Display issue when combining mixed bitrates

I use garageband to edit down audio recorded direct to drive by a Yamaha LS9. The LS9 records at a 192000 bit rate natively which works well with garage band until I try to pull in a loop or some other content that is at a higher bit rate.
Once I import a second file with a different bit rate the display and audio lose their sync, and the display falls several seconds or more behind the audio. This makes it really hard to line tracks up correctly without losing the first 5-10 seconds of a track.
This seems like a bug, but is there something I can do to either correct the problem once it occurs, short of starting a new project?

For clarification, the files recorded by the LS9 are 44.1kHz 32-bit float according to audacity. The default loops are 44.1kHz and 16-bit PCM. Something about combining the different sample rates breaks GarageBand '09

External display issues when waking display from sleep

After waking my external display from sleep (the entire Macbook was not asleep, just the external display), the garbled colored dots kept appearing at the top and bottom of the screen, only then for the entire display to go black, then about 5-10 seconds later the images comes back, but with the garbled colored dots at the bottom. It will keep doing this over and over again.
It's only happened once so far, but I seem to remember reading about some issues when waking from sleep with the new unibody Macbooks with regards to external displays. Is this a known issue with these Macbooks?

There have been similar reports. However, not all external displays in combination with a MacBook will exhibit this problem. Thus, it seems either display specific or something that is caused by a cross between one display and a MacBook.
I assume that you are using one of Appe's mini DisplayPort to DVI adapters to connect to the external display. In that case have you installed the latest firmware update for the adapter?

Display issues when opening InDesign CC files

I have had CC since it was released and I am having an issue. when i open a INDD file, indesign will open correctly, but the document will not display. I can see the scroll bars, and can move the mouse auround and the cursor will change like it's hovering over a frame. but not visual document. It also collapses all my panels.

Mac Pro + Airport Extreme = Mouse Cursor Chaos Display Issues When Dragging

Graphic display issues (mouse lag and latency displayed on the screen when dragging an object (photo, window, application, document, etc.) from the top 50% of the screen to the bottom 50% of the screen. Mouse cursor starts to display serious lag and latency and loses ability to stay on the object being dragged anywhere below the 50% horizon line of any display.
Mac Pro (any model 2007 to current 2009 production) with Airport Extreme installed.
Symptoms:
On any object the mouse cursor selects and then drags from anywhere in the upper portion (50%) of the screen display (no matter the display being used) to the bottom portion (50%) of the screen display, shows great lagging and latency as if the cursor is "hanging on for dear life" or as if the processor were running several intense applications and cursor was not responding.
The mouse cursor fails to stay in concert with the object being dragged anywhere in the lower portion of the screen although is fine in the upper portion of the screen.
Issue only presents itself when selecting and dragging an object from bottom to top or top to bottom of the display.
I have deduced that the issue with this "polarity" (i.e. the 50% horizon level of the screen north and south) is due to some magnetic or waveform interference from the Airport Extreme card and most likely due to its position on the motherboard and/or next the the Intel processor. Also could be enhanced by the Bluetooth card which is also located next to this card.
After checking various Mac Pros (at Apple stores, friends and received via Apple Online store) the common denominator is the Airport Extreme Card. When it is NOT present, no issues are present with display cursor lag; when it IS present, all the above apply.
No one at Apple seems to realize this issue or cares about it. Ditto for Genius Bar Apple Employees; seems to be a mystery on par with the Bermuda Triangle (which ironically is also magnetically-polarity related.)
Still waiting for a Apple Product Engineer to contact me and have 3 tickets open with Apple from 3 different Mac Pros on this. Problem first noticed May 2009 although first generation Mac Pro from 2007 also suffered same issues and just now putting the puzzle together on this relationship.
Any others out there notice this as well? Check it out if you have a Mac Pro and Airport Extreme Card installed inside of it.

I also have the same exact problem. I have a i5 iMac Mid 2011 with an upgrade to 10.10 Yosemite connected to an external display. I like you never had this issue with Mavericks. Zoom is so painfully slow now that I had to disable it. My iMac has 12 GB of RAM and even with no apps opened, zoom is killer slow.. makes me want to punch a wall-kinda slow.
I think it's clear to say that something is up with 10.10.. some bug.

Display issue when using hyperlinks in Indesign

Hello all,
I have a InDesign document with a generated table of contents which is linked to the corrosponding pages. This part works great.
But if i make a hyperlink in de Header or Footer of my document to go bact to the TOC page i encounter a very nagging issue. The link works fine but not matter wat i do the page displays at 6400%. Their are various display options to choose from when linked to a page but nomatter which i choose the display always up at 6400%.
Anyone with idea's

Have you already tried recreating the preferences file for InDesign? Command+shift+option keys pressed and launch InDesign for Mac. Control+Shift+Alt keys pressed and launch InDesign for Windows.

Display issue when connecting VGA monitor

I'm having an isue when my Macbook Pro 13 inch 2011 is connected to my LG monitor via VGA, after a while the monitor does not display the image properly I don't know how best to describe it but it is like when a satellite signal is blocky and scrabled. Sorry for the poor description. This occurs both when the Macbook is connected to a monitor with the lid shut so that the monitor is the main display and with the monitor mirroring. I've had a 2008 Macbook with the same set up and there are no issues, anybody know how to solve this?

Display issues when disconnecting from an external display

While I have found 3 bugs since my upgrade to 10.6 the biggest and most frequent issue is the MBP display when using and external monitor. When I connect a monitor all is well (mirroring mode). When I disconnect the MBP screen gets the major jitters and I can't stop it by doing anything in the Display Properties. The only way to resolve it to close the lid forcing the system into suspend mode. When I reopen all is well again. This is not an intermittent issue. Has anyone found this issue and is there a better work around?
The only other issues have been Mail crashing the whole system and Gotomeeting crashing the whole system when attempting to take Keynote into full screen mode.

I am have experienced both problems as well as if I have an external display connected to my MBP and move itunes video play back to the second screen then disconnect it from the MBP the video stays on the second display and will not gather back to the MBP display. The video is playing but off screen. Gather and detect screen do not work to get the video play back to the MBP screen.
When I reconnect the external display there is the video. I know this does not answer the original question, but from looking around the net it seems to be a growing issue.

External display issue when Macbook wakes up

Hi there,
I have an external display (Samsung 920nw) used as an extension of my desktop. When I go to sleep so does my Macbook... I close the lid and the computer goes to sleep mode within seconds (the white led on the front right slowly flashes confirming that the computer got to sleep).
The problem starts in the morning when I wake up the Macbook. The white led is still and not flashing anymore and when I lift the lid only the external display works with a poor resolution. The macbook display remains off. To solve the problem I need to detect displays and rearrange everything again between the screens.
I am not sure but I believe that sometime during the night the Macbook wakes up and he thinks that I am using the external display as the only display.
I want to lift the lid and both displays to be working as they were before going to sleep mode. Is anyone facing the same problem and/or have any clue of what is happening?
I have a bluetooth mouse and a usb hub with printer, pen drive, external hard drive attached to the macbook.

Could be caused by a backup drive or some other application running in the background. There's no way to be sure without looking at your crash logs. I keep my computer on but I always close down my apps at night to protect them from power outages.

Display Issues when loading Video Games (Dead Card?)

Let me start by saying that I'm aware of the issue with the nVidia cards installed in machines such as mine. I'm not sure if this is the same thing others have experienced, but I'd like a few opinions before I back everything up and cart my machine over to the Experts (assuming they'll still cover my machine - the hard drive and memory have been upgraded).
I purchased this computer around a year or two ago (model listed below), and this problem didn't exist until rather recently. I've played games on this computer before, including those that now do not work, so this is either a newer software issue (I've updated to the latest 10.5.x), or a hardware issue that is beginning to rear its ugly head:

I'm not quite sure what to make of it, but it happens when I try to load Spore, or a came called "Hordes of Orcs". I haven't tried booting up any games in the Windows partition yet: perhaps I'll try (although it tends to overheat rather quickly).
All other operations seem 100% fine, but I worry this problem will get worse... help!

The logic board should be a separate issue from the memory, considered a user upgrade, and the hard drive. Unless there was physical damage to the logic board when the drive was replaced, you should be able to get the NVIDIA issue fixed under Apple's program. There were some NVIDIA chips manufactured that had some sort of manufacturing flaw, and this is what the test is designed to detect.
However, it would be prudent to replace the original Apple memory before sending your Mac in, and also make an up to date backup of your data. You could even make an exact clone of your hard drive onto an external drive using a cloning utility such as Super Duper:

It would be an especially good idea to do this, as Apple will sometimes wipe the drive and reinstall the OS in the process of troubleshooting. If you have sensitive material on the drive, you may well want to wipe it yourself before sending it in.
If you have a bootable Super Duper clone on an external drive, you can simply clone everything back onto your internal drive when you get your Mac back.
Usually you do need an appointment at the Genius Bar, as they are often so busy you won't be able to be seen without one.

SVG displaying issue when textpath is refering to an id - working in Firefox and Chrome

So I found a bug in the latest Internet Explorer. You can see it in this fiddle:

but does not show all text elements in Internet Explorer. So the question is why are
just 2-3 words displayed?
There is no reason for that. The lines are no where negative and also the 3. oder 4. works is like all the others.
I found something that said the size needs to be 100% or so, but that did not work.
So how can I get it working on the IE11?

at a guess, I would suspect that you have one too many commas(,) in your jsen variable...
eg.
var foo={'name':'river1','name':'river2','name':'river3',,'name':'river5','name':'DeNial',};
Using your browsers developer tool console compare the string of currentmap (type currentmap in the console tab)
this (ignoring exogenous commas) is a known 'feature' of the JSON parser.

Playback issues when combining 2 Quicktime movies

Hello All:
I have been processing a short 4 second ID video to combine and place at the head of various QT movies as branding.
While, most have continued to add (copy/paste) these ID movies and play them into the following movie content several continue to only present a WHITE blank leader of 4 seconds, then play the movie content fine.
I have Perian installed, running QT Pro 7.6.4 on 10.4.11
have re-exported my ID video and pasted in again at the head of these certain videos and still not playing.
have gone into Movie inspector and can see the track, but it remains UNCHECKED and won't accept enabling......hmmm
solutions appreciated!

I'm pasting these short ID clips into existing 264 MOV files....some work, some don't play the head
but show that disabled video button in the Inspector menu
I am using the EXPORT function to save the final output clips, as it offers QT selections on Stereo or Mono sound and internet header....
I will try the whole process on a test file and SAVE AS (self contained?) in Quicktime and see what happens

PDF Document Display Issue - iPad Mini iOS 8.1

I use my iPad heavily doing in-home sales. I rely on a combination of Box, PDF Expert, and Notability to retrieve and create information/documents.
After updating my iPad Mini to iOS 8, I started having a display issue when trying to pull up my pricebook in front of a client from Box, where I've always pulled that document from. It showed me one page, and the rest were blank. I opened it in PDF Expert, thinking it was a Box issue - and this time the document was blurry. Being a good stubborn Irishman, I whipped out my iPhone 4 and opened the document fine in Box.
Afterwards, I download DROPBOX, opened the file in iBooks, deleted applications and re-installed them - all with varying challenges and 0 results. The same document opens up great in my iPhone, just will no longer work correctly on my iPad Mini.
Anyone else having this issue?

IPhoto 06 display issue

Does anyone get a display issue when using iPhoto 06?
When I run iPhoto 06 and switch between windows, i always get a garbled window when i switch back to the iPhoto window. There will be black lines all over the iPhoto window for less than a second and then it returns to normal. Never fails to happen.

Try deleting the iPhoto preference file - iphoto.plist - and if that doesn't work, back up your photos to the desktop and reinstall iPhoto from your installation disc. Or, get used to it till an iLife update appears.

How to maintain signatures when combining PDFs

I have an issue when combining PDF files, where the original files with electronic signature field added in Acrobat Pro, the signatures disappear. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I've checked the security setting and currently have everything in the summary settings as allowed, but still the signatures won't carry through into the combined PDF.
Anyone have any solutions?

You absolutely can't combine signed files without destroying the signatures, because signatures apply to the WHOLE file, always. Consider using a portfolio instead.

Formatting Issue When Switch to Computer Display

I recently upgraded to a cinema display that I use with dual screen with my MacBook Pro display. When I unplug it from my MacBook Pro the windows and documents are way too big when transferred to my laptop display. Is there any way to fix this? I didn't have this issue with my old non-Apple monitor.

What patch level are you using for CR2008? With SP3 there were a number of fixes for design\formatting issues, so I would recommend use of a current patch level.
Also can you test with different viewers - is the issue specific to the CR2008 Viewer?
I did find an open Enhancement Request (ER) ADAPT01458705, and wonder if it may be a related issue:
Current Functionality:
When a Crystal Report is uploaded to the (XI R1, R2, R3) enterprise, if the report contains fields with data entries that exceed the field length, the data will overrun, vice truncating as it does in the Crystal Reports application. If selecting the HTML preview,
this should also show the data field overrun before publishing. The known workarounds documented for this are to either format the fields in question to "can grow" and limit the number of lines to 1, or create a registry key TruncateClippedFieldStrings and set the value to Yes.
Requested Functionality:
Since the customer does not have any scenarios in which it would be desirable to have the data truncate in the designer, yet overrun in the published report, they request that the TruncateClippedFieldStrings key be included in the install and be set to Yes as a default.
Ultimately if it's something that you can easily reproduce it might be a good idea to pursue this with SAP Support, it could be a bug.
