of the screen. I have to restart and then it will work again and return to my normal display mode. I do not have another display connected when this happens... can anyone explain or tell me how to avoid this annoyance from occurring every now and then?

The discussion thread http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=3601941 shows that the problem is over a year old with (as far as I know) no resolution.
I've asked Applecare about it two or three times. One suggestion: use compressed air to try to get dust out of the DVI port. This is a little risky because you don't want to be blowing lots of air into the computer. So you want to angle the compressed air so as to blow across the port. That said, this didn't help me.
Another suggestion: repair permissions *from the install DVD*. When I did this, I indeed noticed that some ATI-related kernel extensions needed to have the executible flag set. That said, the problem recurred not long after.
So I'm still living with it.
Note though: In my experience, you don't need to reboot to fix the display mode; you only have to sleep and then wake from sleep. It might take two or three times. In the aforementioned thread, I said that "detect displays" would work, but that broke with Mac OS X 10.4.9 or 10.4.10 , though that may be because I typically use a nonadmin account.
One last comment: as I recall, someone on the aforementioned thread had their logic board replaced as a result of this problem. I had my logic board replaced for a different reason, and it didn't eliminate this problem. So I think the logic board can be ruled out as the problem.

  • Language Displaying problem: notification ok but installation not ok

    http://img253.imageshack.us/my.php?image=javainstallchinesebig5sp6.jpg
This is a screen capture.of the problem. To those who have no idea about the language, the first screen is the "Java update - there is a new update" pop-up in Traditional Chinese. The second screen is the Java installation which should be in Traditional Chinese but instead in rubbish character. It may be meaningful characters loaded with a wrong character code.
My operating system is Windows XP home - Traditional Chinese. My locale is set to Chinese (Hong Kong). Can someone tell me a way to fix it? or tell me a way to debug it myself? I have an IT background so I am ready for detail.
Any suggestion / wild guess is welcome.
P.S. The installation actually works ok. Just the display all messed up.

You should be aware that rarely does anybody who actually works at Apple read these posts. It's mostly just other Mac users like us who read and respond to them. If you want your feedback to get to Apple you need to provide it through one of their feedback connections at their support site.
Are you sure you are producing an Audio CD and not just doing a data backup CD? Are you using a good brand of CD blanks? Home audio CD players can be a lot more picky about reading CDs than computers.
You can't import standard iTunes files as AIFF because they are just about all "protected" against converting to any other format. I believe there is a premium version of iTunes that provides some unprotected files. However, you can make audio CDs from protected files, once you get the issues worked out on your system.

  • How to freeze iPod display (intentionally)

Is there a way to freeze the iPod display so that it becomes immune to turning and touches?
The point: I have got something on the display which I want to show to someone else. Then I hand the iPod to the other person. At that point usually the orientation changes (landscape <-> portrait) or I or the other person accidentally touches the display and the content of the display is messed.
In iPad there is button which locks the orientation. But I want also lock the display so that it does not react on touches.
