my hp i3 isn't display any thing.. what should I do?

U.S.A. and it is not that I don't want to help you because you are in Pakistan I just do not have a lot of experience with getting laptops repaired in Pakistan. I do it myself here but I do not expect you to pick up a screwdriver and take it apart.  Please understand I do not work for HP I am a volunteer fellow end user with no resources with which to help you except my experience and advice. I can do nothing for you until we figure out the model of your laptop. It should be printed on the bottom of the laptop or inside the battery bay. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

  • I have a HP pavilion dv2117tx notebook and my display isn't working.

    Hi
I have a HP dv2117tx notebook and my display isn't working. The computer swithes on fine but the display isn't working at all. The display started experiencing problems a few months ago with intermitent lines on the screen. The frequency of the lines increased in the last month and now, the display isn't showing anything.
I would really appreciate any useful advice. Thank You

    Hey @abhijeet_gdr ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand your display has stopped working on your dv2 notebook.
First we should figure out if the issue is with the display or the GPU. Connecting a VGA display would be the ideal way to do this. If the VGA display works, the notebook screen is the problem. If the VGA display doesn't work chances are the GPU has failed which means a motherboard replacement.
If the VGA display works you could try reconnecting the display and inverter cables. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the service guide to give you the exact steps to do this. This could be due to the age of the product or that a service guide was not issued.
You can try contacting HP Phone Support for service but the age of the notebook will have an effect on the available replacement parts. You can contact HP Technical Support at 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here. Your best bet might be to take the notebook to a local shop who should have the ability to diagnose the display and give you a quote for repair.
    Hopefully this helps.

  • Macbook pro retina display doesn't work occasionally. Random restarts. I can remote into the computer when display isn't working correctly

I have some issue with my 2012 Macbook Pro Retina. The screen intermittently decides to just not work. Sometimes on startup i hear the start up noise but the screen doesn't turn on. I am able to remote into the computer when the screen doesn't work. I can't seem to find any rhyme or reason as to when it works and when it doesn't. I've reset the PRAM and SMC sometimes that will bring the screen back sometimes not.
    Any ideas?

You can try the Apple Hardware test, not definitive by any means, especially intermittent problems, but it is a start.

  • Flat-panel display that did work... please help!

Hi everyone. Your help on a little problem I've got would be muchly appreciated. Please allow me to explain.
I bought my Dad a Mac mini as his first computer, about eight months ago. We couldn't afford to get him a new monitor with it - so I picked up one from eBay. We had a few problems with it initially when we got to his house and plugged it all up (I had already tested it myself at my home, and it was fine). Basically, the display would 'go to sleep' whenever we plugged it into the computer.
We finally managed to get it working by plugging a different monitor into it - although I'm not entirely sure what changed and why it now worked!
Recently, he had to take it all apart as he was decorating his living room and, when he put it all back together again, he is now having the same problem. Except now I'm 300 miles away and am trying to help him over the phone...
The problem where the monitor 'goes to sleep' is back again. Plugging in another monitor he's been able to borrow temporarily works fine. Interestingly, I can remote desktop to his machine from my house and see that system preferences > display thinks that, when his monitor is plugged in and it says its asleep, the Mac mini thinks that the borrowed Dell monitor is still plugged in (the title bar for sys prefs says 'Dell' with the model number).
I think it has something to do with the resolution that the Mac mini is trying to push out to his monitor, and it not being able to handle it. Is the Mac Mini thinking the wrong monitor is plugged in, and putting the wrong resolution and refresh rate out to it? How does the Mac mini know what the monitor can handle?
I have tried resetting the PRAM, and I've also tried removing the preferences files described in this hint (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3981395&#3981395).
It does work on some of the resolutions (I can change the resolution over remote desktop and my Dad tells me if he can see anything his end), but the ideal one he was using before doesn't work. It briefly worked on a good resolution, but I clicked 'Detect displays', and then it 'went to sleep' again, and we can't get it back.
Can anyone help please! My Dad loves his new Mac - this is the first thing to go wrong with it in all the time he's had it. And I'm a little stumped!
Thanks for any help you can give!

    Thanks for the response.
I'm not 100% what make the monitor is - certainly nothing I had ever heard of before.
The resolution we were trying to get was 1024 x 768, I believe. The monitor could handle the resolution above, and it could handle the resolution below (in the sys prefs > displays list).
Tellingly, when I change the external monitor connected to my Macbook, System Prefereces > Displays will indicate in the title bar what model monitor is plugged in. However, on my Dad's Mini, when we plugged his monitor in (after having the Dell monitor he borrowed plugged in), System Preferences still thought he had the Dell monitor plugged in.
Could the problem be that OS X thinks its is displaying through the Dell monitor still (which has different capabilities to Dad's monitor), and therefore putting a resolution out to the monitor that it can't handle? If this is the case, then I would guess that either the DDC signal in the monitor is broken, or whatever mechanism in the Mac Mini to detect this isn't working properly.
    Any thoughts anyone?

  • My display has stopped working

    Hello
I bought my Thunderbolt Display 2 weeks ago, and now it doesn't work. The display is connected to my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.8.2). Yesterday I unplugged it and turned off my mac. Today I plugged it in and... I see only the black screen. However, the light on the MacSafe connector is green. I tried to fix the problem, as suggested in manual, by unplugging the display's power cord from the grounded power outlet + reseting the PRAM. Nothing helped. Should I contact my Apple store or is there any other way to fix it?
    Thanks

Contact your local Apple Store - the TB Display should simply work. Your's isn't. There's a problem.

  • Broken CS 5.5 Design Standard Disc & Direct Link Install isn't working

My Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard disc isn't working and from my prior contact with Adobe, I was given the following links to help me install the program:
    http://prodesigntools.com/trials2/AdobeProducts/DSGN/CS5_5/win32/DesignStandard_CS5_5_LS1. exe
    http://prodesigntools.com/trials2/AdobeProducts/MDIA/CS5_5/win32/DesignPremium_CS5_5_LS1.7 z
The files from the aformentioned links have completed downloading in the same folder (multiple times from multiple attempts) and I cannot get the program to install.  I am receiving the following error message:
"The file archive part of Adobe CS5.5 Design Standard is missing.  You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe CS5.5 Design Standard.  Please download all parts."
As I have made multiple attempts, (and the .7z link no longer works - Access Denied) all I can reason is that perhaps I was incorrectly given the "Design Premium" link rather than the appropriate "Design Standard" link.  Otherwise, I cannot figure out what I need to do differently to get this install to begin.  Any ideas?
Thank you in advance for your help.

those links are incorrect.  one is for design standard and one is for design premium.  they both must match, premium or standard depending on which you want.
in either case, if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs5-5-direct-download-links.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

  • Installed Boot Camp; my external display isn't recognized upon boot in2 OSX

Man... Apple should really allow more characters in the Subject line. Here's a fuller subject:
"I installed Boot Camp and now my external display isn't recognized and receives no video upon booting into OSX (10.5.8)"
Unplugging and replugging the monitor resolves the issue until the next reboot. Had no issues prior to the installation of Boot Camp. (Windows 7 works really well, btw. I've had no issues there amazingly).
Has anybody seen this before and could point me towards the light? Thanks in advance,
    Dave

I'd just like to add that this no longer works with OS X Lion 10.3.8 either...  Get your **** together Apple.  It's called MacBook "Pro" for a reason.

  • My lock button isn't working. I am using the assistive touch thing right now. Can I get my phone fixed?

My lock button isn't working. I am using the assistive touch thing right now. Can I get my phone fixed or replaced?

Rice is hit or miss but if you can (assuming you live in a home with a furnace) sit it up with the speakers facing down on an air flow register for about 10 minutes.  The heat from the furnace will not harm the sensitive components and will dry the phone out nicely including the display layers.  DO NOT USE a hair blower!  The iPhone is capable of drying out much more easily than phones with removable backs as the iPhone while sumbermeged in liquid (for a short time) will take on limited moisture hence can be dried and keep on keeping on.  My dauhter dropped her iPhone 5 in a toilet and it was fine after spending 24 hours in rice and 10 minutes on the air register while the furnace was producing heat.
One last thing.  DO NOT POWER ON the phone until the drying out efforts have been completed and certainly DO NOT plug it in.

  • DisplayPort display sometimes not working

Hi, I'm running two MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4Gs in my desktop and have two monitors that I use. The main monitor is a Dell U2713HM 1440p display connected via the DisplayPort of the first GPU while the other monitor which I rarely used is only plugged in to the second card's HDMI port when used. I have two problems.
    1) Whenever I enabled the second monitor and happen to reboot/shut down the desktop with the second monitor still plugged in, none of the monitors work. Both turn on for a while and go into sleep mode. To mitigate this, I tried plugging out the HDMI monitor but the main monitor still doesn't work. I found out the only way to get the main monitor to work on a reboot is to disable the Extended Screen on the second monitor and disable Activate All Displays and switch back to Maximize 3D performance in NVIDIA Control Panel before turning the computer off. This is the only way the main monitor works after a reboot with both/only the main monitor plugged in.
    2) When putting the computer on Stand-by with one/both monitors plugged in, none of the monitors will wake up when the desktop is woken up. Even rebooting doesn't work. Removing the second monitor's cable doesn't work too. The only way to resolve this seems to be plugging only the second monitor in, booting using that monitor (which dies and goes to sleep when Windows loads, after the spinning load screen) and then plugging back in the DisplayPort main monitor after the second monitor fails. The first monitor now works.
Can anyone help me with this silly and cumbersome situation? It seems like DisplayPort isn't working properly at times. I've updated to the latest NVIDIA drivers and the latest BIOS for the cards but the problem still remains.

Now it works. Don't know why. Maybe it's because I installed the latest NVIDIA drivers. But the blank screen problem remains. With those two displays plugged into the same card, I face the following situations at random:
    1) Both monitors work fine
    2) Both monitors turn on for a slight moment and goes to sleep afterwards even after Windows has booted up.
    3) HDMI monitor is the only one that works after boot up
    4) No monitors work
Once I encounter problems 2-4, it becomes a problematic loop.
I've tried to solve problems 2-4 by
    1) plugging out both cables and plugging only one in
    2) Plugging out both cables and restarting with them both in
    3) Plugging out both cables and restarting with either one in
    4) Plugging out both cables, restarting, and trying to plug one in only after Windows bootup
    5) Plugging out both cables, restarting and trying to plug both in after Windows bootup.
None of these work. The only way I seem to be able to get it to boot after the first failure is to mash the BIOS [Del] key after turning on the computer. It doesn't actually go to BIOS, because of the MSI Fast Boot but that seems to sort of kick the monitors alive. Is this an issue that I have to RMA my card for?

  • My cursor isn't working on Firefox so I can't scroll down - I must manually hold vertical bar to move page - I've already tried troubleshooting - helped temporarily, but still problem now - cursor otherwise works on other servers

My cursor isn't working on Firefox, so I can't scroll down - I must manually hold the vertical bar to move page.

I have had this nagging problem several times. Each time more frustrating than the last.
'''PDF''''s. If you have a .pdf page open in Firefox (as often happens when looking at brochures and whatnot from websites) the mousepad side scroll function will not work. Plugging in an external usb device works just fine, making the situation that much more aggravating.
Simply close any windows or tabs from Firefox that are displaying .pdf's, and the blood pressure "should" return to normal values. If your blood pressure doesn't return to a satisfactory value, see your family doctor. He'll probably ensure your continued trust in Firefox is still better than any experience with explor.er.

  • Installed Premiere Pro CS4 but video display does not work?

I just got my copy of CS$. After installing Premiere I found two things that seem very wrong:
    1) video display does not work, not even the little playback viewer next to improted film clips located on the project / sequence window. Audio works fine.
    2) the UI is way too slow for my big beefy system.
My pc is a dual boot Vista-32 and XP system with 4GB of memory installed and nvidia geforce 280 graphics board with plenty of GPU power. The CS4 is installed on the Vista-32 partition. My windows XP partition on the same PC with Premiere CS2 works great and real fast.
Any ideas how to solve this CS4 install issue?
    Ron

I would like to thank Dan, Hunt, and Haram:
The problem is now very clear to me. The problem only shows up with video footage imported into PP CS4 encoded with "MS Video 1" codec. So this seems to be a bug. The codec is very clearly called out and supported within various menues but video with this codec just will not play in any monitor or preview window. In addition the entire product looks horrible with respect to performance while PP CS4 trys its best to play the video. Audio will start playing after about 30 seconds. And once in awhile part of video shows up at the wrong magnification before blanking out again.
My suggestion to the Adobe team: fix the bug and add some sample footage to the next release so new installations can test their systems with known footage.
