Display Issue in Forms 10g on Windows 7.

Hello,
I have a peculiar problem while working on Forms 10g application on Windows 7 Platform. I am able to build form modules and run them. The problem is in the display in the Oracle Applications Server Forms Services window. I use internet explorer(default) to display the results. Apparently I am able to view the correct output only after I scroll the mouse pointer up and down once. To make it more clear, when I click on run form option of the forms builder, the output opens in an internet explorer window. But the screen is blank. I am able to view the resulting frame and its contents after I move the mouse pointer once, in a vertical direction. My instructor told me that it is a problem specific to Windows 7 and can be rectified by using TuneUp Utility but of no help.
Can anyone solve this please.

Hi,
Since the form is appearing the issue is something to do with the client machine where you are opening the form from.
Try again after clearing the web browser cache and java cache. Also you may try this from another machine and confirm of the situation.

Forms 10g in windows xp 64bits not run in portuguese

Good evening,
I have a Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 installed on windows xp 32 bit and
only putting in regedit NLS_LANG BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE_BRAZIL.WE8ISO8859P1,
it is in Portuguese.
On another machine with Windows XP 64-Bit did the same operation and he continues
in English.
Unico in detail and that it is in 64 bits in regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/WOW6432NODE/Oracle instead of 32bit which is in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Oracle
Someone from the forum is in forms 10g and windows xp 64bit can use in Portuguese?

If you are talking about runtime (in a browser), NLS settings must be made in default.env and not in the Registry. If you are talking about the Builder, it is not supported on 64bit Windows.

To run Forms 10g on Windows Mode

Is there possibility to run Forms 10g on Windows mode, not on Web ?

If you want to test your forms locally there is an OC4J component with the Developer Suite which can be started so you can run your Forms on your local station. This is no client/server but you run your webforms local.

Form 10g with windows mobile 10g

i want to run oracle forms 10g on windows mobile 6 does anyone have an idea how to do this?
Is there is any jinitiator for windows mobile or jre to install it?

Display NCLOB in FORMS 10g

Hi,
I have an NCLOB field in a table that I have to DISPLAY in FORMS 10g. I think a have to use the to_CLOB function to be able to display the content correctly.
Can somebody tell me if this is the right way to do it. If so, at what point (which level and trigger) will i use the TO_NCLOB function?

Installation of Forms 10g on Windows Vista

I am also looking for the patch 7047034 and the OPatch as I am not a registered metalink user. Hello Friends,
I have been unable to download the patch for developer 10g forms as I am not a metalink registered user. But I have downloaded other browsers such as firefox2 and netscape 9.0.0.6. I am trying to run my forms 10g rel2 with these browsers. But on netscape it says Java is not enabled, even though I have enabled Java. And it shows me a grey page. On firefox 2, it says 'click here to download plugin'. After you click on it, it says 'No suitable plugins were found', 'Unknown plugin(application x/jinit-applet; version 1.3.1.22) and a text box is beside it labelled 'Manual Install'. When you click on this manual install button, it takes me to this page :

Please can anyone help with advice as to what direction to go. I am stuck with my installation. I am using Windows Vista Operating System.

Displaying the Oracle Forms 10g

Hi Everyone,
I need help on this one.
I am currently running Oracle Forms 10g and I want to display the Calendar object on an item in my module.
I have attached the relevant libraries i.e Calendar and added the program units as required so in my module there are two additional data blocks that is
DATE_CONTROL_BLOCK and DATE_BUTTON_BLOCK and I have my canvas and the DATE_LOV_CANVAS.
What code do I had to the KeyListVal trigger to enable me to display the Calendar at runtime?

Calendar in my Form Module at runtime.That wasn't your initial post's question, and what do you mean by at runtime??
You need to have the objects you stated in your first post in the form to be able to show the calendar at runtime.

Webutil configuration for jre, Forms 10g in windows 7 application server

hi all,
we are recently upgraded the application server with new os windows7. and clients ae also upgraded with windows7.
we are using forms 10g(developer suite 10g). and installed jre6 instead of jinitiator and did the all needful changes in formsweb.cfg. and ialready installed ofiice-2003(for excel)
but we are unable to run reports in excel format*. while we select the repotr type is exel in list item
and click ok button the following error is coming

client_ole2.create_obj will not work.

BMP is not displayed in Oracle Forms 10g

Hi,
I am trying to display logo on the custom logon form.
I have created an image item in the block. The following code is written in WNFI

But the BMP is not getting displayed.
Am i missing something here?

But it is working same way in another application also on 10g.
I do not have access to that form but i got the above mentioned code used there and i tried to use it in my form.

Performance issues with Forms 10G 10.1.2.3.0

Hi,
we are on the way to change our application server back to a smaller machine. At the moment we run the AS on a XEON Quadcore machine running at ~2 GHz with 4 GB memory, let's say AS-Quad. This is the case because we needed an intermediate platform.
Now we want to go to the originally planned harware which is a single Core but Hyperthreaded XEON running between ~2.8 and 3.6 GHz with 12 GB memory, let's say AS-Single.
OS is Windows Server 2003 SP2 64bit on both machines.
Hard Disk is on a SAN for both machines.
Both AS are not loaded right now because were still at the beginning of migrating from Client-Server.
After installing the AS-Single, and copying/moving/changing the configuration files (formsweb.cfg, default.env, ...) from AS-Quad we think we have now 2 Application Servers which are nearly the same.
But we see a big difference which hopefully can be solved :
If we connect to AS-Quad the menu(Tree) and the first Form is displayed in approx 2 seconds, after that a reaction on keystrokes is immediately.
If we connect to AS-Single the menu(Tree) and the first Form is displayed in approx 4 seconds, after that a reaction on keystrokes is very slow for a couple of time.
If we start a form which just displays some records from a table, scrolling through the data on AS-Quad is working fine when we keep KEY-DOWN pressed, the rows flow though the screen quite continually. Only very rarely the scroll stops for a few milliseconds which is acceptable.
On AS-Single doing the same thing, (holding down the Cursor-Down Key) the Rows flow as well, but after some Rows (5 or 10 or maybe 50-100) the screen stops for half a second up to 2 seconds until it continue.
I know, this is not a benchmark which has to be much more complicate and detailed, but it gives a feeling, that the AS-Single might be not performing quite well and thinking about ~ 400 Sessions on 2 of those Servers when running productive we want to eliminate any problems or changes before getting productive.
If anybody has ideas, your welcome.
We also have another question regarding a specific Form comparing Client-Server with Web-Based.
Running that Form on Client-Server doing an execute query and junping to the last record takes ~ 5-10 Minutes. This is due to the fact that it is a complicated form doing a couple of Master-Detail and also Post-Query on some of those data-blocks.
the point is that running on CS the CPU-Load (seen in Windows Task-Manager) is nearly 0. Running the migrated Form on the Application-Server and doing the same, Execute and jump to the last Record, the CPU-Load is ~30-40%. Doing the sam on 4 sessions the Load goes up to 100%.
Is there an explanation for it or do we have to find a reason for it. And if we have to do, where can we start searching for the reason of the CPU-Load.

How to compile a form built in forms 10g on windows platform?

I have built a 10g form on my local desktop on windows 7 and compiled/deployed it in apps on linux server.
I need to deploy the same form fmb on oracle apps hosted on windows platform. Please let me know if fmb works fine or not. And also provide how to compile form in windows platform..like frmcmp_batch command

The fmb, mmb, and pll files are portable to any platform where Forms can be installed. Every installation that supports running Forms comes with the necessary components to generate the executible files (fmx, mmx, plx). On your Windows machine, if you have the Builder installed, you can generate an FMX using the Builder. If not, you can directly use the compiler. The compiler has a gui option and a command line option. If you do not pass any arguments into the executible (frmcmp.exe) the GUI will start. Alternatively you can generate from the command line (DOS). You may need to set PATH, ORACLE_HOME, TNS_ADMIN, and possibily some others in the DOS shell in order for it to work.

VGA Display Issues in Bootcamp 3.2 Windows 7 64 bit

Hi Apple Community,
I am having some issues connecting my brand new MBP (15 inch, 2.3 GHz Core i7, AMD 6750M Early 2011 Model). I have successfully installed Windows 7 64 bit on my computer via Bootcamp and everything was running as expected. I am getting very decent performance for my graphic applications in Windows and am very satisfied with the flexibility of running both Mac OS and Windows on my machine.
However, recently I was tasked to give presentations and bought a mini-display to VGA port as most projectors I use have a VGA input. I was able to use Mac OS to give presentations very easily and it just seems to work. This was working well and great; however, when I needed to show my work on the windows side of things, the display just doesn't work. I have tried with many different projectors but cannot get my computer to display my windows desktop into my projectors via VGA.
Is there something wrong that I am doing? Why does it work without problems on the Mac side but not in Windows? My older computer was able to connect with the projector (Macbook 2006) without problems in Windows. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

If you look at the end of your VGA cable and count the pins in the end, it will either have 14 or 15 pins. You need one with 15 little pins.
The name of the cable you need is True Display Data Channel (DDC). You can get them from ConnectorCo.

However if you have a 14 pin short VGA cable, it does work. My short VGA is 1.5 metres. If I try it with a 10 metre cable with 14 pins it won't work.
I'm assuming a VGA with all 15 pins will work over a 10 metre cable, but I can't test out the theory until I buy one.
I looked an Apple Support last night and if you bought your Mac in the last 30 days you can get free support. I bought mine in April, so I will email them later today.

List item display in Oracle forms 10g

I have created the list item with pop-list in forms.When i retrieve the data using record group in the list item ,i need to display two column data in single list item i.e emp id , emp name .
select emp_id,emp_name from emp where mgr_id = 100;
i tried this query in record group but its coming emp id only, not name .
Can u tell the solution as soon as possible

In List Item, the First column will show in the list, and the Second column will be stored. To show both columns in list, u have to concatenate both fields and make it as first column. And i think you have to save the EMP_CODE, not EMP_NAME in database.
So the record group will be
SELECT EMP_ID || ' - ' || EMP_NAME EMP_NAME, EMP_ID FROM EMP WHERE MGR_ID = 100; Or you can use LOV to display multiple columns.

Setup.exe problem in Oracle Developer Forms 10g in Windows XP

I have downloaded the below files for installing Developer Suit 10g from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/developer-suite/downloads/101202winsoft-087370.html.
1. ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip (626,122,752 bytes)
2. ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip (236,880,881 bytes)
I am installing it on Windows XP, Service Pack 3.
However when I click on setup.exe file in disk1 folder, it does not execute.
I went through the forums which discussed on problems related to execution of setup.exe on XP. Tried most of the things like Stopping the anti virus, run as administrator, rename the file, stop certain services , etc, but however this setup.exe does not run.
I am able to run exe files of other applications. I am having 1GB RAM, 10GB free disk space on P4.
Pl. suggest what could be the possible problem.

Here are a couple of things to try:
1. Make sure there are no spaces in the directory name where you unzipped the installer.
2. As Pilgrim indicated, you must be an administrator on the workstation in order to run the installer.
3. Verify you have a clean download: check the file size and/or CRC information to ensure the download is not corrupt.
