Display key figure as Hierarchy

Dear All,
I have a requirement where I would like to display the values of a key figure as range. I have Bonus as a key fgure. User would like to see the report as below,
Rating   Bonus        HeadCount(No of Emp)
     1        0-20%             1
     1        20-40%           3
     1        40-100%         7
     2        0-20%             4
     2        20-40%           2
     2        40-100%         1
Does anyone have worked on such a scenario where key figure values can be displayed as range.

As said before, you can use a calculated key figure to get the result you need.
For example 0% - 20% would be the following calculation (Bonus >= 0) * (Bonus < 20). This will result in 1 of 0.
Since multiple values are going to be aggregated, don't forget to set the exception aggregation to the sum of the unique value, in this case Employee. Let me know if this works out or if you need any help.

Problem with displaying key figures in report

Does anyone have experience with SAP Report Designer for Release 7.0. I want to display key figures in the following manner: 1'500 (Which means 1.500.000) For a billion the value displaye should be 1''000 (1.000.000.000).
1000 =     1.000
0'010 =     10.000
0'100 =     100.000
1'000 =     1.000.000
0''010 =     10.000.000
0''100 =     100.000.000
1''000 =     1.000.000.000
Thus the report always shows 4 digit figures. The problem is that I don't know how to include the apostophe as a separator for the million.
Additionaly to that I want to have the font changed to a smaller number, if the figure is to large for the column. Is there a possibity to change the display of the figure with the scaling? And is there a possibility to change the font? These two parameters have to be decided when running the report. (The scale of the numbers can differ within one column.)

there is two way to display the values , one is globally, where u do it the keyfigure and another way is on the query designer level
in keyfigure go to aggregation , there u will get the number display format , u can change there and another way is in the query designer right click on the key figure and select properties and select display format

Subject: Displaying key figures without currency unit in BEX reports

Hello,
Is it possible to display key figures without currency unit in BEx reports? For example; Material Costs 1000 EUR
should be shown as 1000. Currency unit EUR and also scaling factor (*1000 EUR) does not interest us.
When we use display options in query properties, we just see an option of displaying key figures with/without scaling factors, which does not solve our problem.

thank you very much for your quick reply. We have very detailed reports with min. 10 columns, I should have defined 10 more formula columns to realize this (NODIM), but anyway there is no other way to do this, am I right?

Dynamically displaying key figures in columns - BEx

Hi all,
I am working in BEx , My requirement is that ... out of two Variables (User entry) if i select one variable i need to get 4 key figures in out put . If i enter another variable i need to display only 2 key figures out of 4 in columns . I would appreciate if ant one could come out with a solution.

Are you working in BEx Analyzer or BEx Web? What version of BW do you have installed?

Displaying key figures in workbook

Hi,
I added three keyfigures and one calculated key figure to the existing query. when opening the workbook which contains this query the added key figures are not displaying in the workbook. any settings should be made?

Hi Prasad,
Refresh the workbook... this you can do by selecting any field in the workbook, right click on it and give refresh...
Probably, by default the settings of your workbooks are in such a way that you are not refreshing the workbook on opening...
This can be enabled by choosing the properties option which again you would get on right clicking on any one of the fields of the workbook. There, in the second tab, there'll be an option, "Refresh Workbook on Opening".. Choose that option so that everytime you open the workbook it automatically gets refreshed...

Bex report does not display key figures

Friends,
Need help urgently.
We have a report of a multicube(MC1). key figures of one of the infocube(IC1) in the multicube(MC1) does not showup on the report.
If reported independly on that IC1 it does show all values. This sounds really weird but its taking up all my time.
Please friends, need your inputs on what else could have gone wrong.
FYI...earlier we had same problem but creating new report on this multicube resolved problem. But this time, we have a new KF added to the infocube(IC1). But no change to the reports are made. Even though problem occurs. I even transported all the rules, multicube and infocube.
Please help me identify what could be the cause for it.

Thanks, this resolved my problem.
But here;s another issue that came up now.
I have a keyfigure (conversion factoor to EA) as attribute to master data infoobject (zmatnr). I have this included in the multicube. On the query, I have created a replacement path variable for conv. factor and this works well with all reports except this sales report which has key figures included from multicube(from multiple infocubes in muticube. Any idea what is that i am doing wrong?

Reporting Agent - Print Layout - Issue in Displaying Key Figures in Rows

We have issue while printing reports using Reporting Agent. As part of Query Definition we have Structure of key figures in Rows. But while creating Reporting Agent , in Print Layout option Under Table Rows we are not able to drag Structure of key fig.
What could be the solution to this issue. How can we use key figures in rows?

Hi,
putting product in the rows will slove the issues as the unit cost depends upon the prdoduct and therefore it will uniquely identify each of the material and then it will get multiplies with the qty and therefore you will get the correct result.
this kind of issue you will always face when you are going to multiply cost with the Qty and as the cost differ with the individual material.
Also putting material into the rows will cause the no. of rows to increase as all the materials will show up in the individual rows for the particular month.
Also you can make a claculated key fgure for the multiplication and use before aggregation.
But for that your both the key figures should be in the same cube i.e. in the same rows or the before aggregation will not work you will not even get an option of before aggregation in the CKF if the key figures belong to two different cubes.
Since your qty and cost are coming from two different cubes before aggreagtion will not work here.
And if you do before aggregation then you report will become quite slow as it will do all the multiplication anf then will bring the result.
So it depends on your requirement and your design how to proceed.

Yup.. cc.. u are correct..it divides by 1000..

So could be something to do with the user changing in the Local view (or) That user is using a work book.. which is saved in that way..

Display key date of hierarchy in the query

Hello,
we have a query that uses a hierarchy with the time depending structure. The key date of this hierarchy has been restricted with a variable and can be entered by user in the query selection screen.
Is there any way to display this key date variable in the query result ? Otherwise the users do not see the key date they had selected before.

Key Figures With Hide can be shown showing wrong values when displayed in a query

Hi Experts,
I have a qiery with two structures in the column(cell Definition) three key figures are displayed and the rest are all hide can be displayed. However whenever i display one of the hidden key figures along with one displayed key figures it initially shoes incorrect values. Once i add another key figure (which has status always show) the hidden jey figure value gets corrected. Is it a problem with the structure? Kindly assist.For example when i display the actuals(always show) and actuals rate(hide can be shown) the values for actuals rate are wrong , however when i add the plan rate(always ahow) the values for actual rate gets corrected. Screenshots for structures below.

For this I would recommend you to check the Key figure definition in all 3 situations.
1. original display
2. display of hidden KF
3. Display of existing KF
I suspect that cell references may have some effect on the calculation as you are adding the hidden KF in analyzer directly. You can prove this only by checking Key figure definition.
Please let me know if you are facing any issue in getting the Key figure definition itself.
Also, as Cornelia suggested check if you have any constant selection applied to any of your KFs.

ELSEIF in calculated key figure

Dear gurus
We have recently upgraded to NW2004s, and would need some help on the formula for my calculated key figure. This calculated key figure is meant to replicate IF... ELSEIF statement, depending on what the user enters. The logic that we have are as below :
IF Var=1, then display key figure A
ELSEIF Var=2, then display key figure B
ELSEIF Var=3, then display key figure C
ELSEIF Var=4, then display key figure D
where Var is a Formula Variable, Processing By User Entry/Default value.
The formula that we have originally, in BW3.5 is :
<i>(Var == 1) * 'Amount in TC' + (Var== 2) * 'Amount in Comp Code' + (Var == 3) * 'Amount in Parall USD' + (Var == 4) * 'Amount in Hard Cur' </i>
This formula has served us well in BW 3.1 to BW 3.5, and never had any problems with it. However, when we migrated over to BW 7.0, we could not get values for this formula (eventhough we have data in our cubes). The only data that get is when we key in Var=1, but when we try with Var=2, 3 or 4, no data is displayed in our key figure.
We tried to debug, but somehow we could not figure out how the new BW7.0 calculates these type of key figures, and whether is there a change in the formula variable. We believe that the problem may lie in the way that BW 7.0 interprets the formula above, and only obtains the first portion of the formula (Var==1).
We would appreciate any helps, and of course, points will be awarded if problem can be solved.

Currency Translation for Key Figures with Value More Than One Currency

Hi...
I have query which display key figure GL Account Balance. The currency that used for this key figure is USD and IDR. How we want display value based on selection screen? So if we input currency USD, all value that use currency IDR translated to USD and all value that use currency USD not changed. Otherwise if we input IDR, all value that use currency USD translated to IDR and all value that use currency IDR not changed.
How we do this in query designer? Thank you.
I have use currency translation :
1. (Right Click Key Figures >> Properties >> Currency Conversion Key)
2. Target Currency Using Variables Entry
but seems the result is not correct. Can anyone help me ?

Thanks for your help, but still I have problem. I have create one currency conversion type, ZXXX. This currency conversion type is using exchange rate type = "M",source curr from Data Rec, sel of targ currency with translation,
and fixed time ref = "Current Date".
Problem:
1. With this setting, i create currency translation in BEx, but the result is not same, it's like the exchange rate not using the same setting with data in ECC (I compare data with transaction fs10N). Is my setting for exchange rate not correct?
2. When I try to display GL Account Balance --> Calculated Key Figure (Total Debet - Total Credit) for period 0, the translation not working. Example if the value is IDR 1234 then the value in USD still USD 1234. Why this happen?

Selection of key figure(s) from a structure

Hi,
I have defined a structure in my query that contains several calculated and restricted key figures. When I execute the query I only want that one (or a selection of) key figure(s) from the structure is(are) available in the report. It is also desirable to be able to select another key figures from the structure at run-time of the query. How can I solve this???

Hi Eivind,
why don't you use BEx filter functionality? It allows you to restrict the drilldown to one or more key figures.
If you are reporting in web browser, you can also create a web template where you select the displayed key figure in dropdown box.

Insert new hierarchy nodes for key figures

Hi All,
In BI 7.0. when you right click on the key figure folder , you get an option called " insert new hierarchy node". Can anyone please explain what is this feature for. Is is just for reporting purpose where you can drill down for a particular key figure for more clarity. Thanks in advance.

This is for reporting purpose.
For example you have four key figures which consists the "TOTAL DEMAND".
Suppose TOTAL DEMAND = Purchase Requistion + Planned Order + Purchase Order + Production Order
We may provide hierarchy on TOTAL DEMAND, so that in display you may expand TOTAL DEMAND. When expanding TOTAL DEMAND it will show all four key figures with the total numbers in TOTAL DEMAND.

How can i display all the Coloumns (Key Figures) in the Report's same page

Hi All,
I am currently working on the BI 7.0 reporting. In the BEx Query Designer report, I am having 13 coloumns (7 Key figures and 6 Formulas) in the report. It is now displaying 10 coloumns in the First page of report. The other 3 coloumns can be seen by clicking on the next page. But the requirement is to see coloumns in the SAME PAGE.
Are there any settings OR any other thing in the Query Designer, which can enable me to see all the coloumns on SAME page. The users are not interested in scrolling next page for 3 coloumns.

In Web Application Designer, for the properties of your analysis webitem under the Paging category, change parameter 'Number of Data Columns Displayed at Once' (BLOCK_COLUMNS_SIZE) to 0. This will make all columns show instead of paginating as it is doing now.
